Guest Choken One Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 At this moment, KC is having their way with the Buffalo Bills and look to be 8-0 after tonight. They seem obviously for real and are comparable to Vermeil's last team, The St. Louis Rams. Here is the remainder of the Schedule November 9, 2003 Cleveland Browns November 16, 2003 at Cincinnati Bengals November 23, 2003 Oakland Raiders November 30, 2003 at San Diego Chargers December 7, 2003 at Denver Broncos December 14, 2003 Detroit Lions December 20, 2003 at Minnesota Vikings December 28, 2003 Chicago Bears Drawing Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit, San Diego is GREAT for their bid for a 16-0 season. Cincy will play them hard (Cincy has beaten or Hung with every team this year to the very end) but KC should beat them as well. The Broncos/Raiders each gave KC a test so far...but couldn't get it done... Vikings are a tough team and playing in the Metrodome in December won't be fun.. So do you think they can hit the 16-0 mark or will they get blinded by a unlikely team like Detroit by not taking them seriously: will a divison rival such as Oakland or Denver get the job done? Personally, I don't think they can hit 16-0...too much pressure to do it and I feel they will underestimate a team like Detroit or Cincy and get upset...I still say they go 15-1.
Bored Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 There is too much parity for anyone to go undefeated. They'll definently lose at Denver if they are undefeated or just have a bad game and get upset in one of the games before.
JHawk Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Honestly? I think Cleveland will take them. And I'm not saying that because I'm a die hard Browns fan. But the Browns have this habit of winning the games they're not supposed to, and nobody's going to expect Cleveland to stay in that game. If Cleveland can stop Priest Holmes (and their rush D has been awesome for six of the eight games but really bad the other two), that could be a long game for the Chiefs. The bye week could also kill Kansas City's momentum (and they have a ton of momentum right now). But even if I'm wrong there, I don't see any team finishing 16-0 in the current NFL. Cincy or Detroit will likely take one if Cleveland doesn't, and Denver will probably get the win next time. 13-3, maybe 14-2. Home field advantage for sure.
the pinjockey Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 My guess would be they lose in Denver and lose in Minnesota, ending up 14-2. Denver will be a tough, divisional game and by Minnesota I think they won't have much to play for, while the Vikings will be fighting for the division.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I would be SHOCKED if any NFL team went undefeated ever again. It's just not going to happen.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The only teams on their schedule that could give them troubles are Minnesota and Denver. My guess is, if they manage to beat Denver, by the time they face Minnesota they will have locked up home field adv. in the playoffs and thus they'll probably lose to minnesota. Reason being, it would be silly to play their key players (Holmes, Hall, TGonz, etc) a lot for the only purpose of going undefeated and having them get hurt and not be able to go to the playoffs.
Guest Choken One Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I still think that you guys are ducking Cincy for them being Cincy. Three straight wins and The other 3 games went to the last play...they dominated Plummer in game one as well...
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The Bengals wont be able to hang with the Chiefs.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 November 9, 2003 Cleveland Browns - depends on which Cleveland shows up, probably a win November 16, 2003 at Cincinnati Bengals - if the Chiefs act like the posters here they'll be in for a shock. Cinncy is the most underrated team in the NFL right now November 23, 2003 Oakland Raiders - easy win November 30, 2003 at San Diego Chargers - easy win December 7, 2003 at Denver Broncos - Broncos are done December 14, 2003 Detroit Lions - easy win December 20, 2003 at Minnesota Vikings - could potentially be a loss but I don't see the Vikings stopping the Chiefs offense December 28, 2003 Chicago Bears - easy win I think the Bengals might take the Chiefs to be honest. They'll be at that point where undefeated teams are prime for an upset, plus the Bengals could be riding a 3 game winning streak into that game.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I think they're more worried about getting the 3(or 4 if they somehow faulter) wins in the playoffs than 8more regular season wins. Either way I hope they don't make it past my Pats
kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The thought of them going 16-0 crossed my mind while watching them tonight. After thinking the Marlins would "fizzle out" earlier this season, I'm willing to believe in the seemingly impossible...

