Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 [WWE FRONT OFFICE] You new guys need to "step up" if you want a major push and be a superstar. But you can't have promo time, can't wrestle more than a 1:20 in squash mash to the Hoss of the Month, and if we do give you more time, then you need to slow down your in ring style. Now, why the fuck aren't you new guys over? What's wrong with you?[/WWE FRONT OFFICE] Jindrak, Cade and Maven are being given entire segments and promos given to them, along with their matches. Spanky and London have already segments based around them on Smackdown and Velocity since London's debut, along with their matches. Tajiri has the cruiserweight title around his waist now, along with a developing stable that could have great potential. Doug Basham and the Damaja hold the WWE Tag Titles, regarded as the most prestigous belts out there right now. Who can forget about Haas and Benjamin. Randy Orton is a rising star on RAW, regarded as the "breakout star" of the brand. John Cena is a rising star on Smackdown, regarded as the "breakout star" of the brand. So who's there to complain about now? Ultimo, who even Rey couldn't get a good match out of this past week?
Cherry Blossom Viscount 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Yeah, but the IWC doesn't want alot of these "REAL" new guys pushed. They want "THEIR" new guys pushed. Guys like RVD, Benoit, Jericho, and Booker T.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted November 4, 2003 What was wrong with Ultimo-Rey?! For 2:30 minutes, they did pretty much fine.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Jindrak, Cade and Maven are being given entire segments and promos given to them, along with their matches. Haven't seen any of them. Spanky and London have already segments based around them on Smackdown and Velocity since London's debut, along with their matches. Who? Tajiri has the cruiserweight title around his waist now, along with a developing stable that could have great potential. Tajiri's always been one of my favorites. Glad he's still getting paid. Doug Basham and the Damaja hold the WWE Tag Titles, regarded as the most prestigous belts out there right now. Don't know who they are either. Are the Tag Titles really regarded as the most prestigious belts out there? Triple-H is going to be pissed when he hears about that. Who can forget about Haas and Benjamin. Hey, I know who those guys were. They tagged with and against Kurt Angle for a while there, in main events and shit. Are they still with the company? Randy Orton is a rising star on RAW, regarded as the "breakout star" of the brand. He is the next Rock. John Cena is a rising star on Smackdown, regarded as the "breakout star" of the brand. He is the next Austin. I guess they don't make "breakout stars" like they used to. Hey, there's always Batista. And that's my internet smark bitching quotient for the week. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Ultimo, who even Rey couldn't get a good match out of this past week? That's completely ridiculous. They were given TWO AND A HALF MINUTES! What the hell do you expect for a match that short?
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Jindrak, Cade and Maven are being given entire segments and promos given to them, along with their matches. Haven't seen any of them. 11/03/2003 Jindrak and Cade in a backstage vignette about beating the Dudleys. Jindrak gave Cade a peptalk about the titles not being on the line, but their "dignity" was. The Dudley Boyz v. Mark Jindrak & Garrison Cade. D-Von gets a shoulderblock for two to start on Jindrak, but Cade tags in with a back elbow for two. D-Von gets his own elbow and Bubba comes in and criss-crosses with Cade, who gets a cross-body for two. Bubba legsweeps him for two as JR & King blather on about Bischoff and Austin. Bubba charges and hits boot, and Cade clotheslines him for two. Jindrak comes in and gets caught in Dudleyville, but Jindrak gets his dropkick for two. Cade hits the chinlock. D-Von escapes, but runs into an elbow, and they get their double-team dropkick for two. Well, the finisher didn’t work, time for Plan C. Cade tries a flying elbow, and whiffs on it, allowing a tag to Bubba. Sideslam on Cade and he hiptosses Jindrak onto him and dumps him. Bubba is working REALLY stiff tonight. Scott Steiner interrupts and torments Stacy, which allows Cade to clothesline Bubba for the pin at 4:22. Well, it’s his own fault. The endless push no one wants to see continues, although at least it’s someone new. * 10/27/2003 Meanwhile, Cade & Jindrak continue their ELECTRICITY with a backstage interview, that somehow leads to Bischoff throwing Shawn Michaels out of the building. I think Shawn was just scared of the Marines in the front row. Garrison Cade & Mark Jindrak v. Randy Orton & Ric Flair. Orton pounds Jindrak to start, but gets clotheslined. Cade slugs away, but gets clotheslined and stomped down. Flair comes in with chops and a back elbow, and he drops the knee. Orton gets the dropkick for two. Cade comes back and they collide, and Jindrak makes what I can only presume is a hot tag in the minds of the agents alone, because the crowd sure doesn't care about these guys. Backdrops are seen everywhere. Orton gets a cheapshot and Flair rolls up Jindrak, but Maven slips in, pushes them over, and Jindrak gets the pin at 3:15. Nice little bit of continuity from last week, but Cade & Jindrak are like wrestling accountants or something. *1/4 Heel beatdown follows. 10/20/2003 Orton cooling down from his 2 minute match. Jindrak and Cade run in, and say that they are there for the bounty. Orton says that it is really easy, take out Goldberg, you get the money. Jindrak says that they had something else on their mind. Orton says that that is the only way to get the money, Cade says no it isn’t and they jump Orton and grab the money!! AWESOME!! Orton pacing around backstage. Flair comes up and starts WHOOOing about his win. Orton tells him about the money, and Flair flips out. Orton says that Cade and Jindraks car is still here, so they must be. They go off to look for them, and cops fly by. The camera goes with them, and all the cops surround Kane as he is walking in the building. Cade and Jindrak trying to leave, but as they start running to their car, some one drills them with a 2x4. They shows his feet and he picks up the money…its Triple H! Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Ultimo proved in Japan earlier this year that he can still go, so the fact that he and Rey didn't put on MOTY in under 3 minutes doesn't worry me too much.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted November 4, 2003 So their promo time was basically to set them up to get punked out by Triple-H? At least you can't say the WWE isn't consistent.

