Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I got the Hulk on DVD for Christmas. I figured it would be as good as the other Marvel movies (X-Men, Spider-Man) but I was bored. The plot was hard to follow and there was too much science stuff. Also, I did not like the Father as a mad scientist. Did anyone see "The Hulk"?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 29, 2003 The plot was hard to follow and there was too much science stuff Technical term, eh? But if you don't get "science stuff" why ask for The Hulk? Personally, I'm not interested because the commercials with CGI Hulk on real world settings make it look like Who Framed Roger Fucking Rabbit.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Well, I just though, Hulk Smash! for two hours. I thought the trailor was good but I think the Hulk's size changed during the movie.
the max 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I didn't see it because I was never a fan of The Hulk at all.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I liked the movie but disliked the last 30 minutes or so which focused too much on the Nick Nolte character of the mad scientist. Overall the movie was good but I would edit out the final fight and happy ending scenes. I would rather have Banner hitch hiking on a rural road rather than the actual ending. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I thought it was a good movie. People seem to look at super hero movies and think "Oh it's not Spider Man or X-Men!! BOOOOO!" I loved DareDevil...and I liked The Hulk.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I liked the Hulk, and despite what Entertainment Weekly thinks, IT DID NOT BOMB!
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 This was the best of the Marvel films. Finally a serious superhero film rather than the repetitive smash 'em bash 'em stuff of pretty much everything else.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 X2 was the best film based on Marvel characters that I have ever seen.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 X2 and Spider-Man are tied, for me. Although a few basic Spidey fundamentals were changed, I felt the movie stayed true to the root of the comic, and X2 was just a strong film overall that had awesome action scenes...and Brian Cox being his awesome self. Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I liked the Hulk, and despite what Entertainment Weekly thinks, IT DID NOT BOMB! Really? Because I think it's ticket sales would disaggree. Hulk was a huge disappointment for me. But I guess it was worth it just to see Eric Bana and THE WORLD'S FAKEST BEARD!

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I got it for $3 from that Kraft offer a while back. For the price of a rental, not bad but I would have been pissed had I A) Paid $8 to see it in theatres or B)Paid $15+ for it on DVD.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 The Hulk movie was awful. Slow, and full of plotholes. Just...hated...it. I found Spider-Man to be awesome at first viewing, long-term it was "pretty good". X-Men had a lot of characters to establish, but X-2 was phenominal, IMO. DareDevil suffered from a weak plot and not enough characterization...however, I liked its dark, gritty tone. Bullseye and Kingpin were done pretty well. Aside from the Elektra/Matt Murdock awful "park fight"...I found it enjoyable.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Didn't it earn more than what it cost to make the movie? Not hardly. It brought in $132,177,234 and cost $137 million for producing and $35 million for marketing. Of course, it seems as if few films really MAKE money these days. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 The Hulk made $241,752,288 at the box office. You are simply stating the domestic gross which ends up meaning nothing, but looks good on the 6 O'Clock news. X2 was okay, but there was really no substance to it. It was just a fun action movie. Hulk was something more. Of course the dumb teenies that can't sit still for 5 minutes without some fighting wouldn't like it, but they would be bored by The Godfather too. I still shudder whenever I hear someone say Pirates of the Carribbean was better than Master and Commander.

spiny norman 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Kahran, I disagree with what you are saying. I thought Pirates Of The Carribean was better than Master And Commander, I thought X2 was better than The Hulk but I did not find The Godfather boring nor am I a dumb teen. My favourite movie ever is Gone With The Wind, so obviously I have a pretty good attention span. The Hulk just did nothing for me and came across as pretentious tripe, whereas X2 was pretty solid. Master And Commander was good, but I felt Pirates Of The Carribean had a charm which M & C lacked. Also, I was doing work experience at a production company while POTC was being done, so I had this inside scoop thing which made it special to me.
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I went to see the Hulk expecting nothing and came away surprised at how well it was done. Considering how boring and one-dimensional the Hulk character could have been, they made the movie really fun and interesting. The only parts of the movie I found uninteresting were the ho-hum fighting scenes towards the end. I still think Spider Man was far better though
dubq 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I'm not a Hulk fan - but I saw it - and it sucked ass. Lots and lots of ass. The best thing about that movie was Nick Nolte's hair.. it looks just like it does in real life.. that whole "washed up drunk" thing really works for him. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Hulk was sooooo boring. "But it's story driven!" But the story sucked, I couldn't make myself give a damn for the well being of any of the characters.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I think the hulk was one of the very few movies where I actually left mid film. Actually the only other movie I left mid film was message in a bottle.

syxx2001 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I hate the Hulk. I watched it on 4th of July I think and it was slow and boring, but I've never been a Hulk fan. Spider-Man was a good movie, X-Men was OK, X2 was great. Daredevil was boring too, but my brothers liked it.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 Hulk was sooooo boring. "But it's story driven!" But the story sucked, I couldn't make myself give a damn for the well being of any of the characters. My thoughts exactly. My family tried watching it, but it simply seemed to drag on and on and on. They were bored by it, as was I. Whereas, in X2, the first five minutes just grab your attention like nothing else. Sure, one can argue that it's just as much CG as the Hulk itself [and they'd prolly be right], but X2 is still, in my opinion, a much better film than Hulk. Reasons: --I actually care about the characters. Wasn't too crazy about Wolverine this time around, but that's simply because I find Nightcrawler to be much more interesting [and not just because it's played to Awesome Perfection by Alan Cumming]. --Each character is interesting in their own right. The rivalry between Pyro and Bobby is like Xavier's and Magneto's, only a younger generation...plus a non-touchable love interest. --The differing views between Magneto, Xavier, and Stryker are extremely interesting, and are really the backbones of the movie. There's plenty more, but I've probably babbled on enough

Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I'm biased in my high opinion of the film, since Hulk is my favorite superhero of all time. That said, I found the movie, save for the final fight where they made Nolte into a redux of The Absorbing Man (an original Hulk villain), very well done. Of course, I would have loved it if it was HULK SMASH! for two hours, but the fact is that we actually got some depth on everyone was something different from the standard "hey I have my powers now let's have 60 minutes of fighting" style of hero movies. Hulk may not have been the best one, but it was far from the worst superhero movie.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I don't understand the people who are saying "this movie was boring! the story sucked!" I'm sorry but I think you're insane. I found this and DareDevil to be so much more enjoyable than the Spider Man and X-Men movies. I watched X-2 again and it was kind of boring.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2003 I also love Daredevil. Full of action and gritty. Granted, the whole thing was rushed between the DD/Elektra love story, the intro of Bullseye, and DD one-upping The Kingpin on their first meeting, but still a good flick, IMO.
