Although it was originally thought that Chris Benoit would be facing Triple H in a singles match at WrestleMania, it's not being reported that it was be changed to a three-way, with Shawn Michaels being added to the bout.

The Rock was spotted at last night's Super Bowl. According to an article in USA Today, Rock was seen talking to many NFL greats, including Deion Sanders and Shannon Sharpe.

Management was said to be impressed with the work of Mike "Nova" Bucci at the weekend house shows.

Mark Henry injured his shoulder during his match with Chris Benoit in Youngstown, OH. He was telling people backstage that he'd be fine for RAW tonight.

WWE will be releasing the "John Cena: Word Life" DVD on 3/2 in the U.S. and May 2004 in the U.K. The DVD will feature a look at Cena's career in WWE thus far and will include bouts against Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, and The Undertaker. There will also be some extras on the DVD as well, including Cena's "Before They Were Superstars" segment, a behind the scenes look at his YJ Stinger commercial, Cena and Eddie Guerrero in Singapore, Cena's trip to Iraq, his cover shoot for Smackdown Magazine, and more.

Speaking of upcoming DVD releases, "The Stone Cold Truth" special that aired on UPN will be released on DVD on 2/10 in the U.S. and April 2004 in the U.K. The DVD will also include some extras, including The Hollywood Blondes (Austin & Brian Pillman) vs. Ric Flair and Arn Anderson in a 2/3 Falls Match from WCW Clash of the Champions XXIII, Austin vs. Mikey Whipwreck for the ECW Title from November To Remember '95, Austin vs. Bobby Eaton, Hollywood Blondes on "A Flair For The Gold", Austin's ECW promos, his WWF debut as "The Ringmaster", plus additional footage of interviews from the "Stone Cold Truth" program, and more.

Thanks to Mark Pickering for the following article he wrote on John Walters:

Rising ROH star John Walters is scheduled to work another 3 WWE shows over the next few months (Mar. 09 - Atlantic City, NJ - WWE Smackdown!, Mar. 15 - East Rutherford, NJ - WWE RAW and Mar. 16 - Boston, MA - WWE Smackdown!). Walters was scheduled to work RAW and SD this week but WWE choose to use talent from their own roster to work Velocity, Heat and even dark matches. In 2003 Walters appeared twice on WWE Smackdown - competing against Team Angle and against The Big Show in a handicap match. He also had numerous outings on Velocity including a match against Spanky & Paul London where he teamed with fellow ROH star American Dragon.

Worth noting is the fact that John is not scheduled to work any independent shows from 21st-26th of March, which incidentally is the same time OVW will be running it's second annual tryout camp. Only a handful of workers are invited to work the tryout camp (last year Christopher Daniels). John is a talent to keep a close eye on in 2004.

Bill Apter of Total Wrestling Magazine (totalwrestling.co.uk) has updated his news section with an interesting bit about the possibility of Hulk Hogan returning for WrestleMania XX.

Here is the newsit in question:

Is Hulk Hogan going to be at WrestleMania XX? As most of you know, I am very close with Hogan and he's usually very open about everything with me. However, on the subject of him appearing at WrestleMania XX he is being very guarded with his choice of words.

"I am not saying it will or will not happen," he told me in a telephone conversation early this morning. "All I will say is that if I am not at WrestleMania XX this is a perfect example of what is wrong with the very heart of the wrestling business."

Reading into this my assumption is that due to political and personal issues with WWE top brass Hogan is not being hotly pursued for Wrestle Mania XX. What a major error that is. Whatever it takes the WWE should make this happen! How can there not be a Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania XX? One great team built the WWE, the "brains" being WWE owner Vince McMahon and the "brawn" Hulk Hogan. We would not be celebrating the landmark 20th anniversary of the "granddaddy of 'em all" on 14 March if both of these legends had not done their now infamous groundwork. This is not to take away from all the great superstars appearing at WrestleMania XX, but without Hulk Hogan a large part of the luster and excitement will most certainly be diminished

No that's a perfect example of everything that's right about pro wrestling. Keep Hogan off Mania and I'd be happier.

Yeah, it would make sense to have him and all the other greats, but we've already done the Hogan nostalgia thing a couple of times. To do it again would be redundant.

Hey, that sounds pretty cool.

Looks like the WWE is REALLY taking advantage of their tape library and putting out some decent-excellent DVDs with the WCW/ECW footage.

