A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2003 I got a haircut back like late March-early April, and it was pretty fucking short, like I couldn't do much with it at all. Hasn't been touched since then, and it's like at my shoulders pretty much...can't see my eyes or ears most of the time too. So yeah, it's kinda long, whips around in the wind pretty nicely. It's thick as hell and has a hell of a wave in it. I call it indian(native american) hair. I know it would probably look awful, so I give up everytime I try to grow it. Its blonde and allot of girls i know are in awe of the hair and how nice it is. I just can't go a day without washing and conditioning it, i just feel dirty otherwise. I finally started growing it again last year and now it's almost one lenth down to my shoulders. Dark brown, lots of wave and body, no greys yet. Thank God. After chopping it off, I sported regular ol' short hair for about four years when, around my 23rd birthday, I took to the notion to start shaving myself bald. I sported the skinhead look up until a couple of months ago, and am now back to regular ol' short hair. I want long hair but my problem is I dont think it will come out as I want it too. Right now I just have it like a 2 around the sides and it gets just a little longer as it gets to the top. Ya know. I would like to grow it out maybe to the ears all even and have it be a little frizzy maybe a little wavy like Bam Margera or Kutcher but Im afraid since my hair is thick and Italian it will just be flat and I will look like a rocker. Although right now the sides and back are starting to become an afro, so I need to decide if I want to stick with this haircut, or just shave everything off.........my long hair i approx down to the top of my chest when combed out, but it starts to curl and get a tad wavy shich raises it about an inch or two. Well, my mum was kind enough to give me thick ass Asian hair (see above Prince pics)through the power of genetics. Trust me, Asian hair is thicker, heavier and straighter than Mediterranean, Italian, and almost any other hair there is. (In fact, in high school there was a girl doing a project on the tensile strength of different animal hair, and she did mine as a gag - it was second in strength and resistivity only to horse hair, so I guess I can do violin repair when money gets tight.) Anyway, there's a definite problem with heavy hair just hanging flat and straight, and the only thing you can really do with it is tie it back or have it hanging like Neil in The Young Ones. If you want it to have wave and shape, there's two things you can do: 1 - Wash it/wet it through, and the hair will separate into individual strands and look all comic booky and cool (or as my budy at college used to call it, "wrestler hair"). Whack in a shitload of gel and it'll look awesome. 2 - Get a bunch of layers cut in. This'll make it have more shape and look better when it's down, but basically it's a pain in the ass when you want to tie it back out of the way (the shorter layers at the front that aren't long enough to tie back). Of course, if you want it wavy/frizzy like Bam and your hair is straight as a nail, you're going to have to find a discreet place to get a light perm or find a chick that doesn't mind you wandering around the house with rollers a couple nights a week. If you've got classic Italian hair, and want it long, pull it back into one of those tight greasy mafioso ponytails. Otherwise, deal with being shaggy, I imagine. For some reason i always imagined you being really short, skinny with shaved blonde hair and one of those nylon jackets you get from the market. Oh yeah, and i thought you had a gold earing and an eyebrow piercing and really dark eyes, like a druggie. Oh and you wear black loafers with jeans and a fake burberry shirt. I have no idea why.
