WWF Raw

October 2nd, 2006

The show begins, but in the place of pyro is the theme song to Evolution! World Champion Chris Benoit, Adam Hastey, and Austin Lee make their way to the ring. All three of them are grinning, even Hastey and Lee, who had lost their tag titles at Unforgiven. Mike Tenay and The Coach welcome us to Raw and apologize for not being on the air the previous week.

Evolution continues.

Benoit: You know, ever since Unforgiven, I have had many people come up to me with just one question. They say “Chris Benoit, why did you turn on Triple H at Unforgiven! Why!” I think the answer is simple. Triple H was a great wrestler, he is a legend in our business, and he was a skillful leader of Evolution, who kept this group going for over three years! Despite all of this, Triple H was untrustworthy. I am the World’s Heavyweight Champion, why should I be taking orders from someone else? Likewise, it was only a matter of time before he decided that I’d reigned long enough and that I should allow him to take this title away from me. Triple H was known as the “cerebral assassin” and I would be stupid to overlook that.

Hastey: Damn right! Now that we don’t have Triple H here to overshadow us anymore, we can continue! Evolution passed by Triple H and now we are in prime condition to dominate Raw for years to come!

The music of HBK plays, the trio becomes disgusted as Shawn Michaels appears on stage, with a microphone.

HBK: Yeah, you guys think you are so smart! Triple H has now been forced to leave the WWF because of your betrayal. The funniest part about all of this is that you three interfered in a match that I made to try and end outside interference as a whole on Raw. Randy Orton and Triple H were being made an example of, one of them was going to leave, yet you ignored that and interfered anyway. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is intolerable. In all fairness, I should fire all three of you… but I won’t. I’m going to book all three of you in singles matches tonight. Two out of the three of you must win your match. If not, Evolution will be forced to break up and the three of you will be forbidden to work as a trio ever again.

Benoit: Hah, that would scare us but unfortunately for you, Michaels, Evolution has a way of winning matches.

HBK: Oh yeah, I imagine. If any of you interfere in each other’s match, all three of you will be fired on the spot and you, Chris Benoit, will be stripped of the World Heavyweight Champion personally by me! Hastey, your match is first. Allow me to present you with your opponent. He is one half of the NEW World Tag Team Champions, J.R. Ryder!

Tenay: What a huge announcement by Michaels!

Coach: This isn’t fair!

Tenay: It is fair, dammit! Evolution is getting just what they deserve! Stay tuned, folks, Hastey vs Ryder is after the break!

Adam Hastey vs J.R. Ryder

Tenay: Also, during the break, Shawn Michaels announced that Austin Lee’s match will be against Brian Kendrick and Chris Benoit will be defending his title against Randy Orton in tonight’s main event!

Match Background: Ryder, along with tag partner Brian Kendrick, beat Hastey (and Austin Lee) for the tag titles in a cage match at Unforgiven. Hastey must win this match to try and keep Evolution together.

The Match: Flying elbow from Adam Hastey connects. VICIOUS lightning kick by Hastey on Ryder. Covers for a quick two count. Ryder reverses a waistlock. Spinning back kick from J.R. Ryder. THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. There's a two count on the pin. Back heel kick off the second rope, Hastey goes down. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! J.R. Ryder hits a rolling kick on Hastey. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Hastey counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Superkick by Adam Hastey practically knocks out all of J.R. Ryder's teeth! There's a two count on the pin. DDT from the top rope by Adam Hastey. That looked KILLER! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Hastey hits a dropkick on J.R. Ryder and gets right back up. Adam Hastey kicks the leg, knocks Ryder down, and goes to work on it. J.R. Ryder powers out of a Adam Hastey headlock. Hastey takes a flying neckbreaker from J.R. Ryder. Springboard dropkick from J.R. Ryder. Nicely done. Adam Hastey can barely stand. Ryder Bomb! 1....2....3. Chris Benoit comes running down the aisle with a chair and into the ring! Ryder turns...and is dropped by a vicious chair shot! Chris Benoit has left Ryder down and bloodied.

My Opinion: All it gets is a ***1\2 rating from me. Deal with it.

Tenay: Benoit just busted J.R. Ryder wide open!

Coach: Shawn Michaels said he would fire Evolution for interfering in the match, he didn’t say anything about post-match attacks!

Tenay: That doesn’t matter, Chris Benoit just acted out of sheer desperation. If Austin Lee doesn’t win his match, Evolution is no more!

Winner at 7:19: J.R. Ryder

One Big Happy Family

In the locker-room, Lodi and Rico are discussing their match strategy, when Ozzy Benton comes in.

Ozzy: Okay, guys. You have a big match tonight and I think you’ll do well if you…

Rico: Ozzy, honey, relax! Lodi and I have everything under control.

Ozzy: Oh… you discussed your match strategy without me… again.

Lodi: Don’t take it personally, Ozz-man. It’s just what Rico and I do.

Ozzy: So, what exactly is my role as your manager if you two do everything without me?

Rico: Well, we do have something you could join in on…

Ozzy: NO! I meant in regards to wrestling!

Rico: Oh that, well Ozzy-baby, don’t worry about it! You’re just is to stand there and look pretty so that Lodi and I look good!

Ozzy: Argh! I’m not supposed to be pretty! I’m supposed to be menacing! This is stupid!

Lodi: Okay, Ozzy. How about this. Rico and I win tonight, we keep things our way. If we lose, then you get to plan all of our strategies for now on.

Ozzy: Deal! Good luck, gentlemen.

The New Rainbow Express (with Ozzy Benton) vs Frank Shamrock and Bubba Ray Dudley

Match Background: Rico and Lodi have their creative control on the line. Frank Shamrock just recently lost the Hardcore Championship and is teaming with Bubba Ray Dudley to see how things go as a team.

The Match: Rico hits a back kick, doubling Bubbaover. Rico suplexes Bubba to the canvas and floats over. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Lodi. Rico scoops up Bubba. Lodi bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. Covers for a quick two count. Bubba takes a hard, stinging chop from Lodi. One word: Ow. Bubba Ray Dudley avoids a Lodi avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Bubba Ray Dudley hits a bulldog off the ropes. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Frank Shamrock. Gutwrench into a stomach breaker. Lodi may be winded. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Lodi tastes a high angle back suplex. If Spike Lee can sue TNN over the Spike TV nonsense, then Kurt Angle should be able to sue SOMEONE for that. Lodi powers out of a Frank Shamrock headlock. Lodi arm drags Frank over and locks on an armbar. Tag to Rico. Rico hits a right hand on Frank Shamrock and follows it up with a couple more. Tag between Frank Shamrock and Bubba Ray Dudley. Running clothesline from Rico was actually MIGHTY sloppy. Bubba Ray Dudley grabs Rico from behind and shoves him into the ropes, then scores with a roll-up...but Rico rolls through with the move! He used a pull of the tights to get Bubba over! 1....2...3! The referee was out of position and didn't see it! The New Rainbow Express remain in the ring, celebrating their victory.

My Opinion: Slightly above average match. Only gets a **3\4 rating from me.

Tenay: Rico cheated to win the match!

Coach: Seems like Rico and Lodi have no problems with their strategy.

Rico and Lodi give Ozzy Benton toothy smiles and gleefully dance up the ramp, with Benton trailing behind in a slump.

Winners at 4:01: Rico and Lodi, the New Rainbow Express

The Pressure Heats Up

Meanwhile, in the Evolution locker-room, Hastey and Lee are sitting down while Benoit is pacing.

Benoit: Triple H lead this group for over three years without any problems, now one week without him and we are one pinfall away from being history. (Gets into Lee’s face). You need to beat Brian Kendrick. If you lose the match, you will have ended the legacy of this group. Our fate will be on your conscious. Watch your step out there.

Lee: Are you kidding me, Benoit? What makes you think I will let myself lose this match! I owe Brian Kendrick big time for taking my tag title away from me! He left my blood in that steel cage at Unforgiven and I want revenge!

Benoit: That’s the spirit! Go out there and make Evolution proud!

Tenay: Austin Lee vs Brian Kendrick is next!

Austin Lee vs Brian Kendrick

Match Background: If Lee loses this match, Evolution is done with.

The Match: Spinning back kick from Austin Lee. Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and Kendrick goes down. Lee just WAFFLES Kendrick with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Covers for a quick two count. Hard back suplex on Kendrick. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. There's a two count on the pin. Lee goes for a splash but Kendrick puts the knees up. Kendrick just WAFFLES Lee with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Hooks the leg for a two count. Flying cross body off the top rope! Austin Lee pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Diamond Dust from Austin Lee, Kendrick is out! Brian Kendrick is in trouble. Degenerate Driver!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Brian Kendrick leaves and walks back down the aisle. Wait...Austin Lee comes running as well, and Kendrick gets dropped with a clothesline, followed by a load of stomps. He is left lying in the aisle.

My Opinion: A **** rating is well deserved for the competitors in this match.

Tenay: The pressure got to Austin Lee! It wasn’t enough for him to just win the match, he had to brutalize Kendrick afterwards!

Coach: Whew, I was afraid for a minute there! Evolution gets to stay together.

Tenay: For now at least. Benoit must beat Orton in the main event to keep the group from being torn apart.

Winner at 13:56: Austin Lee

The Gathering

CM Punk is sitting in his locker-room, when Raven (sporting the Hardcore Championship) comes in.

Raven: Punk.

Punk: Raven.

Raven: So, tonight is it. You and Christian, one on one.

Punk: Yeah, maybe tonight we can get some closure.

Raven: Did Julio ever calm down after what Test did to Alexis?

Punk: Yeah, winning at Unforgiven satisfied him for now. Test isn’t here this week.

Raven: For the better, one less distraction for your match tonight.

Punk: Yeah.

Raven: I don’t think I’ve told you this yet, but I’m thinking about winding down on my wrestling career.

Punk: What? You’re the Hardcore champion?

Raven: Yes, I am. I will defend this title too, until I lose it. After that though, I don’t think I have much in me. It took way too much out of me to even beat Jeff Jarrett at Unforgiven. At another time I might have really been able to take it to him.

Punk: But you did beat him! You can’t be giving up on us, Raven!

Raven: I’m not giving up. I came to you tonight to ask you if I could become your manager.

Punk: You? My manager?!? That would be an incredible honor but… I don’t know if I’d be worthy.

Raven: Punk, you are more than worthy. You’ve been worthy for years now. You are a three time World Heavyweight Champion. You have main-evented WrestleMania. The real honor of being your manager belongs to me.

The two men shake hands.

Punk: Okay then. Now watch me destroy Christian, once and for all.

CM Punk (with Raven) vs Christian

Match Background: CM Punk more or less took over a feud with Christian from Raven back in July. This match is meant to be a finale to their war.

The Match: Punk scoops and slams Christian. What's the difference between a scoop slam and a body slam anyway? CM Punk connects with rights and lefts and Christian is down! Christian takes a headbutt from CM Punk. Covers for a quick two count. BAAACK Body drop by Christian gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. Covers for a quick two count. Christian pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Christian connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. There's a two count on the pin. Punk walks into a jaw breaker. Christian drops an elbow...but CM Punk moves out of the way. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Christian! CM Punk has Christian down on the canvas. Here it comes...Devil Lock! Christian taps! CM Punk remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

My Opinion: I'd love to see a rematch and see if they can top this. ****

Tenay: CM Punk did it, he beat Christian!

Coach: Those poor Beautiful People. Where’s Kid Romeo when you need him!

Winner at 15:01: CM Punk

Mattitude Problem

Matt Hardy and Matt Stryker appear arriving at the building (Tenay makes a crack about how late they are). The duo runs into Shawn Michaels.

Hardy: Hello, Mr. Michaels. Allow me to introduce myself…

HBK: I know who you are. You’re a big shot from Smackdown who thought that Raw should have thrown you a parade for arriving here.

Hardy: Well, that would have been nice.

HBK: No, it would have annoyed me. Besides, the show is almost over and you’re just arriving now?

Stryker: We had problems at the hotel.

HBK: Oh really? I don’t care. I’m fining both of you for being late.

Hardy: Damn it! I hate being on Raw! This sucks!

Suddenly Tommy Dreamer appears out of no where with a kendo stick and nails both men over the back with it.

Dreamer: This is just a reminder to you two assholes. Mess with Tommy Dreamer, and you will pay.

Coach: What a vicious sneak attack by Tommy Dreamer!

Tenay: I’d say he’s just putting those two jerks in their place, like he did at Unforgiven!

Coach: I don’t see why Evolution can’t interfere in matches, but Dreamer is allowed to sneak up like that!

World Heavyweight Championship: Chris Benoit © vs Randy Orton

Match Background: This match is for the World Heavyweight title. Chris Benoit has been World Heavyweight champion since 27 June 2006.

The Match: Orton takes a headbutt from Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. Flying shoulder tackle by Benoit sends Orton CRASHING to the mat. Orton gets caught with a short powerbomb from Benoit. Randy Orton avoids a Chris Benoit avalanche by getting out of the damn way! BIG clothesline on Benoit. Spear by Randy Orton. There's a two count on the pin. Chris Benoit once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Chris Benoit hits a stalling suplex on Orton. Covers for a quick two count. Northern Lights Bomb very nearly crushes the spine of Orton! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Orton powers out of a headlock. Orton slams Chris Benoit. Chris Benoit comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Bodyslam by Benoit. Chris Benoit has Randy Orton down on the canvas. Randy Orton gets locked in the Crippler Crossface! Submission victory!.

My Opinion: I'll give this a ***1\4 rating. If I left it up to you, you'd probably think it was the greatest match ever! Keep trying...

Coach: Benoit did it! He retained his title over Orton! Evolution can stay together!

Suddenly, some unfamiliar music begins to play. A new-comer comes running down the aisle and into the ring!

Tenay: Wait, I know who that is! That’s Bryan Danielson!

Coach: Who?!?

Tenay: He’s known across the world as the American Dragon!

Benoit turns around and is puzzled to see Danielson there. Danielson flattens Benoit with a clothesline and locks in the Cattle Mutilation!

Coach: I’ve never seen a submission hold like that in all my years on Raw!

Tenay: Benoit is screaming in pain!

Hastey and Lee come running down the aisle, but Danielson hears them climbing onto the apron and unlocks the hold and rolls out of the ring. Lee and Hastey check on Benoit, while a sadistic grin breaks out on Danielson!

