Okay, so WWE decides to rehash an old WCW angle and its been hated on here. I wanted to get your opinions and compare the same feud from back then to today's. What good and bad do you think we can expect out of Sunday night's match? And how successful can it be compared to how it was in the past?

Well, its not entirely rehashed.

Eddy's the face this time around.

When Eddy begins to ride a hobby horse and shave his own head, you can complain. Until then, begone with ye!

Who has been complaining about it?

I don't see anything wrong with the angle. They are playing it up perfectly, especially since the way Angle got involved. I am enjoying the feud, and I haven't said that in a long time.

No, I don't like that Angle is involved for no reason.

I read that you think Angle/Eddie would be comedy-based... that's why I made the assumption.

Personally, I think Angle is probably just jealous Eddie is getting over and that no one cares about Angle... that could just be me though.

How about that Angle knows Eddy can win the rumble, and made sure that if he wrestles Chavo that he's out of it? He's just getting rid of competition at the Rumble.

Nope.

Then he'd be going after all the competition.

AS is all over this one and he's right.

Angle has no real reason to want to get involved with Eddy right now. That is why the angle seems stupid. It's out of left field as to why Angle would even give two shits about Eddy. Saying he knows Eddy could win the Rumble is pretty weak because as Anglesault said, Kurt should then come after everyone.

If you've kept up on the No Way Out rumors pertaining to Brock/Eddie, the reason Angle has for getting involved with Eddie is that he's an admitted liar, cheater and theif, but the people love him, leading into Angle going into holier than thou preaching heel mode about how he didn't have to cheat to win a gold medal, etc.

They'll probably tie that in to Angle keeping Eddie out of the Rumble and in a match with Chavo because Angle wouldn't want such a "bad role model" earning a World Title shot.

Angle didn't seem to care in October when we were facing the same situation

I was just wondering this too. It seems basically the same to me. The only difference is Pepé isn't involved this time, and Chavo Guerrero Jr. won't tap out to a wrist lock against Stevie Ray before his match with Eddie.

Well, heel & face alignment is switched too, however that's interchangable anyway....

While I think that scenario that Zack laid out isn't bad, my problem is they havent hinted at Brock/Eddy in the slightest. Right now it's just a net rumor. If the foundation for Brock/Eddy had been set already, then I could see Angle's reasoning. But Angle just kind of stuck his nose in Eddy's business and Brock/Eddy hasn't even had a build up yet. There is also no hint that Angle is upset about Eddy being a lie, cheat, or stealing person. That could come out later, but I still don't believe in the reasoning for Angle to want to get involved with Eddy at all.

I'm still confused about this being a rehash of the WCW feud personally since other than the same two people being in the feud, they're nothing alike.

Anyway, all the hate on the feud comes from...

1) Chavito not being on the level of Eddie and bringing him down

2) See same except putting Angle in place of Eddie

3) Why is Angle in this this thing again anyway? ('Family values? Que?')

4) It taking so very, very long to build and pay off with Chavo going heel

I will say one thing about this feud. The length of the build up to the turn and Angle's pointless involvement soured me on it, but Chavo Sr. has almost single handedly made me care about the Eddy/Chavo angle again.

It's not a rehash of the 1998 feud. It is just a given fact that siblings must fued with each other every couple of years as long as they are in the same promotion. Undertaker and Kane, Bret and Owen, Rick and Scott, Matt and Jeff, Edge and Christian, Billy and Bart, etc. Eddy and Chavo are no different. The only brothers that I can think of that have never fueded are Bubba and D-Von and HOG and PIG.

This feud has been the best thing on Smackdown in like a year. Awesome rudo stuff from the Chavos, Angle playing his sneaky role to perfection, and the wrestling is fine. After Eddy's heat was killed by the Big Show feud, it has been rekindled by this one. The match sunday should be sweet.

Didn't Bubba and D-Von feud in ECW?

And right after the brand split, D-Von Tableized Bubba.

Angle playing his sneaky role to perfection,

What is his role? What's his character motivation?

D-Von and Bubba never fueded, but D-Von and Deacon Batista did put him through a table at a PPV last year while they were on different brands. So the seeds were set, but when Rev. D-Von didn't take off, they tossed him back on RAW and reunited them with no explanation.

Nice timing, AS.

And yes, they feuded in ECW when D-Von was brought in as the "black sheep" of the Dudley clan. But they never feuded after they began teaming.

We don't know what it is yet. Maybe it was to make sure Eddy stayed out of the Rumble by facing Chavo early in the card :) Maybe it's all out of jealousy over how popular a lying cheater has gotten. Give it time :)