They shouldn't have problems with Arizona and Houston. Bengals could be *GASP* 5-4! Add in the fact they also play San Diego and S.F as well and another go around with Cleveland...they could easily hit Eight wins.
Gert T Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Choken, we gotta take it one game at a time though, the Bengals are just not good enough yet to have guranteed wins. Although I do believe PBS will be sold out and rocking on Nov. 16th as the 9-0 Chiefs play the 5-4 Bengals. Today was a weird day, for the first time in ever in going to Bengals games (6 years) I was never really worried as the Bengals were down twice in the second half. The O looks like a well-tuned machine. And the crowd was LOUD. If the Bengals win the next two, Nov. 16th will be very interesting. But back to the Chiefs, at Denver & at Minnesota are the biggest obstacles, but they'll have to take Detroit VERY lightly if they're going to lose to them!
Guest Choken One Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Agreed we should only take it one game at a time but I believe if you can beat A good seattle team and a good ravens team, Hang with the Steelers, Raiders, Broncos and Bills...Houston and Arizona should be beatable.
Guest Flyboy Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I would be SHOCKED if any NFL team went undefeated ever again. It's just not going to happen. I'm with Spiff. You're bound to get beaten sooner or later.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 They will lose and it will be to a team no one expects them to lose to. Cleveland and Cincy are good unexpected upset possibilities. Cleveland has a habit of winning the least expected games. They also have a habit of losing the least expected games. IT DRIVES BROWNS FANS FUCKING INSANE!!!!! Look at that list of games...which team seems the least likely to win? That's right the Lions...The Lions will beat them.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The Lions beat Vermiel's Rams didn't they?
Cuban Linx Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 They've got a pretty good schedule to go undefeated, but it almost certainly won't happen. 13-3 would be the worst they'd go barring any major injuries or anything, but i think they'll end up 14-2 (loss to one of the Vikings-Broncos, and an upset loss).
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I'm calling a loss in Denver, and they'll lose to the Bears, too, because it'll be REALLY fucking cold, and no one on the team's going to be playing hard, because home field will be in the bag.
Gert T Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I don't think home field advantage may be wrapped up yet because Indy or Tennessee might be right around KC's record, but you're right the Bears may have a shot. Detroit is going to have to bring Marlin Jackson up from Michigan against KC, because their CB's & LB's ain't gonna be able to cover all of Kansas City's weapons.
Slayer Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 I hope not. If I have to suffer through my Vikes getting a loss, I want to see KC take a loss too... and not just because I want to see despondent Chiefs fans around campus. I can't wait for that game in December
kkktookmybabyaway Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Just throwing this out: If the Chiefs are, say 13-0 and have the Conference title wrapped up, do you think they would try to go undefeated? With all the media hype surrounding this (this ain't 1972), I would be tempted to throw one or two late-season games. After all, could you imagine the media/talk show circuit if K.C. would go 16-0 and then lose in the playoffs?...
Guest El Satanico Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Yeah, that's another thing. Going undefeated puts alot of stress on a team, now. Losing a game would actually be better than going undefeated
Dangerous A Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 The Chiefs won't go undefeated, but they probrably won't lose more than 3 games for the season and will at least make it to the Super Bowl. From there, it's anyone's guess. I just don't see the Chiefs losing at home to anyone in the playoffs or regular season, but neutral field in a big setting like the Super Bowl, anything is bound to happen.
ANKLELOCK Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Are you kidding me?? The Chiefs are good, but their luck is going to run out. They aren't even the best in the AFC. Look at the sig to see who is.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Call back when the Titans have a rushing game.
Slingshot Suplex Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 The Lions don't win on the road...and usually look shitty doing it.
Guest jpclemmons Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 The Lions don't win on the road...and usually look shitty doing it. they don't win at home either
Slingshot Suplex Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 The Lions don't win on the road...and usually look shitty doing it. they don't win at home either true but they usually seem to be more competitive at home. If it was in Detroit...I'd give the Lions a chance to pull off the shocker........in KC.....nope.
