The long awaited sequel to the theatrical release of the most successful survival-horror game in history has arrived. But this time, Capcom, Ltd. made damn sure they got it right.

Milla Jovovich reprises her role as Alice, the Umbrella Security agent who saw the light. But this time, she's not alone. She will be joined by characters Jill Valentine, Carlos Olivera, and two new others. But, she will have something even far scarier than any Tyrant to contend with this time.

Everyone's favorite psychotic Russian, Nicholai, is along for the ride. What evil designs does he have in store for our desperate but intrepid heroes and heroines?

Who will survive, and who will succumb, to the Apocalypse?

The defining moment of the first one was Milla doing that slow-mo wall jump into a spin kick...right into that dog's face. The entire theatre erupted into laughter. It was kinda sad.

So, I'm not expecting much from this flick. If I hear good things about it, I might check it out on cheap night or something. Nice to see some actual RE characters in there though.

I didn't think the movie was that bad, but sadly after they killed off my favorite character

Spoiler (Highlight to Read):

the black guy
so early in the movie, the best part of the film came at the VERY end.

Hopefully, there's a good transition from Movie 1 to Movie 2...

Agreed. I watched it the other night, and I thought it was pretty mediocre. The ending was done very well, however.

i freaking loved the ending, it totally felt like RE 2/3 with everything wrecked.

The first time i saw RE i felt cheated, like they changed everything from the game and made the movie too High-Tec, but it has grown on me, so i'll definitly see Apocalypse, looks like they got it right this time.

George Romero spoke on the RE and said he had done the film completey different. He said hollywood studios didn't like his vision and fired him. That Sucks methinks. Although I did enjoy Resident Evil.

The second sounds good so far, but so did the first one before it came out.

Have you read the script..? It wasn't that great. I was surprised considering who wrote it.

..and I'm a huge RE fan. Since it's inception. But I don't see all the hate just because it wasn't a movie version of the video game. I for one wouldn't want the exact same story and plot. How fun would that be? To watch a movie where you know exactly what is supposed to happen? No thanks.

They shouldnt have called it Resident evil then should they? Sorry I dont want to see some lame half assed attempt at making a movie out one of my favorites series. They could have made a sidestory to the seires but decided not to. Instead they took the mansion, fucked up a lot of things in it and ripped off cube. Where was the giant snake? Where were the hunters? Where the blue hell was the plot? Dog kicking martial arts? Thats not horror.

It's common knowledge that the scenario in the RE movie is SUPPOSED to be a completely different set of events ASIDE from what was happening in the first game. Different mansion. Different characters. Same 'universe'...

IE: you're seeing things that could've went on before/during/right after Chris and Jill friends were exploring the other mansion.

I don't want to see another non speaking villian in Tyrant, I want to see someone like Nemesis who actually says something sometimes.

Nemisis is IN the movie.

Just remember the ending of the first movie. The Umbrella Goon in the Iso-Suit said he wanted the last other survivor in the Nemesis Program. So, odds are, the Nemesis will be the guy the Umbrella Goons in Iso-Suits took off with.

No 'odds' about it, it's in the plot synposis...

THE IRONY PEOPLE!! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE IRONY!!!

"The ironing is delicious!"

Apocalpyse is overrated and sucks. First they made him Stryfe's bitch during "X-Cutioner's Song", and they turned him into such an old fart/shitty character in "Apocalypse: The Twelve".

I did like the 80's when he was a bad-ass against X-Factor...well, sort of.

Re: Movie not same as game

At the end of the movie, the same Umbrella Iso-Suit that says "put the other survivor in the Nemesis project" says the following lines (and this was just on the other day):

Send another team in. We're re-opening the Red Queen.

Thus, this could take place before Bravo team even.

I loved Resident Evil. I thought it was the next best done game to movie transition since the 1st Mortal Kombat.

How so?

The screenplay was written by Paul W.S. Anderson, and directed by...not by Anderson, but by a SECOND UNIT DIRECTOR in his first time as a main director.

Natasha "Species" Henstridge bailed out from playing Jill. THEY COULDN'T GET NATASHA HENSTRIDGE for cryin' out loud.

It's going to be big, loud and very, very stupid.

are there Zombies in this thing? all the previews I've seen don't show zombies...

Except for that big ass swarm of them, of course. :P
