OldSchoolWrestling Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Sources have told 1Wrestling.com the Smackdown creative team has discussed a storyline for Kidman and Paul London that appears to have started with their match last night against the Basham Brothers. The plan that has been discussed is to continue to team Kidman and London for several weeks while building to a possible breakup between the two that would be related to both men using the "Shooting Star Press" as their signature move.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I'd rather they get built up as a credible face team, since SD is bereft of them, rather than build them up for a couple weeks only to immediately feud them.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 You mean like how Kidman was going to turn heel on Mysterio in the summer?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Who ARE face tag teams on Smackdown? Scotty 2 Hotty & Rikishi I know. Ultimo Dragon & Funaki team a lot on Velocity, but won't get pushed. I smell a Mysterio & Guerrero mini reign coming if Guerrero doesn't win title. And thats all she wrote.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Face teams on SD: 1) APA 2) Rikishi/Scotty
notJames Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I say keep them a team and have their finisher be stereo SSPs on both opponents. Ideally, since London's is better, Kidman should BK-Bomb their opponent as a set-up to London Calling.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Face teams on SD: 1) APA 2) Rikishi/Scotty I thought Ron Simmons retired....again. I've only seen Bradshaw on SD for the last few weeks.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted January 30, 2004 Author Report Posted January 30, 2004 The last time I remember seeing him was the Xmas in Baghdad.
Guest Goodear Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I would turn Haas and Benjamin face post haste myself. I really think they have the personality to pull that sort of thing off based on that four way they had a few weeks ago with Gurrerros, II Cool II, and The Bashams as well as the stuff they were doing in the battle royal on Smackdown.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 Shit,London has an angle?Well at least he is doing better than RVD.
Guest OnlyMe Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 London on SmackDown! = me making more effort to watch SmackDown!
SamoaRowe Posted January 30, 2004 Report Posted January 30, 2004 I like this idea, too bad it will probably be dropped
Guest Super Mask Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 The plan that has been discussed is to continue to team Kidman and London for several weeks while building to a possible breakup between the two that would be related to both men using the "Shooting Star Press" as their signature move. London's SSP >>>>>>> Kidman's A tag team with stereo SSPs as the finisher would be pretty cool though.
Scroby Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I just hope they don't have a "my shooting star is better than yours contest" and someone get hurt, and is it me or does Kiddman look like he's getting outta shape?
Cuban Linx Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Paul London on TV at all is a good start, while Kidman isn't the greatest a feud/teaming of London & Kidman should be better than most of the crap the WWE puts out.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Its a good idea IMO. Once the fans see London's SSP, they will immediately turn on Kidman's and the fans will lose all interest in him since thats the only reason his even slightly over with the fans.
Tawren Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I don't understand all the Kidman hate. I like his SSP.
Guest Black Tiger Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I don't understand the Kidman hate either (I'll bet DEAN has something to do with it) but Kidman's SSP doesn't even compare to London's.
Tawren Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I don't understand the Kidman hate either (I'll bet DEAN has something to do with it) but Kidman's SSP doesn't even compare to London's. I kind of like how Kidman does it. It seems "tighter"...I don't really know how to phrase it. London, of course, has a great SSP, better than Kidmans in height and speed and distance; but that doesn't mean Kidmans sucks.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 Kidman has one problem. He's too vanilla. He rarely talks and when he does, let's just say Jeff Hardy sounds like a Harvard Graduate. Other than that I don't find anything wrong with him as he's not in any way offensive in the ring-uh.
Vyce Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I'm completely baffled by the Kidman hate. He's a decent to good worker. Is he bland? Sure, but you could say that about at least a quarter of the entire roster.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 31, 2004 Report Posted January 31, 2004 I'm just surprised WWE hasn't done something yet like have Paul London say he was British and be snobby. ...I may have jinxed that, but hey, it COULD mean the return of William Regal.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 It's just a thing to try to make Spanky regret his release, and to motivate other misused guys not to leave. To make them think they have a chance too.
Guest KidKrash Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Think any of the fans will actually give a fuck? I mean one of the guys the majority probably hardly knows and they know London even less.
Michrome Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Well, they might give a fuck if they get these guys over as a fun tag team before rushing this feud.
Guest KidKrash Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Well, they might give a fuck if they get these guys over as a fun tag team before rushing this feud. Well of course. You do that by jobbing them to the Bashams. Simple booking.
tommytomlin Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Aren't Stereo SSP's a little... impossible? (Not to mention dangerous) Like, how do they both fit on the top rope? And where do they land? You can't do a SSP and land on someone's head or legs, it needs to be the stomach to cushion the impact.
ChrisMWaters Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 Like, how do they both fit on the top rope? Simple: They go to opposite corners...like Edge and Rey Myterio did at the 2003 Royal Rumble match to both Missile Dropkick Christopher Nowinski

Guest Choken One Posted February 1, 2004 Report Posted February 1, 2004 If there at opposite corners...Kidman can't shoot very far...and I don't know if London can go that far either... Wouldn't it just be easier if Kidman hit a Powerbomb into a SSP?
