So...How Many Songs Are On Your KaZaA

Recommended Posts

I'm currently pushing 1200 songs on my computer, well to be exact 1170 songs, with about 15 songs downloading right now.

Usually I don't go on a downloading craze often, I download maybe 2 songs a day, if, but today I just needed good music.

Currently downloading some MDFMK, Soilwork, Kings X

Lately the only mp3s that I have downloaded are rap mixtapes that I cannot buy anywhere. But I don't use Kazaa for it so I guess it does not count.

looking at my i tunes i have 2767 songs on my computer and i don't use kazaa we just use the get file option on instant messenger and we share throughout my dorm which means we get like 900kb transfer rates and don't have to worry about the RIAA

Fun Fact: 153 mp3s can fit on a CD-R.

How does one put MP3s onto a CD-R? I have to convert to WAV format using my fucking Adaptec burner...

I have 432 songs in my WinAmp playlist, but 433 songs altogether. One song is a RealPlayer only file, and I haven't gotten around to converting it to MP3 yet.

FUNNY NOTE: 73 of the 433 tracks are from bands from my homestate of Massachusetts, 15 of which are from bands I know at least one member of.

No, it won't play in any CD player. It's just a data storage thing. There are a few out there that will play MP3 data CDs, though when MP3 players and iPods started to become the big thing, the market on those thinned.

I have something around 4000 mp3s, but don't use Kazaa. A good chunk of those are actually CDs I own and have just ripped to get on my iPod.

Also, let it be said that, if you don't have an iPod yet, just get one. Save up some cash, work an extra shift - the 15 gig one is only $299 now. As long as you've got firewire or USB2, it's totally worth it.

You sure it'll play in any CD player?

I listen to them on my MP3 CD player. I made an all Outkast disc of 5 albums plus some remixes with other rappers from the ATL.

I own 200+ CDs that I actually paid for and mix & match them. My MP3 CD player is from the year 2000 before the iPod era.

That depends on the file size. I like to download at 192 kbs (There are distinct differences in the quality, and in some songs, such as the One Step Closer remix from the remix album Linkin Suck did, distinct differences in the song), and at that file size, you get about 100-110, depending on song length.

Still, a shitload of music.

You're probably thinking of someone different, but I'll see what you have.

I just started using Soulseek but haven't played around with it much yet.  How do you download a whole album?

I've never tried SoulSeek, but if it has the option to search for archive files (.rar, .zip or .ace) you'd just have to search for the album title using the archive option. Don't know if there are people who share complete albums on SoulSeek, though.

I download albums (and pretty much everything else) with Emule.

Unless they are popular bands with popular singles, the only thing I ever see on a soulseek search is full albums. As my collection can attest, you can find the rarest shit you need aswell.

Guest El Satanico

I have around 4500 MP3's, but none of them are shared on Kazaa. Around 1500 are from CDs I own.

I don't use Kazaa to download MP3's anymore. I've moved to soulseek, but I only share recent downloads and only for a week or two.