Tenay: The American Dragon has arrived on Raw and has already provoked the World Champion! What’s going to happen next week!

Winner at 10:42 and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Benoit

Smackdown!

October 5th, 2006

Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us to another exciting edition of Smackdown! They mention that Rhyno decided to take the week off, and is on a fishing trip with Reno. They hype up a contract signing between Orlando Jordan and Nunzio for later on in the show, but the first match is ready to go.

Team Basham vs Team Palumbo

Match Background: Team Basham consists of Doug Basham, Danny Basham, Nova, and Jimmy Rave. Team Palumbo consists of Bill DeMott, Chuck Palumbo, Ken Shamrock, and Simon Diamond. Basham Brothers are the reigning WWF Tag Team champions, and have been since 20 August 2006.

The Match: Danny slams Bill DeMott. Bill DeMott charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Tag to Jimmy Rave. STIFF high kick on DeMott by Jimmy Rave. Tag between Bill DeMott and Ken Shamrock. Shamrock walks into a high dropkick from Jimmy Rave, almost losing several teeth in the process. Tag to Nova. Jimmy Rave and Nova hook up Shamrock, then hit a double suplex. Spinning bulldog in the corner and Shamrock is down! There's a two count on the pin. Tag between Nova and Doug Basham. Ken Shamrock charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Shamrock walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Basham tags out to Danny Basham. Danny Basham scores with a standing spinebuster. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Danny drops an elbow...but Ken Shamrock moves out of the way. Tag to Chuck Palumbo. Bodyslam by Palumbo. Spear by Chuck Palumbo. Covers for a quick two count. Tag to Simon Diamond. Palumbo \ Diamond whip Danny into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. Hooks the leg for a two count. Wicked suplex out of the corner from Simon Diamond, is executed so well, it hurt MY back. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Rave blocks the suplex attempt and is able to hit the suplex instead! Rave uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Tag between Jimmy Rave and Doug Basham. Spear by Doug Basham. Basham charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Tag to Chuck Palumbo. Diamond \ Palumbo whip Basham into the corner. Simon Diamond whips Chuck Palumbo in for a hard clothesline to follow-up. Powerbomb on Basham. Basham scores with a forearm, sending Palumbo down into the corner. The referee pulls Doug Basham away to get the break. Wait! Palumbo has pulled something out of his tights. Doug Basham walks over...and gets floored by a punch! 1....2....3! The referee never saw the brass knuckles!

My Opinion: Smack dab in the middle of the star spectrum for an average match. **1\2.

Cole: Chuck Palumbo just stole a victory!

Tazz: The Bashams must have still been sporting sores from the beat-down they got from Rhyno and Rodney Mack last week!

Cole: A tainted victory for SARS, but I don’t think they give a damn.

Winners at 8:11: Chuck Palumbo, Bill DeMott, Ken Shamrock, and Simon Diamond.

The GM is in the house.

After the commercial break, we come back to find Mike Sanders in the ring. He has a piece of paper in front of him, which Michael Cole speculates to be a list.

Sanders: It isn’t easy being General Manager of Smackdown! I have been given a lot to worry about and many things to take care of. There are a few things that are on my mind in particular these days. First off, J.R. Ryder did not return to Smackdown after Unforgiven. I made the decision to fire him, but then had second thoughts. However, his Unforgiven tag team match was changed at the last minute to a match for the World Tag Team Championship, which he ended up winning. A Smackdown superstar holding a Raw title is most disgusting to me. I had some intense conferences with Shawn Michaels t his week and we came to an agreement regarding Ryder. As long as he holds that tag title on Raw, he can stay. However, once he loses that title, he must immediately return to Smackdown or he will be fired from the WWF completely!

This generates a mixed reaction from the crowd.

Sanders: Another hard part about being GM of Smackdown is the responsibility I have to ensure the quality of this program. Every Smackdown must be exciting, week to week. However, on October 22nd, I will be facing a new challenge. I will be overseeing No Mercy, the first Smackdown Pay-Per-View in the Mike Sanders era. I’ll be damned if No Mercy isn’t the most exciting Pay-Per-View any of you moronic fans have ever seen. This is why I want something different. No Mercy is going to be filled with exciting matches showcasing wrestlers who hate each other. However, I want something a bit different on that card as well. I want to see two gladiators go at it with no prior contact or hatred of each other. I want these two men to spend the next three weeks knowing that they are going to fight, but they cannot do anything about it until the big night. At No Mercy, we’re going to see the new and improved Sean O’Haire battle Johnny Stamboli! (Pop from the crowd). The gimmick with this match is that if they so much as enter the same room as one another before No Mercy, they will both be suspended! Bear with me, people, this is an experiment I’ve long wanted to try.

Cole: That’s going to be a hell of a match!

Tazz: No kidding, and they aren’t even allowed to interact until No Mercy! We aren’t going to have any idea of what to expect!

Sanders: Last, but not least, I have found myself respecting Don Callis more and more as weeks go by. He is a fine man, who represents two very fine wrestlers in AJ Styles and Low-Ki. Any enemy of his is an enemy of mine. With this in mind, I want to prepare Sean O’Haire for No Mercy by putting him against the man everyone in this company hates the most, Paul London! That is your main event folks, I hope you enjoy watching London be destroyed by the monster O’Haire.

Cole: What a main event for tonight!

Tazz: This is why I love it when Sanders comes to the ring! He always gives us a lot to be excited about!

Cole: I don’t know about that, Tazz! It seems that he’s giving Don Callis special favors, that’s not fair for the rest of the roster!

Low Ki and AJ Styles vs Alex Arion and Sonjay Dutt

Match Background: Low-Ki assaulted Alex Arion last week, stating that he wasn’t worthy of the title shots he had been receiving.

The Match: Low Ki hits some punches. How generic. Big dropkick by Low Ki, who got a ton of air on the move. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to AJ Styles. Low Ki \ Styles whip Arion into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Covers for a quick two count. Second rope flying axe handle, Arion goes down. One day, Styles might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Arion blocks a punch. Arion crushes Styles with a running senton. There's a two count on the pin. Tag to Sonjay Dutt. Flying reverse elbow by Sonjay Dutt. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Sonjay Dutt hits a rolling kick on Styles. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. AJ Styles reverses a hip toss. Second rope flying axe handle, Dutt goes down. One day, Styles might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Tag between AJ Styles and Low Ki. Back suplex on Dutt. Dutt tags out to Alex Arion. Hard impact Russian Leg Sweep by Low Ki. According to some other reviewers around here, 'legsweep' is one word. Rodney Mack comes running down the aisle with a chair! Low Ki whips Alex Arion into the ropes. Mack jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Mack, Arion, and the chair! Alex Arion staggers back into a roll up! 1...2...3! It's over! Arion \ Dutt are beaten down three-on-two by the combined forces of Low Ki, Styles and Mack.

My Opinion: I'll give this a ***1\4 rating. If I left it up to you, you'd probably think it was the greatest match ever! Keep trying...

Tazz: Geez, no one seems to want to give Arion a break these days!

Cole: This is disgusting, ever since Arion was chosen as Rhyno’s opponent last month, he’s been a marked man!

Tazz: Rodney Mack also helped out Don Callis’s men again. The union is in full effect.

Winners at 7:34: AJ Styles and Low-Ki

In the back.

Josh Matthews is standing by with Paul London and Chad Collyer.

Josh: Paul, how do you feel about your match tonight with Sean O’Haire?

London: I’ll be honest, I’m a bit nervous just because I don’t know what to expect. I’ve noticed that O’Haire has been abducting cruiserweights, and taking orders from Trent Acid. The whole thing is very strange, one minute O’Haire is destroying everyone around him and the next minute he’s as helpless as an infant. Either way, tonight Sean O’Haire is going to fall to my London Calling.

Josh: And Chad, how do you feel about Rhyno not being here tonight?

Collyer: For starters, the mental image of Rhyno and Reno fishing together just cracks me up. Secondly, it's just another fine act of professionalism from our beloved WWF Champion. When I was WWF Champion, I was very proud of that and made sure I was here each and every week, at least for the sake of the fans. Rhyno just doesn't care. That's okay though, because this dark age of having a champion no-show events for fishing and defending his title once a month is going to end at No Mercy. I will make Rhyno scream "I quit" and then I will go on and become the WWF Champion that I wanted to be the first two times. I want to prove that my name belongs on that great list of former champions.

Frankie Kazarian vs Scoot Andrews

Match Background: Last week, Scoot Andrews helped cost Kazarian the Cruiserweight title to Jamie Noble. Before that, Andrews was abducted by Sean O’Haire and Trent Acid and resurfaced as their ally. No one is sure what happened to O’Haire’s first victim, Ultimo Dragon.

The Match: Scoot walks into a high dropkick from Frankie Kazarian, almost losing several teeth in the process. Spinning back kick from Frankie Kazarian. Scoot takes a flying neckbreaker from Frankie Kazarian. Implant DDT by Frankie Kazarian! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Scoot blocks a punch. Spin kick by Scoot Andrews to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Springboard reverse elbow by Scoot Andrews. Excellent move. Looks like Muta has giving out lessons. Hooks the leg for a two count. Frankie Kazarian powers out of a Scoot Andrews headlock. Flying reverse elbow by Frankie Kazarian. There's a two count on the pin. Tor-NADO DDT from Frankie Kazarian, Scoot got planted! Pin, but Scoot is out just before the three count. Scoot ducks a wild right hand. Scoot Andrews strikes Kazarian. Kazarian counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Second rope flying axe handle, Scoot goes down. One day, Kazarian might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Scoot Andrews can barely stand. Wave Of The Future! 1....2....3. Trent Acid comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring! Frankie Kazarian is ready though, and strikes first! Frankie Kazarian spins Acid around. Frankie Kazarian hits the Wave Of The Future! Trent Acid has been left down on the canvas. The attempted ambush has backfired.

My Opinion: A **** rating is well deserved for the competitors in this match.

Cole: It looked like Acid was ready for more, but Kazarian beat him to the punch!

Kazarian, not willing to take any chances, makes his exit through the crowd, hoping to avoid any potential attacks by O’Haire or Jamie Noble.

Tazz: Look at Kazarian, running off like a coward!

Cole: That’s probably the smartest thing for him to do right now! Thanks to Trent Acid and Sean O’Haire, the back-stage area has become a most dangerous place to be!

Winner at 10:10: Frankie Kazarian

To wrestle or not to wrestle?

We come back from the break, and there is a table set up with a contract. Orlando Jordan’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring.

Jordan: Okay, Nunzio, this is it. No more games! Tonight you either agree to face me in a singles match, or we sign a contract for No Mercy!

The FBI theme plays, and Nunzio and Tracy Smothers enter the arena.

Nunzio: I would love to wrestle you tonight, buddy. However, I’m afraid I spent the weekend in Puerto Rico, and well, to make a long story short, I probably spent too much time entertaining the local women there. I’m exhausted!

Smothers: You mean the hookers?

Nunzio: NO! They weren’t hookers… or I don’t think they were… um… NEVER MIND! The point is that I’m too tired to wrestle this week.

Jordan: That is the worst excuse I’ve ever heard.

Nunzio: Shut up, this is embarrassing for me! I’ll sign for No Mercy. (Signs his name).

Jordan: Well, that’s better than nothing. (Leans over and signs his name).

Nunzio: Well, now it’s time to brawl.

Jordan: Huh?

Nunzio: You know, these contract signing sessions always end with a brawl. Shall I start?

Jordan: Argh, I’m sick of these games!

Nunzio and Smothers then both rush Jordan into the corner turnbuckle, with Smothers jumping over the table to get to him. Jordan is able to block himself enough to elbow his way out. He throws Smothers over the top rope, leaving him and Nunzio alone in the ring. Nunzio gets on his knees praying for Jordan to not hurt him, but it’s no good. Jordan lifts Nunzio unto the table and pile-drives him onto it!

Cole! Oh my God! I think Jordan just killed Nunzio!

Tazz: They just signed for No Mercy, but now I’m wondering if Nunzio will even make it there!

Jordan stares down at Nunzio’s lifeless body, and leaves. Smothers runs in to check on his friend’s condition.

Haas and Benjamin vs Funaki and Johnny Stamboli (with Erik Watts)

Match Background: Haas and Benjamin are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. This match is in response to Shelton Benjamin being upset that Funaki pinned him in a match a few weeks back. Since Taka Michinoku wasn’t available for the show, Johnny Stamboli kept his reputation as a hired hand up and stepped in for Taka.

The Match: A Gut buster connects on Stamboli and hits hard. Gutwrench into a stomach breaker. Stamboli may be winded. Hooks the leg for a two count. Shelton tags out to Charlie Haas. Haas and Benjamin hook up Stamboli, then hit a double suplex. Spin kick by Charlie Haas to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Hooks the leg for a two count. Stamboli walks into a high dropkick from Charlie Haas, almost losing several teeth in the process. Johnny Stamboli fights out of a grapple. Massive lariat by Stamboli with some POWER behind it. Stamboli tags out to Funaki. Haas takes a flying neckbreaker from Funaki. Superkick by Funaki practically knocks out all of Charlie Haas's teeth! Charlie Haas is able to duck a clothesline attempt and connect with a counter clothesline. Tag to Shelton Benjamin. T-Bone suplex by Shelton, Funaki got folded in half to the point that he was almost able to fellate himself. Mighty impressive, don't you think? Blind lariat by Shelton was downright NASTY! Funaki never...saw...it coming! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Funaki just WALKS into a stiff lariat clothesline from Shelton. Funaki ducks a wild right hand. GORGEOUS Spinning bulldog in the corner and Shelton is down. Shelton Benjamin gets whipped into the turnbuckles by Funaki. Tornado DDT!!! 1....2....3!! It's all over. Haas and Shelton remain in the ring, arguing. Shelton Benjamin looks really angry. Charlie Haas pushes Shelton away and walks off, looking furious.

My Opinion: As close to a ***** match as possible...but unfortunately, it was missing something, so I can only give it ****3/4.

Cole: What an awesome, awesome display! Stamboli was dominant, I cannot wait to see him face Sean O’Haire!

Tazz: And Funaki beat Benjamin again! Looks like there is some tension between Benjamin and Haas.

Winners at 16:22: Johnny Stamboli and Funaki

Don Callis: Motivational Speaker

AJ Styles and Low-Ki are standing side by side, with Don Callis looking at them like a drill sergeant would look at his soldiers.

