Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 Just wanted to know who else around here was going to be walloped by Isabel I'm a ready, but got some grocery buying to do tonight. I finally have an excuse to buy candles. And yeah, losing power will suck Who else out there is getting hit?
Guest The Old Me Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I live in PA, and it's scheduled to hit Thursday night or Friday. I'm going to the mountains on Friday, so I don't really care. Don't live near any bodies of water either, so the hurricane can blow me.
Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Let's all get walloped by a hurricane: 1 part Pineapple juice 1 part Orange juice Myers Rum (add as much as you like) a hint of grenadine add ice and shake it up
Perfxion 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 If it starts curving before landfall hit, I am going to get smacked by it being an F1 or TS but not as bad as anyone in Coastal Corolina. Still rains and winds will hit me.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 18, 2003 This fucking thing will be the biggest disapointment in history of Hurricanes...People are claiming it's Andrew Pt. II...It's just going to be the standard knock a few things down...some flooding type 'Cane. It's such a slow news week...thus is why Hurricane Isabel (which is a PUSSY name for a Hurricane) is getting such hype.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 How the hell do they even decide the names for these things. Hurrican Isabel, Andrew, Bob...*scoff* What they need to have is a Hurricane Papi...now that's a man's hurricane if I even seen one.
Guest stardust Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Let's all get walloped by a hurricane: 1 part Pineapple juice 1 part Orange juice Myers Rum (add as much as you like) a hint of grenadine add ice and shake it up Now that's my type of hurricane.

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I'm about as far away from an ocean as one can get. We're about due for a half dozen tornadoes, though.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Being on the Eastern Shore of MD, we are supposed to get winds up to 74 mph (Tropical Storm force) 6 inches of rain, and currently are under a Tornado Watch. So if the freaking hurricane doesnt knock my house down, a Brock Lesnar like F-5 Tornado could. Thats good to know! I was gonna buy one of those "I SURVIVED ISABEL" t-shirts, but I really didn't want to jinx myself.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Bah...it ain't hugo two, so I ain't scared. Of course I'm in atlanta and it isn't suppose to reach us but I wouldn't be afraid anyway. Hugo picked up my whole city and turned it the other way...then we had to have football practice the next day. "Just ignore the cars and trees and run the damn route now!!!) Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I'm in NE Maryland, not far off the bay, so we're expected to get buffeted by winds and rain. I also work just off the Bush River, so we're going to get it here, too. I heard the worst of it is supposed to come tonight into tomorrow morning, so I should be home watching it. School was cancelled tonight, so if the storm looks nice, I might light up a stogie, sit in the garage, and take it all in.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Every time I turn on the news the hurricane looks to be less and less of a threat. All I know if that power had better not be lost from 8:00-10:00 tonight.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I don't feel special in this thread, but I have an idea which may bring a tornaod to my area. ::Plays "Humans Being" really loud, and dances to it, in hopes of angering some sort of God that controls the weather::

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 My Aunt and Uncle live near the bay in Calvert County. Where they live, their house is surrounded (well..not much anymore) by a bunch of old trees on 3 1/2 sides. Needless to say their house, garage, Ford Explorer and Two Ford Trucks, crushed by, at last count, 17 trees that fell down. 6 Trees hit the house, 4 Trees hit the Garage, 2 on each truck and 3 on the Explorer. Most of the trees were uprooted instead of snapping over because of the ammount of rain the areas had this summer. God apparently hates Ford lol.. Here there was 1 tree that fell over (didn't hit anything), a lot of leaves all over the place (I get to spend my Friday or Saturday raking the yard whoohooo!). No damage or anything. But I got the day off anyway.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Tornados own Hurricanes. Definitely. Way more unpredictable, and just as, if not more dangerous. Definitely a sight to behold. I want that picture more than words can say.
