Steviekick Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 There lies the whole confusion... What's Roids and what's Supplements because I promise EVERYONE even Dreamer is on supplements... Yes...Dreamer is an abuser of supplements like Twinkies, macaroni and cheese, and deep dish pizza.
Styles Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Well, the shit is about to hit the fan. But maybe in a good way. Do we really want to read 10 or 15 years down the line about the likes of Eddy, Angle or even Triple H dropping dead from enlarged hearts or whatever. Hopefully everyone gets cleaned up...
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 If Vince wants to be SPORTS Entertainment, than he can deal with the steroids problem just like the NFL/NBA/Olympics are having to do as of late especially with the whole new thing about the undetectable "designer" steroids that will be declared illegal by the US government rather soon. Or Vince could take the MLB approach and do nothing until the government forces them to.

That is a good point. Wrestlers have enough injuries to deal with w/o those caused by steroids.
Guest Anglesault Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 There lies the whole confusion... What's Roids and what's Supplements .. Supplements are steroids that the goverment hasn't gotten around to making illegal yet.
Human Fly Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 As pointed out before it does not have to be a WWE wrestler. Hogan still lives in Tampa doesn't he?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 As pointed out before it does not have to be a WWE wrestler. Hogan still lives in Tampa doesn't he? Hogan doesn't need Roids, plus I don't think they'd react to well in a 50 year old man.
Guest wildpegasus Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 (edited) I hope to god it's Angle, Benoit, Eddie or all 3. I'd love to see the internet stick up for them like they did nothing wrong. I'd stick up for them. Why? I'd stick up for them because wrestling is not a competive sport in the sense that the outcome is predertimined so taking the roids is less of a cheat. People taking steroids in a promoted NATURAL bodybuilding competition I would have a problem with though. Without the roids, there are quite a few wrestlers who wouldn't even be looked at by the WWE because of their size. The natural lighter superstars have to make the money so they really have their backs up against the wall. If they're not going to do it someone else may just take their spot that is willing to do it. I'll go as far as to say I respect in a way some of the people who take roids. It truly shows how commited they are to their craft with the lengths they're willing to take to get there. I respect that. Still, it's something you definitely shouldn't fool around with and something I don't reccomend. There are side effects but than again there are side effects to drinking, smoking and other drugs. And what do you get from them? Essentially nothing but bad health. Edited November 2, 2003 by wildpegasus
Guest Basswitch Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 If its Jericho, or Christian I'll be surprised. If its Eddie or Benoit.. it would suck... but i would not be that surprised. I'm personally hoping that it ends up to be like...Michael Cole. Does Brock live in tampa?
Guest Choken One Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Why do so many live in Tampa? Is it for the warm weather? I imagine after tours they want warmth and the beach and shit I guess...
Guest wildpegasus Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 From the Observer's web page: An unusually high percentage of big name pro wrestlers live in the Tampa area, for a number of reasons including no state tax, the weather, and fairly easy airport travel (well, compared to living in Calgary or California) to most of the dates since there are more events on the East Coast than anywhere.
The Czech Republic Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Upcoming commemorative WrestleMania in NYC coming up Undertaker slated to lose casket match Vince potentially in trouble for steroids hmmmm....
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Upcoming commemorative WrestleMania in NYC coming up Undertaker slated to lose casket match Vince potentially in trouble for steroids hmmmm.... LMFAO!!! I never thought of that. Damn.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Not sure about Edge, but Eddie lives in Tampa. He usually makes two trips a year to El Paso though. Does Brock live in tampa? Brock lives in some town somewhere in MN. He doesn't live in Minneapolis anymore though.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I'm personally hoping that it ends up to be like...Michael Cole. Sort of like in 1990 when they found out Lord Alfred Hayes was a heavy roid user.
Styles Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Upcoming commemorative WrestleMania in NYC coming up Undertaker slated to lose casket match Vince potentially in trouble for steroids hmmmm.... Oh my god, they're going to give Pat Patterson the book again!
Slayer Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I don't see how someone like Big Show could be using steroids, I mean, dude has a bigger gut than me... And I don't mean his gut is bigger than my gut, I mean his gut is bigger than me
The Czech Republic Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I also realized that Yang and Sakora is sort of like Tenryu and Kabuki. Watch your back, patriotic hero Kurt Angle! Suddenly your victory at SummerSlam isn't looking so good.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Does Brock live in tampa? Brock lives in some town somewhere in MN. He doesn't live in Minneapolis anymore though. According to Meltz, Kurt Angle did an interview on Thursday where the steroid issue was addressed. In addition to declaring Brock Lesnar 100% natural, he said that steroids in wrestling is acceptable because "it's more of a circus than a sporting event". Way to put over your craft, Kurt.
The Czech Republic Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Ah, looks like patriotic hero Kurt Angle said the wrong thing to the wrong people. This could have quite the negative ramifications for his future push.

Referring to early 1994 when Mr. Fuji "hired" Tenryu and Kabuki to take out then AMERICAN HERO Lex Luger Yes and just how Luger got drunk and revealed the match endings, Kurt revealed that steroids are being done. Both cases were both "well no shit" things, but still. So in this Grand Parallel Of 1993, does Paul Heyman = Jim Cornette? Of all people.
Tawren Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Until someone shows me concrete proof (and none of this HE HAS BACNE~! or HE HAS BIG MUSCLES~!) I won't believe anyone in WWE takes steroids. Supplements yes, duh. But illegal steroids I will not believe until someone shows me proof. Nieve, yes. Legally correct, yes.

I won't believe anyone in WWE takes steroids. Supplements yes, duh. But illegal steroids I will not believe until someone shows me proof. Nieve, yes. Legally correct, yes. Yeah--if there are roughly-as-effective legal supplements, what's the point in risking using illegal substances?
Slayer Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Yes and just how Luger got drunk and revealed the match endings [for WMX] For some reason, I've always thought this to be an urban legend... it floats around in smark history discussions, but I've never really seen it substantiated in any way (granted, we discuss unsubstantiated items all the time), and I'm skeptical about it's occurence
2GOLD Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 From what I've seen of the lovely steriod users of time past. Sudden baldness, veins popping up on your arms when you barely move them (aka Scott Steiner and Eddie before he got fired from the WWF that first time), sudden constant injuries left and right when they even move and RUTHLESS AGGRESSION. The only ones I suspect are Steiner, Triple H since he now seems fragile as paper, Randy Orton may have but odds are he stopped and of course, Linda Miles. I highly doubt RVD even touches supplements since he seemed VERY much torn up when I think Louie died. As I said, I have suspects but I will not blame them immediately....ok, I will blame Steiner.