Callis: Gentlemen, you are the two greatest wrestlers alive today. AJ, you are the true total package of professional wrestling. You can fly with the best of them, and you can out wrestle the best of them. You are a true phenomenon. You deserve to be the top man on Smackdown, not Paul London. You have every right to want and take your spot back. Tonight, London is wrestling in the main event, you wrestled in the first hour. At No Mercy, put him in his place.

Styles: It will be done. I will not fail myself, or you, again.

Callis: And Low-Ki. Never in my life have I met a man with more honor. You are the most honorable man I know, and if I were half the man you are, I’d be lucky. You deserve to be in contention for the United States title. Not Alex Arion. You were right to start a fight with him. I spoke to Mike Sanders after your match tonight, and he agreed to another match at No Mercy. You will challenge for the U.S. title in a triple-threat match, against the champion, Rodney Mack, and Alex Arion. At No Mercy, you will be able to win your belt, and at the same time send Alex Arion back to where he belongs: in dark matches.

Low-Ki: It will be my greatest honor.

Callis: Good, good. Well, my friends, it looks as if we have NOTHING to be worried about.

Paul London vs Sean O'Haire

Match Background: Mike Sanders made this match to soften London up for AJ Styles. Sean O’Haire has been acting as if he’s been possessed by a demon the past few weeks, and has been acting incredibly strange.

The Match: O'Haire scoops and slams Paul London. What's the difference between a scoop slam and a body slam anyway? London is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Sean O'Haire with a spinning neckbreaker on London. Paul London charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Paul London reverses a hip toss. O'Haire takes a flying neckbreaker from Paul London. O'Haire takes a NICE hurrancarana from Paul London. Hooks the leg for a two count. O'Haire blocks a punch. Spear by Sean O'Haire. There's a two count on the pin. High Angle DDT by Sean O'Haire just SPIKES Paul London down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! London blocks a punch. Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and O'Haire goes down. O'Haire blocks the suplex attempt and is able to hit the suplex instead! Running knee lift from Sean O'Haire. AJ Styles comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Paul London turns around. AJ Styles spins London around. AJ Styles hits the Styles Clash! Styles leaves the ring, the damage done! The ref gets into position, administers the three count, and it's over. Sean O'Haire pins London. AJ Styles obviously hasn't finished his attack yet! Paul London stands up. AJ Styles spins London around. AJ Styles hits the Styles Clash! AJ Styles eventually leaves, having caused enough damage.

My Opinion: All it gets is a ***1\2 rating from me. Deal with it.

Cole: Damn it! Sander’s plan worked, London was left totally vulnerable for an attack by AJ Styles!

Chad Collyer comes running out to save London, but Styles slides out of the ring. Collyer and Styles glare at each other (not forgetting that Collyer beat Styles for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania earlier that year).

Tazz: Well, Mike Sanders had a most successful night I must say.

Cole: And I find it sickening.

Tazz: Get used to it, Cole. The Sanders era is here and I don’t see it ending any time soon!

Winner at 7:55: Sean O'Haire

WWF Raw

October 9th 2006

A recap video of Bryan Danielson’s debut airs and the Raw intro begins. The pyro explodes and Mike Tenay and Jonathan Coachman welcome us to yet another action-packed episode of Raw. They announce that tonight we’ll see a rematch from Unforgiven, with Victoria defending her Women’s title against Trish Stratus and GM Shawn Michaels signed a match pitting CM Punk and the IC Champ Tommy Dreamer vs Mattitude 2.0. But first, it’s time for the World Tag Team Championship!

World Tag Team Championship: J.R. Ryder and Brian Kendrick © vs Adam Hastey and Austin Lee

Match Background: This match is for the World Tag Team titles. R & S Connection have been World Tag Team champions since 25 September 2006. Ryder and Kendrick won the titles from Hastey and Lee in a cage match at Unforgiven. Ryder is a Smackdown superstar, and has to return to Smackdown whenever he and Kendrick lose the tag titles.

The Match: J.R. Ryder strikes Lee. THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. There's a two count on the pin. Tag between J.R. Ryder and Brian Kendrick. J.R. Ryder scoops up Lee. Kendrick bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. There's a two count on the pin. Spin kick by Brian Kendrick to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Lee counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Lightning kick by Lee on Kendrick. There's a two count on the pin. Lee tags out to Adam Hastey. Hastey crushes Kendrick with a running senton. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Hastey uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Hastey charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Second rope flying axe handle, Hastey goes down. One day, Kendrick might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Tag to J.R. Ryder. Ryder just WAFFLES Hastey with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Tag between Adam Hastey and Austin Lee. Hard back suplex on Lee. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Ryder scores with a forearm, sending Lee down into the corner. The referee pulls J.R. Ryder away to get the break. Wait! Lee has pulled something out of his tights. J.R. Ryder walks over...and gets floored by a punch! No, the referee saw the brass knuckles! We have DQ decision! Bryan Danielson just came out of nowhere with a chair! Adam Hastey turns...and gets planted with a big shot to the head! Austin Lee runs over...but also gets dropped with a vicious chair shot! Bryan Danielson has put Hastey and Lee down by himself!

My Opinion: A ***3/4 rating! Yay!

Tenay: Austin Lee tried to steal a victory, but the referee caught him in the act!

Coach: But what the hell is up with the “American Dragon!” What has Evolution done to provoke these attacks?!?

Tenay: I don’t know, but I don’t care! Evolution has had this coming, and besides, at least Bryan Danielson has been smart enough to wait until AFTER the matches end to interfere! He clearly respects Shawn Michael’s New Rule!

Kendrick and Ryder fall back, observing Danielson, not sure how to respond to this. Danielson, his work done, makes his exit through the crowd.

Winners by DQ at 9:34 and STILL World Tag Team Champions: J.R. Ryder and Brian Kendrick

Back, by Unpopular Demand

Todd Grisham (who recently returned) is standing by with Justin Credible.

Todd: Justin, just a few weeks ago you turned on your long-time friend and tag partner, Lance Storm. Then you inexplicably gained the right to referee Storm’s World title match at Unforgiven. Now last night on Sunday Night Heat, Storm cost you a match against Johnny C. What is going on, exactly?

Credible: I don’t think I need to explain myself, Todd. Lance and I were a great tag team, but that wasn’t good enough for him. He wanted to leave me behind. I was nothing more than a damn back-up plan to that arrogant asshole. You want to know how I managed the right to referee his match at Unforgiven (pulls out a piece of paper). This is why, I took some courses and am now a certified referee.

Todd: Justin, this isn’t a ref license, this is a piece of scrap paper that says “I’m a ref” in crayon?

Credible: Argh, you think I’d carry the real thing with me? It’s way too valuable, I’d (gets cut off because Steve Corino enters).

Corino: You know something, everyone should back off of you, Justin. You gave Lance Storm exactly what he deserved at Unforgiven. He unfairly defeated ME in that tournament final, it should have been ME challenging Chris Benoit that night. I commend you for what you did. (Justin and Corino shake hands). I’ll keep in touch.

Credible: See, there are still good guys in this world. Anyways, I went to Shawn Michaels earlier today and asked him for a match against Lance tonight on Raw, and he said he’d seriously consider it.

Todd: Oh, hehe. He did, I guess. He already made a big tag match for tonight’s main event.

Credible: Huh?

Todd: He said he wanted a hot main event, so he booked Chris Benoit and Steve Corino against Randy Orton and Lance Storm for tonight!

Credible: What! Why does Corino get to be in the match?!? That’s not fair! (Credible storms off).

Tenay: Wow, sounds like a great match we have to look forward to!

Coach: What the hell, how many times does Chris Benoit have to beat Randy Orton before he will finally go away!

Rico, Lodi, and Ozzy Benton vs Bubba Ray Dudley, Frank Shamrock, and Johnny C.

Match Background: Last week Rico and Lodi beat Shamrock and Bubba Ray in a two on two match. Ozzy Benton is cranky with his associates over his lack of control in their partnership.

The Match: Benton strikes away at Frank Shamrock, not doing much damage at all. Ozzy Benton hits a right hand on Frank Shamrock. Tag between Ozzy Benton and Rico. Rico suplexes Frank to the canvas and floats over. Rico hits a shitty missile dropkick on Frank. There's a two count on the pin. Tag to Lodi. The New Rainbow Express whip Frank into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Lodi hits a spinning back kick. All those spinning kicks look alike, don't they. Frank blocks a kick from Lodi. Frank Shamrock snap suplexes Lodi HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Frank is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Tag between Frank Shamrock and Bubba Ray Dudley. Bubba slams Lodi down and motions to the crowd. Death valley driver (not to be confused with the DVD 500) by Bubba Ray Dudley connects and Lodi is down! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Lodi by Bubba. Remember when that was a legit finish? Tag to Johnny C.. Johnny C. hits some punches. How generic. BIG clothesline on Lodi. Johnny C. misses a clothesline. Tag to Ozzy Benton. Ozzy Benton with a badly-executed spinning neckbreaker on Johnny. One more performed that badly and this match will end on a bad note, if you get my drift. Tag between Johnny C. and Frank Shamrock. Frank Shamrock connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. Frank almost belly-to-belly suplexes Ozzy Benton through the mat. What? It's possible. Ozzy Benton gets knocked to the ground by Frank. Guillotine Choke!!! Ozzy Benton taps out!

My Opinion: **1/4 rating for this one. Scott Keith may say that it's 'Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling', but not for me, buddy. Got to work harder to impress me.

Tenay: Frank Shamrock just made Ozzy Benton submit!

Coach: I’d say Ozzy’s quest for respect has taken a few steps back.

Winners at 6:23: Frank Shamrock, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Johnny C.

A Gracious Return

Trish Stratus is sitting in her dressing room, when she hears a knock at the door. She opens it and Johnny Jeter comes in… with flowers!

Trish: Hello, Johnny! These aren’t for me, are they?

Jeter: Hehe, of course they are. I just wanted to thank you for the match on Sunday Night Heat last night. I’ve been away for a while, taking care of my own personal problems and all, and you made me feel really welcome and good to be back.

Trish: Aww, it was my pleasure.

Jeter: I also wanted to wish you good luck in your match with Victoria.

Trish: (Smiling) Thank you, I feel good about my chances. (Stratus pats Jeter and the shoulder, and heads out).

Tenay: Well, that was certainly a nice gesture by Johnny Jeter.

Coach: Bah, who does this Johnny Jeter think he is? Bringing a beautiful woman like Trish Stratus flowers? That’s embarrassing for our gender.

Tenay: How does having manners and being respectful to a lady embarrassing?

Women’s Championship: Victoria © (with Stevie Richards) vs Trish Stratus

Match Background: This match is for the WWF Womens title. Victoria has been WWF Womens champion since 25 September 2006.

The Match: Stun Gun from Trish Stratus! I still can't believe that was Austin's finisher at one point. Victoria takes a quick lariat. Covers for a quick two count. Victoria pushes out of a Trish Stratus hold. Victoria connects with rights and lefts and Trish Stratus is down! Victoria slams Trish Stratus down and motions to the crowd. Hooks the leg for a two count. Death valley driver by Victoria! No one executes that move properly anymore. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Big dropkick by Victoria, who got a ton of air on the move. Trish blocks the suplex attempt and is able to hit the suplex instead! Gutwrench into a powerbomb, aka the Doctor Bomb and Victoria hits hard. Covers for a quick two count. Powerbomb on Victoria. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Trish Stratus with a spinning neckbreaker on Victoria. Trish Stratus connects with rights and lefts and Victoria is down! Victoria powers out of a Trish Stratus headlock. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Trish Stratus by Victoria. Remember when that was a legit finish? Death valley driver by Victoria! No one executes that move properly anymore. Trish Stratus grabs Victoria from behind and shoves her into the ropes, then scores with a roll-up...but Victoria rolls through with the move! She is using the tights for leverage! 1....2...3! The referee didn't see it!

My Opinion: They definitely need to hook up again, I don't care what anyone says. ***1\2

Tenay: Victoria had the ropes!

Coach: Whatever, Stratus came up short, and that’s the bottom line.

Trish is a bit confused, but before she can do anything, Richards decides to back her into the corner of the ring. Richards gets a sadistic smile and his face and forces a kiss on her! Victoria then pushes Richards out of the way… and slaps Stratus out of jealousy! At this point, Johnny Jeter comes running down the aisle and Victoria and Richards flee. Jeter checks on Trish.

Winner at 5:59 and STILL Women’s Champion: Victoria

After the commercial break, it’s time for…

Johnny Jeter vs Stevie Richards

Match Background: Jeter just attacked Richards for his assault on Trish Stratus.

The Match: Jeter is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Spear by Stevie Richards. There's a two count on the pin. Stevie charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Spinning back kick from Johnny Jeter. Hard back suplex on Stevie. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Jeter crushes Stevie with a running senton. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Spinning bulldog in the corner and Stevie is down! Stevie counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Stevie Richards hits a bulldog off the ropes. Spinebuster by Stevie Richards. Johnny Jeter reverses a hip toss. The two competitors end up fighting to the outside of the ring. The referee tells them to bring it back in, but neither of them are listening. The ref tries again, and again they keep brawling. The referee completes a ten count, ending the match in a double count out! The fight has started up again! Johnny Jeter attacks Stevie, and they brawl all around ringside, then into the crowd! They eventually disappear backstage, still fighting.

My Opinion: Well, hello there *1/4 rating, how are you?

Coach: Jeter was out of control! Though I can’t say I’d suspect anything less from a former drug addict!

Tenay: Don’t call him that! All we know is that Jeter was gone for a few months due to his personal problems, we have no idea what those problems were!

No Contest at 3:11

In the back!

Todd Grisham is standing by with Raven and CM Punk.

Todd: Punk, tonight you are teaming up with Tommy Dreamer to face the team of Matt Hardy and Matt Stryker. How do you feel about this upcoming match.

Punk: First off, it’s a tremendous honor to be teaming with a legend like Tommy Dreamer. Secondly, it’s going to be a pleasure getting into the ring with these two new-comers for the first time. They waltzed on over here from Smackdown thinking they were big-shots, well I say it’s time to put them in their place.

Todd: Well, these two men aren’t to be taken lightly. Matt Hardy is a former WWF Champion.

Raven: All the power to him, but this isn’t Smackdown. This is Raw, this is where the big boys come to play (Hardy and Stryker come in).

