JHawk 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 The title says it all: What angles/happenings were so bad that even the broadcast team didn't try to sell it at all? I can think of one off the top of my head: Al Wilson. Watched the 11/7/02 SmackDown today for the first time since it aired, and Al Wilson is proposing to Dawn Marie. And the segment is so bad that Michael Cole and Tazz sound like CWM and Anglesault on commentary (sorry, guys). Tazz starts off by saying "This could be really good or really bad, but it will be memorable," and that's probably the closest thing to a serious comment they made the entire segment. The two best lines: Al: "If you don't, I'll kill myself, I swear to God." Tazz: "Say no Dawn, say no!" And; Cole: "I thought it couldn't get any worse than Billy and Chuck." Can anybody else think of anything?

Silence 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 During a John Heidenreich Raw match, he sucked so much that JR didn't even put him over as one of his hosses like he usually does with big, untalented wrestlers.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 JR's commentary during the Too Much vs. Al Snow match at King of the Ring '98. He pretty much apologized for the whole segment after it was over. I remember when the King came back to the booth, JR said something like, JR: In my career, I hope we never again see a match like that. King: (Seemingly knowing where JR's going with this) Well, now you won't have to because Al Snow is outta here!
Jingus 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 For my little homegrown indy show I do commentary for, God knows that I've had my share of complete shit to call at some time or another. Last week: trying to find an explanation of why a guy bumped for a kick that missed him by a good two feet ("And he just got scared and fell away from that superkick!"). It's often damn hard to call this stuff straight and not just go hog-wild shooting on the mike.
evilhomer 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 I remember on Nitro once, Larry Zbysko went on some insane tangent, I can't even recall what it was about. Schiavonne and Tenay, looked at each other with a "what the hell" look on their face, then Schiavonne looked at the camera giving a "don't ask me" shrug. When Zbysko finished, they just totally dropped it moving right on to the next segment. Schiavonne's look was what I found really funny because it was like one of those parts in a movie where they look to the camera and talk directly to the audience. I also distinctly remember JR saying "That match just set our business back about 20 years" after that one. Classic. I was thinking about Hogan's match during Survivor Series 89, where Hogan gets every elimination for his team (three of the four by DQ) and plays face-in-peril for about 20 out of 30 minutes, and Ventura is more or less calling bullshit on the booking (as kayfabe as possible, of course, but he seemed genuinely pissed). Guest Stunt Granny Report post Posted February 10, 2004 Or how about when Monsoon talks about how Hogan's couragously been in the Royal Rumble for 30 minutes and Ventura says "He's only been in there for 5 minutes you idiot!!". Jesse truely did tell it like it is. I wish we could have an announcer now to be like that. EDIT: That totally remind of Bobby Heenan comments during the Hogan Sid Match at Wrestlemania 8. Sid has Hogan in a chinlock or something and the ref goes to drop Hogan's arm for the 3rd time but Hogan hold his arm up. Monsoon: The Hulkster still continues to fight!!!!! Heenan: (oozing with sarcasm) Oh yes, the Immortal Hulk Hogan would NEVER give up.
