Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I'm going to go buy this DVD today (along with Castlevania: Lament of Innocence for the Playstation 2) assuming that my local Suncoast has the DVD already. I went to Wal-Mart last night and found out that they won't be carrying it. They had the Hulk Still Rules DVD though....
Jesse Badass 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I'm walking to Best Buy today to get my copy of the Ric Flair DVD. Somebody is going to get slapped if best buy don't have the Ric Flair DVD today.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I was just at BB and while they had one of the DVD sets I was after today (King of Queens), the store was absent of any Ric Flair greatness. It's raining here badly, too, so driving around, getting out and all that stuff was a pain in the ass, but I finally went over to Media Play just out of routine for when BB doesn't have something and surprisingly enough, they had several copies. $32, but I don't care. I'd rather have it right now and pay a little more than wait and pay a few dollars less. I'm not crazy about the packaging, though. I was sorta hoping for a big armary case like all of the other WWE DVDs have.

MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 (edited) I got mine today at FYE, on sale for 26.99 as opposed to the 34.99 it will cost next week. Same here, plus a $5 mail in rebate. Edited November 18, 2003 by MillenniumMan831
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 My Best Buy near me (Patchogue) didn't have it, but the next-closest one (S. Setauket) does. I'm going there later to get it.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Turns out I went to BB on lunch and they won't be getting it at the store till December 16th So I ordered it off their site and should have it tomorrow.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 blah blah blah blah... is anyone here going to bother confirming what the chapter "A Special Night in Wherever" is? There is some concern over whether that is from some Nitro in 98 I've never seen but everyone is raving about, or the post show ceremony from a Raw earleir this year (which we know already is on the disc). There is some concern over whether that is from some Nitro in 98 I've never seen but everyone is raving about, or the post show ceremony from a Raw earleir this year (which we know already is on the disc). After making the assumption that the Nitro segment wasn't included (in the Flair DVD thread), I waited for any responses. Michrome replied with: Unfortunately, I got confirmation from Mike Johnson with the DVD that "a special night in greenville" is indeed the Flair celebration after the Raw match, not the 9/14/98 segment....maybe they will put it on the Monday Night Wars DVD... Don't know if you want actual concrete proof or something, though.

Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I'm still on Disc 1 and HOLY SHIT these interviews are GOLD, and this VQ is great. I've got the Slater/Orton neck breaking angle on a Mid Atlantic tape that I'd bet is about 6th or 7th gen, but now it's on DVD in all it's glory.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 WHOOO! Got my copy now Apparently it's the only copy in Wichita, on top of that Went to the BB I normally go to... nothing. Called the other BB. Nothing. Called both Suncoasts in town. Nothing. Call FYE (which I didn't even know Wichita had until a couple days ago). Bingo. Go over there. They have all of one copy there, and there was no wide empty space to indicate others had been there before earlier.
Styles 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Speaking of Best Buy, a while ago I went to 2 near by Best Buys and neither of them had whatever WWE DVD I was looking for and in fact the sections themselves weren't as vast as usual and when I asked one of the employees about it, he said that Best Buy was cutting back on wrestling DVDs. Take that for what you will. Ordered mine from Amazon. Should come soon. No worries though because I still haven't watched BloodBath! Between my tape of TNA, tape of Pride, Survivor Series, and then RAW I've been wrestling ODed already the last week plus I have...what do you call it...o yes, WORK, so I'll get to it eventually! Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I was looking for and in fact the sections themselves weren't as vast as usual and when I asked one of the employees about it, he said that Best Buy was cutting back on wrestling DVDs. Sounds about right. The BB I normally go to used to have a whole shelf in the special interest section devoted to wrestling DVDs, even as recent as two months ago. Now that's been downsized and compressed into 1-1/2 rows (out of a 4 row shelf)
Guest BobBacklundRules Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I shouldn't have asked for it this Christmas, now I have to wait. At least I'm getting it for free. Bitches.

Now that's been downsized and compressed into 1-1/2 rows (out of a 4 row shelf) I don't get that. Haven't the video sales been up for WWE in the past year or so? Plus, I'd figure that would help non-WWE stuff because it provides a boost to the wrestling market, or fans turned off of WWE would be actively seeking alternatives. I'd expect an increase in the stuff carried. Then again, maybe it's just certain stuff...it seems no one wants to touch the Brock DVD around here because they've got a ton stocked that don't seem to move in nearly all the stores that carry it. Guest Choken One Report post Posted November 18, 2003 The Best I usually go to has about 7 shelfs of Wrestling DVD's from WWE, XPW, ECW and Japan stuff. They treat it nicely too...The WWE PPVS are in CHRONOLOGICAL order unlike other places who just stick them up there...
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I immediately went to disc three because one of my favorite matches of all time is on there. The RR match is still gold and the stuff that's from his first WWF run on the DVD is fun, too. Already worth the money spent, and I haven't even watched the first two discs. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I just got the DVD today... It's fun to watch a match that occured when I was only 1 year old in Harley Race vs. Ric Flair at Starrcade 83.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 I checked out the tailend of the HHH/Flair match for the celebration afterwards. Really nice stuff. I peeked at Flair/Windham, Flair/Dragon, RR92, but I'm gonna try to watch this stuff from the beginning. Race/Flair right now. But to help it move along, I'm doing my homework and posting here, so I don't completely burn myself out on it. If I do have to do homework, who better to listen to than Gordon Solie? How can ya not mark out for Solie pronouncing suplex "souplay"?
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 ^ Very true. For me, a Ric Flair DVD is good for helping me write out a PPV for an E-Fed I'm part of. Ric Flair is just good for stuff for people.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Thanks for the confirmation, Bobby. I noticed when I went to Best Buy in Dearborn to buy Bloodbath(screw you, Koch) they didn't seem as up to date with their selection. I looked over the entire section for Unforgiven (I know, I know... but I'm just 4 DVDs away from having my very own 2003 Collection Case!) and didn't find it, which is the first time this has happened. I got the good DVD though, and that was the most important thing. It seemed to be the last BLoodbath on the shelf, which was nice. I find the main problem, at least near the Best Buy I go to, is unlike your FYE's, wrestling is grouped in with Special Interest and Sports, and not organized very well. I have to look through softcore porn DVDs, sports DVDs, and other such things to find isolated WWE DVDs sitting next to some isolated backyard wrestling DVDs. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Not a big deal to me, but others seemed cocnerned in other threads (and this may have been asked/answered elsewhere), but does the Rumble begin with Flair or at #1?

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Not a big deal to me, but others seemed cocnerned in other threads (and this may have been asked/answered elsewhere), but does the Rumble begin with Flair or at #1? #3 I think what he's asking is if they show the entrances of Bulldog and DiBiase, as well as their two minutes before FLair is introduced. Haven't checked it out yet, so don't know
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2003 Not a big deal to me, but others seemed cocnerned in other threads (and this may have been asked/answered elsewhere), but does the Rumble begin with Flair or at #1? #3 This is so dumb. They can't afford to take the extra 5 minutes to have Finkel's intro and Tunney's intro and the first two guys in the ring (DiBiase and Bulldog)? That blows my mind. Edit: And yeah, I am a huge DiBiase mark or something Jason
