It no worse than 2 freaking people picking Finding Nemo. It's a pretty good movie, but what are they? Fucking 10 years old? I think one of them was Latoya though, so I let it slide   .

One was LaToya, the other was Fantasia. Both have kids, although LaToya's are stepkids. So really, what they're saying is, "it's my "favourite" movie because my kids love them, but really, it's Booty Call, but that won't translate into votes".

Anyway, I enjoyed LaToya's, Jennifer's, Diana's, and Jasmine's performances last night. All very well done. Fantasia's was alright, but the whole "soul-church" style just isn't my preference so I couldn't get into it. George was absolutely terrible, just as he was last week. I've never liked him and his whole "Gosh, I'm happy for everything." act he has going. Yep, it's definitely an act. If the voting was fair, he would go NEXT week. John was better than usual, but I want him out as quickly as possible. He's a one-trick pony that knows only ONE style of singing - and he's not even very good at THAT. He puts me to sleep with absolutely every performance, and he definitely doesn't deserve to go past any of the people left on the show.

 

Common logic would say that John, Diana, or Jasmine will be going tonight. John because he sucks, Diana or Jasmine because they don't seem to have a strong audience for them.

 

But, for some reason, I'm sensing an upset booting tonight. One of those "nobody voted for them because they were so sure everyone else did" kind of upsets. With that being said, I'm going out on a limb and saying LaToya might get the boot tonight. If not the boot, then bottom 3. Just a feeling I have....

For those who missed it, George was the last person. And they told George that he was safe, and to join the top groups.

 

The two groups were Fantasia, Latoya and Jennifer and the other group was John, Diana, and Jasmine. George went over to the group with Fantasia et al. And Seacreast was like, you joined the wrong group. This is tonight's bottom 3!

 

Everyone was stunned, including John Stevens. He looked like a deer in headlights. George looked he didn't know what was going on.

Apparently next week is "Salsa" week, meaning that John will be (again) waaaaaaay out of his element. As will everyone else, because so far as I know, salsa music is not known for it's vocals (note to self: need to take salsa classes with the Fiancee).

 

So I suppose that the theme will actually be LatinPop music. So I expect heavy dosages of Shakira, Enrique, Marc Anthony and maybe even Santana (feat ____).

Are they kidding? THEY (the producers) are the ones who have the phone lines set up so you can repeatedly vote for a person - it's one of the reasons Clay finished second. THEY are the ones who have Seacrest tell us every week to "vote for our favourites", and then berate us? THEY are the ones who have Seacrest bring a baby on stage because THEIR annointed one isn't getting the votes they want?

 

So I say screw 'em. Some of you may consider the continuing presence of John Stevens to be a joke, but I think the real joke is that they're (once again) trying to tell us who to vote for, and who they want to win. So yeah, I HOPE John goes through again and I WANT Fantashia to shing her last shong, because that's the only way to tell the suits that if you give someone the keys, don't tell them how to drive.

I too want to see Fantasia fall flat on her face again. I don't hate HER too much, but I LOVE seeing the shock on EVERYONE'S faces because Fantasia, who is CLEARLY who Fuller wants to see win, was nearly booted this week.

 

Of course, I think one of the reasons this happened is because there was likely votes split between the three divas. Things might change now.

Congratulations, Starvenger, you just stated exactly what is wrong with this show.

 

As far as everyone getting super-pissed because one of the three "divas" is gone, fuck you. Especially Ripper. Week in and week out it's nothing but hatred from Ripper to John Stevens, who is 16 years old, and, coincidentally, the whitest person on the show. Every week Ripper says that he can't sing, that it's a travesty for him to be there, and that he needs to be gone. Every week Fantasia sucks, but he damn near puts a load right in the middle of his keyboard, and does the same for Latoya London and Jeniffer Hudson. Hey, Ripper, I'm going to spell this out for you: dime-a-dozen R&B singers.

 

John Stevens hearkens back to singers that actually had talent: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Junior, and their ilk. What does Fantasia bring to the table? Oh, she can sing really loud and warble a lot. Fantastic. What did Jeniffer Hudson bring to the table? Besides looking a whole lot Macy Gray and wearing unbelievably ugly outfits the first few weeks, there was nothing to her. Latoya London, I can't even name a fucking song she's sang so far. The "three divas" have, thus far, been interchangeable. Equal talent, equal marketability.

 

Pigeonhole Stevens all you want and claim that he can only sing one style, but the same goes for the "three divas". If they would put in a genre that didn't cater to Fantasia's skills, then you wouldn't be fellating her every time she walks onstage. It's the same thing with Stevens...every week it's Disco week, or Soul week, or something catering to the African American singers. If they had Big Band week, you'd be the first to say that Fantasia didn't have a chance because it wasn't "her style", and you'd proceed to make excuses for why she didn't do well. Why is that when it's not John Stevens' style of choice, you claim that he has no right to be there, but when it's not Fantasia's style, it's not fair?

 

So far, Stevens has done something that Fantasia hasn't been able to do: showcase excellent control over his voice. I don't really care that Fantasia can warble and flop around on the stage and shriek at the top of her lungs about summertime, she shows me nothing. Stevens, for his age, is the best SINGER on the show.

The theory goes that all these teenage girls are voting for John Stevens because they are caught up in the geek love. Of course, if he actually went to high school with these same kind of voters and wasn't on AI, they wouldn't give him a second look.

 

Anyway, I am glad for the diva backlash. Jennifer and Fantasia have gotten too cocky for their own good. I do not want Fantasia to win. She annoys the hell out of me.

George the gay slave should've been booted off this week to be honest. Think the show hyped up the so called "Diva" final caused backlash with viewers and they voted against them out of spite, eventhough the bottom 3 didn't generate the "Diva" hype themselves which is unfair to them. Jennifer was best singer on Tuesday and then get voted off is bullshit. I'll be happy if Fantasia, LaToya, or Jasmine wins.
