Orlando has now lost 16 in a row.

Right now it would be funny how much turnover would occur if these contracts weren't iron clad like in the NFL. At least then they could bring in people who want to play.

I know they had a lot of turnover from last season, but show some pride, don't just roll over.

Just saw this on ESPN,

Bonzi Wells has been traded to the Memphis Grizz for Wesley Person and a #1 Pick.

Bonzi Wells and Hubie Brown on the same team... pure comedy.

Yeah. Sure has been hasn't it.

General Apathy never seen since the late 70's and HORRIBLE embarasing playing.

I'm not surprised to see Bonzi gone from Portland, with Randolph emerging big time he essentailly made one of Wells, Rasheed Wallace and Derek Anderson expendable, and with his attitude problems Wells was always going to be the first to go, especially since he's been underperforming this season.

And after watching their game vs. the Cavs Denver really has shot blocking out the ass. Marcus Camby, Chris Andersen, Francisco Elson, Nene, even Carmelo's averaging just under a block a game, between them they average over 7.5 blocks a game, and i'd expect a fully healthy Nene to move up to averaging 1+ blocks a game sooner or later.

The East is for the most part horribly embarassing, but their bright spots are very very bright and the west continues to entertain the hell out of me, so it's hardly embarassing.

Hell, watching Baron Davis make EVERYONE his bitch is great fun all by itself.

Ripper, I understand what your saying, but I just don't remember seeing any sportswriters calling Arenas one of the best pg's or anything like that. The fact is that Arenas is a tripple double threat every night, he can pass very well, he's no different then say a Stevie Francis or Stephon Malbury, two guys who are considered top 5 pg's. Their aren't even that many pgs in the league right now who don't score.

And what are you talking about with Larry Hughes? He's playing his natural posistion of SG and having a good year.

And why would anybody think the Celtics have a better team than the Wizards. Honestly who do they have besides Baker and Pierce?

And btw, name 18 pg's in the league better than Arenas. I don't think anybody in the WORLD would agree with that outside of yourself. Have you even seen Arenas play? I honestly don't think you know much about the Wizards if your thinking that Hughes plays PG. Do you assume that he's a bad pg cause of turnovers? Jason Kidd and Stevie Frances led the league in turnovers last year buddy, it's just a result of an uptempo game.

The Wizards are better than the Magic because they have a better coach, a better system, and a way better bench. When Stack and Arenas get back their a playoff team for sure.

Thats like saying Scottie wasn't playing the point in Chicago. Hughes is calling the plays, bringing ball up, setting the tempo. He is playing the point.

I do agree he is having a good year.

I personally think that if they had gilber set the pace (incredibly FAST 100% of the time) they would be a better team. And Jarvis Hayes is a better investment than Stack is.....I say keep Jarvis at the starting spot at the SF when JS get back honestly. I know, it sounds nuts, but hey, Hayes is my TRUE rookie of the year pick (although we all know Lebron is going to get it, deserve it or not).

And there is a HUGE difference between a scoring point (marbury) and a two guard that just so happens to guard the point guard on the other team(Francsis, Troy Hudson etc.)

Ripper, once again, I have no idea what your talking about. Hughes is playing SG. He brings the ball up the court every once in a while the same way that Penny does in Phenoix.

Arenas is a PG, he can run the team, he's a good passer, the team is nowhere near as good without him. Maybe you can give some example of any writer or publication saying that Arenas is a top 3 point guard. The fact is he's only 21, and your truly underestimating his point guard skills.

I am really glad to see that everyone has kept their ego's in check at LA. As long as they keep playing like they have the past 10 games or so, they are unstoppable. I can still see them losing the games they shouldn't, like against the Bull or Pistons. But that is the same way all great teams play. Lose to the shitty treams and win against the big ones.

I think it was "The Malone Elbow"® that got him. But I was at a bar and couldn't pay total attention to the game. I do know his few minutes in the locker room didn't help my fantasy team any!

Jason Williams basically matured instantly after being traded from a title contender to a team hopeing to reach 20 wins. I would think that Bonzi would be more trouble. Plus...who are they going to sit now that Bonzi is in town? Miller?

I wouldn't say he matured instantly. Remember the "We suck. We're the worst team in the League" thing? Unless you call honesty part of maturity, I guess.

I was watching TNT's pre-game show, and Barkley said something to the effect of "Bonzi Wells isn't all that talented." I think he was trying to say that Bonzi was more of a product of playing around a lot of other good players, which meant no one really worried about double-teaming him or anything. I don't know, I always thought Bonzi was pretty good myself.

WOOOOO!!! Elton Brand is finally back

From NBA.com

The Clippers have activated forward Elton Brand from the injured list and placed guard Eddie House on the injured list with a sprained left foot. Brand will be in uniform and available to play in the Clippers-Jazz game tonight at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

Brand, who was originally placed on the injured list on November 15th with a hairline stress fracture of the right foot, has missed the Clippers’ last 13 games. The injury occurred in the Clippers first game of the season, an opening night loss to the Seattle SuperSonics in Saitama, Japan. Brand went on to record 21 points, 15 rebounds and tied a career-high with 8 blocked shots in the contest.

In his sixth season out of Duke, the All-Star forward has tallied 19.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and 38.3 minutes per game over his career.

House missed Wednesday night’s Clippers victory over Cleveland with the injury and has averaged 6.1 points and 2.0 assists in 13 games played on the year.

Malone was suspended a game (against the Jazz, oddly enough) for his elbow to Nash.

Kidd was fined for ref bashing after the Memphis loss.

Ray Allen will begin workouts on Monday.

Anthony Carter's contract was bought out by the Spurs, and he is now a free agent. So basically they now have nothing to show for letting Claxton leave.

God, to get bought out of the remainder of your contract. Is their any greater indignity? "Christ, take all of our money, just fuckin leave"

Orlando loses its 19th straight, this time to Dallas. How far will this go? The all-time record is 23 or 24, something like that.

Orlando's next six games....

Phoenix

@ Washington

New Jersey

@ Atlanta

@ Chicago

@ Indiana

23 losses is the record for one season, 24's the record if you count going across two seasons. I really hope Orlando can break the consecutive losses streak, i always enjoy teams achieving new levels of mediocrity. The record for consecutive home losses isn't far off either, so if the Magic have to win, let it be on the road.

So does anyone else think that 70 games is quite realistic for the Laker's now?

Besides me of course. :D
