B. Brian Brunzell Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 The Pogues- Rum, Sodomy & the Lash I bought a Charlie Parker album as well, but the name eludes me at the moment. It's Bird, so it's all good.
SamoaRowe Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Today I bought "Want Two" by Rufus Wainright. I'm really excited to have it, it comes with a full-length concert dvd as well.
ArkhamGlobe Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 I just ordered the following: Can - Ege Bamyasi Ennio Morricone - Once Upon a Time in the West
B. Brian Brunzell Posted November 17, 2004 Report Posted November 17, 2004 Well, the bird album in question is Forever Gold. I haven't had the oppourtunity to give it a listen, since Rum, Sodomy & the Lash is on repeat in the cd player due to it's fucking ownage.
godthedog Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 rolling stones - 'exile on main street' and 'let it bleed'. the former i only owned on tape for years, & left it at home. the latter i sold a while ago. i missed them both.
PLAGIARISM! Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Ordered Dongs of Sevotion (apparently good despite that title) by Smog.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Today was a diverse day. Les Savy Fav's Inches, and N.W.A.'s Efil4zaggin, commonly known as Niggaz4life. This is the remaster with the excellent 100 Miles and Runnin' EP appended to it.
Guest Fire and Knives Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Wonderful gluttony. K.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 K, you might be the one person here who spends more money on cd's than I. I congratulate you. Anyway, I picked up two today: Letters To Cleo- Aurora Gory Alice Lauryn Hill- The Mis-Education of Lauryn Hill
godthedog Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 Wonderful gluttony. K. good god. how do you even have the time to digest all that? Letters To Cleo- Aurora Gory Alice awesome poprock album. i still have it on cassette from like 1995.
CanadianChick Posted November 21, 2004 Report Posted November 21, 2004 The Roots-Do You Want Moore?!!!??! Weezer-Weezer (The Blue Album) Fozzy-Happenstance Local H-Here Comes the Zoo
B. Brian Brunzell Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 The Roots-Do You Want Moore?!!!??! Local H-Here Comes the Zoo Great pick-ups. Do You Want More?!!!??! is probably my third favourite Roots album behind Things Fall Apart and the masterful illadelph halflife. Here Comes the Zoo is HANDS DOWN the best Local H album, and one of my favourite rock albums of all-time. "(Baby Wants To) Tame Me" and "What Would You Have Me Do?" are both brilliant and very Zeppelin-esque. The entire album is nearly flawless, if you ask me.
Guest Fire and Knives Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Wonderful gluttony. K. good god. how do you even have the time to digest all that? There's really no point during my day that I don't have music playing. Also, I like doing shit like burning myself Air/Mastodon mixes, so what doesn't get my full attention will get put on something intentionally abrasive I make for a party. I should post what I download in one day. It can get ridiculous. K.
godthedog Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 last night: billy joel - '52nd street' (won't play on my cd player, i have to return it) frank sinatra - 'songs for swingin' lovers'. good stuff, but not as good as i was hoping for. jeff buckley - 'live at sin-é (legacy edition)'. found at tower records for $20. beyond excellent. great liner notes as well.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 jeff buckley - 'live at sin-é (legacy edition)'. found at tower records for $20. beyond excellent. great liner notes as well. That album is fuckign great. I love the monologues in between songs, especially the bit about Nusrat Fati Ali Kahn.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Of course. A small handful of awful lyrics aside, this is very good. Much more arresting than All That You Can't Leave Behind's adult-contemporary fixation. If you don't like U2, obviously don't bother, but any fan should be super-satisfied.

Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 An ex-girlfriend of mine that adored Buckley played me his cover of "I Against I." I didn't know how to feel about it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 What's Can sound like? I see them lumped with praise from very different people.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Just read this: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/record-revie...e-bamyasi.shtml A decent primer on the first four albums.

Giuseppe Zangara Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 Vinyl: CD (I had this one on cassette for the longest time): Stolen via file sharing:
tominator89 Posted December 5, 2004 Report Posted December 5, 2004 I got Breaking Benjamin's So Cold EP and I ordered an EP from The Dreaming (former Stabbing Westward singer, Christopher Hall's new band). Both are worth picking up.
Guest macheteofodin Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Agents of Oblivion - S/T I've only listened to a couple songs off of it. Pretty damn good. I liked Acid Bath so I gave them a shot. Goatwhore - Funeral Dirge for the Rotting Sun Makes me want to mutilate Christians...I guess they completed their mission. Good shizzle.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Interpol- Antics Weezer- Weezer (The Blue Album)