Cena doesn't need a DVD right now. I like the guy's work, but he's only been in a major promotion for just over a year. And I can count all of Cena's good to great matches with one hand. Why not a Kurt Angle DVD or, dare I say it, an Undertaker DVD.

Not sure about the Cena DVD as he really hasn't had that many great matches.

However, despite the Stone Cold Truth special being rather average, the extras may make that DVD worthwhile. Good to see WWE using the resources they have sitting around Titan Tower.

I knew the WMXX main event would be changed to a triple threat. I smelled a 3 way when I saw the Benoit promo.

That Rock news shouldn't be surprising, since he did coach a team in that MTV Rock and Jock Football thingy....

Man who the f*** does Hogan think he is? Damnit, keep this guy off of Wrestlemania, he has no buisness there.....wait......nevermind I forgot he's one of the biggest superstars ever. Actually, on second thought, screw all those people that don't want him to be there. He made the WWF and without him it truly wouldn't be a legit celebration of the WWF.

Profile DVDs don't sell on the basis of having a myriad of ****+ matches - it sells on the popularity and fan following of the worker himself.

Forget the bad matches, what on that is worth watching?

Ask anyone who's a fan of Cena - one who follows Cena on a weekly basis.

Anyone who's followed him on a weekly basis will have seen everything that the DVD has anyway.

And this differentiates itself from the other profile DVD's in what fashion?

Save for Flair, HBK and Hogan, there's not a whole lot of nostalgic value with the current crop of WWE workers. The Home Video department makes up for a good portion of the WWE's profits - either you could purchase this DVD, or pass on it and wait for the next month's releases.

Those people have careers to draw from that last well over a little over a year.

So we shouldn't focus on new stars, and instead put our resources into producing a _________ DVD? (fill in the blank)

This has happened before - with Angle and Jericho in winter 2000/2001 and with Brock this past year.

And those DVDs blew as well.

If the WWE was so concerned about focusing on new stars...well...the product would look a lot different.

So the WWE can't do anything right in this regard?

Let's focus on making new stars (Cena, Orton, Batista) and we get a "they haven't been here long enough" argument.

Let's focus on making stars out of veterans/older workers (Angle, Eddy, Benoit, Rey) and we get the "DVD isn't 3 discs" argument.

Let's focus on the old guard helping push the new guys up (Flair, UT, HBK) and we get the "the new stars deserve the DVD" argument.

Thanks for playing, though. We'll finish up next month when everyone starts bitching again about Angle not getting his just due on his DVD retrospective.

I'm sorry but what a low and horrible statement to make. This is a man who puts his body on the line for people all around the world and you have the nerve to act happy when he gets hurt? Thats exactly whats wrong with the "smark" crowd. For you to show joy in another persons suffering just because he isn't a cruzierweight and he can't wrestle good is just flat out low. Did you think you were being cute or funny? In my mind your trash and guess what I dont even find Mark fun to watch.

"Let's focus on making new stars (Cena, Orton, Batista) and we get a "they haven't been here long enough" argument."

I don't care what they put out...I'm just saying it doesn't make for an interesting/usefull DVD...nor does it make sense to chronicle what in WWE terms is someones rookie year.

"Let's focus on making stars out of veterans/older workers (Angle, Eddy, Benoit, Rey) and we get the "DVD isn't 3 discs" argument."

What exactly is the matter with that argument? They have a gazillion hours of footage of all of them.

"Let's focus on the old guard helping push the new guys up (Flair, UT, HBK) and we get the "the new stars deserve the DVD" argument"

I've never heard that argument. I don't recall one person saying "Yeah...but where's my John Cena DVD" when they were discussing the Flair collection.

When the Flair DVD came out and sold like gangbusters the idea of WWE DVD releases got a shot in the arm that excited the buyer and raised the level of expectations. A one disc Cena DVD full of **1/2 matches and his epic feud with the FBI doesn't quite do the job.

I hate to sound optimistic in times like these, but since I happen to be a Cena mark, I think this DVD might be pretty good. I have his matches with Benoit, Undertaker, Angle, and Eddie Guerrero, and they are all entertaining matches (especially vs. Benoit, vs. Undertaker). I think it's kind of wrong to say those matches are horrible, but that's just my opinion.

Okay, back to negativity......HOGAN SUCKS~! KEEP HIM AWAY FROM WM XX~! FUCK NOSTALGIA~!

Yeah Hulk, that whole focusing on new talent thing is exactly what's wrong with wrestling today. I guess if a 47 year-old man way beyond his prime isn't holding a world title, then that company is shit. Fuck Hogan to hell.
