Could someone give a few links to sites or list some examples of these two and their politics?

Thanks in advance

A few for Hogan:

Boycotted losing title to Bret in 1993 after saying he will.

Boycotted losing the WCW title to Flair in summer of 94 after he won it in June.

Apparently made Vader look like shit.

Gets jobs for talentless friends like Brutus Beefcake & Nasty Boys.

HBK:

Everytime he won when everyone thought he'd lose in 1996-97.

Not to mention Ric Flair ended up coming out in drag during a strap match against Vader, and of course Hogan ended up with the win. And, let's not forget the 9-on-2 Uncensored match that Hogan and Savage won.

Hogan was AWFUL against these two. Just brutal.

Anyone else think this is kind of a silly thread?

"Politics" is not just the bad stuff, as it has been interpreted. It could be anything from Bret Hart being doublecrossed in Montreal to wrestlers being nice to each other because they have to work together.

However, if you're wanting examples of Hogan and Michaels acting selfishly at a time when the best thing for business would have been anything but what happened, quite a few examples can probably be cited.

Do we need to pin a thread with links in this folder to lessen questions being repeated?

Teke's rant with Michaels is an absolutely hilarious look at how drugs can haze one's mind and make them truly dellusional. Like I totally dig Michaels and have tolerated most of his backstage bullshit, but his excuses and viewpoints into these incidents are about as legitimate as a broke crackwhore on Judge Greg Mathis.

Sounds alot like HHH in 2003.

I've learned to expect HHH to win every match he is in

But he will lose a tag match once every 3 weeks or so.

After Hogan had won the title and was into his run he had a fued with Vader. Hogan totally no sold Vader's powerbomb after it had been built as the most devestating move in WCW history. Sting was put ot for a couple of months with a bruised spleen and spiting up blood from just one. Against Hogan Vader didn't even get a one cout. After that Hogan basically dominated the rest of the series and never jobbed to Vader in return.

Whoah - I know Hogan played politics, but that's awful. Not even a ONE count? I know Hogan kicked out of the Rock Bottom before two against Rock, but it added to the match and he at least jobbed.

Kicking out of finishers is a pretty common thing these days. But then........oh boy.

Hogan no sold the Vader powerbomb at a COTC leading to their big SuperBrawl match

Even back then i went from "Damn should be a awesome match" to "Well Hogan just killed off Vader's threat"

That always bugged me

Yeah, I remember how jaw dropping it was back in the day for someoneone to kick out or nosell another man's finisher. I remember when i was a kid and that would happen, I would usually immediately think "Oh my God, someone is about to die in the ring"

At least Hogan's stuff never screwed up the on air angles like HBK did. The "Losing My Smile" speech was worse than anything Hogan ever did. And at least at this point Hogan is at least trying to put people over instead of going over everyone.

I have never liked Hogan, even as a youngster. The first match I ever saw was DiBiase vs. Savage, and I remember how much I got into Ted DiBiase and how much I despised Hogan for basically cheating to help Savage win. Now that I know a lot of backstage stories, I also don't like the fact that Hogan did not want to job for DiBiase for the World Title.

i once read an interview with Vader where he was talking about how he got hurt in a match (i don't remember with whom) where he fucked up he sternum real bad, it was cracked and he could barely breathe and was generally in alot of pain...well, Bischoff kept calling him and telling him to come back before it was completely healed. Vader told him he was too hurt and to ask Hogan to cover for him...Bischoff did, and called Vader back and said that Hogan wouldn't do it...not because he was busy or was doing some thing else, Hogan just didn't want to...prick.

I'm still trying to figure out why Hogan's no-selling of Vader's power bomb comes as a surprise to so many people, given that he'd been no-selling finishers for the previous decade

I predicted it would happen as soon as they were forecasting a Vader-Hogan feud

Thank god I never watched wCw during the Hogan era. I probably would have shot my TV if I had seen Vader get dissed like that. The days of "Hulking Up" should have been long gone by then, given the quality of talent that was running around at the time.

Hogan so far:

- killed curt hennig's push. I actually have a mathc on wrestlefest'90 between the 2.

- killed jake roberts main event push when jake got a face reaction after ddting hogan back on his old segment.

- never did biz for bret in '93 while at the same time stealing yoko's heat at wm9.

- got up immediately after vader's powerbomb in '94, killing the move in the process.

