Crowe 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 Angel's world was Buffy, and that's why it required only Buffy. He changed over the years. A lot. He developed close relationships with the Fang Gang and had a son, for fuck's sake. Angel's world wasn't Buffy anymore, it was Connor, Cordy & the Gang, and that's why his perfect happiness involved all of them.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 Anya and Xander were good in season 4 and 5. In season 6 and 7 they consumed copious amounts of monkeynut. Why? I can see S7, where they barely do anything, but what's wrong with Xanya in S6? It's great. I love the build to the wedding. It's so funny how obsessed she is with it. It's cool to go back and see all the subtle hints that Xander wasn't ready. So many good wedding jokes too. Then the aftermath is so heartbreaking and emotional. Emma and Nick are so good at being pissed at each other. I wish the S5-S6 era of Xanya would have lasted forever.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 Looks like Buffy's back to two episodes in a row on F/X, at 1 and 2.

Guest reek Report post Posted September 21, 2004 It's allll about the Fuffy. I don't believe you guys haven't used these terms yet, they are widely used by the entire Buffy Internet crowd, definitely not confined to fan fiction.

Forrest was the worst thing in season 4. And did he and Buffy even have hardly any scenes together?
Tawren 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 I've heard all the Spuffy/Bangel/Cangel/whatever crap. I don't like it. Is it that hard to say Spike/Buffy?
Mole 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Crowe, I don't know if you have learned this yet. But take it from me, Mole, and everyone else in this thread. DON'T ARGUE WITH ANYA (she's crazy) I've pretty much given up on arguing with Anya. Except when it is about Buffy season 4, but I disagree about that SOOO much. Season 4 sucked, compared to other seasons of Buffy. I've done it about 3854803950394583 times, but here we go with this. Buffy 1. 5 2. 6 3. 3 4. 2 5. 7 6. 4 7. 1 Angel 1. 4 2. 3 3. 5 4. 2 5.

Anya 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Pangs is hilarious. It's like the funniest ep from either show. I am a huge fan of Espenson and this is her best. There is just so many funny lines and scenes. I love how everyone will go from talking about the threat to the thanksgiving dinner back to the monster. How could anyone not like Pangs? Anya 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 Why not? It's so funny it's one of the most entertaining eps ever. I could watch it over and over and never get sick of it. So why NOT give it a top spot?

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2004 ok, for the video thing I was thinking of doing season 4 of Angel using the first disc of The Wall, and using season 5 for the second disc. Thoughts?
Guest Paulster Report post Posted September 23, 2004 Well if everyone else is doing lists... Buffy: 3 2 5 1 6 4 7 Angel: 5 3 1 2 4 I'd like to rewatch S7 of Buffy though so I can give it a fair opinion, I missed quite a few episodes, probably 6 or 7. All in All, Angel > Buffy. Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I finished it all off this morning and I was still left unimpressed by the whole thing. I did like the direction change they took with the finale and being rid of the teen angst. I think you're missing the point. It's not just about Connor. The season was about a lot of things, and Connor's character was a vehicle for a lot of bigger themes. One of those is love, specifically family in terms of how it is defined. From that single toast at the start, to that last line at the end of the season, you can hear it as "to family". So back at "Heartbreaker" in Season 3, Angel is asked how do you define love. A killer theme that plays itself out all the way through the next two years. In Season 4, you see it from the start in the toast, with everyone including Wesley around the table. In Awakening, you see Angel's dream of perfection. In Apocalypse Nowish, you see a lot of fulfillment on that before the rug is pulled out on them. You see Angel often trying to piece together his family, but often fall short. Which is why the line from "Sacrifice", 'Love is Sacrifice' is so important. The theme of free will is extremely important to this season and the show as a whole. This goes all the way back to season one, specifically "To Shanshu in LA", when Angel is in doubt about what he fights for. That is all challenged throughout the season, as Skip reveals in "Inside Out". Jasmine's appearance challenges the whole of that theme, as does Angel's 'executive decision' at the end. There's a lot of little things that play out in "Home", which is a spectacular episode. From back in Season Three, you have the prophesy that Angel kills his son, which he does. There's the question of family, which he saves in part; he gives Connor a real life, salvages Cordelia as much as possible, and takes the rest of the group. There's the speech, which first appeared in Deep Down and again in Awakening. You have blood magic, with him slicing Connor at the end. You have 'love is sacrifice'. More to come... Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I did like the free will things, I just found Jasmine to be a little dull overall. Unlike Jingus the eating thing really didn't bother me considering all the things done in her name. I was glad to see Skip back as well as he's another one of my favorite side characters of the series. I got the whole point of the season, I just don't think it was anywhere near as good as it could've been.
