LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 So Austin is gonna wrestle again, but not against Goldberg?? I'd figure the Austin/Goldberg match would atleast bring back some people who wanted to see it...even if it is a few years too late.
JN News 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 What about Goldberg vs. Lesnar?

Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 12, 2003 No doubt Taker vs Kane, Goldberg vs Lesnar and a 6 man tag involving HHH, Austin, Rock, Foley and whoever else. I've no interest in seeing Flair vs Steamboat. Hang on a sec..how about The Rock vs Michaels? That'll draw.
KTID 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 It involves HBK...it can't draw.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Learn from years past that you never should expect what will happen until at least two weeks before the show. Idea's change. People get injured. People lose their smiles.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Yeah cos HBK isn't over or anything or arguably the most talented performer that has ever graced a WWE ring.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Being talented means DICK in terms of drawing. Do you know much much HBK drew when he was WWF Champ?
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 12, 2003 A good worker = fans know they will see a good match = they buy the PPV. I can't be bothered to to go and get PPV buys from when HBK was on top (which, incidently, was a bad time for WWF all round...ANYONE as champ would not have set the world on fire during that period due to a very poor roster and the popularity of WCW) so can you tell me? The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Ok. Then explain how Hogan drew so much money. And no, I don't know the figures either, but it was not good.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Hogan at his peak was a better draw than HBK was i'm not arguing that.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Hogan at his peak was a better draw than HBK was i'm not arguing that. Hogan at his worst outdrew HBK.

KTID 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Its quite simple, HBK has never drawn a dime in his career, why would he start now?
haVoc 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 HBK headlining a PPV won't draw 500,000 buys, but him being some where on the WM card could help do that. He is a draw on some level.
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Being talented means DICK in terms of drawing. Do you know much much HBK drew when he was WWF Champ? Hmm... He did pretty good in late 97, early 98.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 like HAvoc said.......HBK is a draw when he's in the midcard or uppercard. his place on WrestleMania 19 was perfect

They were low but never as low as Bret/Sid at It's Time, the worst buyrate of the year or Bret/Bulldog from Dec 95 which is the lowest WWF buyrate of all time. Bad Blood 97 also had the highest IYH PPV buyrate of that year, even beating out Canadian Stampede. So if Shawn couldn't draw a dime, what does that make Bret? The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Thanks for proving my original point, Chaos. Bret Hart - one of the best technical wrestlers ever - drew dick. Technical wrestling skill has nothing to do with drawing.
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 You know..... Austin main evented PPVs in 1997 too. Look how great they did. Hey, maybe it was just a bad year...
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 If they want to get all these guys on but don't want them dominating the show, how about Evolution vs. The Rock, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, and Ricky Steamboat?
geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 Actually HBK was the most successful champ until Austin in the 1990s. Keller did a piece on it in his 1996 yearbook. House shows were up, buyrates were up and he stablized the roster. Not to mention he headlined Mania 14. Of course some of you never let facts get in the way of a stupid opinion. Just because people were more successful after him it does not mean HBK did not draw.
geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 If you don't believe me I can write out the keller article which uses actual facts.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 If they want to get all these guys on but don't want them dominating the show, how about Evolution vs. The Rock, Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels, and Ricky Steamboat? So Randy Orton can pin Steamboat?
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2003 I'd like to see the article, actually. I've never heard anyone refer to HBK as a great draw - granted, not a horrible draw, but nothing overly good. And I'd have a hard time believing he did better then Hogan. And don't you think that Mike Tyson and Austin had a lot to do with the WM 14 buyrate? I stand by my original point. Being a talented wrestler does NOT mean that you're also a good draw. Good wrestlers CAN be good draws, but it's not a guarantee.