- turned heel so he could ride nash and hall's wave of popularity in '96 since they pretty much made it clear they wouldn't job to broken down hogan in the first place.

- brought back Piper in '97 just to get himself more main events.

- brought back warrior in '98 so he could get the job he did in '90 back.

- killed the dream match of the 80s, flair/hogan, when he refused to go along the program of wm8, opting for sid/hogan instead (sid also had a clause in his contract that gave him a wm main event, btw).

- killed bret hart's push in wcw by getting him to join the nwo instead of the wcw faction.

- killed sting's push in '97 after the "fast count" at starrcade.

- never really lost to sting in clear fashions.

- beat ric flair all of '94, just b/c he could.

just examples...

Sigh, I have to clearify EVERYTHING around here...

Hogan so far:

- killed curt hennig's push. I actually have a mathc on wrestlefest'90 between the 2.

Which led to Curt lighting up the IC division with Bret Hart a year later - putting Bret over as a legitimate singles competitor. Hennig clearly wasn't ready for a ME push and was much better suited in the midcard...

- killed jake roberts main event push when jake got a face reaction after ddting hogan back on his old segment.

Of course. Jake Roberts on top would have ruined the business - the guy looks like a used car salesman. No way that could = money. And the SNAKE? My GOD, what a horrible influence on children. It would give them nightmares. Jake belonged in the midcard. He's the Rikishi of his day, with better promos.

- never did biz for bret in '93 while at the same time stealing yoko's heat at wm9.

Which got a bigger pop than anything on the card! NOT TO MENTION he totally put over Yoko at the King of the Ring THUS *making* that event important right away. As for Bret, they stylistically don't match - even visually, it's not a good fit. Hogan works better as the underdog rising up - the american hero. Bret was Canadian - the feud would have turned him heel and killed off any of his likable aspects... really, it was the best. Besides, without Hogan sending down Hennig, Bret probably never would have been in that position in the first place...

- got up immediately after vader's powerbomb in '94, killing the move in the process.

Dude, did you ever hear of the world ADRENALINE. Shit, you guys just pick things apart to hate... Vader couldn't even make it in the WWF for crying out loud! He's just a fat piece of shit.

- turned heel so he could ride nash and hall's wave of popularity in '96 since they pretty much made it clear they wouldn't job to broken down hogan in the first place.

You're right. Hogan did nothing for the NWO.

- brought back Piper in '97 just to get himself more main events.

Oh, so Hogan is evil for holding down poor widdle jakey snakey and curty worty, but he can't bring up a LEGEND like Roddy Piper? Holy Hypocrisy batman! Hogan was just looking out for his fellow-wrestler, completely selfless - but he can't do that, oh no! He's EVIL and only thinks about himself! DAMN HIM!

- brought back warrior in '98 so he could get the job he did in '90 back.

It was a natural progression. That's what happens in FEUDS, wrestlers trade wins.

- killed the dream match of the 80s, flair/hogan, when he refused to go along the program of wm8, opting for sid/hogan instead (sid also had a clause in his contract that gave him a wm main event, btw).

Dream match of the 80's IN THE 90'S! Hogan knew that Hogan/Flair could never work out well simply because it was too late to do it. So he did Vince a favour and gave Sid a rub at Mania so Sid wouldn't complain and... the rest is history.

- killed bret hart's push in wcw by getting him to join the nwo instead of the wcw faction.

Please, Bret Hart was DOA in WCW - everyone knew that. Hogan saw that and wanted Bret at his side so he could be as protected as possible. When you ride with the Hulkster, everything is cool. The NWO was edgy and Hogan knew Bret was a lil too old fashioned and square and wouldn't fit in - so he put the black and white on him and he was mr cool.

- killed sting's push in '97 after the "fast count" at starrcade.

IT WAS THE HOTTEST ANGLE GOING FOOL! Why end it at Starrcade?! God, don't you know ANYTHING about booking?

- never really lost to sting in clear fashions.

Always leaving something open - just in case. That's SMART. It allows both men to play a trump card whenever they need it.

- beat ric flair all of '94, just b/c he could.

Hogan just came into the promotion and needed to make a statement. Geez, people here complain all the time how the Invasion failed because Vince wouldn't let the WCW guys go over any of his top WWF guys. It's what they had to do to make an impact - geez, more hypocrisy. Big Surprise.
