Dangerous A Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Here are some news bits from the 10/20/03 Observer -Next movie rumored for Rock is Terminator 4. Apparantly there have been meetings to do this even though T3 was slightly disappointing. (grossing around 150 mill) Arnold said he won't do moview for the next several years and suggested Rock for the role. The talks were to do release in the summer of 2005, which would mean work would be done next year. -A deal has been finalized for Rock to star in combo with cartoon and live characters in a comedy called "Instant Karma". He'll play a safe cracker who dies, and is reincarnated as a series of animals. It is a New Line Cinema project with a $70 million budget and will start filming in April. Because he has another committment for earlier in the spring, it makes his chances of him working Mania a long shot. -HHH is scheduled to get married next week, take a 2 week honeymoon, and be back on TV and house shows for a few weeks to build for Survivor Series and then goes back to filming his second movie. -Survivor Series on 11/16 in Dallas at this point looks to be Goldberg vs HHH, Vince vs Taker in a buried alive match, and Kane vs Shane in some sort of gimmick match. (yeah, more McMahon-0-Mania, nice to see they aren't going away anytime soon) -Bobby Heenan talked with Vince last week, basically telling him his health is good and he is interested in doing something and brought up wanting to do Mania. Vince told him, "I'll see you at Wrestlemania, if not sooner". They casually talked about some sort of television role.(crosses fingers and prays Heenan takes Lawler's spot) There has also been talk of Heenan working the TNA big show with one idea being as ref for Hogan vs Jarrett. Thoughts or comments?
BoboBrazil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Can you post the TNA news in the TNA section please? I won't get it until tomorrow or Monday. This issue sounds like it has alot of good tna stuff.
Guest IB2BLACK Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I read in Entertainment Weekly, that Rock is making $15 million a film and he maybe getting $20 million a film. Fuck wrestling, if you can that kind of cash for 2-3 months of work. Furthermore, he can do 3 movies a year. Imagine $45-$60 million in a year.
KTID Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Is it that far fetched that he might *want* to wrestle.
Guest Fook Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Please Bobby, come back and show Lawler how it's done.
Damaramu Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Yes yes it is. Why would a wrestler want to wrestle!? HAHAHA! Anyways....jeez...what's with all the wrestlers breaking into acting. It seems to be all the bad workers(save rock) doing it to. Hell that'd be great if all the bad workers did it and left the good workers to rule the WWE.
Damaramu Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I can see it now..... JR: AUSTIN! AUSTIN! AUSTIN! That rattlesnake just struck! Bobby: WHOO! COME ON ROSS! GIVE ME A BIG ONE! WHOOO! JR: You make me sick...with the blatant Ric Flair love. Where's your integrity? Bobby: Blatant Ric Flair love? I'm not the one that bought him a box of chocalates! Yeah I saw you leaving Hallmark with the chocalates and love card to Austin! Course it was half eaten by the time he got it..... Ghost of Gorilla Monsoon: WILL YOU STOP!
BoboBrazil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I wonder if his voice is back to normal.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I don't want Bobby to come back. He deserves better.
Downhome Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 -Bobby Heenan talked with Vince last week, basically telling him his health is good and he is interested in doing something and brought up wanting to do Mania. That's the fucking best news I've heard in a while. I'm so glad that Bobby overcome his cancer and is ready to come back in one way or another. That just really makes me happy to hear. I'm such a huge fan of his, it's just great. With that said, I wish he had a better WWE product to work with.
razazteca Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I have no problems if Bobby Heenan gets the guest announcer spot for teh worst match of the night on Raw.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Has Bobby's voice recovered? Because in the XIX promos he sounded bad.
Guest Choken One Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I'm glad McMahon openly welcomed Bobby to be at Mania...showing he is taking this seriously...
BoboBrazil Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Dangerous A, who was the former star looking to come out of retirement Meltzer was talking about? It was probably Heenan eh?
AndrewTS Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I can see it now..... JR: AUSTIN! AUSTIN! AUSTIN! That rattlesnake just struck! Bobby: WHOO! COME ON ROSS! GIVE ME A BIG ONE! WHOOO! At least it would make the shows more watchable.
AndrewTS Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Has Bobby's voice recovered? Because in the XIX promos he sounded bad. Several months ago it was reported he's completely cancer free. Not sure about his voice, though.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I would also like The Brain to return.
NoCalMike Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I am sure Heenan would be disgusted by the current WWE situation.
Guest Choken One Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 no he wouldn't, he likely has AMPLE material now.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 -Bobby Heenan talked with Vince last week, basically telling him his health is good and he is interested in doing something and brought up wanting to do Mania. Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I remember reading a Heenan interview a few months ago where he said that he was amazed that WWE retained *any* sponsors after the Katie Vick shiite.
Silence Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 JR:"Stone Cold jest stunned Stacy! Bah Gawd!" Heenan:"What a hypocrite! He told Steiner he was stupid for hitting a woman, yet Stone Cold did it anyway!" JR:"That's jest Stone Cold for ya, Brain!" Heenan:"Then I guess when The Hardy Boyz and Lita cheated to win their matches, that was just them too, wasn't it?" JR, trying to sound like Gorilla Monsoon, but failing miserably:"WOULD YEW STOP?!"
2GOLD Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Knowing Vince, he'll have Coach beat The Brain up.
haVoc Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Heenan should stay away, unless he needs the money. The best part about the teams of Heenan, Vince and Gorilla were they would play off of each other back then when the shows were live. Today he'll have 10 people yelling in his ear feeding him his lines.
Kardo Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Just imagine Ventura on commentary now... Pointing out every error and problem like back in the day. Nothing beats the Warrior DQ rant at Summerslam 1989 that made Tony cower.
Lil' Bitch Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Survivor Series on 11/16 in Dallas at this point looks to be Goldberg vs HHH FUCK YOU WWE!
Toxxic Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 JR:"Stone Cold jest stunned Stacy! Bah Gawd!" Heenan:"What a hypocrite! What? An announcer who talks sense on Raw? You've got to be kidding me! At least on Smackdown we have Tazz, although he's even better on Velocity because he knows none of the management watch so he can break kayfabe as often as he likes. *under breath* pleasefirelawlerpleasefirelawlerbringinsomeonewho'snotobsessedwithbreastspleasefirelawlerpleasefirelawler...
Guest Askewniverse Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Survivor Series on 11/16 in Dallas at this point looks to be Goldberg vs HHH FUCK YOU WWE! Heh, now you know how I felt when I went to Unforgiven. I've said it before, but it's probably not a good decision to buy tickets to a PPV in advance. You never know what kind of crap that they will book. At least you'll get to see HHH win...maybe.
Damaramu Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 JR:"Stone Cold jest stunned Stacy! Bah Gawd!" Heenan:"What a hypocrite! Heenan:"Then I guess when The Hardy Boyz and Lita cheated to win their matches, that was just them too, wasn't it?" JR, trying to sound like Gorilla Monsoon, but failing miserably:"WOULD YEW STOP?!" That sounds more like something Ventura would say than Bobby. Bobby usually made fun of the faces and cheered on the heels. Jesse usually called Gorilla out on his hypocrisy.
