areacode212 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 True, Greenwalt's episodes veered pretty wildly in one direction or the other. For each gem (Homecoming, FHT, To Shanshu...), there was a "Happy Anniversary" or a "She" (I think Bai Ling was the most annoying part of that ep, though). Still, even his crappy episodes had some great moments.

areacode212 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Maybe DB'll direct the Harmony episode (#9). After reading a major spoiler for episode 7, I've vowed to myself that I'm avoiding detailed spoilers from this point on. But the way I understand it, Angel himself won't be on screen very much in that ep, so it'll be a good opportunity for him to be behind the camera.
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 (edited) Wow, that box set looks sweet. Feb. looks good, but if it is every 6 months then March it is. Edited October 17, 2003 by Mole

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 I was reading in the paper today that Angel's second eps.' ratings went up 21% to 5 million people - or so. Good news.
areacode212 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Yeah, that episode did really well (3.6--the last one that did better was Blind Date). Final nationals for this week's ep came out a couple of hours ago---everyone dropped a bit, thanks to the playoffs. From Mediaweek: 8:00 p.m. Smallville HH: 3.9/ 6 (#5), Viewers: 6.47 million (#5), A18-49: 2.8/ 8 (#3) 9:00 p.m. Angel HH: 3.1/ 5 (#5), Viewers: 5.03 million (#5), A18-49: 2.4/ 6 (#5) -Grades: Smallville: A Angel: B As solid as Angel is this season, the WB could have made better use of the time period with a fresher entry. Also? Mark Berman is an ass.

Also? Mark Berman is an ass. I'd like to know what other show that the WB could have put in the time slot. they have all of what...3 good shows. If they promote it enough, next weeks show should make the ratings jump. That preview makes you want to see it even if you aren't a fan. ANd when does the OC start again...that will be the true test for it.
Guest EQ Report post Posted October 17, 2003 That preview makes you want to see it even if you aren't a fan. I don't know about that. I mean... I love the show and of course I will watch... but if I wasn't a fan of the show and I saw that preview, I wouldn't care at all. You know?
areacode212 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Exactly. WB has 2 new 1-hour shows this season (One Tree Hill & Tarzan), and neither of them are doing as well as Angel (though there are some midseason replacements in the queue). The O.C. starts on the 29th. Mark Berman is just a dick. I've been getting his newsletter since last season, and every time ratings came in for Angel, he's always made snide comments about it, but he loves to push crap like The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. Fuck him.

Well first, VIEWER DISCRETION...you got the young kids that can't see R-rated movies yet but want to see something naughty. And the way the commercial is produced, it looks like a pretty good horror movie complete with GUY SHOT AT 10 Frames Per Second SHAKING HIS HEAD SIDE TO SIDE® that is a fixture in weird horror movies. That will get the horror buffs to at least give it a look.

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2003 on FX, is season 7 going to be shown all the way through or will they skip some episodes? also, the episode(s) start at 3pm here, and I get home at 3:15. Should I watch the episodes and miss the first 15 minutes (I haven't seen season 7), or just wait for the DVD of it to come out?

Season 7 works so much better when you can watch it in a row. The episodes flow into each other moreso than any other season.