They want "THEIR" new guys pushed. Guys like RVD, Benoit, Jericho, and Booker T. Damn straight or I would settle for anybody without The Look, at least Raw has the Women Division now. I'll be happy if Victoria, Molly, Gail Kim, Trish are given 30 minutes of Raw every week.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Ultimo proved in Japan earlier this year that he can still go, so the fact that he and Rey didn't put on MOTY in under 3 minutes doesn't worry me too much. I wasn't asking for a MOTY anyway. Just trying to make a distinction between the amount of new guys being pushed, as opposed to the guys still being held down. Ultimo is one of the true few who deserve a push, but are not getting it (though on my list of 20 people who deserve a push, he's #21). Unless he's given a mouthpiece, the amount of time his matches get will mean fuck-all..

Guest Indy Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Spanky, Paul London, and Kidman were told to "slow it down" in regard to their ring style at the house shows this weekend. WWE told them to use their "less is more" theory. This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 I'm starting to get the feeling the WWE WILL go with my idea of two guys in the ring with rock em sock em robots. And the Hurricane WITHOUT the chokeslam? Well, there goes the point of that damn gimmick. GOOD PLAN!
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Ultimo Dragon is to fast, to small, kicks look to fake, and needs to tone down his style, etc [/The Office] Well, how about 25 workers I'd push over Ultimo (either based on their charisma, workrate or mic work)? 1. Chris Jericho. 2. Chris Benoit. 3. Eddie Guerrero. 4. Chavo Guerrero. 5. John Cena. 6. Rob Van Dam. 7. Shelton Benjamin. 8. Charlie Haas. 9. Matt Hardy. 10. Rey Mysterio. 11. Billy Kidman. 12. Jamie Noble. 13. Yoshihiro Tajiri. 14. Spanky. 15. Paul London. 16. Randy Orton. 17. Booker T. 18. Kane. 19. Edge. 20. Sean Morley. 21. Lance Storm. 22. Rhyno. 23. Kanyon. 24. Christian 25. Rob Conway. He's behind a LONG LINE. I'm not concerned about #26 not getting a serious push, when's there so much talent there to be pushed.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 LANCE STORM????? CHRISTIAN??? Ultimo Dragon deserves a push before those two slugs, Kidman, Val Venis, and Chavo. I'd say that Jericho, Benoit, Eddy and Book are already getting pushed

