If you liked Season 2, you will LOVE Season 3, which is my favorite of the bunch. My favorite eps of season 1 are:

Teachers Pet, where Xander falls in love with the Preying Mantis teacher

The Pack, where Xander is possessed by the Hyenas

Nightmares, where everyones Nightmares are coming true

For Season 2, I love:

School Hard, where Spike takes over the school

Halloween, where everyones Halloween costumes take over

Innocence, where they kill the Judge

Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered, where Xander casts the love spell (guilty pleasure-funny episode)

Both Becomings, where Buffy and crew fight and kill Angelus

You also will probably love a few of the season 4 eps, and season 5 as well.

I thought the finish to Season Two was awesome.

The one with the killing of Jenny was crazy though. I haven't seen a BAD episode yet, but the season two finalle and Nightmares have been my favourites.

Passion (Jenny dies) is just overall a great ep. You have Jenny dying right before she's able to cure Angel. You have Giles rampage after finding her body. And to me the best part is Angel looking through the window doing the voice over while Buffy and Willow get the call that Jenny died.

And you don't know it yet cause you haven't see season 3. But Richard Wilkins III KICKS ASS!

You're in for a treat, Sparky.

PS. TED from season 2 is great as well.

Ted rocked !

Oh don't ruin season three please ! That guy looks cool.

Anyways, I thought that Angel looking through at Buffy and Willow was an EXTRORDINARY scene. It's the little things that make an episode.

But the thing that stood out in Nightmares ... THE CLOWN ! I mark out every time I see something like that.

That scene is absolutely brilliant. One of my all time favorites.

"Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love...the clarity of hatred...and the ecstasy of grief."

"Prophecy Girl" from Season One is a favorite of mine. That is the season finale. Buffy flipping out is a top moment in my book.

And Season Three does indeed have some great stuff to look forward to.

NOthing is being ruined... Principal Snyder already made reference to the guy in the picture... his identity isn't THAT big of a mystery

I am assuming that this guy is the dreaded MAYOR~! that I'm supposed to give a flying fuck about.

This guy seems as if he is gonna be UBER-EVIL ! Season Three is continually called the best, so I can't wait to see what happens.

I don't know if anyone watches Las Vegas on NBC, but on last Monday's episode, I was shocked to see Harry Groener (the mayor). I marked out cause I knew him from Buffy. From the role he played in the episode, it doesn't look like he'll be on the show much, but he might make one or two more appearances. It's a good show, btw.

Yeah, he does. He's still very mayor-like... although he plays a foreign chef/restaurant owner.

I liked 4 also. I can't believe how much people crap on it, when it's the season that produced Hush, Superstar, and Restless. Plus you've got Adam, who in my opinion is second only behind Glory in terms of ass-kicking villains. (Sorry, but Mayor Wilkins mostly sat back and let his underlings do all the work.) I get the feeling that the ones who hate Season 4 so much are the kind of people who bitch about how Mike Nelson is so much worse than Joel Hodgson on MST3K; rabid fanboys who want the show to stay the same forever and can't deal with change. Yeah, Riley isn't Angel, and Tara isn't Oz, and Anya isn't Cordy, and the university isn't the high school. Whine whine whine, grow up already.

I think most people hated it because it had such a weak overall big bad arc than the previous three. Take a look:

Season 1: Buffy struggles to work with her friends, adjust to school, adjust to her new city, but still has to work on her powers enough to defeat an ancient super-Vampire

Season 2: Buffy has to fight her lover-turned-huge evil Angel as he tries to send Earth into hell

Season 3: Demonic man, centuries old, turns Buffy's slayer counterpart against her and it takes the entire town uprising to stop him as he tries to take over the world by turning into a demon

Season 4: A government made military group called the Initiative makes a monster, monster turns bad, Buffy kills him dead.

Gee, wow.

Which is basically the exact same plot as the original movie, which wasn't all that good.

Season 2: Buffy has to fight her lover-turned-huge evil Angel as he tries to send Earth into hell

But he doesn't turn huge evil until waaaay into the season, just a few episodes before the finale. That's not a great overall story arc.

But Wilkins would've gotten his ass kicked in a straight-up fight with Buffy, or hell, even with Xander if it was before he got the invulnerability thing. Yeah, he gets points for mind games and manipulation, but he just didn't come off as really evil to me. Although I will give extra points for the last battle; the graduation robes come off and BOOM, major markout.

Season 4: A government made military group called the Initiative makes a monster, monster turns bad, Buffy kills him dead.

Gee, wow.

They didn't do as much with Adam as they could, true. I wish they'd started him off a little sooner in the season. But still, he was a fascinating character, taking Frankenstein's monster to the next logical level. And no, Buffy didn't just kill him dead; Adam knocked her around like a rag doll every time they met, and she had to take some pretty drastic special measures to finish him.

My main problem with season 4 was the guy who played Forrest. He was tolerable in I think one episode, but he just got worse and worse.

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

The worst performance I've ever seen in Buffy was him when he was all Adam-like. That was just horrible!

Yeah, you can't really forget the fact that Buffy had absolutely no way of hurting Adam until well... the episode where she killed him (I don't want to say what happened because it will spoil it for the guy who started this thread and everyone else knows what happened).

When I first saw season 4, I'll admit... I shit on it a bit. But then I watched it again on DVD (just finished it up the other day actually) and I have a new respect for it. I can't really say that there are any seasons that I just don't like.

Haha, I hated how he looked then!

He turns evil in episode 12, Surprise, after screwing Buffy in episode 11, Innocence. So, for 10 out of 22 episodes, he is evil.

Angelus is so awesome. I legitimately believe that he could carry an entire movie where he is the main villain.
