Guest J0bber Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I have viewed all of these, but my favorite is the 2001 edition because of the superb 2/3 falls match between HHH and Steve Austin. It also had a spectacular fatal fourway match for the Intercontinental title involving Chris Jericho, X-Pac, Eddie Guerrero, and Chris Benoit. Note: 1999 is not on the list since the February ppv that year wasn't titled No Way Out, instead it was entitled "St. Valentine's Day Massacre: In Your House", being that the show was held on Valentine's Day. This show probably wouldn't grasp that many votes anway since it sucked because of the draw finish between The Rock and Mankind in the last man standing match that was very similar to the finish in the last man standing match between HHH and Shawn Michaels at this year's Royal Rumble. This card also had a Mideon vs. Bossman match, which was a part of the Corporation/Ministry feud, and any card with that match just has to SUCK.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I think HHH/Austin was a great match and a great payoff to a long feud. I thought Angle/Rock was good, but the finish sucked. I also liked the Cat Fight. Lawler/Richards sucked though.
Sonic Reducer Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 2001 all the way. Probably one of the most solid cards the WWE's ever done.
Aero Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 2001 all the way. Austin vs. HHH, Rock vs. Angle, and the 4-Way match are ****+ matches, IMO. I just watched Austin vs. HHH the other day and it still holds up for me. Plus, you can't go wrong when you get to see a beer can thrown at Austin's head (complete with what looks like security escorting the idiot out) , followed by footage of HHH blading directly on camera.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 I like 2000, but 2001 is one of the best WWF PPVs ever.
Guest J0bber Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 For some strange reason, I mark out for No Way Out '98.
Si82 Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 It has to be 2001. It was just an awesome show from top to bottom. Raven vs. Big Show, Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. X-Pac, Steve Austin vs. Triple H and Kurt Angle vs. The Rock. How can you go wrong?
Guest Anglesault Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 2002 and 2003 are horrendous shows, so that narrows down the field. 2000 is pretty good, but I like 01.
Kahran Ramsus Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 2002 and 2003 are horrendous shows, so that narrows down the field. 1998 is pretty bad too, so that leaves it a two horse race. 2000 is a good show, but 2001 is fantastic. Even the Big Show/Raven & Table matches were fun. The only thing I felt was a waste of time was the Lawler match.
Guest hhheld_down Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 its too bad they wont ever put 2000 and 2001 out on dvd, those were just awesome shows, with 2001 bein my favorite too.. trish/steph was suprisingly really good, austin/hhh owned, rock/angle was great. truly an entertaining card up and down. I have it on tape somewhere.
Lil' Bitch Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Of course, 2001 was in my hometown.... Althougb I'll always kick myself in the ass for not going. its too bad they wont ever put 2000 and 2001 out on dvd Yeah, that's true, but you can find still Austin / HHH and Angle / Rock in their entireties (including the build-ups) on WHAT? and Just Bring It.
snuffbox Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 i wouldve voted for 99 had it been a 'best feb ppv' thread...but i chose 01
eiker_ir Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 2001 was awesome, people seem to always remember Wrestlemania X7 and they forget about the Rumble and NWO 2001 wich both were amazing shows on their own
Austin3164life Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 2001 easily. It had the good four-way, the surprising Women's Title match, Austin/HHH (while slightly overrated is still very good), and the excellent Rock/Angle match.
AndrewTS Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 2001--like there's any comparison?!
SamoaRowe Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I was still sort of a mark by the time 2001 No Way Out rolled around, but I remember the entire show clicking and not being bored by any of it.
Tawren Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 2001 or 2000...probably 2000, better overall card.
