MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 They were rich, pretty boys from a well-to-do suburb of Cleveland. And what they lack in brains, they make up for in the Genius. In reality, they were a midcard heel team used to put the face teams over. Ohh, I still mark for the theme music.

And now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 MM explained it nicely. The cracks in the foundation of the WWF's tag team division was really showing around this time. On the face side, you had LOD (who were the champs at the time), the Rockers, the Bushwhackers, and that's pretty much it. Don't forget the Rockers were already on the skids and were soon to be broken up and any credibility that the Whackers had as anything other than a sideshow act to amuse the kiddies in the audience was long gone. On the other end, you had the Nasty Boys, Beverly Brothers, and the Natural Disasters. Slim pickings, indeed. And let's not forget the additions of teams like the New Foundation and the Money Inc. to "enhance" the division.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Did anybody outside of northeast Ohio actually realize where Shaker Heights was though? I doubt it. It's like one time when I was having a really non-descript boring day and I said it "felt like Christmas in Skokie." Person, not being from around here, didn't get it. Guest ravman77 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 And let's not forget the additions of teams like the New Foundation and the Money Inc. to "enhance" the division. No way! You didnt like Money Inc.? Damn, I marked that team. I wish Ted was still wrestling today. I loved the Million Dollar Man as a kid
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2003 But why would a rich man be friends with an IRS agent? WHY? WHY, I ASK!
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2003 So DiBiase can throw a few bucks towards Irwin's way and get a hefty break on his taxes.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 7, 2003 geez, I thought it was obvious IRS was a corrupt person and that Ted was using him for tax breaks.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2003 Just think about the state the Tag Team division would have been without Money Inc.The Natural Disasters could have been champs until Wrestlemania 9 at the earliest.Dibiase and Rotundo were good because all of Rotundo's Boring submissions(Chinlocks and Abdominal stretches) were actually useful for getting the crowd behind the faces. EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2003 I just remember they beat up Jim Neidhart as he was being helped to the back by officials after he lost to Ric Flair. Yeah and that lead to Owen Hart becoming his tag partner to form the New Foundation.

Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Can someone please explain the whole Shaker Heights gag to me, maybe its because I'm Irish, and It's only something an American would get. Also, I remember my old sticker album saying they had a bitch -ass finisher. Anyone remember it????
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Shaker Heights, Ohio is a fairly well-to-do suburb of Cleveland. They've got shopping centers, one way roads, and more buildings. I really can't imagine the WWF using Shaker Heights of all the cities in the U.S. of A. The only way I've ever heard of it is because I live about 10 minutes away from the city . . . but I almost NEVER drive through there because of the confusing roads. Seems like half of them are one way . . . What the Fuck?!? You'll come to a 6 way intersection and see Do Not Enter/One Way signs everywhere. It's the drizzling shits driving through there at night. Ace309 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I think their finisher was, like, one doing a backdrop and the other catching it and pulling the opponent into a kneeling x-factor-type move. I know it was called the Shaker Heights Spike.
deancoles 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 it was basically a double flapjack. They used the Spike Piledriver for a month or 2 then used the Shaker Heights Spike.I have a tape where one of them beats Bret Hart but Sgt Slaughter reverses the decision. The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2003 Oh you know what would've been REALLY cool? If that Project Greenlight film, "The Battle of Shaker Heights" or whatever, incorporated the Beverly Brothers in some way shape or form. Now THAT is obscure. JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2003 At Survivor Series 91 they pin one of the Bushwhackers with the SHS...a flapjack into a kneeling X-factor. Very cool.