Hardy: Excuse me? Apparently, you have never been in a Smackdown ring before?!? Smackdown is superior to this piece of crap show you call Raw, and we’re going to prove it to you tonight when you get your asses kicked by us. See you in the ring!

Tommy Dreamer and CM Punk (with Raven) vs Mattitude 2.0

Match Background: Tommy Dreamer is the reigning WWF Intercontinental champion, and has been since 20 February 2006.

The Match: Punk slams Matt Stryker down and motions to the crowd. Stryker walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Hooks the leg for a two count. Punk tags out to Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer \ Punk whip Stryker into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Dreamer slams Matt Stryker down and motions to the crowd. Hooks the leg for a two count. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Tommy Dreamer ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Dreamer charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Diamond Dust from Matt Stryker, Dreamer is out! Stryker tags out to Matt Hardy Version 1.0. Stun Gun from Matt Hardy Version 1.0! I still can't believe that was Austin's finisher at one point. Dreamer walks into a jaw breaker. Dreamer counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Tag to CM Punk. Massive backbreaker on Hardy and I get happy flashbacks to Bret Hart's Five Moves of DOOM. Massive lariat! Stan Hansen would approve. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Hardy takes a back suplex. Punk drops an elbow...but Matt Hardy Version 1.0 moves out of the way. Doctor Bomb connects and Punk landed hard. Matt Hardy Version 1.0 gets whipped into the corner. Punk charges in, but into a pair of raised boots. Hardy uses a roll up, with feet on the second rope! The referee hasn't seen it: 1....2....3!! Punk \ Dreamer look like they aren't done...and they attack Mattitude 2.0! After an exchange of blows, Hardy and Stryker are laid out in the ring.

My Opinion: I really shouldn't drink when I'm reviewing matches. Especially with Scotsman, I can't drink nearly as much, so I try too hard. It was either ** or ****, but I guess I'll have to compromise and say ***.

Coach: Ha, looks like Hardy and Stryker just gave Dreamer and Punk some pieces of humble pie! Those sore losers layed out the righteous duo!

Tenay: Can I point out that they cheated to do so!

Winners at 7:02: Matt Hardy and Matt Stryker

The GM is Here!

Shawn Michaels dances his way to the ring, to a massive pop. He takes a microphone and gets to business.

HBK: I don’t want to take too long, because we have a big main event to start shortly, but I have a few things I want to say. I know a lot of you are wondering who this “American Dragon” Bryan Danielson is, so I want to set the record. The Dragon, like Garrison Cade and Brian Kendrick, is a protégé of mine. I just signed him to a World Wrestling Federation contract, and I encouraged him to make a statement with his debut. To my delight, he has, all the while respecting my rule of no interfering in matches. I’d like to also announce that next week we shall see the in-ring debut of Bryan Danielson, right here on Raw! Next week, is going to be significant in other ways as well. Three men who have lost time due to Adam Hastey and Austin Lee’s baseball bat attacks will be returning! Which is why next week, in that very ring, we are going to see Adam Hastey and Austin Lee face the returning team of Shane Helms and Shannon Moore! That’s not it either, as there will be a special guest referee. He will be the one and only Al Snow!

Coach: What?!? Al Snow is coming back!?

Tenay: Well, Coach, it’s been nice working with you, but not that nice. This is great news!

HBK: Lastly, I just want to commend the Raw superstars for following my rule of no outside interference tonight. Now if I could just get them to stop cheating or getting disqualified, I’d be even happier. Enjoy the main event, folks!

Chris Benoit and Steve Corino vs Randy Orton and Lance Storm

Match Background: Chris Benoit is the reigning World Heavyweight champion, and has been since 27 June 2006. Last week, Benoit retained his World title over Randy Orton. Storm and Corino were the final two competitors in a tournament last month to name a number one contender for the Unforgiven pay-per-view.

The Match: Orton hits a right hand. Flying shoulder tackle by Orton sends Benoit CRASHING to the mat. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Lance Storm. Orton \ Storm whip Benoit into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. There's a two count on the pin. Lance Storm snap suplexes Benoit HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Storm is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Benoit ducks a wild right hand. BRAINBUSTAH~! by Chris Benoit! There's a two count on the pin. Tag between Chris Benoit and Steve Corino. Storm walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Running knee lift from Steve Corino. Lance Storm elbows Steve Corino in the face to break a hammerlock. Steve Corino takes a butterfly suplex from Storm. Storm tags out to Randy Orton. Randy Orton hits some punches. How generic. Corino tags out to Chris Benoit. Flying shoulder tackle by Orton sends Benoit CRASHING to the mat. Benoit holds Randy Orton in place. Steve Corino charges...but Orton ducks, andCorinoends up flooringBenoit! Randy Orton moves in for the kill. RKO!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Corino and Benoit remain in the ring. Chris Benoit does not look happy at losing. Steve Corino goes to leave, but gets pulled back in by Benoit. Tensions seem to be rising between these two.

My Opinion: Good bout. In my estimation, it's about ***3/4.

Tenay: Randy Orton picked up a win over Chris Benoit! This has to put Orton back into the title hunt!

Coach: Forget that, look at Benoit and Corino! I don’t think I’ve seen either one look more pissed in ages!

Corino then flips Benoit the bird, to which Benoit responds with by chopping Corino across the chest. Corino goes down and Benoit locks in the Crippler Crossface! Corino is down and out. Benoit stands back up and blows his nose onto the fallen Steve Corino. This prompts HBK to come back out.

HBK: Bravo, bravo, great match, folks. I was just thinking, since Smackdown has their big No Mercy pay-per-view coming up soon, why don’t we have a big Raw next week ourselves? So next week, I say Chris Benoit puts his World Heavyweight Championship on the line in a FATAL Four-way match! It will be Chris Benoit vs Steve Corino vs Randy Orton vs Lance Storm!

Tenay: My God! That’s going to be a classic!

Coach: Yeah, well I’m going to be too busy trying to save my job against the returning Al Snow.

Winners at 15:23: Randy Orton and Lance Storm

Smackdown

October 12th 2006

Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us as the Smackdown pyro explodes and the show is ready to begin. The two competitors for the first match are already in the ring!

Funaki vs Charlie Haas (with Shelton Benjamin)

Match Background: Funaki has two pinfall victories over Shelton Benjamin, which Benjamin is upset about.

The Match: Flying elbow from Funaki connects. Beautiful spinning arm drag out of the corner by Funaki. There's a two count on the pin. Funaki walks into a drop toe hold. STIFF high kick on Funaki by Charlie Haas. Haas hits a dropkick on Funaki and gets right back up. There's a two count on the pin. Vicious kick to the teeth from Charlie Haas. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Haas hits a dropkick on Funaki and gets right back up. Funaki kicks Charlie Haas in the gut to reverse the momentum. Springboard reverse elbow by Funaki. Excellent move. Looks like Muta has giving out lessons. There's a two count on the pin. Springboard dropkick from Funaki. Nicely done. Pin, but Haas is out just before the three count. Hard back suplex on Haas. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Funaki just WAFFLES Haas with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Funaki goes for a splash but Haas puts the knees up. Second rope flying axe handle, Funaki goes down. One day, Haas might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Vicious kick to the teeth from Charlie Haas. Funaki can barely stand. Haastruction! 1....2....3.

My Opinion: As close to a **** match as possible...but unfortunately, it was missing something, so I can only give it ***3/4.

Cole: What an outstanding match to kick off Smackdown! Charlie Haas picks up a hard fought for victory over Funaki!

Tazz: Shelton Benjamin doesn’t look all too thrilled if you ask me, Cole.

Cole: He’s probably upset that Charlie Haas could beat Funaki, but he couldn’t.

Winner at 8:34: Charlie Haas

A GM Stretched Far.

Mike Sanders is sitting at his desk, when Trent Acid enters.

Acid: You wanted to talk to me?

Sanders: Yes, Trent. I would like to know why I have the police requesting permission to search every arena we visit, because the family of Ultimo Dragon hasn’t seen him in over a month?

Acid: Ask Sean O’Haire.

Sanders: I don’t want to ask Sean O’Haire, I’m asking you. Where. Is. Ultimo. Dragon?!?

Acid: I don’t know.

Sanders: I think you’re lying to me. I also think you’re going to put all of Smackdown in a huge legal mess if you don’t fess up. This is why I’m making it your personal responsibility that Ultimo Dragon is here on Smackdown next week, or you are fired!

Acid glares at Sanders, and leaves. About two seconds later, Doug and Danny Basham come in and pull Sanders over his desk.

Doug: Your little SARS boys are pissing us off, Mike. You think we’ve forgotten what Rhyno and Mack did to us! We want them in a match tonight!

Sanders: Are you serious!?! You want to fight the WWF and United States champions!?!

Danny: Damn right!

Sanders: Okay! You got your match, now unhand me and GET OUT!

The duo leaves, satisfied.

Sanders: I just hope Rhyno gets here on time. He went fishing with Reno again today.

Ken Shamrock vs Jay Briscoe

Match Background: Ken Shamrock has been feuding with Jimmy Rave and Nova, when they had the nerve of wining a match against him and Simon Diamond.

My Opinion: **1/4 rating for this one. Scott Keith may say that it's 'Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling', but not for me, buddy. Got to work harder to impress me.

Tazz: Will Jimmy Rave just let it go already!

Cole: I don’t see why he should, Tazz! Shamrock and Diamond have done nothing but disrespect Rave and Nova since coming over to Smackdown.

Tazz: Well, maybe Ken Shamrock will have to respect Jimmy Rave after that attack.

Winner at 4:59: Ken Shamrock

Special Order Match

Josh Matthews is standing by in the back with Johnny Stamboli and his manager, Erik Watts.

Josh: Johnny Stamboli, at No Mercy, on September 22nd, you are going to be facing Sean O’Haire. General Manager Mike Sanders ordered the match, and also stated that you are not to interact with him at all before the match.

Stamboli: It’s a cute trick Sanders has devised. He wants the anticipation of the match to get to us, and watch as we destroy each other out of sheer anxiety at No Mercy. It takes more than that to get under my skin. I’m going to beat Sean O’Haire, especially if he has one of those spells where he just collapses.

Watts: That’s the thing about Sean O’Haire. He thinks he’s all strong, but it seems that he allows Trent Acid to do all of his thinking for him. If Acid wants O’Haire to win at No Mercy, my client could be in for a real war. That is why I have a special plan for Trent Acid at No Mercy. He’s going to wish he never heard the name of “Erik Watts.”

We then go to a commercial, followed by:

Lightning kick by Kash on Stamboli. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Stamboli backdrops Kid Kash out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Johnny Stamboli. Johnny Stamboli moves in for the kill. Fugettabout It! 1....2....3. Johnny Stamboli remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

My Opinion: A badly blown spot prevents me from giving out more snowflakes. ***3/4

Cole: Stamboli’s momentum is growing with each and every passing week. Sean O’Haire had better be on the top of his game at No Mercy.

Winner at 8:11: Johnny Stamboli

Non-title match: Rhyno and Rodney Mack vs Doug and Danny Basham

Match Background: Basham Brothers are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. Rhyno is the reigning WWF World champion, and has been since 16 July 2006. The Basham Brothers are the reigning WWF Tag Team champions, and have been since 20 August 2006. Rodney Mack is the reigning WWF United States champion, and has been since 14 September 2006. Rhyno and Mack beat down Doug and Danny a couple of weeks ago. The Bashams are set to face fellow SARS members Chuck Palumbo and Bill DeMott at No Mercy.

Massive backbreaker on Rhyno and I get happy flashbacks to Bret Hart's Five Moves of DOOM. Death valley driver by Doug Basham! No one executes that move properly anymore. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Doug Basham connects with rights and lefts and Rhyno is down! Rhyno comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Arn Anderson-like Spinebuster by Rhyno, executed to perfection. DeMott \ Palumbo come running down the aisle with chairs! Rhyno and Doug Basham continue fighting, unaware of the intrusion. Bill DeMott slides in and blasts Doug Basham with a chair to the head! DeMott climbs out of the ring, the damage done! Doug Basham can barely stand. Gore!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! DeMott \ Palumbo aren't satisfied! They decide to continue the assault on Basham Brothers, stomping them into the mat until referees pull them away!

My Opinion: A ****1\2 rating for a great match. Keep on trucking...you'll get there.

Cole: Palumbo and DeMott cost the Bashams the match!

Tazz: It doesn’t matter, Cole, the titles weren’t on the line, so the No Mercy match is still intact! If this is any indication, we’re going to see the crowning of new Tag Team champions on September 22nd!

Winners at 23:38: Rhyno and Rodney Mack

Cruiserweight Turmoil

Josh Matthews is standing by with Jamie Noble.

Josh: Jamie Noble, congratulations on becoming Cruiserweight Champion once again.

Noble: Thank you, boy. It’s good to be the champ again. Just wish my title victory could have been a bit more meaningful, when Scoot Andrews started acting all weird ‘cause that Sean O’Haire fool abducted him like an alien. Scoot won’t even talk to me anymore, in fact, I have to watch my back at all times now. Never knowing when those demon-worshipping weirdos are going to want to abduct someone else. (Frankie Kazarian comes in).

Frankie: Well, Jamie, I feel your pain. We must band together on this one. Which is why you should do the right thing and grant me a rematch for the Cruiserweight championship at No Mercy. I talked to Mike Sanders, and he agrees with me on this one, he told me that Sean O’Haire, Trent Acid, Scoot Andrews, and even Ultimo Dragon are forbidden from ring side.

Noble: Why should I face you again!?!

Frankie: To prove you deserve to hold that title. Besides, it will ensure your safety for at least No Mercy.

Noble: You’re on, boy! I’m gonna destroy you.

Frankie: Just do me a favor and don’t hold back this time. (Pats Noble on the cheek in a spiteful manner, and leaves).

Nova comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Simon Diamond turns around. Nova spins Diamond around. Nova hits the Spin Doctor! Nova leaves the ring, the damage done! Cover gets three for Mark Briscoe, Diamond got pinned. M.Briscoe \ Nova are beating down on Simon Diamond! The music of Ken Shamrock hits, and he comes running down the aisle into the ring. M.Briscoe and Nova bail out of the ring, leaving Simon Diamond down in the ring. Ken Shamrock may have saved Simon Diamond from a brutal beating.

