Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted December 14, 2003 By the looks of things on Smackdown last week logic dictates that they're going to have Benoit vs Lesnar at Wrestlemania and not at the Rumble. Benoit wins the Rumble to get the title shot at Wrestlemania. With the story the WWE is setting up now it seems that this is the plan as the Rumble is too soon for Benoit getting a title shot story wise. Heyman said Benoit never would acquire another one so if Benoit does get a shot at the Rumble, Benoit's quest story wise and Heyman's threats don't make the story special enough. What's the point of making threats if they're just going to be obsolete so soon? Hardcore Holly might be getting the title shot at the Rumble since the WWE already had a big match in Benoit vs Lesnar to counter the Raw PPV. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 I am going to ditto Spiff's sentiments here. A big problem could occur if they dared put Brock/Holly in the title match in Philly. You could get another Rock/Brock Summerslam scenario. I don't think they need any crowds cheering Brock right now and I would be willing to put money down on that happening if it is Brock/Holly. Like everyone else said, Heyman saying that Benoit will NEVER get another title shot just demands that he win the Rumble and go to WM. Just on a small note, anyone else notice that Benoit has never been in the Rumble match, yet? Anyway, I figure that WWE will make the Christmas Smackdown in Iraq like a supercard (since Smackdown has no Decemeber PPV), with Brock vs. Holly for the title, and Big Show vs. Cena for the U.S. Title. Cena wins the U.S. Title and faces Brock in a Title-For-Title match at the Rumble. If that doesn't work for you, have Brock only defend the WWE Title. (Sets up Brock/Goldberg@Mania) then you'll have Beniot/Eddie fueding all the way to Mania. And you know who wins........Beniot! Thats what I'll do. But wait what about Beniot/Brock 2? Hmmm Well after Brock gets done feuding with Goldberg he can get a wwe title match at Backlash.Have Beniot win CLEAN! At the Rumble, for SD, CEna and Show will continue to feud, seeing as Show is still US champ. Cena wont win at the rumble, no, the US title win should happen at Mania. Also, at the Rumble, Holly/Lesnar will fight, with Lesnar F-5ing Holly for the win after a surprising put-up by Holly. Benoit will win the rumble. The next SD, Brock tries to find any way possible out of fighting Benoit. What it eventually comes down to is Holly/Benoit at NWO, with the loser not getting another shot at Lesnar while he holds the title. Benoit goes over clean, post match handshake. In the us situation, Cena and Show would continue to feud, their No Way Out match being Last Man Standing. Draw, after the redebut of the Proto Bomb/Proto Slam/whatever it's called. Come Mania, we have a uilt up Brock/Benoit, and a decently built Cena/Show. Not as much as I'd like, but hey. CEna and Benoit both take wins at Mania, with Benoit managing to escape the Brocklock this time, then find some twisted way to put on a Sharpshooter. Alternatively, Brock again goes for the SSP, but makes his accuracy 0 for 2, Benoit goes up, headbutt, cover. But, knowing WWE, we'll have Angle/Lesnar again. Guest Deebo Report post Posted December 15, 2003 With the way they are hyping Lesnar as the Greatest WWE Champion ever, and Heyman last week saying how RAW had no direction or a champion to build around like Smackdown did, it seems, at least to me, that it will be Lesnar vs. Goldberg at WM XX, with both men having the titles. I don't see HOW you can have that match without the belts, because it's supposedly going to be the Main Event if it happens, and you can't hype that as the Main Event when they are both coming off title losses. And if they both lost they would really have no reason to face each other anyway.
