Greatest Unfinished ECW Angles/Storylines!!!

Recommended Posts

Guest champchavez

I was wondering your opinions of the best ECW angles/storylines that led to feuds that never got finished, or in some cases never got off the ground. One of my favs was an angle in the last year and a half of the company's exsistence:

Mike Awesome and Sabu destroy RVD (and Spike Dudley) at the ECW Arena.

Unfortunately RVD was injured a week or so later, Mike Awesome split for WCW, and Sabu left the company. I think Awesome and Sabu (as a heel) would have pumped some life back into Sabu's aging career. Awesome vs. RVD could have been really great!

Does anyone remember this, or some other great angles. Another one I was thinking about, but don't know a whole lot about was the Rude-Douglas storyline: didn't the angle get all messed up because of Rude's early departure to the Fed?

Nah, Rude still worked for ECW while in the WWF and DX. It was when he went to WCW that he stopped working for Paul.

I liked the direction that Stevie Richards was heading right before he left for WCW/getting his neck injry with him being a main eventer. I really didn't remember them actually ending except for one promo they did with Nova and the Blue Meanie talking backstage and wondering whatever happened to Stevie.

two of the bigger reasons that i was so upset that ECW folded were two storylines that i really wanted to see...

: the NEW impact players w/ Justin Incredible/Steve Corino

: and Jerry Lynn's whole siding w/ Callis and that big "Jerry Lynn will only wrestle in Main Events.

i thought that both of those could've unfolded nicely.

Same here. I feel Stevie would've definetly been a main event guy had he stayed.

Two things.

1. If Stevie didn't injure his neck, he was going to fight Funk for the ECW title at the Arena, which he probably would have won.

2. I remember an angle where Taz called Stevie a pussy for leaving, and proceeded to beat Nova's ass while the Meanie ran awya scared.

I don't think Stevie would have won the title. I think it was going right back on Douglas.

Funny how Sabu beat Funk for the belt in the barbwire match simply because he couldn't get off him cause they were tangled up...so they had to count 3.

I was hella geeked for Corino/Credible...too bad it didn't happen

Anyone else remember when they had Pierre-X-JeanPierre the pirate came in and destroyed refs for a couple of weeks only to have nothing come out of it.

The Public Enemy/Dudleyz feud from early 99.

I think the horrible reaction PE received upon returning pretty much killed that one.

One of their first shows back was in Detroit at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Dudleys got madly cheered after they beat down PE. Johnny Grunge,I think, called them back out and the Dudleys beat the hell out of them again and got cheered like crazy while PE got booed. It was pretty funny.
