WWE Tries To Resign RVD

Recommended Posts

This whole RVD thing, IMO, breaks down like this:

If WWE gave RVD the opportunity to leave today...based on his own words and the fact that he won't be starving for work...he'd go.

Starting from that point, what does Vince have to give him to stay?

He has under 8 months to answer that question.

Speaking as someone who can't get TNA due to my location (in Britain, although i believe a wrestling channel should start soon - give it a few months and it might come to my cable distributor, and TNA MIGHT be on that), I would be disappointed if RVD left Raw.

Then again, I think that the jump of one relatively big-name superstar from WWE to TNA which was obviously of his own accord (as opposed to the release of Raven and D'Lo) might REALLY start to heat things up and boost TNA. So in that sense, I'm for it.

Rob Van Dam has been making many media appearances lately where he has been vocal about his unhappiness with how WWE has been pushing him. RVD had an interview with Get In The Ring that will air Sunday. Word is that he pulls no punches in that interview about his feelings towards WWE right now.

RVD's contract with WWE expires next summer and it seems as if, right now at least, a chance remains that he could opt to leave WWE then.

Word is that RVD is considering a mix of working TNA shows as well as regular stints in Japan.

Latest word is plans are for the channel to start in January '04 and be available to all Sky Digital subscribers at no extra cost. BTW, TNA *will* be a part of the channel.

I heard it had been delayed till March (it was originally going to beging airing this month). Said to be going to include TNA, CZW, ROH, NOAH, NJPW and a bunch more. Sounds good, but I wouldn't hold your breath, it could well end up being delayed to nothingness, and I for one have yet to see anything official confirming it's existence.

Good for Rob to play hardball with this. I know most RVD fans are hoping that he doesn't resign, but I am hoping he does as I don't get anything else but WWE. The way I look at it, if he does resign, Vince obviously offered him something good enough not to go. IMO, RVD resigning=RVD push. If WWE doesn't offer anything, than fuck 'em. It's not like Rob won't be successful somewhere else. Who knows, maybe with Hogan going to TNA, and maybe Rob, TNA could get a TV deal. Longshot maybe, but still something to hope for.

NEW UPDATE FROM THE TORCH SITE.

HUGE NEWS:

-Rob Van Dam's contract negotiations with WWE have been pretty strained. So in a peace offering at his last sit down discussion with management, Rob offered them a plate of fresh baked brownies he had made. By the end of the meeting, officials had offered Van Dam a multi-million dollar contract, ordered a pie from Dominoes and settled down for a SpongeBob Squarepants marathon.

Goldberg did beat the top guy on RAW. But he's been mishandled for 90% of his tenure and he's still over.

That's only because Goldberg's contract specifically stated that he gets a world title win + reign. I bet you anything if you were to go up to casual marks on the street, a majority of them would take RVD over Goldberg.

The last time I saw you being so convinced about something in connection with RVD, it was way back in the first Elimination Chamber match :P

This is bad for the WWE. I know there are smarks out there who aren't big fans of RVD's wrestling but that's actually the reason they need to hold on to him. RVD pops newbie to seasoned viewers with his wrestling. His offence that completely stands out from the Raw roster gets pops from them and the crowd which keeps them interested in the wrestling side of the product. Put simply-"His offence is cool, man!"

Rob + Sting + Hogan = TNA cable deal.

TNA on tv means the wrestlers have another option, which is good. TNA on tv means Vince has competition, which is good.

RUN ROB RUN!

If RVD goes to TNA he will be allow to have the freedom that he's lacking in WWE and he will definitely will get a shot for the NWA title, but in my personal opinion he'll be considered another WWE castoff that didn't make it really big in Vince's world, once you make it as a world champion in WWE you could make it anywhere. But whatever choice he makes i will still be an RVD fan no matter what.

Speaking of contracts, I have heard from quite a few people that WWE has started talks with Rob Van Dam about signing a contract extension but thus far, it hasn’t gone anywhere. Whether that is why, after months of being used poorly, RVD was finally given the Intercontinental Title is a matter of conjecture.

I hope RVD goes to TNA..... & tell's Vinny Mac where to stick his new contract,

If RVD did go to TNA there would be a lot of interest & a really good reason to tune into TNA week in week out :D

imagine it folk's: RVD vs Christopher Daniels, RVD vs AJ Styles........ the list goes on & on of good matches he could have with the wrestlers in TNA :D

Rob in WWE > Rob in ECW.

I hope they impose restrictions on his taunting so he can work a proper match.

It's not as if he can work a proper match even without the stalling etc. but TNA would suit him better as they would let him do more extreme spots.

RVD is over with the fans wherever he goes, if he doesn't sign up again with WWE it would be a shame b/c i would've loved to see him getting a world title run(which i doubt it would've happened)but if he goes to TNA i would take my business to the NWA and inmediately will stop watching RAW.

I wonder what Vince would do if Rob said he'd take less money, for a world title reign?

Tell him to shove it, hopefully. I hope the Vince learned from the Ultimate Warrior Title Reign.
