Guest Boo_Bradley Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I picked up Saved by the bell and The Whole Bean, Mr. bean's british Sitcom
Aero Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I bought it earlier today, and I've yet to be disappointed.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Wait it came out...damn I missed it, have to wait now...
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I'm assuming Zach Malibu was to busy watching to post
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 ANy additional comments? Commentaries you'd liked etc...?
Zack Malibu Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 I may do an actual review if I get the spare time in the next week or so.
Aero Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 My favorite episodes are Zack's War, Driver's Ed., & Miss Bayside. I can't wait for the next few seasons to come out, but it probably won't be for another year or two.
Zack Malibu Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 I'm waiting for The New Class, personally. I don't care if most of the seasons sucked (I'm looking at YOU, first season!), I want 'em to continue my streak of having every episode of SBTB.
Guest EQ Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Holy Crap... I had no idea "The New Class" went on for 7 seasons.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 I bought the set and I've realized something--Despite the show having an undefinable charm, if you to were to see any of these episodes for the first time, having never seen a single episode of the series, you'd hate it, they're just that corny and "out there." I've seen each episode more times than I care to admit, so I'm fine, but even a lot of the lines are still to corny for me. When WWE has more logic and continuity than you, you know something's not right. As for the set, it's a nice pickup for any fan of the show, although the abscence of even a single extra is annoying, especially since I heard of a documentary and deleted scenes being included. The quality of the picture is pretty lousy at times, even though it was never great to begin with. There's some compression issues at times, which causes posters and signs in the background to look just awful. I think my main gripe is that when you remove the security sticker, it takes some of the cover with it. I had heard about it, so I used a hairdryer when taking it off, but still have two spots where the color is gone now. I'll gladly take the next two seasons (although season 4 is awful) and the College Years. I don't have a problem with Good Morning, Miss Bliss, but the New Class is just awful. I wouldn't ever buy any of those.
Brush with Greatness Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 So this one released right now is with Mikey instead of Slater and that other ugly girl (Maria maybe) instead of Kelly and Jessie? Those episodes weren't half bad. I enjoy Screech more in those early episodes than later on.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 No, that's Good Morning, Miss Bliss, which is considered a different series. The ones that came out were seasons 1 and 2 of what's considered Saved by the Bell. It was the first appearance of Kelly, Jessie, and Slater.

Zack Malibu Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 That would be the season where Jessie and Kelly weren't in many of the episodes, and were replaced by Tori, the tomboy. The girl on Good Morning Ms. Bliss was Nikki. Maria was one of the characters on The New Class (and actually became the main character more or less during the last two seasons).
Bruiser Chong Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 That would be the season where Jessie and Kelly weren't in many of the episodes, and were replaced by Tori, the tomboy. Ugh, that's correct. *has terrible flashbacks to the school song and drunk driving episodes*

Guest Random Hero Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I'll try off the top of my head: It seems like only yesterday we started But soon we'll put away our books and pens We'll go on with our lives once we have parted But how can we say farewell to our friends The double dates, the parties and the dances Cramming for a mid-term until three The football games, the max and the romances Soon bayside you'll be just a memory Our four years here have all become unravelled And so our high school story finally ends In years to come no matter where we've travelled We'll all look back and think about our friends I'm not so sure about that second to last line.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 So this set is worth it? My ladyfriend is a huge fan so I was going to get it for her, but it is a fairly big hunk of coin to just drop on something that has been panned by most dvd reviewers. Give me some feedback.

Zack Malibu Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 $36.99 at Best Buy the day it came out. Regular price is $39.99, at least at my store.

Guest Choken One Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Poor Canucks. Come to America, We'll embrace you. But we don't want any yapping about Hockey and you must conform to Monster Truck Rallys and Beef Jerky.
The Dames Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 I also bought the set and thanks to my 7 year old niece who I hooked onto the show...I've seen 4 discs worth already. Oh screw it...considering this show was a classic and it's getting a lot more attention now that it's out on DVD, I'll change this to a One and Only SBTB Thread. Dames