Guest Markingout Report post Posted November 4, 2003 "6. Rob Van Dam" How much more. He is IC champ. Sure he is over, but I can call out his matches outloud. RVD can't cut a promo either. He throws faker kicks than Ultimo.
Guest BionicRedneck Report post Posted November 4, 2003 1. Chris Jericho. 2. Chris Benoit. 3. Eddie Guerrero These guys are fine. 4. Chavo Guerrero. . Nah 5. John Cena. 6. Rob Van Dam. Piles of shit. At least they are over, I suppose. . 11. Billy Kidman. What exactly is it that he has over UD? It certainly isn't workrate or overness. I guess I missed all the awesome Billy Kidman promos 16. Randy Orton. Crikey 20. Sean Morley. 21. Lance Storm. Yeah, coz Venis hasn't had enough pushes and failed. Ultimo smokes Storm. 24. Christian zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 25. Rob Conway Yep. That's right! Rob Conway > Ultimo Dragon

Unless he's given a mouthpiece, the amount of time his matches get will mean fuck-all.. I dunno, I mean Rey didn't need a mouthpiece to get over, he managed it through impressing the hell out of the crowds with his ringwork. Tajiri likewise hasn't had a mouthpiece since Regal 2 years ago and he's more over now than ever. Hell, even Funaki is popular considering his character can only speak a few works of english
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 I had a feeling they would ask London to slow down his ring work after watching him a couple of times. He does move pretty fast and even I think he could benefit from literally slowing down, but still using the same moves. He looks like he's having a major sugar buzz in the ring. Guest BobBacklundRules Report post Posted November 5, 2003 - WWE has grown concerned with Rikishi's weight. He put on some extra weight when he was out for a few months recently and WWE wants him to lose some of it. - Spanky, Paul London, and Kidman were told to "slow it down" in regard to their ring style at the house shows this weekend. WWE told them to use their "less is more" theory. - WWE has told the Hurricane to stop using the chokeslam move. They feel he is too small to pull off the move in a convincing manner. Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Explain to me again why the WWE wants Spanky and London to slow down in the ring? Don't they want them to GET OVER or what? Whats wrong with the WWE? Will every move where you have to leave your feet be banned by 2007? I can see it now...Hoss Wrestling Entertainment

It won't be a match but a stunt exhibition. Start off smaller. Build UP to the bigger moves. Make the small stuff count, get the crowd involved in the match --- THEN hit the big spots. Slow it down. Why do three moonsaults when ONE will do the trick just as well? You can't play an infinite game of one-upsmanship. -=Mike
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Hurricane was told not to use the chokeslam because the WWE feels he's too small to do it in a convincing manner. Spanky and London will be forced to brawl, hit their signature moves, and the only thing CLOSE to flying that there will be is flying forearms, standing dropkicks, and calfkicks. Ultimo Dragon is to fast, to small, kicks look to fake, and needs to tone down his style, etc [/The Office] I love how the claims are that "Ultimo's offense is too unrealistic," thus he's relegated to Velocity and dark matches. Meanwhile WWE has Zach Gowen wrestling, whose offense is comically unrealistic, moreso than Ultimo, and he gets more airtime and storylines than Ultimo while Ultimo is just as over. Anyway... Spanky and London have already segments based around them on Smackdown and Velocity since London's debut, along with their matches. Unless I'm forgetting something, London has been on SmackDown all of two times, once while getting squashed by Brock Lesnar, before being saved by Spanky and making appearances on Velocity right after. ...The second time was playing video games with Orlando Jordan. Yes, they wrestle on Velocity, but who watches that? Literally no one, so what chance do they have to get over then?