My Opinion: Let me practice my math. 13 quarter stars equal a ***1\4 rating, right? Yeah, it does. That's what you get.

Cole: Nova cost Simon Diamond the match!

Tazz: Some measure of revenge was taken by Ken Shamrock as well, he still looks pissed over what Jimmy Rave did to him earlier.

Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and London goes down. London counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Paul London floors AJ Styles...and climbs the turnbuckles. Through the air, London Calling! 1....2....3.

My Opinion: Almost got a **** match, but was lacking in certain areas, so i'm knocking off a quarter of a star. Yes, there is such a thing as a quarter star. ***3/4.

Cole: Yes, London picks up a win over AJ Styles!

Styles, aware of what has happened, gets back up in shock. He sees that London has his back to him, and delivers a vicious low-blow! He then escapes, while London collapses. Meanwhile, Alex Arion and Low Ki have been brawling and are now no where to be seen. Sean O’Haire, looking empathetic, just leaves. Chad Collyer decides to chase after AJ Styles since London cannot. Styles, while limping, makes it up to the top of the stage and goes through the curtain. Collyer is in hot pursuit and about to go backstage when Rhyno gores him through the curtain. Collyer is down!

Cole: A sneak attack by Rhyno!

Tazz: Rhyno set a perfect trap for Collyer, and he just walked right into it!

Collyer is down and out as Mike Sanders comes out and hands Rhyno his WWF Championship. Rhyno holds the belt over his head while standing over Chad Collyer.

Winners at 12:45: Paul London, Chad Collyer, and Alex Arion

Coach: Yes, yes! Stevie Richards showed that little drug addict where he belongs!

Tenay: Just because this is your last week on commentary doesn’t give you the right to make stuff up!

Coach: Oh, I’d be making stuff up anyway. I hear Johnny Jeter and Trish Stratus are having a steamy love affair.

Tenay: Knock it off, your unprofessional ways are embarrassing!

Winner at 5:59: Johnny Jeter

New World Champion?

We fade to a shot of Steve Corino. He’s sitting alone in a studio. He looks solemn.

Corino: Chris Benoit… I had no beef with you. As far as I knew, you and I were cool. We teamed up to take on a common enemy in Lance Storm, and a thorn in your side, Randy Orton. Then what did you do? You let your ego get in the way. Your ego cost us that match, not me. It’s sad, Chris. You and I could have been an awesome force. But you crapped on me, just like Lance Storm did. I’m not mad though. Why, you might be wondering? Because tonight I’m going to get even and take away the one thing that matters to you more than anything: the World Heavyweight Championship. That belt is leaving around my waist, and there is nothing you can do about it Chris Benoit. Your ego has screwed you.

The Champion Speaks

Todd Grisham is standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit.

Todd: Benoit, tonight you defend your title against three other men. How do you… (Benoit cuts him off).

Benoit: It doesn’t matter, Todd. Randy Orton? I pinned him one on one. Lance Storm? The same! Steve Corino? Haven’t faced him yet, but he was the weak link in our tag match last week so I have very little fear of losing my belt to the likes of him. So what if I don’t have to be pinned to lose my title, I’m the best technical wrestler in the entire world. I will have all three of them on the mat before they can throw a single punch!

Todd: How do you feel about the in-ring debut of Bryan Danielson tonight?

Benoit: …. I will be very interested to see his performance tonight. That kid has some guts, it takes a lot to attack the World Champion in his very first in this company. He has my respect for that. However, that doesn’t excuse him from my wrath. Tonight, I defend my championship. But mark my words, I have not forgotten about this “American Dragon.” I hope he had some idea what he was getting himself into by attacking me, because I will not show him any mercy. I am the greatest technical wrestler in the world, and he is more than welcome to try and prove me wrong.

CM Punk comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring! CM Punk drops Credible to the canvas. CM Punk quickly locks on the Devil Lock! Justin Credible has been left down on the canvas.

My Opinion: When I give out 3/4*, it means that I'm being REALLY nice about it.

Benoit blocks a kick from Steve Corino. Wicked suplex out of the corner from Chris Benoit, is executed so well, it hurt MY back. Chris Benoit has Steve Corino down on the canvas. Crippler Crossface!!! Steve Corino taps out!

My Opinion: Great bout. In my estimation, it's about ****.

Tenay: What a brutal war that was! Benoit made Corino tap out to the Crippler Crossface!

Coach: At least one of my favorites won a match tonight. This was a good farewell match for me to call.

Chris Benoit proudly poses with his World Heavyweight Championship. He pauses and sees that on the ramp stands Shawn Michaels, J.R. Ryder, Brian Kendrick, and Bryan Danielson. The four of them raise their arms as a sign of union. Benoit looks a bit shaky, but continues to celebrate in the ring regardless.

Winner at 17:33 and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Benoit

Smackdown

October 19th 2006

The Smackdown! pyro explodes and Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us to the last Smackdown! before No Mercy! They announce that Mike Sanders made a huge 10 man tag team match for the main event, putting Rhyno, Rodney Mack, AJ Styles, Low Ki, and Nunzio against Chad Collyer, Alex Arion, Paul London, Orlando Jordan, and Johnny Stamboli.

Enter The Dragon

Trent Acid and Scoot Andrews come down to the ring to start off the show. Acid is clearly in charge and Tazz makes some jokes about how Trent “must be on acid.” Andrews takes a microphone.

Scoot: Last week, our wise and fair General Manager ordered my master, Trent Acid, to bring forth the Ultimo Dragon. We have done so this very week. Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our organization, allow me to reintroduce you to the Ultimo Dragon!

Ultimo Dragon comes out, dressed completely in black. He solemnly climbs into the ring and stands before Acid and Andrews.

Scoot: Now bow before your master, Dragon. Bow before the ever wise and powerful Trent Acid. Show your loyalty.

Dragon bows before Acid, who is now visibly smiling.

Acid: While it is your place to bow before me, do know that I bow before an even greater power. Though he must remain nameless, he is the provider of Sean O’Haire’s strength, the provider of my wisdom, and the source of Scoot Andrew’s loyalty. Our master shall now be your master as well, Dragon. He will provide you with… (Dragon stands up and nails Acid in the face with a vicious kick)!

Cole: Dragon has interrupted Acid’s twisted little ceremony! He was able to resist the spell!

Tazz: What the hell are you talking about, Cole?!? Trent Acid seems to be manipulating these other superstars but I wouldn’t call it a spell!

Ultimo Dragon vs Scoot Andrews

Match Background: Andrew’s “master” Trent Acid had Sean O’Haire abduct Ultimo Dragon so Acid could take part in a number one contender match for the Cruiserweight title. From there, Acid learned that he could easily influence and manipulate other superstars. He thought he had Ultimo Dragon wrapped around his finger, but he was wrong.

The Match: Spinning back kick from Ultimo Dragon. Scoot pushes out of a Ultimo Dragon hold. Ultimo walks into a high dropkick from Scoot Andrews, almost losing several teeth in the process. Ultimo reverses an irish whip...and Scoot Andrews runs into the referee! Slingshot senton by Scoot, crushing the chest cavity of Ultimo. Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Ultimo Dragon comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Ultimo hits a dropkick on Scoot Andrews and gets right back up. Spinning bulldog in the corner and Scoot is down! There's a two count on the pin. Ultimo Dragon plants Scoot with an EXPLODAH~! suplex. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Scoot counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Scoot crushes Ultimo with a sweet running senton. Pin, but Ultimo is out just before the three count. Scoot Andrews misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Scoot Andrews is in trouble. Flipping Reverse DDT! 1....2....3. Ultimo Dragon climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

My Opinion: I'd love to see a rematch and see if they can top this. ****

Cole: What a victory for Dragon! He freed himself from his capturers and picked up a huge win as well!

Winner at 14:32: Ultimo Dragon

Rhyno’s Pride

Rhyno makes his way to the ring, with his WWF Championship. He is holding onto the belt even tighter than usual. He takes a microphone.

Rhyno: Chad Collyer thinks he is smart. He thinks he has me trapped. WELL HE IS WRONG! So, CHAD, old BUDDY, you think there is any chance that I WILL QUIT this Sunday at No Mercy? I WILL NEVER HAND THIS BELT OVER! I will FIGHT until my LAST, STINKING, BREATH! You have actually cornered YOURSELF! Just WATCH as I REFUSE to quit and you will have NO CHOICE but to quit if simply to end the TORTURE I will put you through. THIS IS NOT A GAME AND I AM NOT A JOKE! I AM THE WWF CHAMPION, AND YOU WILL NOT UNDERESTIMATE ME YOU POMPOUSE, SELF-RIGHTEOUS SON OF A BITCH!

Rhyno throws down the microphone and leaves.

Tazz: Strong words from Rhyno.

Cole: The “I Quit” match at No Mercy is going to be amazing. I cannot imagine either Rhyno or Collyer quitting. The match could very well go on all night!

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs Jimmy Rave and Nova

Match Background: Haas and Benjamin are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion.

The Match: Rave hits a dropkick on Charlie Haas and gets right back up. Flying reverse elbow by Jimmy Rave. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between Jimmy Rave and Nova. Jimmy Rave and Nova whip Haas into the corner. Nova whips Jimmy Rave in for a hard clothesline to follow-up. Spin kick by Nova to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Covers for a quick two count. Haas walks into a high dropkick from Nova, almost losing several teeth in the process. Haas blocks a punch. Powerbomb on Nova. Haas tags out to Shelton Benjamin. Stun Gun from Shelton Benjamin! I still can't believe that was Austin's finisher at one point. Doctor Bomb and Nova is hurt. Nova flips out of a Shelton Benjamin bodyslam attempt. Nova tags out to Jimmy Rave. Shelton takes a NICE hurrancarana from Jimmy Rave. Tiger suplex on Shelton. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, dammit. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and Shelton goes down. Shelton Benjamin avoids a Jimmy Rave avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Shelton almost belly-to-belly suplexes Jimmy Rave through the mat. What? It's possible. Shamrock and Diamond come running down the aisle with chairs! Shelton whips Jimmy Rave into the ropes. Shamrock jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Shamrock, Rave, and the chair! Jimmy Rave falls to the canvas. Jimmy Rave is in trouble. Super Kick! 1....2....3. Shamrock and Diamond are still in the ring doing a beat-down. Out from the crowd comes Funaki! He has a chair! Shamrock and Diamond bail out of the ring as Funaki slides in to the squared circle, unwilling to taste the steel.

My Opinion: A ***1\2 rating for a great match. Keep on trucking...you'll get there.

Shamrock and Diamond get back into the ring once Funaki has his back turned, and it’s on! The three tag teams, along with Funaki get into a huge brawl! Taka Michinoku comes running down to try and help out his friend, and gets sucked into the brawl. Nova and Simon Diamond fall out of the ring, still punching and kicking. This brings Mike Sanders out.

Sanders: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Enough is enough! As much as it makes me happy to see four awesome tag teams in the midst of a war, I cannot have this sort of chaos on my show! So why don’t the eight of you have a four-way elimination match at No Mercy this Sunday! The winners get a shot at the WWF Tag Team Championship next week on Smackdown, regardless of who wins the titles at No Mercy.

Cole: Wow, that match is going to be off the charts!

Tazz: You know something, Mike Sanders has made some surprisingly good calls lately.

Cole: No kidding, they haven’t all been self-serving or biased.

Winners at 5:55: Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin

Sean O'Haire (with Trent Acid) vs Sonjay Dutt

Match Background: Sean O’Haire thinks he’s getting his powers from a demon. He also has a scheduled match against Johnny Stamboli at No Mercy.

The Match: Sean O'Haire connects with rights and lefts and Sonjay Dutt is down! Flying shoulder tackle by O'Haire sends Dutt CRASHING to the mat. There's a two count on the pin. Dutt reverses a Sean O'Haire hammerlock. Second rope flying axe handle, O'Haire goes down. One day, Dutt might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Sonjay Dutt kicks the leg, knocks O'Haire down, and goes to work on it. Dutt hits a dropkick on Sean O'Haire and gets right back up. Dutt walks into a drop toe hold. Full nelson slam on Dutt. Sonjay Dutt can barely stand. Prophecy! 1....2....3. Trent Acid starts shouting commands at Sean O’Haire. Acid states “He wants you to hurt him further!” Sean O'Haire slides to the outside and grabs a chair, then climbs back into the ring. Dutt turns around...and gets planted with a huge chair shot to the head! He is left down and out on the canvas.

My Opinion: Solid bout, but they could do a lot better. ***

Cole: This whole “Trent Acid is speaking for a demon” thing is starting to creep me out. I mean, I assume he’s making the whole thing up, but …

Tazz: But what, you’re not suggesting you think there really is a demon calling the shots?

Cole: Well, so far it’s been very effective!

Tazz: Haha, Cole, you are becoming superstitious!

Winner at 4:19: Sean O’Haire

No Mercy Hard-Sell

After the commercial, Michael Cole and Tazz enthusiastically run-down the card for No Mercy. A video is played, hyping the upcoming Basham Brothers vs DeMott and Palumbo match. This is mostly because the four of them are absent from the show tonight.

Team Rhyno vs Team Collyer

Match Background: Team Rhyno consists of Rhyno, Rodney Mack, AJ Styles, Nunzio, and Low Ki. Team Collyer consists of Chad Collyer, Alex Arion, Paul London, Orlando Jordan, and Johnny Stamboli. Rhyno is the reigning WWF World champion, and has been since 16 July 2006. Rodney Mack is the reigning WWF United States champion, and has been since 14 September 2006. Mike Sanders wanted this match to be the ultimate taste of what’s to come at No Mercy, since he is taking a lot of pride in this pay-per-view being the first of his time as GM.

The Match: Nunzio walks into a high dropkick from Alex Arion, almost losing several teeth in the process. Spin kick by Alex Arion to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Tag to Orlando Jordan. Jordan drives a HARD forearm into the chest of Nunzio. Tag between Orlando Jordan and Johnny Stamboli. Arn Anderson-like Spinebuster by Johnny Stamboli, executed to perfection. Covers for a quick two count. Stamboli tags out to Orlando Jordan. Orlando Jordan hits some punches. How generic. Tag between Nunzio and AJ Styles. Tag to Low Ki. Vertical suplex by Low Ki. T-Bone suplex by Low Ki, Jordan got folded in half to the point that he was almost able to fellate himself. Mighty impressive, don't you think? Tag between Low Ki and Rodney Mack. Mack \ Low Ki whip Jordan into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Jordan flips out of a Rodney Mack bodyslam attempt. Spin kick by Orlando Jordan to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Tag to Chad Collyer. Springboard reverse elbow by Chad Collyer. Excellent move. Looks like Muta has giving out lessons. Rodney Mack avoids a Chad Collyer avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Tag between Rodney Mack and Rhyno. Mack \ Rhyno whip Collyer into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Covers for a quick two count. Collyer reverses a waistlock. Beautiful spinning arm drag out of the corner by Collyer. Chad Collyer moves in for the kill. Spinning DVD!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!!

