BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 This week's edition of Raw scored a 3.6 cable rating, with a 5 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show did hours of 3.3 and 3.8. That is up from last week's 3.4 and considering the competition that it went up against from the Yankees-Red Sox game on Fox (which did an 11.6 broadcast rating) and NFL football on ABC (8.4 broadcast rating), it's a good number. The higest rated segment on the show was the 4.2 that the overrun did. 1wrestling.com
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Mark Henry IS a draw. Maybe not but i'm kinda shocked since it had Baseball and MNF...

Papacita 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Hot crowd and some fairly interesting (though somewhat confusing) storylines. I'd say it was a good Raw overall.
Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Maybe not but i'm kinda shocked since it had Baseball and MNF... I'm not Smackdown had more competition last week and got a 3.6 broadcast rating which would be equal to a 4.5 cable rating for Raw. WWE usually benefits from tough competition because there are more people watching TV, thus more channel surfers who might tune in to either show.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 right...Let's just see how this HUGE world title match sells next week since we know Shawn hasn't been a damn draw since he came back and Goldberg is shifty as hell draw wise...
JN News 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 The only reason why this weeks show got high ratings is because of NO HHH. RAW w/o HHH=RATINGS!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 High Ratings? 3.6 is pretty low compared to what Kane was pulling in for that seven week streach last summer...
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Hot crowd and some fairly interesting (though somewhat confusing) storylines. I'd say it was a good Raw overall. Your definition of "good" is baffling. Because I saw: - Your IC champ getting used to put Austin over - Austin beating on women and coming off looking really bad - An unescessarily long and confusing 8 man tag - More retarded shit involving Kane and Shane - Not delivering on Maven vs Flair - The usual womens match shitfest Good stuff all around. It was fun as hell to dischiper the Paul Heyman on Crack booking though... Seriously, Who expected Flair and Henry to team up of all combos?

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Seriously, given the LOW rating last week, this week would be up by default and is STILL below yearly average and especially below quarterly avg.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Yeah, because lord knows it worked for V1. If the group gets a real name and only focuses on hating Austin then it will work just like the Hart vs Austin angle. I can see a Survivor Series tag match foundation being set: Canadians vs Austin & Dudleys
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Chris Jericho is not Bret Hart. The fans have no connection to Chris and seeing him turn would not carry the shock value that it did back when Bret turned.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Now that I think about it I kinda liked RAW. I could give two shits about Henry or Shane...but I didn't doze off. And for Raw that's honestly something for me
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Whoa Whoa Whoa.. First Cena vs. Angle and now this? Two Hart vs. Austin angle's in one promotion at one time??? Could we handle all that greatness??
razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 I am saying now that this rehash angle will work better now because it is not solely working on cheap patriotic heat like the last time.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 14, 2003 How the hell is this Austin Vs Hart? Austin just HATED bret and The foundation Hated aUSTIN... Jericho wants Austin FIRED and Austin doesn't give a shit about Jericho and plays by his rules... No connection between the two other then the fact Jericho has a couple canucks with him for the moment...

Guest Just J Report post Posted October 14, 2003 The main reason for the jump in ratings is everyone was expecting Nash to return to collect the bounty! Well that's why I watched at least.

There were things about the show I didn't like (Austin's involvement in the the RVD/Steiner/Stacy thing at all--they could've used Booker T or someone else to make the save, but I can see where they're headed with the Austin thing, so I won't complain--the Kane made no sense to me whatsoever...maybe because I slept through half of it, I dunno...the 8 man wasn't THAT bad IMO, although it was obviously just thrown in there to kill time, there was no need for the table stip, and Booker SHOULD'VE beaten Christian, not Conway to win the match...and the Rosie segments were stupid, but harmless), but they didn't take away from the show for me, and overall, I came away with a good feel from it. -I liked the stuff with HBK, Goldberg and Evolution. I could've done without the recycled material (the attempted hit and run and the falling boxes), but I have a soft spot for Face Vs Face feuds, especially those "Can Face A really trust Face B" type angles, and Flair constantly egging Shawn on was great. -Austin beating a woman...the announcer's made it come off worse than it really was by downplaying that Austin was wrong in attacking Stacy (somewhat understandable, because they didn't wanna turn him heel), but I can see that they did it in order to build up Jericho's case against him, so I didn't really mind it, and I'm actually interested to see how it plays out. -As for Maven and Flair...I had actually forgotten that the match was made until Flair came out before Maven's match, so it didn't matter to me. Flair's post match attack made me laugh too, because I was expecting him to do the whole "I'll kick your ass when I'm healthy" thing when Maven was headed backstage, then hit him with the crutch as soon as his back was turned. Just the fact that Ric was all "I can't believe you'd question my injury" then suddenly dropped the crutch and SPRINTED down the aisle had me dying. I wish they wouldn't have telegraphed the post-match attack though, because when I saw Flair in crutches, I thought he was injured legit. And the hot crowd really helped the show out a lot. Nothing horrendously bad (IMO), and I was actually entertained for a change. That's all I ask for.
