Jack_Bauer Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Well, I started this as I continue my quest into the world of Miss. Buffy Summers. I am now into Season Five, which started even worse than the 4th Season did. Giles has the magic shop though, and Buffy's sis is in town. She is in the main credits, so I'm guessing she stays. Anyway, the final episode of Season Four was a HUGE letdown and it SHOULD have ended with the Buffy v Adam episode.
Mole Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 DAHHHHHH??? WHAT???? "Restless" was an AMAZING episode!! Season 5 started out slow, but picks up to be awesome.
Tawren Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Re-watch Restless and pay more attention when you finish season 5. It'll make a lot more sense then because it isn't a stand-alone then Season 5 is a strong season. Not up there with 2 and 3, but it is very strong and is my third favorite, just ahead of season 1.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Season 5 starts to make a lot of sense and it's true brilliance is shown after you watch the last eps. "The Gift". Buffy vs. Dracula, on the surface, seems to be a throw-away gimmicky episode, but it establishes some themes that are constant throughout the season.
Guest Vitamin EC Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 I really didn't dig Season five for some reason, didn't care for Glory and I just couldn't get into the arc. Couple of great eps though.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 *mumbles something about digging boot out of ass* It's ok. Not everyone has to like Season 5. It's... Ok.... It... is... OK... Everything is... OK... *bites lip* *face turns red* *breathes deeply into paper bag*

As I hate to say it, RRR couldn't be anymore right.
Guest EQ Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Restless was a good episode, but I kind of agree that the big battle with Adam would have been a nice end to the season
Anakin Flair Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Season 5 had lots of great eps, but I really hated Buffy vs Dracula and, for a time, held that against the whole season. Now I recognize 5's briliance. I still think they waited to long to make Glory a true badass. It wasn't untill she mind-sucked Tara.
Jack_Bauer Posted November 26, 2003 Author Report Posted November 26, 2003 Ted's on right now Ted Rules.
Hank Kingsley Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Damn having to wait till Christmas to watch Season Five... oh well, I still have 2 discs left in Angel Season 2 to tide me over.
Youth N Asia Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Ted's on right now Ted Rules. John Ritter was great in that roll. Believe it or not, I'm burned out on Buffy threads. I might chime in here and there.
Ravenbomb Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Since I didn't get to participate in the Buffy season seven thread, I'll chime in on something people were arguing about, and it's still brought up some. The Uber Vamps being hard to kill at first but then were really easy. If you'll notice, the Uber Vamp was right up under the seal when it opened and was all gray and such. When the slayers opened it in Chosen, there weren't any right there, and the ones that were in there were more flesh coloured. Maybe the Uber Vamps get more powerful than the ones in the seal in Chosen were.

So they knew what to do a lot easier. Or your theory might be right.
chaosrage Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Holy shit. Evil Bill Ritter.. That was a nice episode.
RavishingRickRudo Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I still think they waited to long to make Glory a true badass. It wasn't untill she mind-sucked Tara. I agree with this. They started Glory off strong... then revealed she was a god... but the whole "mind-suck" thing didn't seem like that dangerous a power until she sucked Tara. Then things heated up nicely. That whole scene on the park bench was so fucking awesome.
spiny norman Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 For the first time ever I saw Conversations With Dead People last night. I am still amazed at that episode. One of the best, ever. Best of Season Seven that I've seen.
Mole Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 For the first time ever I saw Conversations With Dead People last night. I am still amazed at that episode. One of the best, ever. Best of Season Seven that I've seen. Not as good as "Chosen"....
spiny norman Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I liked it more. It had something about it which was quite charming. Holden was a great character to have, Dawn's scenes in the house were terrifying, Willow's were heartbreaking and Spike absolutely shocked me. I would put it in my top five, I think.
fazzle Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Eh, I'll go with Selfless as the best Season 7 episode.
Mole Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Blah, "Selfless" didn't do that much for me.
Anya Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I think the difference was that Buffy didn't really know how to kill them before But Anya's not-so-shocking info was just that they can be staked, which Buffy had been doing for like years. Buffy tried to stake it before and it no sold. Then Anya says they can be staked...it's just harder, and suddenly they're jobbers. Whatever... I hate the final battle.
Hank Kingsley Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 No, no, no... STORYTELLER~ = greatest season 7 ep!
Mole Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 That honor would go to "Lies my Parents Told Me"

Cavi Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Season Five has and always will be a favorite of mine. I really liked the overall arc. In terms of the last season, CWDP and Storyteller are top tier in my book.
