OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 From the "take this for what it's worth" dept., Hulk Hogan was on The Bubba The Love Sponge radio show this morning. He said that he met with the Jarretts two days ago to talk about possibly working with NWA TNA but didn't give any more details than that. Hogan is also in discussions to work for New Japan next month. ... Thanks to Brian Fritz for his help with this story. 1wrestling.com
The Dames 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I can't escape the man, dammit. The only reason I'd like him in the company is because of all the publicity he'd get them. Other than that, I'd absolutely hate it. Dames
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Is there room enough for Hogan and Russo? At least Russo would fight for guys like AJ not jobbing to Hogan. And ironic that the Hogan/Russo BATB incident centered around Hogan not wanting to job to Jarrett.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Hey, if Hogan could force Russo out, I'd be all for it...because eventually, Hogan would leave. Dames
Tony149 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Is there room enough for Hogan and Russo? Yes. While they might not like each other, they should be able to suck it up for a while. Russo even said the one man in the wrestling business he can't stand is Goldberg. And that says alot concerning some of the people Russo has problems with. And I'm with Dames on this one. I don't like the idea of Hogan coming back, but it would most likely give TNA some more attention. Short-term could be a wild ride, but this could pay off long-term. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 i think Hogan has already passed his quota on nostalgia pops. I doubt he would pop the buyrate much.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 This is just another "Look at me Vince" thing from Hogan. Nothing more.
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 This would be huge for TNA if they got Hogan. He would add alot of buyrates and help the promotion in the media's eye, because everyone knows the name Hogan. He would be a huge asset to TNA.
Silence 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Yay, another past-his-prime old fart who defends tradition against Russo besides Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper. Come to think of it, TNA has been getting a lot of old farts in the past year: Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Morton, Larry Zbysko, Shane Douglas, Roddy Piper, Terry Taylor, The Road Warriors, and Vader(yeah, even him, because he sucked the last time I saw him). Now Hogan's going to join the list unfortunately.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Hogan can come in If and ONLY if he gets smacked and pinned by Kid Kash.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Which would then lead to the typical Hogan vs. Hoss feud, in this case Hogan vs. Abyss. Of course Hogan would trounce the big guy (who is going to be HUGE, and they are booking him quite well as evidenced by last nights opener) and ruin any mystique/pop he has. Ultimo Dugas 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 I think this could be good for TNA, as long as his involvement is kept to a mininum.

Did you notice how much heat Abyss drew into that match during his rampage? And how loud the pop was when AMW finally took him out with a double spear? This Abyss guy is going to be great. Indeed I did. That whole segment with everyone switching off with quick tags to keep him off his game, coupled with him finally falling to TWO guys instead of one, was incredibly put together. Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted September 18, 2003 YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too bad I don't see Hogan signing with TNA for any amount of time. HE NEVER EVEN SIGNED A WWE CONTRACT! AND HE WAS WORLD CHAMPION DURING THE TIME!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Hogan is off course the biggest free agent out there physically capable...It would be a big coup for TNA but once again it would be the stigma of ANOTHER wwe "reject"... TNA needs NOT to go the ECW route and pick up rejects...it cheapens them...makes them look second rate.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Fuck that. If they can take "rejects" and make them look damn good, take them. Look at Shane Douglas, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Justin Credible and probably more and what ECW did for them.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 I'm telling you, the only reason TNA signs guys like Crash Holly is so Vince Russo can prove to no one in particular that he can get them over.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 I think this would be good. Hogan would drive Russo out of the company, and there's only so long that Hogan can keep going and he'd leave shortly after.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Hogan can come in If and ONLY if he gets smacked and pinned by Kid Kash. Let him job to somebody who might HELP NWA:TNA. Maybe Raven. Maybe even AJ Styles. But Kash? Yeesh. Doesn't TNA have enough spot workers as it is? Why is Kash considered to be anything special? Heck, sign Air Paris and have a big Styles and Paris feud built from their brief WCW tag run. -=Mike ...No, I don't want Paris, either. I just REALLY don't like Kash
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Fuck that. If they can take "rejects" and make them look damn good, take them. Look at Shane Douglas, Jerry Lynn, Raven, Justin Credible and probably more and what ECW did for them. In regards to Credible and Douglas, all ECW did was simply push two horribly undeserving performers MILES beyond their actual level of in-ring competence. Then again, like Douglas, ECW was astonishingly over-rated, so hardcore ECW marks probably still think that Shane was held down all over the place. -=Mike
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 I don't even like Kid Kash. I just think it's funny because: A: Kash beats all the legends and B: Kash is like 5'9''

cynicalprofit 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2003 After the whole Bash (i think) incident, why would EITHER Russo or Jarrett let Hogan near the promotion, name value or not.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 20, 2003 I don't want Hogan to go there because Hogan deserves better quite frankly. Maybe they can use Hogan as great as they used Sting! Pay $10 a week to watch AJ beat someone by interference in our main event and watch Jarrett go over someone and know we have Hogan and Sting under contract. With prices like these who wants to watch double the amount of TV for free with WWE?
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2003 Hogan doesn't "deserve" anything. He's the one who walked away from his high paying no work requied job.

Hey, I've seen those matches, and Douglas was dead last on the list of reasons why those were ****+. And of course, he had to take off and burn his bridge with WCW before the angle was even finished, as usual with him. TNA should get rid of him as well as the no-talent rejects. I mean, he PUKED ON HIMSELF last week for Christ's sake!
