King Kamala 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NBA: The Toronto Raptors will go deep into the playoffs and I think they could win the Eastern Conference. With a healthy Vince Carter and the Raptors finally getting some resemblence of a supporting cast, the Raptors should be able to beat 95% of the Eastern Conference teams. Mind you, this is if Vince Carter stays healthy. So if Vinny doesn't get some kind of freak injury, I think the Raptors could be the sacrificial lamb to the Lakers. NFL: Patriots will be the AFC champs(and therefore will proably win the Superbowl). The Chiefs have been exposed by nearly losing to the Raiders and Chargers. MLB: Even if the Marlins lose Pudge, they'll win 80 games. With Jack McKeon back behind the wheel and most of the young players back next year, it'll be a HUGE shock to me at least if they lose 90+ games. I'm not saying they'll make the playoffs, but next season won't be like 98.

the max 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 MLB: won'tjinxitwon'tjinxitwon'tjinxitwon'tjinxit. I'll just say "Go Red Sox!!" Braves don't win the NL East. NHL: Rick Nash gets considered for MVP The Dallas Stars miss the playoffs.
treble 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 The Yankees finish 3rd in the AL East next year after they have a bad run of injuries and no young players that anyone wants to trade for replacements. The Red Sox win the divison and the Jays could win the Wild Card or at least come close.

I DO think they'll win around 80 games, and people will be surprised at the drop off.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NFL: Patriots will be the AFC champs(and therefore will proably win the Superbowl). The Chiefs have been exposed by nearly losing to the Raiders and Chargers. Way to go out on a limb there. Maybe if you picked the Bengals, you could consider it a bold pick. I don't think anything major will happen in the NHL, NBA or NFL this year, but I will make one about MLB. Steinbrenner's replacements for Clemens, Wells and the soon to leave Pettite don't live up to the hype. The Yanks finish third in the East (behind Toronto and the WS Champion Red Sox) and Georgie goes on a rampage next off-season.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Jazz will beat the Lakers in the first round. Somebody will save the Montreal Expos. The Chicago Bears will overcome all odds to make the playoffs. The Montreal Canadiens win #25.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 MLB: There will be baseball in Montreal in 2005. What a shame. Well, no. What, you honestly think Selig & Co. can get their collective thumb of their BUTT and move this team? They've had going on three years, and nothing yet. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Never mind. I read that as "There will NOT be baseball in Montreal in 2005" which is the right thing to do. Never mind me and my reading comprehension problems.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NFL - Vikings will make amazing run, including beating Seattle and Kansas and go on to win the Super Bowl (I'll combine this with my prediction in the "Mik at Cornell is a good luck charm" thread) NCAA - KSU will beat OU tomorrow and Michigan will find its way into the BCS title game and win
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 -Hmmm interesting topic...well I already said in the offseason thread that I don't think the Yankees won't win another World Series this decade but I don't know how bold that is. -Barry Bonds will come in to Spring Training 20-30 lbs. lighter and will miss half the season due to injuries and hit less than 20 homeruns. -The A's will only win 88 games this year but still win the A.L. West. -The only players that are suspended for steroid use will conveniently be non-star players on small market teams. Okay not really bold there. -The heir apparant to Bud Selig will not be Sandy Alderson but Giants' majority owner Peter Magowan. -Before the decade is over the Arizona Cardinals will win a Super Bowl. -The 49ers will not reach the playoffs for another 10 years. -Michael Vick's career will be plauged by injuries and he'll never lead the Falcons to another playoff victory. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NHL: The Flyers will flame out in the first round of the playoffs, and sig boy gets the axe. Part 1 of that really isn't a bold prediction, but part 2 is. I think Clarke has compromising pictures of Ed Snider with Kate Smith, Ed Van Impe, and several farm animals. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 George Steinbrenner in desperation will buy a Baby Ruth candy bar from the Boston Red Sox for $125,000. Not willing to admit the mistake, he installs the candy bar in left field. Despite a poor zone rating, the candy bar's fielding is still widely praised by the NY press. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NBA: Orlando breaks the record for most consecutive losses (23 for one season, 24 if you count going across 2 seasons) on their way to an equal or worse record than the 72/73 Philadelphia team. Sooner or later they'll just say fuck it and give up trying, if they haven't already. I also hope they can break Dallas' 93/94 home losing streak of 19 games, only 8 more to tie it. Guest Gatornibs Report post Posted December 6, 2003 The Devil Rays will make the playoffs as the Wild Card in the next 10 seasons. The Boston Red Sox will NOT make the playoffs Philly will sign A-Rod I will get laid soon The Jacksonville Jaguars will win a Super Bowl in the next 10 seasons So will the Bengals The Bengals will make it to the AFC Title Game Memphis Grizzlies will make the playoffs Lebron James will not win rookie of the year. UF will win a national title before Leak graduates. OU, LSU, and USC will ALL lose tomorrow, making the BCS go haywire. Eli Manning will go to the Steelers Peyton will go down as the best QB ever once he wins 3 Super Bowls Houston Texans will make the playoffs in the next 4 years. Florida will win the national title in Basketball next year if David Lee stays The Pope will die
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 6, 2003 The Devil Rays will make the playoffs as the Wild Card in the next 10 seasons. That's something I'd lay large sums of money on being wrong. Their biggest problem is not necessarly becoming the best second place team, but A second place team. New York or Boston will have an issue with that. I don't necessarily see either team winning a world series (Disgraceful) But I DO see them getting into the baseball version of an arms race with their off season moves and holding a stranglehold on the top of the division (flipping back and forth) for a while. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 The Twins will be still win the AL Central next year. Joe Mauer wins ROY. Mark Prior wins is 1st of 4 Cy Youngs Carson Palmer trade rumors begin after Kitna leads Bengals into 2nd round. The Blues break the hex and make the Stanly Cup. Orlando doesn't break the record for longest losing streak, or least number of wins in a season. Gophers return to Frozen Four. At least twice reports of Steinbrenner contacting Roger Clemens about returning are reported.
Guest TheGregWitul Report post Posted December 6, 2003 NFL: Dallas fails to make the playoffs, and Carolina is knocked off in the first round (If they finish with enough wins to get the first week bye, then they end up losing the next week.). New England goes on to win the Super Bowl, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles by six points. The following season, the Pats acquire Keyshawn Johnson and finish 9-7. The Buccaneers finish 12-4 and win the Super Bowl..... College Football: What is considered an upest, USC defeats OU in the Championship by fourteen points... NBA: With all the hype set on Lebron and the Lakers, fans and media alike are shocked to see the Lakers lose to Sacramento in the playoffs. The Kings go on to defeat the Pistons in seven games to capture their first NBA title. The Spurs lose in the first round of the playoffs, and the Jazz and Nuggets each finish with better overall records than the Trailblazers and T'Wolves..... j. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 It's not just who OU's beaten..it's the way they've done it. They've proven with there defense and offense that they are very good. The quality of the team does matter but you can tell by watching the way they pull things off that they are THAT good. But I give up. I bet if they won the Big XII and then put down USC very handedly people would still find something to denounce them with. "Oh well...they didn't face very good teams. They had it to easy. They didn't prove anything!" Yes because nothing good can come out of Oklahoma or something.....
