i guess the next SD! only ppv is no way out... i will skip the next three and save my money to get that and WMXX... screw RAW...

You'd skip the Rumble? The last 4 years it's been a consistantly good show.

exactly...

2003-Benoit/Angle and 30 minutes of rumble

2002-Jericho/Rock and Good rumble

2001-Jericho/Benoit and Good rumble

2000-Foley/HHH an GREAT rumble

Rumble fail to NOT entertain 90% of the time...99 is the lone exception really...

From WWE.com

ZACH GOWEN DEFEATED MATT HARDY

With his signature Shooting Star Press, Zach

Gowen scored his first singles victory as a contracted WWE Superstar.

Za? Hiring on air personalities with no wrestling knowledge is one thing, but their internet team can't distinguish certain moves?

And Vince McMachon's profile is on the Smackdown! page for some reason . Hmmmm

hmmm the first reader scores from the Torch are 1.0, 7.0, 2.0, 6.0. 7.0, 7.0, 6.0, 6.0 and 5.0 amongst the writers so opinions are varied. Sounds like an above average show at best but I can't see it appraoching Venegance which had 3 **** matches and 1 or 2 over *** as well.

The worse thing was.....Zach couldn't beat Shannon...but could beat Matt.

which should lead to a Matt face turn that he hinted at...

he's on the torch writers committee?

I'd think SK would dig the Lunchataker and Benoit going over clean parts...

Well, it WAS a fluke pin (and I'm sure he'll come out on Thursday and reiterate that same point).

Oh that's from the writers committee. I thought it was fan ratings. Nevermind....

the first few were reader scores. Here I'll copy the opinions of "the unwashed masses" here:

John Capuano of Philadelphia Pa. (1.0): I hate to give this a 1.0, because there was at least one match that I thought was good, and that was the Angle vs. Cena match, but the bad tonight outweighed the good by far too much. The rest of the PPV, I thought was very very lame. Well, maybe not only one, but with the exception of Tajiri vs. Mysterio and Cena vs. Angle, the rest of the show wasn't good at all. Normally, when Benoit and Guerrero are on the PPV, you're guaranteed at least two good matches, and tonight, we barley even got that. They made Guerrero job to Big Show and stuck Benoit with the failure, A-Train. After the Guerrero match, I was like, "Hey maybe this means that Guerrero will get a World Title push now." After I said that, Eddie and Chavo were arguing so it looks like WWE is going to start an Eddie-Chavo feud. Add Guerrero to the latest list of talent WWE can't book right, even though he is over huge and will still be the WWE's latest lost opportunity. The Tajiri vs. Mysterio match was a good match, but I mean come on, these are supposed to be cruiserweights. Shouldn't they be doing more high-flying stuff like NWA-TNA's X-Division? This is the worst 35 bucks I've ever sent on a WWE PPV, and I will assure you, I won't be buying a WWE show again anytime soon. Thank god for ROH, TNA, and MLW. Without those, I think I'd go insane. WWE seriously needs to straighten themselves out ASAP. If Paul Heyman was watching tonight, he's pulling the hair out of his head, well, the hair that he has left anyway. He can't have that much hair left if he's been watching WWE for the past few months.

Holly Scofield of Milford, Conn. (7.0): Best Match Tie: Kurt Angle vs. John Cena and Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker. Worst Match: Basham Brothers vs. APA. In all fairness, I have to say I missed half of the Basham Brothers match and the Vince Stephanie match due to a phone call and I fell asleep during the Big Show vs. Eddie Guerrero match. However, based on what I saw I would say this was a fair PPV. Kurt Angle and John Cena really delivered an excellent match. The fans were divided on who to cheer for, and actually after having met both of them and found them to be really great guys, I was divided, too. I do like Angle's character better and am glad he won. Both of these superstars put on a great match. Undertaker and Brock Lesnar's match was exciting but the ending all too predictable. I knew it was just a matter of time before McMahon would interfere. The opening match was exciting and I have a feeling we will be hearing more about those fans run in in weeks to come. All in all, not bad, but certainly not the best, and I am definitely not certain it was worth $35.

Mike Rome of Los Angeles, Calif. (2.0): God this show was awful. The opening match was not as good as either of their Smackdown matches, and the legwork and armwork didn't go anywhere. I was hoping this would be the four star match of the night, but it didn't even hit three. Taker-Brock, Guerrero-Big Show, Bashams-APA were all god awful. And, just to put a cherry on top of all the shit, Albert almost killed Chris Benoit. Angle-Cena was the highlight of the night, but are they ever going to elevate anyone? One match over three stars, and a bunch of matches at around the DUD level. This honestly felt like I was watching Uncensored 2000.

Matt Riggs of Ridgeview, W. Va. - Torch Newsletter/VIP subscriber, (6.0): Best Match: Angle-Cena, Worst Match: APA-Bashams. This pay per view is the first time since Backlash 2001 that I have found myself pondering over why I bought it. It just simply wasn't worth thirty five dollars in my opinion. This pay-per-view was the worst one since they started dividing up the pay-per-views. A lot of these matches just seem so unimportant, like a bunch of regular television matches, nothing worth paying money to see. I see that Undertaker is preparing for WrestleMania XX by beginning to grow his hair back out obviously to reprise the "Dead Man gimmick" that made him famous. That is fine and his feud with Vince is fine, but he has to stay out of twenty minute main event matches, he was going so slow in that match. I have been critical of Angle's praise by most lately, because I have not found his and Lesnar's matches very good, but Angle and Cena had a very good match, I just think Cena needs a new finisher. The F-U was cool when he was feuding with Lesnar, but he's not anymore and it seems like a cheap rip off of a move. The DDT on the apron was awesome, I was worried about Angle when that happened because it looked dangerous. Vince and Stephanie was what it was. If I was TNA, I would make sure Hulk Hogan was signed to a contract, because I wouldn't be that surprised if Linda introduced him as the new General Manager. My biggest complaint with this pay-per-view was Tazz. I think he is one of the worst color analysts in history, and like Angle and Lesnar's matches, I feel that he is very overrated. All he does is sit down there and act like a coach and it really annoys me. He needs to learn how to do it and remain in a heel like fashion like Jesse Ventura used to. I don't see how anyone can criticize Jerry Lawler when comparing him to Tazz. Lawler throws in his one liners, he can pronounce words correctly, and gives some advice while commentating, but it's not the main part of his act like it is Tazz's. I'm expecting this pay-per-view to get the lowest buyrate this year.

Taker's La Majistral had to be the worst one I've ever seen. There were some cool spots, like the Triangle choke and the huge chokeslam, but it seemed dumb to go for Johnny Ace finishes before the chain even came into play, because you just knew it wasn't over. That's why I hate "on a pole" matches, the whole match doesn't matter until the item comes into play. The big dive onto the FBI was really awesome, though I fail to see the point in having C-level talent interfering in the main event. Nobody likes the FBI, and nobody really dislikes them either. They're just "there".

I was really disappointed in Rey-Tajiri too. There were some cool spots, but all of the armwork lead nowhere, and by the end of the match Rey wasn't selling the arm anymore, and the legwork on Tajiri didn't even affect him on his big kick at the end of the match, or at any other point, for that matter. I guess I'm being a "workrate snob", but why have wrestlers randomly work body parts if it's not going anywhere?

Vince-Steph had mad heat, and it was fine for what it was. They already have an insta-copout for her return, because she can say she didn't quit. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought "I Quit" matches were already no holds barred?

they were there to distract Taker for Vince...Vince put in the guys he wouldn't care about naturally...makes perfect sense...
