Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Working really hard to be last in the league again? No, not really. If I actually ATTEMPTED to be last, well... I might turn out respectable. Case in point: NFL Smartmarks League. I tried to suck in that league, and I was actually contending for a final playoff spot. This time, I'm not trying to suck, but just letting it happen at a natural pace.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 You do have a habit of dropping good guards. See? It's working. Actually, basketball isn't my well known sport. I actually know more baseball then basketball. Goes something like this in my knowledge of sports. 1) NHL 2) NFL 3) MLB 4) NBA 5) PGA
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Wow. Drop golf from the list and it's exactly the opposite for me. Not that you'd know it from my showing in this league.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted December 17, 2003 suffice it to say I know football better than basketball. Hell I drafted Olowakandi.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Lenard and Arroyo may not be superstars but they bring the workrate. I can understand Arroyo being dropped since he was injuried for a time period but damn look at the stats, he could be the best young guard in the league, he is almost a young Stockton who he replaced. Lenard which I picked up is a pure shooter which specializes in the 3 pointer who will get 15+ points a game. I know very little about hockey and baseball but I look for the best player in stats instead of name recognation and go from there.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I always have a little trouble in Fantasy leagues because I tend to end up drafting/picking up guys I really like, which is the hard working no stat getting bastards. Ya know, the types who in an actual game of basketbal, you'd probably pick over the Ricky Davis' of the world but as far as pure stats, can't hold a candle. razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Let's see: Vince Carter 14 points Matt Harpring 13 points Kenny Thomas & Samuel Dalembert combine for 23 Looks like I will hold on to my 8-0 lead.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Glenn Robinson has his first productive day in weeks, though of course he's sitting on my bench. Hopefully it's a sign his injury problems are over, with Iverson evidently out for a while Robinson has no excuse not to put up the numbers for Philly. Looks like i'll keep my 8-0 lead as well, at this rate i'll go 16-0 over two weeks, and i need all the points i can get seeing as i'm up against the 3rd place Guerreros next week. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 This is getting obscene. My team has absolutely collapsed, and the Bulls and Sixers refuse to put Curry or Iverson on injured reserve.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 You need to do some Danny Ainge player moves. If the injuried player is not going to be out for more than a week or is considered Day-2-Day than he will not get placed on the Injured List.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 In any case, its killing my team. My bench has two guys who aren't playing, and its really hampering my team right now.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 There are alot of good Free Agents out there, you just have to make the hard decisions either think short term or long term, go with the potential or get results now. I would dump Chris Mihms and LaFrentz.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 I already dumped Mihms. LaFrentz I'm just sitting on because I can't replace him anyway, as he's already on my injured reserve.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 Dump Malik Rose, as much as I mark out for him, he does nothing stat wise other than FT% and Rebounds. And Michael Finely is injuried and has not played in about a week so bench him.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 I'm thinking short term for Head-2-Head leagues. The injuried guys could be out for a week or a month you just never know.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2003 I really should pick up a free agent, i've been going with just two bench players for a while now, though i've filled up my IL with Stackhouse, Dajuan Wagner and Derek Anderson. With the Ricky Davis and Bonzi Wells trades both Wagner and Anderson should slide right into the starting lineup when they come back.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 PJ Brown has done well for me in the trade, but I think I screwed my Center situation up a ton since Ostertag has done crap as of recently (only played 2 minutes for some reason tonight, is he hurt?) Oh and a big thanks goes out to Whalers who dropped Dwayne Wade back last month...hes suddenly becoming my 3rd or 4th best player..108 points and 22 assists this week.. Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted December 22, 2003 God bless me getting Dwayne Wade on the one week where he decides he's gonna be Jesus Christ.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 I accidently left Glenn Robinson on the bench again, though unless Shawn Marion, Mike James and Jason Richardson can combine for about 200 points, 100 rebounds and 50 assists i'm not worrying too much. Depending on other results i should move up to 5th, though i'm not going to have things as easy next week.