My Opinion: Absolutely solid match. A few minor things brought it down, so I'm tacking on a **** rating.

Cole: Chad Collyer beat Rhyno! He beat Rhyno! Could this be a foreshadow of what’s to come at No Mercy?!?

Tazz: He may have pinned Rhyno, but he didn’t make Rhyno say “I quit!” That’s going to be the big challenge at No Mercy!

Cole: It’s going to be unbelievable! Goodnight everyone, see you all at NO MERCY!

Winners at 39:33: Chad Collyer, Paul London, Alex Arion, Orlando Jordan, and Johnny Stamboli

My Opinion: A wise man once said 'Can I get a side of bland with that bland'. He's dead now, though. That's what this match was...bland. **

Tazz: Great showing from the young Jay Briscoe!

Cole: I’ve been saying it for a while, Tazz, Jay and Mark Briscoe both have bright futures ahead of themselves in the World Wrestling Federation.

According to some other reviewers around here, 'legsweep' is one word. Tag to Simon Diamond. Delayed BRAINBUSTAH~! by Diamond who held onto that one for ages. ONE...TWO...THREE. I will always and forever mark out for that move. Shamrock takes a NICE hurrancarana from Nova. Shamrock reverses a Nova hammerlock. Ken Shamrock with a badly-executed spinning neckbreaker on Nova. One more performed that badly and this match will end on a bad note, if you get my drift. Ken Shamrock hits a stalling suplex on Nova. Covers for a quick two count. Shamrock tags out to Simon Diamond. Doctor Bomb connects and Nova landed hard. Nova blocks a punch. Nova tags out to Jimmy Rave. Power drive elbow by Jimmy Rave. Diamond blocks a punch. Rave gets caught with a belly to belly suplex from Diamond! Jimmy Rave can barely stand. Belly To Belly! 1....2....3.

Johnny Stamboli (with Erik Watts) vs Sean O'Haire (with Trent Acid)

O'Haire goes for a splash but Stamboli puts the knees up. Johnny Stamboli moves in for the kill. Fugettabout It!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!!

My Opinion: Let me practice my math. 13 quarter stars equal a ***1\4 rating, right? Yeah, it does. That's what you get.

Cole: Stamboli did what many were starting to think was impossible, he defeated Sean O’Haire!

Tazz: Hold up, Cole. Looks like Trent Acid is giving O’Haire some instructions.

O’Haire and Acid are locked in eye contact, and Acid points out towards Stamboli and Erik Watts, who are making their departure. O’Haire nods his head in agreement.

Cole: That’s chilling, what do you suppose he’s telling O’Haire to do?

Tazz: I don’t know, but if I were Johnny Stamboli, I’d be watching my back.

Winner at 8:53: Johnny Stamboli

My Opinion: A ****3/4 rating for a great match. Close, but not 5 stars.

Cole: What a war that was!

Tazz: I thought Kazarian was going to kill himself!

Jamie Noble is handed the Cruiserweight title and poses with it. He turns around and finds Kazarian, holding his hand out for a handshake. Noble pauses for a minute, and then accepts the shake.

Cole: Wow, great sportsmanship from both these competitors.

Tazz: I’m not surprised that Kazarian would be, but Noble? That’s very, um, “noble” of him.

Winner at 19:01 and STILL Cruiserweight Champion: Jamie Noble

Tag between Bill DeMott and Chuck Palumbo. Danny Basham with a spinning neckbreaker on Palumbo. Chuck Palumbo is in big trouble...Double DDT!! 1....2....3! Basham Brothers go into the crowd, where they celebrate their win.

My Opinion: Oh, look out...almost ***, but not quite. **3/4.

Cole: The Bashams might have been bruised up going into this match, but they pulled off the big win and retained their titles!

Tazz: I wouldn’t want to be Palumbo or DeMott right now, having to go back into the SARS locker-room and face the group.

Winners at 5:59 and STILL WWF Tag Team champions: Doug and Danny Basham

United States Championship: Rodney Mack © vs Alex Arion vs Low Ki

Match Background: This will be a triangle bout. This match is for the WWF United States title. Rodney Mack has been WWF United States champion since 14 September 2006. Low Ki assaulted Alex Arion, simply for challenging for the U.S. title at all.

Arion counters out of it and lands a reverse vertical suplex. Low Ki is out! Arion is about to go for a cover, when Rodney Mack makes it back in and throws Arion out to the mat. Mack goes for the cover and Low Ki and gets the pinfall.

My Opinion: All it gets is a ***1\2 rating from me. Deal with it.

Cole: That’s not right! Arion had Low Ki beat, but Rodney Mack took the victory for himself!

Tazz: It’s triple threat rules, Cole. He simply capitalized on the situation and it paid off.

Cole: Still, I think there could be a strong case made that Alex Arion deserves another shot at the United States championship!

Winner at 8:07 and STILL U.S. Champion: Rodney Mack

Orlando Jordan vs Nunzio

Match Background: This match has been building up for months now. It all started when Nunzio felt like having some fun at Jordan’s expense. Orlando Jordan turns around. Tracy Smothers spins Jordan around. Tracy Smothers hits the Swinging Neckbreaker! The referee calls for the DQ because of the interference of Smothers! Nunzio and Smothers beat away on Orlando Jordan, leaving him spread-eagled on the canvas.

My Opinion: A badly blown spot prevents me from giving out more snowflakes. ***3/4

Cole: Damn it, no! Jordan finally gets his match with Nunzio, and THIS happens!?!

Tazz: Hey, he won the match.

Cole: Yeah, but DQ! He doesn’t look like much of a winner right now.

Smothers is holding Jordan still, while Nunzio stiffly punches away at Jordan’s face. Jordan is busted open. Finally, Smothers lets go of Jordan and he collapses. Smothers and Nunzio raise their arms in personal victory and exit.

Winner by DQ at 10:16: Orlando Jordan

No Disqualifications: AJ Styles vs Paul London

Match Background: These two have battled in the past, but the rivalry came back when AJ Styles started noticing the success Paul London was enjoying. Styles believes in his heart that he is the top Smackdown superstar and deserves all the title shots and main event opportunities, which London had been getting.

The Match: Don Callis is absent for this match. AJ Styles hits a rolling kick on London. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Styles crushes London with a running senton. Hooks the leg for a two count. Paul London pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Paul London connects with a back heel kick on Styles and gets back up quickly. Styles takes a flying neckbreaker from Paul London. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tiger suplex on Styles. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Styles takes a flying neckbreaker from Paul London. Styles backdrops Paul London out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of AJ Styles. Beautiful spinning arm drag out of the corner by Styles. There's a two count on the pin. Vicious chokeslam byAJ Styles! I'd compare it to Akira Taue, but then that would start another argument on the TSM Forums. Pin, but London is out just before the three count. Hard back suplex on London. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Styles hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. AJ Styles misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Paul London hits a rolling kick on Styles. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Tiger suplex on Styles. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Paul London floors AJ Styles...and climbs the turnbuckles. London Calling!!! 1....2....NO!! It's not over. London is beside himself. He tries to lift Styles up, but Styles counters with a low-blow. The referee cannot do anything about it, so Styles goes for a chair at ringside. London follows him, though a bit wobbly from the low blow. Styles lunges at London with the chair, but London pulls a drop kick out of desperation and the chair is smacked right into the face of AJ Styles. Now, Styles is busted open. London unfolds the chair and puts it into the corner by the guard rail. He sits Styles right into it. London then climbs onto the guard rail and gets a running start. He nails a missile drop kick to Styles who is still sitting in the chair! London rolls Styles back into the ring, and goes for a second London Calling. He connects and goes for another cover. 1….2….3! Paul London wins the match!

My Opinion: Consider yourself lucky, a ****1\4 is hard to get and it was earned every step of the way. Let's see if you can do better now.

Tazz: What an amazing match! They wrestled, they flew, they tore each other apart! What a match!

Cole: Better yet, I think Paul London proved to AJ Styles that he does deserve to be a top superstar here on Smackdown! London beat Styles without anyone’s help.

Winner at 21:40: Paul London

WWF Championship: Rhyno © vs Chad Collyer

Match Background: This will be an I Quit bout. This match is for the WWF World title. Rhyno has been WWF World champion since 16 July 2006. Rhyno initially won the WWF Championship from Chad Collyer at Fully Loaded in July. From there, Rhyno made a deal with his manager (and Smackdown GM) Mike Sanders that stated he only had to defend his title once a month. Collyer's contract grants him a rematch for the title, under a stipulation of his own choosing.

The Match: STIFF~! chop lights up Collyer who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! BAAACK Body drop by Collyer gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. BIG clothesline on Collyer. Collyer counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Beautiful spinning arm drag out of the corner by Collyer. Rhyno counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Rhyno hits a bulldog off the ropes. Flying spear out of the corner! Collyer nearly got crushed into little bits! Chad Collyer elbows Rhyno in the face to break a hammerlock. Chad Collyer strikes Rhyno. Rhyno ducks a wild right hand. Chad Collyer charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Rhyno floors Chad Collyer and goes for a chair. He brings the chair in the ring and nails Collyer over the head with it. He then patiently awaits for Collyer to stand up. When he does, Rhyno lands another vicious chair shot over the head of Collyer, who is now bleeding! Collyer uses the ropes to get to his feet again, as Rhyno charges over to go for a third shot. Collyer dodges, and Rhyno comes extremely close to hitting himself as the chair bounces off the top rope. Collyer, expecting Rhyno to be down, turns around right into another chair shot! With Collyer on his back, Rhyno pins him down with the bottom part of the chair. The referee asks Collyer if he’s ready to quit, to which Collyer screams “NO!” Rhyno lifts up the chair and unleashes a serious of chair shots to Collyer, who is still on the ground. Rhyno orders the referee to ask Collyer again if he’s ready to quit, to which Collyer just spits. Rhyno decides to try something else. He walks over to a turnbuckle and removes the protective cushion, exposing hard steel. He goes to Irish Whip Collyer into the corner, but Collyer reverses it and Rhyno’s head bounces off the steel. Collyer grabs the chair that Rhyno was using on him to try and take a shot at Rhyno. Rhyno ducks and goes running off the ropes. Rhyno goes for a surprise gore, but Collyer lowers the chair and Rhyno goes into it head-first! With Rhyno in a complete daze, Collyer drops the chair and DDT’s Rhyno right onto it! That is three hard hits to the head Rhyno has taken in the past 60 seconds! The referee asks Rhyno if he’s ready to quit, and Rhyno just growls! Collyer, his adrenaline wearing off, slouches into the corner. He and Rhyno are now circling each other once again. Collyer lunges first, but Rhyno jumps back and grabs Collyer. Rhyno locks in a STF! The referee asks Collyer if he wants to quit. Collyer shouts “not” once again. Rhyno refuses to unleash the hold. The referee asks Collyer several more times, but Collyer refuses each time. Finally, Collyer passes out from the pain, right as he was an inch away from making it to the rope. The referee calls for the bell.

My Opinion: Great match, it deserves every snowflake its getting. ****1\4

Cole: What the hell? Collyer never quit!

Tazz: It doesn’t matter, he could no longer go on with the match!

The entire SARS group floods into the ring. Reno and Bill DeMott lift Rhyno up over their heads, while Rodney Mack and Chuck Palumbo clap on. Sanders looks particularly happy, and he kicks an unconscious Collyer onto the floor. Rhyno is in a complete daze and looks like he might have a concussion from the blows to the head he took.

Cole: I wouldn’t be surprised if both men need to go to the hospital now. That match displayed brutality like I’ve never seen!

Tazz: I think Rhyno proved himself to the world tonight. He can hold that WWF title proudly.

Cole: He still needs to defend that belt more than once a month before he gets any respect from me.

Winner at 35:19 and STILL WWF Champion: Rhyno

The show ends with Mike Sanders and Rodney Mack helping Rhyno exit the arena, while EMTs attend to Collyer at ringside.

Todd: Justin, this isn’t a ref license, this is a piece of scrap paper that says “I’m a ref” in crayon?

Great No Mercy too man, thought the finish to Collyer/Rhyno was great and the Acid/O'Haire storyline is interesting too

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the feedback :)

I just returned to college yesterday, so I'm really not sure how often I can get myself to updating this. I was very inconsistent over the summer, but last spring I posted a lot. I have a theory that this diary thrives when I have something more important that I should be doing instead (like homework).

I have some big matches envisioned for Survivor Series 2006, and it will be fun having both brands getting ready for the same PPV again. Hopefully I'll do a new Raw over the weekend.

History of The WWF Championship!

While I'm sorting out ideas for Survivor Series, I'll try and post some more of the history of my game. As you know, the current story takes place in 2006, but when I started the EWR game, it was in September 2003. So I shall start with the history of Smackdown's WWF Championship belt!

When my game began, Kurt Angle was the WWE Champion, winning the belt at Vengeance 2003, in the triple-threat with Brock Lesnar and Big Show. The last WWE PPV from real life that counts in my game was Summerslam 2003, so forget everything that happened since.

Here is a list of every WWF Championship title change since the beginning of my game, and included are some significant title defenses along the way.

October 19th 2003: WWE Champion Kurt Angle defeat John Cena at No Mercy.

Notes: Basically imagine the actual No Mercy match these two had, but imagine the belt had been on the line. That would be this match.

November 30th 2003: Eddie Guerrero defeat WWE Champion Kurt Angle, and Brock Lesnar in a Triple-Threat match at Survivor Series 2003.

Notes: This was Brock Lesnar’s final main event. After this, he was demoted to the upper-mid-card where he became angry at no longer carrying the Smackdown brand.

December 18th 2003: WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero defeat Spanky on Smackdown!

Notes: This was an absolutely huge match for Spanky. Eddie sold like a pro for Spanky, and even made it look like Spanky was on his way to a title win for a while. However, in the end, Latino Heat cheated his way to yet another victory.

