I would be Independent because I don't agree with some of the "Democratic" or "Republican" core view points. What I believe doesn't put me in either camp.

People that are "Independent" are usually just pussies afraid to put something real down for fear of being scorned by friends.

Whoa, Ann Coulter finally is here, AND she stole KKK's account.

I enjoy my Independent registered friends. We can usually discuss subjects on their merits instead of everyone taking up their fed positions and sniping away.

I love the Ann Coulter take on Independents, btw:

"Swing voters are more appropriately known as the idiot voters, because they have no set of philosophical principles. By the age of 14, you're either a conservative or a liberal, if you have an IQ above a toaster."

That's right. You heard it from Ann. Us liberals, we have IQs higher than toasters. Sorry, conservatives.

N*gga please.

I think the only reason someone registers as an "Independent" is because that want MSNBC or CNN to invite them into those stupid focus groups that rate a president's speech or debate.

Like I said before I'm a registered Republican. Does this mean I have to agree with everything the Party does? No.

And like I have said on previous threads, some of the most partisan people I have ever met were so-called "Independents." Anyone that calls themself this is simply in denial...

I'm registered as a Dem.

I think that before you register as an independent you should realize that you won't be able to vote in primaries if you do. I'd recommend chosing the side that you agree with more, and then using primaries to hopefully help get your ideal candidate in a position where you can vote for them in the general elections.

I agree with KKK (and Ann); "independents" are silly twits.

Do I really need to state my party affiliation?

Not everyone wants to be part of the Big Two.

And they shouldn't have to be.

And they shouldn't have to be.

I've seen the light! I mean OMG why does everyone have to generalise his or her opinions to fit in with broad stereotypes and commit himself (or herself - or itself, or hirself, or shiself for people who aren't sure, but they're still people too!) to one party or another? Because God (or Krishna, or Satan, or Allah, or Buddha, or Mother Gaia, or nothing at all or anything you like) knows if you tick off "Republican" you have to start attending biweekly planning meetings to turn the republic into a theocracy, and if you tick off "Democrat" you have to start skewering unborn babies through the head with knitting needles and you might not want to! OMG I've just had a fucking revelation! OMG this is so profound you guys. People shouldn't be forced into categories they don't want to be in! They should be allowed to remain outside the Big Two and vote for whoever they feel like because politicians exist in a vacuum and never advance their party's policies when they're in office! Wow! Here, take a drag off this, dude. LA LA LA LA LA I'M BLINDED BY THE LIGHT OF TRUTH

State laws vary, but usually you just check the OTHER box and write in "Libertarian" or whatever.

I'm "Decline to State". Independent can mean the actual party. Also, DTS voters can vote in primaries if the party allows it.

I'm going to have to disagree with the Big Two fans on this. Neither party represents my views, why allign myself with one?

You know in Russia they had to have a few runoff elections b/c they actually have a "None of the above" box on their ballots and in those cases enough people checked it so that nobody had a majority in the election. That's one idea we could borrow from our Russian comrades if you ask me...

Democrat, but very independent/conservative minded. I agree registering Independent is just stupid because you take yourself out of part of the process by not being able to vote in the primaries. You can still vote for whoever you want otherwise....

Parents are Dems

Grandparents were Reps

I'm Indy

Why am I?

Cause I don't agree with any party out there and none of them have it right. I have friends who are Reps, I have friends who are dems and frankly if they get offended cause I'm part of a certain party then why the hell would I want them as friends.

It's all bs anyway since both sides are freakin insane....but the independent parties are even MORE insane. God.

Republican in California. Though I'm becoming disenchanted with the Repblican party aka the "We'll take you to socialism just a little bit slower than the Democrats" Party.
