Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Designated Drivers. Not them themselves but the whole concept. Sure it's done for safety so that you can have a sober person driving but... THERE'S NO NEED TO GET SO COCKED OUT OF YOUR MIND THAT YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING. Thus no need to have one person come along to drive your sorry drunk ass home. AIDS WalksThis is a double edged sword. Donating helps go toward a cure to help the children who get it at birth or the people who got it from a blood transfusion but I'd rather have my dick stepped on than even think about walking a mile to find a cure for the product of someone's unsafe excessive lust. If it weren't for innocent people getting this disease I'd totally oppose any research towards stopping it. What right do you have to go out fucking everyone, getting HIV, than asking for money to help find a cure complete with a sob story?? Using the Internet Makes You A Loser I've heard this over and over it's just such a stupid concept. I will admit that if all the person does is sit in front of the comp from dusk until dawn they probably lack a social life. However it gets sickening to read "it's just a messageboard, how can you get mad?" Well in just the same way you get mad from reading something in a newspaper that some political figure or somesuch said. If you're a loser for using the net then I guess you just beat out a billion or more people in the world on the coolness scale. Drive up to the window to recieve your biscuit. This job doesn't pay enoughI DESPISE hearing 17 and 18 yr. old kids bitch about how they think $7 is unreasonable for them to make and how they need more to buy what they want or deserve better when most of these kids are doing jobs like GAP or a bookstore. Fuck the abercrombie pants. Most of the time they don't do that much anyway, spoiled little shits. Leave because of some real grievance, not "I need better wages". What you dumb little cunts need are slaps in the mouth so your lips bleed. [/rant over]
the max 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 My grievance with the part timers using the money to buy stupid shit is when they complain about having to do such menial tasks as sweeping a floor or taking boxes to a compactor. And they complain not by telling anyone in management, but by walking out of the job or not calling to tell us that they aren't showing up.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Today my friend had a hissy fit because they asked her to stop stocking and to ring up some customers. She said "I was already up there for half an hour." She makes close to $8/hr. IT PISSES ME OFF.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Meh. If half of those kids were to trade most of the usage in one of their legs for about $6/h cdn on disability they would probably consider themselve pretty priveldged doing those menial tasks like working and shit. Social life and tangible Human contact are different things in my opinion. One of them is just more fulfilling.

Guest stardust Report post Posted September 29, 2003 My grievance with the part timers using the money to buy stupid shit is when they complain about having to do such menial tasks as sweeping a floor or taking boxes to a compactor. And they complain not by telling anyone in management, but by walking out of the job or not calling to tell us that they aren't showing up. I hate it when people do that. My favorite at my old store was how some people would complain about never getting any hours, and then as soon as schedules were out for the next week they'd start giving away every single one of their shifts. Like my old GM said, they want to make money, but they don't want to actually have to work for it (granted, a lot of these kids are also spoiled Baylor Brats who know that if they need money, all they have to do is call up Mommy and Daddy, since Mommy and Daddy already pay their rent and their $200 cell phone bills, along with other things). And the worst thing about taking out trash at my old store would be the fact that the dumpster leaked a little bit, so there'd always be this weird, smelly stuff on the ground from Wendy's. And another thing that would piss me off about some of my former co-workers--they would go out partying on a Friday or Saturday night, knowing they had to be at work at 10 the next morning, and then would call out, or just not show up at all. A few would come to work still drunk and would end up sitting in the bathroom throwing up their entire shift. I have no problem with going out and having a good time and drinking, but when you know you have to be at work before 2 pm the next day, don't get so fucking wasted that you can't even sit up straight much less ring up a customer or climb a ladder to get something down from upstock. That shit also pissed me off to no end. In conclusion: I agree with what a few people have said already, kids nowadays don't seem to have much of a work ethic at all. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 29, 2003 That's because work is for suckers. I've done, and still do, a plethora of grunt jobs. I'm a veteran of kitchens and warehouses. My current shitfuck industrial tribulation pays decent, and it's not THAT hard, but I'd much rather be getting paid to sit around and jerk off. Look at the people that most of us daydream about at some point or another; are any of them this 4'10" rotund woman named Flo who works on an assembly line? No. We've all at some point dreamed of being rock stars, independently wealthy people in mansions, famous actors, politicians, or drug dealers. Why? Because they're rich and they don't have to do a fucking thing.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Getting column ideas shot down Now probably no one can relate to this one but it pisses me off somewhat. I e-mailed Dames asking if I could do a column where I basically reconstruct WWE through a little fantasy booking but not with results or any of that. He says that there are a ton of sites that do that and plenty of people who have. L4W did on the old Smarks site or on the board I believe and everyone loved it. Now the argument is proven fun and cliche vs. new and uncertain fun. Either way it doesn't piss me off that I didn't get to post it as an article as I could just as easily post in a new topic but I was just annoyed that now the site HAS to be cutting edge. It just seems that the cutting edge got really dull when you come to columns like AS:Random Bitching or Nik Johnson:This is my opinion. You don't like it? We won't discuss it anymore. Just irks me that that Cucaracha guy has a great column but we still get to read glorified messageboard posts by Anglesault as topics or that the site needs to be cutting edge or fresh when we've had a fake Trish interview, a plagiarized article, and an article with billions of holes in it that was highly recommended. We have Smackdown from JHawk's crack which is littered with stupid cracks on people's names (hypocrisy intended). Meh doesn't really matter just venting that a shitload of crap can get the job to do whatever they please but I can't even post something that while it's been done before, got good reviews. THERE'S NO NEED TO GET SO COCKED OUT OF YOUR MIND THAT YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING. Thus no need to have one person come along to drive your sorry drunk ass home. You don't have to be "cocked out of your mind" to be legally drunk. Some people can handle their alcohol just fine but be considered over the limit. And you may feel just fine but impaired enough that your reactions are slowed. Its not worth taking others lives by risking it. And I'd say 90% of people I know risk it. I rarely hear of their being a designated driver.

AMEN! Oh, that used to rile me up when my co-workers did that. And of course, when they got the extra hours and didn't show up for work guess who the managers called? Yep. Too bad I never came in, even if I wasn't doing anything. And then, of course, I was the one who got in trouble the next time I came in for work. But *Dust, you left out the best part -- when payday arrived, these kids would then complain that their paycheck isn't any bigger...
