Youth N Asia Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Berlyn seemed ruined after the first promo...it went on way too long and was oddly bright
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Berlyn was a great gimmick, but Alex Wright being a douchetard killed it out of the gate when Hacksaw totally no sold his ass in his debut match. It was an updating and edgier take on the foreign menace. Is Alex Wright a real asshole or something backstage, cause Paul Roma also no sold him during a match. I've never heard anything like that about him though? Alex Wright ruled. Awesome hair. His finisher was a German Suplex. FOR CHRIST SAKES, HE HAD THE COOLEST DANCE EVA~!
ChrisMWaters Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Stevie Richards as Dude Love. I LOVED when they had him doing that. Too bad it didn't last too long.

Oh, I totally agree, the Boogie Knights were beyond cool. I was just wondering with the original question because Steve Austin even took a verbal swipe at him in a shoot interview, yet you never here anyone say anything about his rep in the back.
Youth N Asia Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 The besy thing Alex ever did was refer to Tony Shavonie as 'that fat pig of a man." I liked him when he was a new babyface, and I liked him as a heel. Didn't care for Berlyn
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 When I played football, and some how scored a touch down, or hit someone nice and hard, I got up, and started doing the Alex Wright Dance. His Dance Owned.
WrestlingDeacon Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 I think the deal with Roma and Wright was that Roma was just a prima donna who was pissed that he had to go out there and make this green kid look like a million bucks while he was toiling as a low carder after having gotten a big push as a horsemen. With Duggan, I think it was that Jim was offended by the Berlyn character and didn't want to job to Wright based on that. I don't think anyone really had personal issues with Wright outside of the fact that he was getting a push beyond what his talents at the time warranted, but it's not like that doesn't happend all the time.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 I'm actually a little mark for Wright. When I started watching WCW in '97, the first match I actually saw was an Alex Wright match (I think against Steve McMichael), and I thought he was very good. Mongo...ugh... But yeah. I actually used to get up and speak faux-German and do the dance when I was 12...
Zorin Industries Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 The man, the myth, the legend.
syxx2001 Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Wrath? The monster Wrath, not the ninja.
Zorin Industries Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Have just downloaded Wrights old techno theme music. How come this guy never made it, the look, the skills and the great music?
King Kamala Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 I got sent to the principal's office in 6th grade for doing the dance Alex Wright used to do in gym class while I was running the mile. It was so worth it.
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 ...why the FUCK would you be sent to the Principal's office for during the dance while running the mile?
Guest champchavez Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Alright! Can this thread move past Alex Wright. Alex Wright was amusing, and should have gotten a Honky Tonk Man-like title run. Berlyn, the original gimmick, was superb, and should gotten a big push. But that's WCW. Now no more. Haha the dance Haha. Enough about the dance. I bet you also liked to do Rock impressions, and I bet there hilarious, right! So who else, two pages should have gotten us some where. I want to see more Borne Agains, and Wraths, and.... "Dean Douglas" This was a fantastic gimmick that could have made Shane a top heel in the company. That is... if Shane didn't run into so many problems in the fed (see Shane vs. the Kliq 101).
Steviekick Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Stevie Richards as Dude Love. I LOVED when they had him doing that. Too bad it didn't last too long. That would be classic. Now that Foley is moonlighting on Raw again, it would be awesome if they had a gimmick of Stevie buying the character.
Guest Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Uhhhhhh.............Dean Douglas was over.
Zetterberg is God Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Uhhhhhh.............Dean Douglas was over. Damn shame the Klique had to ruin that one.
King Kamala Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 ...why the FUCK would you be sent to the Principal's office for during the dance while running the mile? I dunno but my lesbian gym teacher (not an insult, a fact) send me there cause she thought it was irresponsible and interrupting the class. The principal ended sending me right back to finish the mile anyways.
Guest commie_050 Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I know we should be moving past Alex Wright, but just one more point... Jesus, he's hung like a moose.
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Too bad I'm hung like a Cthulhu's tentacles.
Mrnoitaull Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I'd have to go with Posetively Kanyon oh and DDp's last gimmick"..that's a good thing!!"
deancoles Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The Powers of Pain were great until they lost that Entrance Theme.
