They're the crown princes of animation. They're the international ambassadors of cartoon comedy. They're the fabulously funny friends you grew up with! And now, 56 of the very best animated shorts starring the very wackiest Warner Bros. cartoon characters have been rounded up on DVD for the first time ever in The Looney Tunes Golden Collection!

Just barely contained in four special edition discs, each specially selected short has been brilliantly restored and re-mastered to its original, uncut, anvil-dropping, laughter-inducing glory! Featuring some of the very earliest, ground-breaking on-screen appearances of many all-time Looney Tunes favorites, it's an unprecedented celebration for cartoon-lovers eager to re-live the heady, hilarious, golden age of Warner Bros. animation! Sparkling with one unforgettable, landmark animated marvel after another, there's that icon of carrot-crunching aplomb, Bugs Bunny, in a dazzling assortment of his very best classic shorts. Also highlighted in their own delightfully zany series of cartoon gems: the ever-flustered Daffy Duck and eternal straight-man Porky Pig. Plus, all the rest of the beloved Looney Tunes lineup starring in some of the most wildly imaginative cartoon shorts ever created!

Including an array of exclusive bonus DVD features from expert commentaries to insights into the evolution of these classic characters, this is the ultimate animated experience for anyone who's ever thrilled to the timeless query: "Ehhh? what's up, Doc?"

Is there only one Speedy Gonzales short on there?

Still, I'd get the set, but between Transformers S3 part 1, Deep Space Nine S5&6, Friends S5, WWE Cage matches AND the Indiana Jones Trilogy out or coming out within the next 28 days I don't have the money. And I still haven't bought the Beast Wars or SBtB sets yet!!

This set rules it. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, DH, as I will assuredly purchase it.

Oh my God, I am so getting this.

The only one I can see that's noticeably missing is Duck! Rabbit! Duck!, the third in the Bugs/Daffy/Elmer trilogy including Rabbit Fire (Rabbit season! DUCK SEASON!!) and Rabbit Seasoning.

Are they the original cartoons, or the edited versions that have been airing over the last 15 years or so?

I can see putting the violence and gunplay (mock suicides and the like) back in, but something tells me the blackface jokes (which I remember, somehow, were still left in some of the cartoons as later as '90 or so) will remain cut out.

Why didn't Daffy get a solo disc to himself.

Because Bugs is the draw, Daffy is the semi-main in between runs at the top. It's like asking why Hulk Hogan gets his own Video and Jake Roberts doesn't.

Jake Roberts got his own video...just saying.

I'm there for the set, as well, but I'm surprised some of you are acting like this is current news. These were in the making a year ago and the official sets were announced months ago.
