Do you care who wins the Presidential Election?

I'm just putting this question out there. I assume that most people who frequent this folder will click "yes" but I'm curious to see if any of you would say no.

 

The reason I ask is that in talking with several people about the election (and politics in general) I've found that a significant number of people just simply don't give a rat's ass about politics. The most frequent argument is that "my life will be pretty much the same no matter who is in charge". Sounds ignorant at first, but I will admit that these people have a point.

I think you mean November. As for the Bush administration "waging terror on the world", I don't see that happening, although I do agree that another 4 years of Bush would be bad for the economy.

From a Canadian perspective, our relationship with the US would probably improve with Kerry in there. I realize most of it was our fault (thanks Jean), but where we go from here is what is important. I can't remember when things were ever this bad between Canada & the US (at least since the 19th Century). On the bright side, the freefalling American dollar has sure improved our crappy Canadian dollar.

 

That said, I absolutely do care, no matter who wins. I also care about our elections, municipal, provincial or federal. And I have little respect for those who don't care. We are fortunate enough to have participatory governments. It seems that some people would rather go back to the days when we were ruled by tyrants.

Yeah, Clinton and Chretien are friends but Jean wasn't a big fan of Bush. I think Martin's trying to change that but I doubt Bush really cares.

Personally, I don't really care about the Presidental Elections of the US. Now, don't get me wrong, I DO mind who is president, but I don't really want Kerry or Bush as my next door neighbouring leader.

I'm Australian and I care. The U.S President has the power to shape the course of every country on the planet, so even non-U.S citizens should take an interest. As for who I think should win, John Kerry. Mainly because the guy who I think will be the next Australian Prime Minister, Mark Latham, doesn't exactly agree with George Bush (he called him an 'arse-licker'). Latham and Kerry seem to share the same political views on most things, and I'd also like to see Kerry win if only to put an end to those god damn 'Here is an interesting thing my local conservative journal said about John Kerry because he protested a war.' threads.
