CONAN is TORONTO

Recommended Posts

TORONTO -- Actor Jim Carrey yesterday was officially added to next week's guest list when Late Night With Conan O'Brien shoots here.

Carrey will appear a week from tonight on the late-night U.S. talk show.

Other guests include Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Michael J. Fox and TV star Eric McCormack.

"With this star-studded line-up, Toronto is going to be the comedy hot-spot of the world next week," said Peter Soumalias, Conan-in-Toronto organizer and founder of Canada's Walk of Fame. "All eyes will be on Toronto, which is why we made this happen."

Here is the list of scheduled guests for next week's four shows, which will tape in late afternoon at the Elgin Theatre on Yonge Street, then air later each night at 12:35 a.m. on both NBC and The New VR:

TUESDAY: Mike Myers, comedian Ron James

WEDNESDAY: Michael J. Fox, Moose caller Ken Capling, Nickelback

THURSDAY: Adam Sandler, Stompin' Tom Connors

FRIDAY: Jim Carrey, Eric McCormack, Barenaked Ladies

I'm pissed off that I didn't get tickets.

I wonder where the celebrities will enter. I was hoping to do some stalking this week since every night has a guest I really want to meet

Thats crazy, I bet the show's are going to be wicked. The crowd will be nuts and Conan and the guests should be on the 'A' game.

Conan has also shot skits with the Leafs and walked around Toronto in a mounties outfit.

I hate you.

A lot.

I've been getting a lot of that this week :D

I second the hate

Well, I'm from Montreal and, if I had won tickets, my friend and I were gonna make the trip like 7-8 hours...since it's the same amount of time to get to New York, I'll see a Conan show yet!

Montreal is a little closer. It takes about 5 hours to get to Toronto, whereas the distance from Toronto to NY is about 9 hours

I've never been able to do Montreal to Toronto in 5 hours and that's in the summertime! Forget about it in this shitty weather now. From here to either place has been pretty much the same for me...maybe I'm a slow driver.

From where I live it takes usually 2 hours to get to Montreal and 3 1/2 to 4 hours to get to Toronto going the other way.

So, yeah, speed up a little, granny. :)

I don't know if this bothers anyone else but do some people here hate it when some Americans on television say "Toronto, Canada" instead of "Toronto, Ontario, Canada"?

Hey, you should just be glad that Lillian Garcia gets the names of PEOPLE right most of the time...

Brockville, actually. It's about an hour or so southwest of Ottawa and right on the 401.

How close is that to Morrisburg?

The Toronto Star has an article focusing on Ed the Sock and Triumph. Related, and mildly interesting...
