LucharesuFan619 Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 What's your favorite indy wrestling stable? Could make for a good topic. And there's certainly TONS of choices. NWA Elite (Wildside), SEX, 3 Live Kru, The Gathering, Triple X, New Church, Hi-V, Enterprise, Black Army, Extreme Horsemen, Funkin Army, Prophecy, Carnage Crew, TWA Academy (ROH), La Familia de Tijuana (MMW of Damien/Halloween, Super Crazy, & Psychosis), Los Havanas Pitbulls, Guerreros del Infiernos, etc. And there's a lot of ones that don't get the publicity they deserve, too. My first pick is La Familia, althought hey're not as well known. MMW are fantastic heels in Mexico. The Enterprise is another fav. of mine (GQ/Kaos forever), as is the Guerreros and Triple X. Thoughts?
Youth N Asia Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 The on again, off again Gold Bond Mafia. CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Chuckie Smooth, Chris Hero...managed by Dave Prazak.
PsychoDriver Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Hi-V Team Chismo Any of CM Punk's Stables X-Foundation
Guest bort Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 HI-V love the backseats and b boy, not a fan of nate hatred though
Sandman9000 Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 My fav is HI-V, of course. But I have a soft spot in my heart for Special K.
razazteca Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Guerreros del Infiernos is my prefered one but Familia de Tijuana are just as good and Psychosis > Tarzan Boy.
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 The NWA Elite, by far. The best promoman in the business, imo (Jeff G. Bailey), alongside a consistant group of the top heels in Wildside. The new version with Azrael, Rainman, and Hotstuff Hernandez looks like it has its potential, if not for what I've heard are beyond-amazing promos with Bailey and Azrael,
razazteca Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Has Hotstuff Hernandez improve any in the past year or is he still the big guy with muscles?
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 right now i am really enjoying the hi v vs the world storyline
Phoenix Fury Legdrop Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Has Hotstuff Hernandez improve any in the past year or is he still the big guy with muscles? He's pretty bad. Now, he's a Mike Awesome clone that injures people. Concussing multiple guys and putting Jason Cross on the shelf with a careless Megabomb into a cage is no mistake. He's about as careless as he can be with his Megabomb (Awesomebomb), and his selling is non-existant. The only thing keeping him afloat in Wildside is his weird charisma.
Slingshot Suplex Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 The Fourth Reich or Diabolic Khaos
JustJoe2k5 Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 I have to go with Special K, they know how to entertain me with their spotfests.
Guest macheteofodin Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 In the IWS there is a "faction" called the "Fan Favorites." I don't know if they are legit, or even if I'm using the right name, but I always mark out for them. It consist of Arsenal, the Hardcore Ninjaz and Mike Patterson. They are fucking great, and Patterson is the best manager on the planet. I also really like Hi-V like basically everyone else here....with the exception of Nate Hatred (I just don't get why he is "good"). All excellent wrestlers (besides Hatred), and 3/5 of them are awesome on the mic. Dewey is the shit too, just for the facial expressions.
Guest Markingout Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 Nobody has mentioned the Extreme Horsemen. Corino and Windham are both great on the stick. All of them are loaded with chrisma, even CW actually.
Zack Malibu Posted October 2, 2003 Report Posted October 2, 2003 I also wouldn't classify the TNA stables as indy stables. The promotion gets tons more exposure, and has it's own folder. They shouldn't have been mentioned. As for the Extreme Horsemen, I'm not a big CW Anderson fan, I like Diamond and Corino, and Windham has only been on one show.
Guest OSIcon Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 No indy stable is really revolutionary or anything and a bunch of them are pretty even from a talent standpoint so its a tough question. I would probably go with Special K for the pure fact that everyone in that group would most likely be no where in ROH if they weren't part of the stable. Yet as a group, they really have everything going to them: they have a gimmick that suits him, they are over, they are entertaining when they aren't overused (like they were at Glory by Honor) and they get done what they are supposed to get done in the ring (which is have good spotfests). To me, when the abillity of the wrestlers as a group is SO MUCH greater than their ability as individuals, then that's a really stable. A lot of the other stables mentioned contain wrestlers that are just as well off on their own or just beneift slightly from being in a group. That's not to discredit them, but a stable with arelady talented/over wrestlers isn't as rare or hard to pull off then a stable that takes directionless wrestlers and gets them really over.
Guest Duncan Eternia Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Special K because I got to dance with one of the hot babes they brought out at WrestleRave.
Guest trickstyle_360 Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Hi-V is my pick, all the guys are great. Hatred is not so good in the ring, but I like him cause he looks and sounds goofy in his promos.
Corey_Lazarus Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Counting TNA, The Gathering. If only because I'm a Raven mark, CM Punk is the shit, and Julio is pretty good with a great look (the mallgoth look just FITS him, you know?). Not counting TNA...uhh...Special K, if only because it's the only indy stable whose work I've seen (no money = no indy tapes).
