As some of you already know, a bunch of my tape dealers got ratted out to Rob Feinstein, getting not only them, but *myself* quite a few threatening notes from the Langhorne goobers.

 

I didn't want to come out and say who it was who stooged me and my friends off until I had concrete proof, but now I do, so here it is:

MDwiffe/"Timmy" is TSM forums member Tim Cooke. Why he would use his precious time to snitch on tape dealers is a mystery to me. Does he get some sort of pat on the back? A merit badge? A complimentary BJ from Feinstein? I don't know. It's pretty pathetic really, in my opinion.

 

Editorial comments notwithstanding- I've talked to Jingus about it, he doesn't just want him banned, he wants him DEAD for this shit. But he's waiting for final approval from the admins, since it's technically not under Rules and Regs. But I don't think we ever thought of something like this happening. I admit I'm somewhat to blame. I'm still a relative newb at the nuances of plugging websites on the 'Net, and I didn't count on one of RF's bitch boys coming on and throwing a tantrum.

 

In the meantime, because of this, tread very lightly when it comes to recommending tape dealers/doing tape trades on the forums. If someone wants to name someone specific, use a PM and not a message board posting. This hasn't been too much of a problem in Misc until recently (which was my fault, actually) but I imagine it could be a problem in the tape trading folder.

 

It's a shame someone has to spoil the party for everyone else, but it happens. In the meantime, if someone DOES want a source for cheap Ring of Honor tapes, PM me. I have a list a mile long, some of whom could put Feinstein's balls in a blender if he complained.

So much for the community eh? Now, whilst Tim Cooke may have a sound "legal" reasoning for ratting these tape dealers out, he's done it in such a way that its plainly evident he is not doing this out of an "altruistic" spirit.

 

So, while I grant him that, I abhor his lack of honor. This runs like so. If he had seen what he termed as "illegalities", he being a morally sound person would have messaged Jay that this wasn't right and that if he kept posting he would report him.

 

No. He wanted attention. He wanted props. He wanted to feel like a bigger man than he was. And this is why he should fall.

 

We are poor wrestling fans. Dames barely makes the payments so this board can squeak by. Yet, when push comes to shove, we are out at the local independents paying 10 bucks to watch them. When the business sucks, we're pointing out where the good things are.

 

Question for Mr. Tim Cooke and any other "regulators." If Jay's bootleg tape deal, say costing him 5 dollars while it should've costed him 10, yields two people who go onto the rf side and order a video, or two people who go to pay money to see a show, doesn't that make RF better off?

 

It does, and no argumentation will destroy that point. We, the internet community, while poor do our very best to help build up the independents. While poor, we attend shows.

In the end, I do agree with you guys, a ban doesn't accomplish much, and since he didn't really do anything on the board, it wouldn't be just according to the letter of board law- although I would love to never see that dickless wonder's name on this board again.

 

The fact that he got exposed, rather easily I might add, is really satisfaction enough for me. As a result of this thread, he likely won't show his face in Misc again (if he has any common sense), and if he does, I'm fairly sure he'll be stupid enough to break one of the actual forum rules and get banned for that.

I don't see what's so bad really. Everyone in this world knows Feinstein's a douche and his tapes are way ovepriced. Even if you sell his tapes at a cheaper price it's still illegal. That's why most stores if not all have a "no soliciting" policy. Who knows, maybe if he got something out of the deal. I know I would rat some people out on this board if I could.

Well, isn't it illegal for any of you guys to do tape trading? Whether it be puroresu, WWF, whatever, that's wrong too isn't it? I'm seriously asking because it's so rampant anyway, and also it's a little hypocritical of him to rat you out when it's obvious he didn't order all those Puro tapes legally. I'm sure he feels that since it's a struggling promotion that they deserve the money, but that doesn't change what I said before, and I doubt that if ROH did hit the big time that they would change their feelings on people pirating their tapes anyway.

 

Never traded a tape myself though, so it don't mean shit to me.

Tim's banning was complete bullshit. Aside from his IM which was obviously sarcastic, there is no proof that he "ratted out" anyone to RF.

 

I like Jay and enjoy his columns, but he needs to stop taking this so seriously. Whoever okayed banning Tim whether it's Dames, Dr Tom, Goodhelmet, whoever. It was wrong. Tim didn't break any of the board rules. If being a "supposed" fink to RF Video is a bannable offense then me and Barron may as well be banned because we've both heavily plugged RF Video when we've done ROH reviews on 411.

His friends get contacted by RF and have their stuff taken down.

 

Jay assumes its Tim and uses AIM to prove it.

Quite frankly, I'm going to laugh if he thought the Superstore was some tape trading/bootleg site. Hell we only have four of the ROH DVD's, but that's due to being able to strike gold with RF and getting them wholesale, and part of that whole arrangement is to sell them at the same price as RF as to not undercut them (pretty much a rule when wholesaling items).

This whole thing is so silly.

 

First, it was obvious sarcasm (whenever someone says "yea" then proceeds to repeat the quesiton in the form of a statement, its pretty obvious to me at least that is sarcasm). Using a thre eline AIM conversation like that as "proof" is even dumber. I can picture ShooterJay at his computer, pumping his fist in the air when the IM comes back from Tim. "I got him!!"

 

Even besides that though, this whole issue of being mad at RF over the Mondo thing is really ridiculous. "Damn RF! How dare Gabe make a comment that some wrestlers don't take Mondo seriously! Off with his head!"

 

At a board where 90 percent of the conversation indirectly or directly involves dicussing how good a wrestler it is, it is hillarious that people got this upset over Gabe's comments. Gabe never even said that he doesn't think Mondo is good, which is something all of us do once a day or more. Great, Nick Mondo tears his body up to "entertain". People still can say he sucks as a wrestler. I'll say it: Mondo sucks as a wrestler and doesn't do things that someone on Jackass couldn't do with a little wrestling training. I respect his guts for ripping himself apart, yet that is still more stupidity the bravery (there is a difference). Guys like 1inch, who rips on Iceberg all the time, saying he is boycotting ROH for this is even more ironic and moronic.

 

That's whats the funniest of the whole thing. Not the fact that Tim was banned for something he didn't do (which is pretty damn funny) but the reason this whole debate is over. ShooterJay's unprofessional, whinney, innacuarate tirade in his review up on a site that is supposed to be rebutable is also up there. Come to think of it, getting mad because someone got caught doing something illegal is funny too.

He just said that in general he rats out tape dealers to RF. He never specificially said he ratted out anyone Jay mentioned in his review or Jay himself.
