Bah humbug, Tom Brady should be NFL MVP. He's the NFL's Mr. Clutch. And ties are for pussies. If I had to choose one pick out of those two I'd say McNair by a hair (Dammit I hate rhyming when I'm not trying to rhyme)

The fact that the Titans continued to win without McNair and actually came out of their mini-slump when he went out should've took him out of the running.

Manning? But when he sucks........he sucks.

And there's better QB's than him! I mean what about Brady? Or Green?

Neither guy can touch his stats. Manning is the best pure passer in the game.

And neither New England nor Kansas City (especially the latter) really relied heavily on their QBs to win...New England did it with their defense, KC did it with Priest Holmes and special teams.

Who else thinks Manning and McNair should have to fight to the death for the award?

Somebody should check to see how many votes Sean Salisbury threw in there

LOL Frigid. :P

But, of course, I think it is crap, McNair should've won outright. Yes, I know. Colts beat the Titans, but think about it. Manning has much more weapons around him than McNair. McNair has played at about 60% THE WHOLE YEAR. He has carried this team. Even in the Colts loss he was MVP-like. He broke his ANKLE and knew it and continued to play and led his team almost all the way back(if it hadn't been for 3 fumbled returns by stupid Eddie Berlin).

But on top of all that, he still had arguably better STATS than Manning. Think about it. Manning had more yards, but more pass attempts. Manning had more TDs, but many more INTs.

Steve had the best passer rating(which should be the main stat) in the league.

Maybe Im beating a dead horse, but Ive been pushing Steve for MVP all year and this is somewhat disappointing.

Now watch Peyton throw 3 INTs and get crushed in the first round of the playoffs again. I swear, it is stupid to give out these awards before the playoffs.

Jamal Lewis got shafted. The guy literally threw the Ravens offense on his back and carried it into the playoffs.

my opinion...if Brett Favre didnt already have 3 mvp trophies he would have won it this year. He earned his fourth i thought...led league in tds, definitly the most valuable to his team, got into the playoffs/won division title, inspirational season.

I think Stephen Davis has a case as well. He carried the Panthers to the playoffs this year.

Funny how both award winners will most likley be on the losing end of both of their playoff games this weekend.

There's a chance that the Titans could beat the Ravens, but the Colts have no chance of beating the returning Clinton Portis and Denver.

I don't get how you can win Offensive MVP or Defensive MVP but not win the NFL MVP award.

3 votes? Priest Holmes only got THREE votes? The Titans won, what, 3 games without McNair? The Colts still have James and Harrison, so they would be decent without Manning. But without Holmes, would KC have gotten even 5 wins this year?

Whaaa? one bad game and all of the sudden Indy is shark chum? Amazing, I tells ya.

When Shanahan actually wins a playoff game without a QB named Elway, it'll be his first. Of course, I'm not saying it's a lock that Indy will win, but Jeebus, Denver isn't some all-powerful team that will make every other team cower in fear or something.

As for the MVP, Manning should have won it outright(I don't even LIKE the guy, but c'mon he is THE best QB in the league and the main reason that offense clicks like it does). Like mentioned before, the Tits have actually won WITHOUT God McNair and his overhyped CRIPPLING INJURIES OF DOOM~!, so fuck him, he can wait til next year. Hell, witht he QB rating being brought up, Manning was only liek a few tenths of a point behind God, so that argument is dead and buried.

Shanahan had Griese (sp) at QB, so he wasn't going anywhere with that guy at the healm.

He's now got a reliable QB in Plummer, a Terrell Davis-like running back who can carry the load, and nearly the same cast of characters from the Super Bowl runs. Indy is shark chum due to the fact that I don't think they'll match Denver's aggressivness in this game.

If they would drawn either KC, New England, or Tennessee, they would have a great shot, but against Denver they have no chance.

Excuses, excuses...

What bullshit. If you think Indy won't match Denver's aggressiveness, then you are kidding yourself.

Again, more bullshit. Denver won't blowout Indy 2 games in a row, nope, nada, never. Now, Indy could lose in a close game, but saying that the Colts have "no chance" is being amazingly naive.

Russ Limbaugh would not approve of this.

..........

I kid, I kid.

Manning should have won it outright, he was 2-0 against McNair, had the better record, the division title, a better pass completion percentage, and let's not forget the Tampa Bay and New Orleans games (led 21-point comeback in five minutes and had a perfect rating, respectively).

Also, Tennessee's main newspaper was allowed a vote for MVP, while the Indianapolis Star was not.
