Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Man, that show is 1/2 good, 1/2 crap. APA d. Matt Hardy V.1 and Shannon Moore ::sigh:: DO SOMETHING WITH MATT FUCKING HARDY Comes back after missing the last few shows because of the concussion, and gets to job to the APA. WTF? And why are the APA suddenly the strongest tag team on the SD roster?

haVoc 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 For those wondering....... VELOCITY TAPINGS: Jamie Noble w/ Nidia d. Chris Kanyon Who Betta Than Kanyon? Everybody according to Birmingham as Kanyon comes down to BIG heat. Noble and Nidia get a NICE pop. Noble gets the pinfall with a roll-up and handful of tights. Nice match with lots of near falls and innovative moves by Kanyon. Basham Brothers w/ Shanequa d. Jobbers Basham's and Shanequa down to MIXED reaction. Total squash match that saw Shanequa deliver a huge powerbomb to one of the jobbers when the ref was distracted. She got a huge pop for that. The World's Greatest Tag Team d. Funaki and Ultimo Dragon Funaki and Dragon down to a HUGE pop. The World's Greatest Tag Team down to HUGE heat. Again, a good, fast paced match. Hass and Benjamin win with their tandem finisher. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted September 10, 2003 I thought SD was live this week!? Aren't they doing the Mullets lead in this week? No and yes. That first question must get asked at least once a week. Attendance: 4000 (~50% of capacity) That's damn pitiful, but considering: Vince McMahon out to a DEAFENING pop. Vince is God in Birmingham as more than half the crowd bows. I guess SD! attendance has been reduced to the fanbase that adores the McMahons. So good job Vince! Mission accomplished. Dumbass. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Velocity looks pretty damn good. Knoble vs. Kanyon? Gimme that on SD. Did he come out as Kanyon, or Mortis?
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Yeah they were advertising it as live last week, I just watched the tape I had and they adver'd the Parking Lot Brawl saying SD was Live next week. Odd....
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted September 10, 2003 On Velocity? They do that *every* week. It means nothing.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted September 10, 2003 No on SD, they showed the graphic for the Brawl, then went to a Smackdown logo and said Live next week, with the little Live thing next to the time. Either they fucked up rather largely, or they do that every week and I've only noticed once.

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Alternate recap on 411 sounds stupid and/or political: The good part, the Eddy/Cena match, is pretty much covered in full. But what's the point of: APA d. Matt Hardy V.1 and Shannon Moore APA down to MASSIVE pop. Hardy and Moore down to GOOD pop. Awesome pants on Hardy. Typical match ending in a sick clothesline from Bradshaw to Moore. Bradshaw drinks a ton of beers afterwards In the last quarter hour? And why is TSPWGTT on Velocity? A better recall of the Kurt/Brock thing: Kurt entered the ring, pulled off his warm-up suit and declared that he didn't want to wait until next week to take on Brock, so he invited Brock out for a title match. They went back and forth on the mic, then brawled on the outside to the ring, the bell rung and we had ourselves a title match. Twenty solid minutes of action, with Kurt absorbing a lot of punishment, including two F-5s, but getting the shoulder up at two and living to fight on. I thought it was quite similar to their WrestleMania XIX match... not a bad thing at all. After the second F-5 didn't get a three count, Brock ascended the ropes. Before we got to see him try another Shooting Star Press (I can only assume that's what he was doing up there), Kurt ran up and gave him a belly-to-belly off the top. Kurt locked on the Ankle Lock in the middle of the ring and was able to keep Brock there as he looked for every opportunity to make the ropes. Brock tapped out a few moments later. Big Show's music hit, and he set Kurt for a chokeslam. Kurt escaped and put the Ankle Lock on Show until he tapped out as well But... Kurt left to his music and a tremendous crowd reaction. Big Show hobbled up the ramp to his music next. Brock left to his music last after much grimacing and apparently crying. Assuming he didn't injure himself, they have been doing a really good job of burying Brock, if they really want to do that. Sure, he doesn't draw as a main eventer, but neither does Big Show. Guest drunkenscarredangel Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Should have known the first report was fake, no McMahon matches Constantly pissed about the treatment of Matt Hardy, though, sadly not surprised, even worse, I'm sure he'll be back on velocity again for the next couple weeks, and not on Smackdown. I'm trying to figure out what I'm more pissed about...him and Shannon jobbing to the APA... or the APA beating WGTT for the titles...it's coming. I can feel it. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 So, why did Rhyno turn on Benoit? I'm still looking and can't find anything. Rhyno: "Hey, you've got short arms!" Benoit: "No, you're the one with the short arms!" Rhyno: "I'll *GORE* you!" Benoit: "Oh, yeah? I'll make you tap!" Vince: "Brilliant work by the writing team." Steph: "Thanks, daddy!" Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted September 10, 2003 So why did Rhyno turn on Benoit? Rhyno SHOULD have come back as a heel last February anyway. I stand by that. So his heel turn was merely a formality in my view. But, it's high time for Benoit to move away from Rhyno and Albert. It's getting kind of ridiculous now. This year alone Benoit has had five unanswered victories against Albert, and three against Rhyno. There's nothing left to prove. At least this week's matchup got good reviews in the live reports. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted September 10, 2003 So, why did Rhyno turn on Benoit? I'm still looking and can't find anything. WP-Rhyno said on the Smackdown after the last Smackdown PPV that Benoit treated him like a joke.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Assuming he didn't injure himself, they have been doing a really good job of burying Brock, if they really want to do that. Sure, he doesn't draw as a main eventer, but neither does Big Show. But you see, in WWE logic, lots of jobs = future title push. So what if Brock's been made to look like a total pussy whenever he's within 3 feet of Angle? This is the company that makes sure that their Canadian stars never shine in their own country. There's no foresight. From the 411 report: after they go outside to watch the Parking Lot Brawl. As they started outside, Bradshaw and Faarooq both stopped, realized that it was September 11th and offered a toast to those that became heroes on that fateful morning two years ago. "Hey Faarooq, let's go out to the parking lot now, which is EXACTLY what we're STEEEL going to make that country of sand n*****s into for what happened on 9/11!" Highland 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2003 Assuming he didn't injure himself, they have been doing a really good job of burying Brock, if they really want to do that. Sure, he doesn't draw as a main eventer, but neither does Big Show. I don't think having Brock act like a little bitch in a dark match can be called burying him. Besides he is a heel and heels are generally supposed to be unlikable and viewed with contempt. Only Raw HHHeels are allowed to be badasses Anyway when Brock turns face again the crybaby bit will be largely forgotten. TWGTT being on Velocity and the APA on SD! is a better example of talent being (or soon to be) buried; like when the APA squashes TWGTT for the belts. I hate it, you all hate it, but we all know that it's going to happen.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2003 Matt Facts: Matt rarely uses his turn signals Matt's Entertainment system needs 5 remotes. Bonus Matt Retro Fact - Matt likes extra pulp in his orange juice (from the backstage skit with APA) Smackdown was pretty lame actually. The parking lot thing was pretty funny but reminded me of something that WCW did/would do. Benoit/Rhyno was ok, but it got a commercial break in the middle. The cruiser tag match to open the show was decent, APA/Matt&Shannon sucked (Technically the main event...) And next week, aside from the 1 Hour Ironman match, we can also look forward to Sheniqua vs Torrie/Nidia 2 on 1 match..