March 21st 2004: Kurt Angle defeat WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero in the main event of Wrestlemania XX.

Notes: By this point, Angle’s morale was at an all-time low, and main-eventing WrestleMania did not help. The match was a big disappointment, only garnering about ***1/2.

May 16th 2004: Shelton Benjamin defeat WWE Champion Kurt Angle at Judgment Day.

Notes: When this match was made, it was planned that Angle would be a long-term champion and reign for several months. Benjamin was just going to be Angle’s first successful title defense, and though he was a mid-carder, head booker Ernie Rowe had enough faith in Angle’s drawing abilities that this would be a successful main event. However, Angle continued to be difficult backstage and pissed everyone off. As a result, on the day of the Pay-Per-View, Rowe changed the outcome of the match, and Shelton Benjamin became the most unexpected WWE Champion in history!

July 18th 2004: Rob Van Dam defeat WWE Champion Shelton Benjamin at Vengeance.

Notes: Just two weeks after his title win, RVD went to WWE officials and admitted that he was addicted to painkillers and needed to spend some time in rehab. Not wanting to strip RVD of the title, Rowe gave him a maximum of two months off to rehab, before he would be stripped. During this time, United States Champion AJ Styles was promoted as the top guy on Smackdown, and carried the show in RVD’s absence. RVD returned after only a month and a half and was able to resume his duties in September.

October 31st 2004: WWE Champion Rob Van Dam defeat Shelton Benjamin at No Mercy.

Notes: This match came about as a result of Benjamin’s anger that RVD could disappear for over a month and then come back and still be champion. The rematch didn’t quite live up to the first encounter, but it briefly established Shelton Benjamin as a main-eventer.

February 27th 2005: WWE Champion Rob Van Dam defeat Chuck Palumbo in a ladder match at No Way Out.

Notes: In what the internet fans stated was “atrocious booking” RVD feuded with Chuck Palumbo, as a way of getting him ready for WrestleMania. The No Way Out match was surprisingly good, and it did it’s job of putting RVD over. A month later, Rob Van Dam walked into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion, and Chuck Palumbo was nowhere to be seen on the card.

March 27th 2005: AJ Styles defeat WWE Champion Rob Van Dam at WrestleMania XXI.

Notes: The match was a ***** classic, yet wasn’t the main event of the show. Raw’s World title match was given the main event spot, with Eddie Guerrero defending the World Heavyweight title against CM Punk, Randy Orton, and John Cena.

May 29th 2005: WWE Champion AJ Styles defeat Rob Van Dam at Judgment Day.

Notes: This rematch from WrestleMania only achieved a ****1/2 rating, but many thought it was due to the interference of Rodney Mack. Mack had just been traded to Smackdown and was looking to start a fight with the brand’s big shot.

July 24th 2005: WWF Champion AJ Styles defeat Rey Mysterio at Vengeance.

Notes: This match came as a response to overwhelming fan support for Rey Mysterio. Much to the dismay of many, Styles retained his title once again, but gave a ****1/2 performance in the process.

August 29th 2005: WWF Champion AJ Styles defeat Rob Van Dam at Summerslam.

Notes: This was the third match between the two, and the third loss for RVD. This was the first clean loss out of the three however, as this match ultimately put over AJ Styles as champion. Not only that, but another ***** classic had been delivered.

November 20th 2005: WWF Champion AJ Styles defeat J.R. Ryder in a Last Man Standing match at Survivor Series.

Notes: Styles and Ryder had been feuding for about three months at this point. They had a match at No Mercy, which ended with a dusty finish DQ, allowing AJ Styles to remain champion. This time, Styles was able to hold on to his title, when Ryder could no longer make it to his feet. This was the third ***** match of Styles’ reign.

March 29th 2006: Chad Collyer defeat WWF Champion AJ Styles in the main event of WrestleMania XXII.

Notes: During Styles’ reign as champ, World Wrestling Entertainment was allowed to become the World Wrestling Federation once again. Styles also became the first man to reign as champion for an entire year since Diesel.

May 4th 2006: WWF Champion Chad Collyer defeat Matt Stryker on Smackdown!

Notes: This is one of the few successful title defenses Collyer has to his credit. Collyer and Stryker tore the house down and were able to spike the ratings in a time where the business was going down.

May 16th 2006: Matt Hardy defeat WWF Champion Chad Collyer at Judgment Day.

Notes: After Styles had reigned for an entire year, there were several Smackdown superstars who had been denied a chance with the title. Matt Hardy’s match with Collyer was a huge disappointment, however, as Hardy had flourished as a mid-carder throughout the past couple of years.

June 8th 2006: Chad Collyer defeat WWF Champion Matt Hardy on Smackdown!

Notes: With the overwhelming negative reaction to Hardy’s title win, the belt was immediately given back to Collyer. Hardy’s morale now resembling the past problems with Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero, Rowe had no other choice. This was also Hardy’s first title defense on television, Rowe had been disgusted with Hardy’s performances on house shows.

July 16th 2006: Rhyno defeat WWF Champion Chad Collyer at Fully Loaded.

Notes: Rhyno had recently been traded back to Smackdown, after three years on Raw. Rhyno shocked the world by pinning Chad Collyer in the main event, but what was even more shocking was the attack on Rhyno by Paul London after the match.

August 20th 2006: WWF Champion Rhyno defeat Paul London at Summerslam.

Notes: Rhyno agreed to defend the title once a month, and this was his first defense since winning the belt. London had beat Rhyno in a couple of non-title matches leading to this contest, but Rhyno was able to avoid a shooting star press and use London’s momentum against him.

September 14th 2006: WWF Champion Rhyno defeat Alex Arion on Smackdown!

Notes: With no Smackdown pay-per-view in September, Rhyno was allowed to choose himself an opponent for a Smackdown title defense. He chose Arion, who had rarely won any singles matches on Smackdown in his entire career. Arion took advantage of the situation and gave Rhyno a run for his money.

October 22nd 2006: WWF Champion Rhyno defeat Chad Collyer in an “I Quit” match at No Mercy.

Notes: You know the story, this just happened ;)

History of the World Heavyweight Championship

Even though I should be working on my literature homework, I feel like relaxing and bringing you the history of the World Heavyweight Championship from my diary’s universe. When my game started, Triple H was the champion, and had just defended it in the Elimination Chamber match against Goldberg, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and Randy Orton. Starting in September of 2003, everything changed…

October 30th 2003: Goldberg defeat World Champion Triple H on Raw.

Notes: They first met at Unforgiven, but Triple H was able to sneak out the victory against “Da Man.” The rematch took place on Raw and Goldberg was able to win the big one.

November 17th 2003: World Champion Goldberg defeat Booker T on Raw.

Notes: This was one of Booker T’s last WWE matches and his final shot at the World title. Booker T retired from his back problems shortly after. In a match that was unusual for Goldberg, he let Booker have a lot of offense and took a good sized beating himself. After the match, Goldberg raised Booker T’s arm.

November 30th 2003: Rhyno defeat World Champion Goldberg at Survivor Series.

Notes: The main reason why Goldberg won the title in the first place was because it was in his contract. New booker, Ernie Rowe, felt that with the new stars he was creating, Goldberg was no longer needed. Goldberg lost the title to Rhyno in a surprisingly short match, as Goldberg had been losing overness with live crowds since before he won the title.

December 14th 2003: World Champion Rhyno defeat Raven in a Hardcore match at Armageddon.

Notes: On this infamous pay-per-view (it only had two weeks to build after Survivor Series) Rhyno and Raven had the match of their lives. This turned out to be a hardcore classic as they bloodied each other during the match. Scott Keith named this match to be the best of Raven’s career and it cemented Rhyno as a main-eventer.

December 22nd 2003: World Champion Rhyno defeat CM Punk on Raw.

Notes: This was a taped Raw that aired on Christmas Eve. It was also CM Punk’s first ever shot at the World title. The two ended the year on a high note, but receiving a **** rating.

March 21st 2004: Chris Jericho defeat World Champion Rhyno and CM Punk in a triple-threat match at WrestleMania XX.

Notes: CM Punk had been a surprise contender for the match, and added quite a lot to the bout. In the end, Jericho was given the World title as a way of capitalizing on Jericho while they still could, as Jericho had made it clear that he was not going to resign with WWE after his contract expired.

April 11th 2004: World Champion Chris Jericho defeat Rob Van Dam at Unforgiven.

Notes: This was RVD’s last night with Raw, before leaving for Smackdown. Y2J pulled out every heel trick in the book, and it paid off as he was able to retain his title in a ****1/2 match.

August 29th 2004: World Champion Chris Jericho defeat Ric Flair at Summerslam.

Notes: Ric Flair had everything on the line. A previously announced stipulation said that if Ric Flair failed to win the World Heavyweight title in the main event, he would have to retire. The end result was a match full of brilliant cheating techniques from both Jericho and Flair, but in the end it was Jericho who was just a tad craftier.

August 30th 2004: CM Punk defeat World Champion Chris Jericho on Raw.

Notes: This was the night after Summerslam. After Punk won the belt, the retiring Ric Flair came out for one last appearance and raised Punk’s arm in victory.

September 28th 2004: World Champion CM Punk defeat Chris Jericho at Unforgiven.

Notes: Y2J was furious over losing his title to Punk on the Raw after Summerslam. Jericho was quite proud of being the one to retire Ric Flair and felt that Punk took away his moment of glory. Punk also had to prove to the fans that he was capable of being the champ, and he tore down the house with Jericho, delivering a classic performance and retaining the belt in the process.

December 5th 2004: World Champion CM Punk defeat Triple H at Armageddon.

Notes: It was only a matter of time before The Game went after Punk. Most were predicting that Triple H was going to soundly beat Punk and send him back to the mid-card, but quite the opposite happened. Punk retained his championship, and it was Triple H who ended up spending the majority of 2005 in mid-card feuds against members of the Gathering and others.

January 25th 2005: Eddie Guerrero defeat World Champion CM Punk at the Royal Rumble.

Notes: Eddie Guerrero had been traded to Raw as a way to try and boost Eddie’s morale, which had been lacking on Smackdown. It worked for a little while, as Eddie was happy to hold a World title again.

March 27th 2005: CM Punk defeat World Champion Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, and John Cena in a fatal four-way elimination match at WrestleMania XXI.

Notes: This match was a huge disappointment and pretty much ended John Cena’s shot at being a main-eventer in WWE. The match was about **1/2 and was totally overshadowed by Smackdown’s AJ Styles vs Rob Van Dam title match from earlier. Eddie Guerrero left WWE shortly afterwards, Cena toiled in the mid-card for months afterwards and eventually left, and Randy Orton wouldn’t get another shot at a main event for about ten months.

April 17th 2005: World Champion CM Punk defeat Triple H and Lance Storm in a triple threat match at Backlash.

Notes: Triple H and Lance Storm had been feuding for months, and while trading victories had found themselves as contenders for the World title. Punk was able to capitalize on the two enemies being distracted by each other and pulled off another huge victory.

June 27th 2005: World Champion CM Punk defeat Rico at Bad Blood.

Notes: The team of Rico and Lodi (the New Rainbow Express) had set out to take out Punk and Julio Dinero. Quite a lot of build-up went into this match as the Rainbow Express picked up a tag victory over Punk and Dinero, but Punk was able to pin Lodi a week later. Rico had the momentum going into this match, but Punk once again proved why he was the champion and decisively pinned Rico in the main event of Bad Blood.

August 29th 2005: Raven defeat World Champion CM Punk at Summerslam.

Notes: This match came during a time where the Gathering was splitting apart. Raven and CM Punk both wanted to be World Champion, and this lead to Julio Dinero and Alexis Laree siding with CM Punk while Seven (who we haven’t seen in this diary due to injury) sided with Raven. It all boiled down to this match, where Raven won the title with some help from Seven.

September 25th 2005: Triple H defeat World Champion Raven, CM Punk, and Stevie Richards in a Fatal Four-way match at Unforgiven.

Notes: This four-way was special because it featured two Evolution members and two Gathering members. At this point, Raven and CM Punk were mending their differences and Triple H didn’t consider Richards to be a viable threat to the title, so there was little tension. In the end, Triple H used his trusty sledgehammer to win himself his final World title.

December 18th 2005: World Champion Triple H defeat Shawn Michaels at Armageddon.

Notes: Sort like in real life, Triple H and HBK had been feuding off and on. Unlike in real life, they were hardly ever one on one encounters. Triple H usually had Evolution with him, while Michaels would team up with other top baby-faces. This was their first singles match since 2003. In a good main event, Triple H would go on and pin Michaels once and for all, and the two never competed in another singles match again.

January 25th 2006: CM Punk defeat World Champion Triple H at the Royal Rumble.

Notes: The match was lackluster as Triple H’s ring skills were winding down. It was still a big night for CM Punk, who celebrated with Raven after his win.

March 29th 2006: World Champion CM Punk defeat Rhyno in a Hell in the Cell match at WrestleMania XXII.

Notes: Rhyno left for Smackdown shortly after this bout, but it was a brutal blood-bath of a match. Punk was considered the underdog going into this match due to the sheer aggressiveness that Rhyno had displayed in the weeks going into this match. Rhyno had spent most of 2005 as half of the tag team champions with John Cena, so when Rhyno won the Royal Rumble two months earlier, a fire was re-lit inside him. It still wasn’t enough, as Punk retained the title.

April 30th 2006: World Champion CM Punk defeat Austin Lee at Backlash.

Notes: Raw was going through a stage of starting over around this time. Top players were starting to wind down and not enough young stars had been elevated. So at Backlash, CM Punk put his title on the line against the winner of a tournament, Austin Lee. It was a good competitive match (about ***3/4) and Punk made a decisive win, though it was anti-climatic since no one really expected Austin Lee to win.

June 27th 2006: Chris Benoit defeat World Champion CM Punk at Bad Blood.

Notes: Chris Benoit made a long-awaited return to the WWF just a few months earlier, and started his comeback by attacking random superstars on both Raw and Smackdown. Eventually, Benoit settled down on Raw and earned a shot at the World title and made the most of the situation.

July 24th 2006: World Champion Chris Benoit defeat CM Punk on Raw.

