Rendclaw Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Oh yeah, speaking of Baldurs Gate, I got the original, thought it was real awesome, and eventually gave up in Chapter 7 because I had a weak ass party. I didn't start a new game again. I loved that game but there was too much micromanagement for me to really truly get into it. That's what was great about BG and BG2. Who was in your party? I'm currently stuck in Hot Shots Golf 3 Where? Because I'm currently going through the ranks and I want to be prepared -- I just beat the Steve Irwin wanna-be. ::sighs:: 15 days until Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 comes out... Do you know if it's going to be a conintuation of the first one or a totally different game? I've been too lazy to check... oh I kicked his ass after I got John Daly.... I went through the first set of opponents and am working on the second set, who have better clubs and play smarter... I'm stuck on the tournaments because the courses are fucking HARD. BGDA2 is about halfway between a new game and a continuation... you start with new characters, even though some of the people in the first game are present in the second... you really should check the website.
MrRant Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 Outlaw Golf.... the controls were just... ugh. Good character designs though.
Rendclaw Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I love Hot Shots, but dammit it can be hella frustrating...
Star Ocean 3 Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 Suikoden 1 is OK, but I have no motivation to finish it. Suiko 2 is the most overrated RPG ever, and 3 is just no.

I didn't start a new game again. I loved that game but there was too much micromanagement for me to really truly get into it. That's what was great about BG and BG2. Who was in your party? My party was me (Half Elf Ranger), Imoen, Khalid and Jaheira, Ajantis, and Kivan. Now I realize those guys suck, but I didn't know at the time. I like RPG's for sitting on my ass and clicking a button once in a while. Having to press space and make a strategy for my characters every 3 seconds wore me down.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 My party was me (Half Elf Ranger), Imoen, Khalid and Jaheira, Ajantis, and Kivan. Now I realize those guys suck, but I didn't know at the time. I loved those characters and always had at least half of them in any party I used (sans evil parties). The only problem you seem to have with your party is that there are no wizards/clerics -- Jaheria is your primary spell caster, unless you dual-classed Iomen. You kinda double-dipped with Kivan (who just loves Viconia, btw) and your main character. I've always liked Khalid. He got a raw deal in the BG series...
DangerousDamon Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I gave up on Super Mario Sunshine and Metroid because I couldn't get into them. Especially Mario. I also gave up on Tony Hawk 4. I was good at scoring points but not that good at completing the insanely difficult goals.
Guest ElectricRaccoon Posted January 8, 2004 Report Posted January 8, 2004 I never finished Half-Life. Once the game started being nothing but jumping puzzles, I was all like, storyline or not I've had about enough of this.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Chalk-me up for Mario Sunshine too. I just couldn't give a rats ass of finishing it when I was past the halfway in the game.
Kahran Ramsus Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Final Fantasy X, although I returned to finish it two years later in preparation for X-2 (which is much better BTW). I loved the gameplay in FFX, but the characters annoyed the hell out of me and the game was way too linear.
Guest hhheld_down Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 FFX and FFVIII for a while, FFX i still havent touched, FF8 i took a year off before finishing it, at least the ending was decent
Guest OnlyMe Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Didn't read the thread properly. Gave up on True Crime because it got silly, not because it got too hard. Carry on with your day.
Youth N Asia Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Relax. That's just what happens in threads like these. We don't stick to "topics" here.
KanadianKrusty Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I gave up on a shitload of games but I gave up on Planescape Torment particularly quickly, it's just TOO DAMN HARD.
Guest Doomsault Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Pretty close on Shinobi for PS2. F-Zero GX.......fuck that last story mode mission. Kingdom Hearts, because it sucked. Donkey Kong Country 64, that blasted old school Donkey Kong game is hard as hell.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Kingdom Hearts, because it sucked. No.
Renegade Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Kingdom Hearts, because I dont know a good game if it smacked me in the face right
Masked Man of Mystery Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I also gave up on Super Mario Sunshine. It jut didn't have that Mario feel for me and the secret levels PLAIN OUT SUCK.
Karnage Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Would sports and racing games really count as giving up? They are the type of games that never really end or were just meant for a quick play.

I only play racing games (NASCAR) to see how many cars I can crash intentionally in one 500 lap race, how long I can go without crashing, or just for the hell of it when I'm bored.
