EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Great, now Karl Malone might be injured. I should really just give up now.
razazteca Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 So that makes half your team injuried.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I refuse to let this thread sink into the mediocrity that is the 2nd page of the Sports section. So who drafted this year does suck? Everyone seems to actually playing goodball, from Lebron to the kid Dallas has. very odd and disturbing.
the pinjockey Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Darko  Granted, hard to play well when you average about 1 minute a game.  EDIT: Sorry, I exaggerated. He is actually averaging 2.8 minutes per game with a stout half point per game.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 27, 2003 Author Report Posted December 27, 2003 Dwayne Wade is hurt damnit.
the pinjockey Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I just want to throw in that I love my 6'9", 3rd in steals and 3rd in blocks Russian.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Yeah, poor Darko is in the proverbial shitter. To hell with it, if I'm Larry Brown, I stick him out there, you're losing every game you play lately, what damage can he do? But no, keep the almighty ELDEN CAMPBELL out there to suck wind. Â Dwayne Wade has been pretty fuckin awesome lately. He essentially kept his Fantasy Team in it last week against me, the bastard.
Cartman Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 How am I in 1st right now? Seriously... Â Look at my team! I mean Ben Wallace, Marbury, and Walker are carrying my team...but thats it.
Sandman9000 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Yeah, drafting Darko was another brilliant move made by me. As was drafting Jamaal Tinsley, who then proceeded to disappear. Â As was dumping Lamar Odom for sucking ass, who then decides to actually go and play basketball. Â I'm giving my team the rest of this week and next week to turn it around, and if it, it's firesale time.
Cuban Linx Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Well my team's clearly not as good as my 5th place would indicate, i got fat beating up shit teams, but i'm being bent over and rammed up the ass this week, down 7-1. Â I'm really lucky to be anywhere after a drafted stupid. Jason Terry ain't worth a 2nd round pick and last i checked he was in Atlanta's dog house, Big Dog was always just asking for trouble, as was drafting Mourning and his kidneys, not to mention Doug Christie and his lack of any stats whatsoever. One of my few decent picks, Chris Bosh, i of course dropped right before he got good. Â I'm only alive thanks to other people's questionable moves and the godliness of Kevin Garnett. I can't thank whoever dropped Nene and Q-Rich enough.
Agent_Bond34 Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I can't thank whoever dropped Nene and Q-Rich enough. You can thank me for dropping Q-Rich.
alfdogg Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I drafted Eddy Curry when Brad Miller was still available. Â Quit yer bitchin, everyone.
Cuban Linx Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Well now that i've picked him up i hope Eddy Curry turns into the monster he was supposed to be and gives you something else to regret.
the pinjockey Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 How am I in 1st right now? Seriously... It doesn't hurt that in the 8 completed weeks you have already played 6 of the bottom 7 teams in the league. Â But also you have a shitload of steals, Wallace brings the blocks, Wallace and Dampier bring the boards, Marbury brings a ton of assists and a bunch of people can hit a three for you. So while you may not have a ton of star power, pretty much everyone on the team provides at least one or two non-point stats. So you are typically going to go into every week with a 5-3 advantage from the start.
razazteca Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 I shall be #1 by Monday with a 3 game lead.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Man, its just my luck that my #1 AND #2 picks go down with injury right when I face the better teams in the league. I've gone from 15 above .500 to (probably) below .500 in just two weeks.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 My team is sort of getting it together, we've been competitive with the top teams the past few weeks and can beat the lower teams with ease. Sadly, we're in the limbo hell that is middle of the pack. We can be annoying and a bother at times but rarely ever a big problem. I curse you Eddie Jones for being the most inconsistent player ever.
Sandman9000 Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 So, James Posey goes on waviers, and I put a claim on him. I check the next day, and it's not me that has him, it's the number one team in the league that does! The fuck? I thought that the lower ranked team had priority on waivers, not from top down. Â Ron Artest finally loses it and clashes with Carlsile, causing Artest to be benched for the whole second half and in the dog house for who knows how long. There goes my best player, and that's saying a lot. Â Charlie Ward plays all of 3 minutes and does shit, so he's gone for someone else who can't do shit. Â I'm sure I'll get killed next week as well, since I have a team which needs to overachieve just to stay competitive with the lower teams. Â I fucked my whole draft up, took a round 3-4 player with my first pick, showed no patience or common sense or eye for talent, and I'm paying in spades. Â If this team doesn't have a 180 next week, I'm dumping the whole lot, first offers get what they want. I'll dump Artest, Yao, Gasol, McInnis, Stoudamire, etc...for bench players if people want. Â This team has a week before I dump them.
the pinjockey Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Could you just keep a lineup and then just not check it anymore, as opposed to giving players away. I hate it when bottom teams always do that in every league, and it always turns into bitching and bullshit.
razazteca Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 I thought that the lower ranked team had priority on waivers, not from top down. I think it has something to do who made the request 1st and draft position. Â And please do not dump the whole team.
the pinjockey Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Yeah, I think the waiver system is based on draft position. Then once you get one guy, you go to the back of the line. I don't know if Yahoo has a setup where you can change that.
Cuban Linx Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Well, my ass kicking is complete as i go down 7-1 to the Guerreros. That's just the entree though, as now i get to go up against the 1st place Whalers on the Moon for a second beatdown. And if there's anything left of my team after that, the week after i get the 3rd place Celtics for dessert. Â Jerry Stackhouse, if you ever plan on making a comeback this season (not that i'd be rushing to return to the crap-ass Wizards), now would be a REAL good time.
alfdogg Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 If you want to dump your whole team too, I'll be glad to take Garnett off your hands.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I would like to offer Cuban Linx a ham sandwich for Kevin Garnett. This offer leaves the table at noon central time on Tuesday, December 30th. Don't regret what you don't have come the next day. Make the deal. That is all.
razazteca Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I offer a Ham & Cheese sandwich with a bag of chips of your choice for Big Kev.
Lightning Flik Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I offer a Ham & Cheese sandwich with a bag of chips of your choice for Big Kev. I see your offer and raise it by a can ... no a litre ... no TWO litres of pop for Big Kev!
razazteca Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Now I think a 3 liter is too much soda buddy. I'll put up a 40 ounce of Pineapple & Orange Fago, the official beverage of the Juggalos on the offer sheet.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 Okay, the sandwich, the drink, the chips AND a sensual massage. Not given by me, but given by New York Knicks superstar, Dikembe Mutumbo. You know the right choice. Make it.