Notes: New GM Shawn Michaels made this match, and it was the blow-off to the Punk/Benoit feud. Benoit wrestled a violent match and retained the title over the man who had dominated the World title scene for the past couple of years. Benoit had waited his entire career to win a World title and he wasn’t going to hand it over just yet!

August 20th 2006: World Champion Chris Benoit defeat Randy Orton and Simon Diamond in a triple threat elimination match at Summerslam.

Notes: Randy Orton was just returning from Raw, and Shawn Michaels wanted to use Orton to take apart Evolution (which Benoit was now a part of). Simon Diamond had been an Evolution member, but betrayed Benoit going into this match as a way of gaining some momentum. It didn’t matter, as Benoit retained his title (after an assist from Triple H).

October 16th 2006: World Champion Chris Benoit defeat Steve Corino, Randy Orton, and Lance Storm in a fatal four-way match on Raw.

Notes: This match really tested Benoit, as Orton and Storm had been gunning for his belt for months now. He had made an enemy out of Corino the previous week, so the deck was stacked against the champ. It didn’t matter though, as Benoit fought tooth and nail and made Corino tap out to the crossface.

Yep, No Mercy was sort of my dream Pay-Per-View. I also gave those matches a lot of time based on their excellent star ratings.

Raw

October 23rd 2006

Mike Tenay and Al Snow welcome us to Monday Night Raw! The pyro explodes, and the commentators hype that Shawn Michaels is going to give details on the group he had seemingly united at the end of last week’s program. Mike Tenay also announces that tonight’s main event will be a #1 Contendership match for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Lance Storm facing Steve Corino. But first, we have a match!

Billy Kidman and John Jeter (with Trish Stratus) vs Johnny C. and Stevie Richards (with Victoria)

Match Background: Last week, Stevie Richards attacked Trish and forced a kiss on her. There is a blossoming relationship going on between Jeter and Stratus, so Jeter took great offense to it. Jeter is also no longer going by “Johnny” as he thinks it sounds too childish.

The Match: Implant DDT by John Jeter! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Jeter crushes Johnny with a huge legdrop. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between John Jeter and Billy Kidman. Kidman \ Jeter whip Johnny into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Spin kick by Billy Kidman to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Covers for a quick two count. Standing leg lariat by Billy Kidman on Johnny. Johnny blocks a kick from Billy Kidman. Impaler DDT by Johnny C. just SPIKES Billy Kidman down! Johnny tags out to Stevie Richards. Flying shoulder tackle by Stevie sends Kidman CRASHING to the mat. Stevie Richards hits a bulldog off the ropes. Kidman reverses a waistlock. Tag between Billy Kidman and John Jeter. Spinning bulldog in the corner and Stevie is down! Tor-NADO DDT from John Jeter, Stevie got planted! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Jeter hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. Stevie counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Nice piledriver on Jeter. Stevie Richards ducks a Jeter clothesline and does a quick roll up. Stevie has a handful of tights! The referee hasn't seen it: 1....2....3!! Jeter \ Kidman look like they aren't done...and they attack Stevie \ Johnny! After an exchange of blows, Stevie and Johnny are laid out in the ring.

My Opinion: Slightly above average match. Only gets a **3\4 rating from me.

Tenay: Richards just rolled up Jeter! That came out of no where!

Snow: You’ve got to imagine how angry Jeter must be at Richards!

While this is going on in the ring, Trish and Victoria have started brawling. This is no cat-fight, they are really taking it to one another. Referees break up the brawl, while Stevie and Johnny C. celebrate their victory.

Winners at 5:59: Stevie Richards and Johnny C.

Enough is Enough

After the commercial break, Tenay and Snow announce that Raw GM Shawn Michaels will be joining us in a moment, when the Evolution theme song plays. Out comes the World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Benoit, as well as Adam Hastey and Austin Lee. Hastey and Lee are carrying base ball bats with them.

Benoit: Last week I was in the battle of my life. I defended my World Heavyweight Championship against three other men, and I was able to prove once again that I am the greatest technical wrestler in the world! I made Steve Corino tap out to the Crossface, just as hundreds have done so before him.

Lee: Cut to the chase, man! Yeah, you beat the bastard, good for you. What’s really bothering us is what happened after your match! Shawn Michaels, holding up the arms of three other men? Two of whom, J.R.Ryder and Brian Kendrick, took away the Tag titles from Evolution, and the other guy is some nobody, um, what’s his name?

Hastey: You mean Bryan Danielson?

Lee: That’s right! He’s that amateur who thought it was so cute to lay us all out!

Benoit: If you two would shut up for a moment, I was about to address that! I want some answers! Evolution wants answers! So, Shawn Michaels, why don’t you bring out your group of merry men and tell us what’s going on!

HBK’s music, and he comes out onto the stage. With him are his newly assembled group, consisting of Bryan Danielson, J.R. Ryder, and Brian Kendrick.

HBK: It’s answers you want? I think the answers to your questions would be obvious, Benoit. For over three years, Raw has been dominated, plagued, and over-run by Evolution. The members have changed, but the group’s strangle-hold on Raw has not. When I became GM of Raw, I wanted to make some changes, and I have. However, my vision of Raw will not be complete until Evolution is finally broken up and put in the past. This is why I have this group standing with me. I have found three great wrestlers who I think can put an end to Evolution. I have what I believe to be the greatest tag team I’ve ever seen in Ryder and Kendrick. And for you, Benoit, I have brought in my prized student. This man, Bryan Danielson, I believe to be your superior when it comes to technical wrestling!

Benoit: That’s impossible! I am the greatest technical wrestler in the world! If he would like to step in the ring with me, I’d prove it!

HBK: That’s a great idea, Benoit. However, I have other plans for tonight. Both Evolution and my team here, will be competing in six-man tags tonight. Evolution, your match starts right after this commercial break!

Randy Orton’s music plays, and he comes out with Shane Helms and Shannon Moore.

Tenay: What a huge match! Six-man action after the break!

Chris Benoit, Adam Hastey, and Austin Lee vs Shannon Moore, Shane Helms, and Randy Orton

Match Background: Chris Benoit is the reigning World Heavyweight champion, and has been since 27 June 2006. HBK just surprised Evolution with this match, so the members of Evolution are still in their street clothes.

The Match: Back suplex on Shannon. Shannon Moore takes a butterfly suplex from Benoit. Tag to Austin Lee. Flying elbow from Austin Lee connects. Beautiful spinning arm drag out of the corner by Lee. Covers for a quick two count. Lee tags out to Adam Hastey. Hastey and Lee whip Shannon into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. Adam Hastey hits a rolling kick on Shannon. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Shannon backdrops Adam Hastey out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Shannon Moore. Implant DDT by Shannon Moore! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Shannon tags out to Shane Helms. Shane Helms with a spinning neckbreaker on Hastey. Springboard dropkick from Shane Helms. Nicely done. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Hard back suplex on Hastey. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Tag between Shane Helms and Randy Orton. Hastey takes a headbutt from Randy Orton. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Adam Hastey by Orton. Remember when that was a legit finish? Hastey counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Tag to Chris Benoit. Benoit slams Randy Orton down and motions to the crowd. Tag to Shannon Moore. Shannon Moore kicks the leg, knocks Benoit down, and goes to work on it. Benoit blocks a kick from Shannon Moore. Chris Benoit has Shannon Moore down on the canvas and is ascending the corner. Swandive Headbutt!!! 1....2....3!! It's all over.

My Opinion: Some blown spots really drag this match down a notch, so its ***1\2 for you.

Tenay: Evolution pulled off yet another victory!

Snow: It’s funny, Mike. Since Shawn Michaels took over Raw, he’s made it so Evolution has to try harder. That was actually a very impressive victory!

Benoit, grabs a microphone.

Benoit: Ha haha ha! You like that, Michaels?!? You think you can break Evolution! You want a war? Well, you can have a war! I’ve been wrestling for twenty years, Michaels, and I’m just getting started. You can bring on your “American Dragon” and you “best tag team ever” and it won’t matter! They are all going to tap to my Crossface before this is over! You just wait and see!

Winners at 13:22: Chris Benoit, Adam Hastey, and Austin Lee

CM Punk (with Raven) and Tommy Dreamer vs Mattitude 2.0.

Match Background: Tommy Dreamer is the reigning WWF Intercontinental champion, and has been since 20 February 2006. Matt Hardy and Matt Stryker have been feuding with Tommy Dreamer for a while now. CM Punk was brought into this during a tag match a few weeks ago.

The Match: Hardy gets caught with a belly to belly suplex from Punk! Punk drives a thrust kick into the chest of Hardy. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer. Punk \ Dreamer whip Hardy into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. There's a two count on the pin. BIG clothesline on Hardy. Dreamer walks into a drop toe hold. Hardy hits a piledriver on Tommy Dreamer. That used to end matches, you know. Covers for a quick two count. Tag between Matt Hardy Version 1.0 and Matt Stryker. Springboard reverse elbow by Matt Stryker. Excellent move. Looks like Muta has giving out lessons. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Stryker hits a dropkick on Tommy Dreamer and gets right back up. Dreamer pushes out of a Matt Stryker hold. BIG clothesline on Stryker. Tag to CM Punk. Punk hits a right hand. Tag to Matt Hardy Version 1.0. Flying shoulder tackle by Punk sends Hardy CRASHING to the mat. Matt Hardy Version 1.0 gets whipped into the turnbuckles by Punk. Pepsi Plunge, forget about it. 1....2...3! Mattitude 2.0 look like they aren't done...and they attack Punk \ Dreamer! After an exchange of blows, Punk and Dreamer are laid out in the ring. Raven enters the ring and tries to make the save, but Hardy catches him with a twist of fate!

My Opinion: Ohh, looky. A **3/4 match!

Tenay: Just when we think Hardy and Stryker have been put in their place, they go and launch another post match beat-down!

Snow: I wish Shawn Michaels would do something about this. So far he’s been content to sit back and watch this happen.

Tenay: That’s right, he didn’t do anything several weeks ago when Tommy Dreamer assaulted Hardy and Stryker right in front of him.

Winners at 6:17: CM Punk and Tommy Dreamer

Many Colors of the Rainbow.

Rico is giving Lodi a back rub when Ozzy Benton runs into the locker-room all excited.

Ozzy: Guys, guys, guess who we’re facing tonight!

Lodi: Oooh, hopefully someone strong and muscular.

Ozzy: Oh shut up already! It turns out we’re the guys facing Shawn Michael’s little group tonight! Our match is next!

Rico: Oooh, sounds like a hoot and a holler!

Ozzy: A hoot and a holler! Oh, knock it off already! Doesn’t this match mean anything to you guys!?! We’re facing the top superstars of Raw! This is our chance to get back on top!

Lodi: Oh, Ozzy-baby, every night is your chance to get on top.

Ozzy: STOP IT! I’m so sick and tired! This isn’t professional! Please, won’t you guys give me SOME SIGN that you give a damn about your wrestling careers! It seems like all you two want to do is have fun, well GUESS WHAT! Wrestling is NOT SUPPOSED TO BE FUN! We’re supposed to work hard and achieve glory! Argh!

Rico: If I remember correctly, didn’t we establish that Lodi and I have creative control of our little partnership?

Ozzy: Yes!

Rico: Then just relax, baby. We’re going to fight a good match tonight and I feel like we can win. We don’t have to shout about it. Now that you’ve got yourself all worked up, why don’t you go clean up your face. We do have a match next, after-all.

Ozzy: Argh! I hate this!

Brian Kendrick, J.R. Ryder, and Bryan Danielson vs Rico, Lodi, and Ozzy Benton.

Match Background: R & S Connection are the reigning World Tag Team champions, and have been since 25 September 2006.

The Match: Bryan Danielson takes a right hand to the temple from Benton. I bet those hurt more than Sgt. Slaughter's Noogies. Weak bodyslam on Danielson by Benton sets up a legdrop. Benton tags out to Lodi. Lodi hits an arm drag on Danielson, follows it up with about 3 more and locks in an armbar for good measure. Lodi uses a running dropkick into the corner. That was just...ugh. There's a two count on the pin. Tag between Lodi and Rico. The New Rainbow Express whip Danielson into the corner. Lodi whips Rico in for a hard clothesline to follow-up. Running clothesline from Rico was actually MIGHTY sloppy. Rico misses a clothesline. Second rope flying axe handle, Rico goes down. One day, Danielson might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Tag to Brian Kendrick. Spin kick by Brian Kendrick to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Back heel kick off the second rope, Rico goes down. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Implant DDT by Brian Kendrick! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Kendrick tags out to J.R. Ryder. J.R. Ryder connects with a back heel kick on Rico and gets back up quickly. Rico takes a flying neckbreaker from J.R. Ryder. Rico backdrops J.R. Ryder out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Rico. Tag to Ozzy Benton. Benton slams J.R. Ryder down. Ryder is sure in trouble now. Tag between J.R. Ryder and Bryan Danielson. Standing leg lariat by Bryan Danielson on Benton. Flying cross body off the top rope! Bryan Danielson floors Ozzy Benton. Cattle Mutilation!!!! Ozzy Benton taps out!

My Opinion: Nothing offensive, but nothing too special either. **1\2 rating.

Snow: What a victory for Team HBK!

Tenay: So that’s what we’re calling them now?

Snow: I don’t know, I just wanted to call them something!

Tenay: Well, either way, I want to point out that Danielson’s Cattle Mutilation submission hold is perhaps the most deadly submission move I’ve ever seen!

Snow: Do you think it could hold up to Benoit’s crossface?

Tenay: I don’t know, but I’d like to find out!

Winners at 11:18: Bryan Danielson, J.R. Ryder, and Brian Kendrick

Some Romantic Evening

Trish Stratus is walking through the backstage area, when she bumps into Christian and Test.

Christian: Whoa, look what we have here. How you doing, Trish.

Trish: Um, fine. Could you two please get out of my way, I have to go check on John.

Christian: John? Don’t you mean Johnny? It’s quite sad, Trish, seeing a beautiful woman like you messing around with that rookie. Wouldn’t you prefer a real man?

Test: Yeah, Trish. Remember the good old days when you would walk me to the ring? We had fun back then, right?

Trish: That was a long time ago, Test. Though it’s funny, your career hasn’t really gone anywhere since, has it?

Test goes to strike Trish, when Christian stops him.

Christian: Not now, Test. Trish, you need to learn some manners. We think your little Johnny boy needs to learn some manners too. We’re going to keep our eyes on you, so you better watch out.

Tenay: Those two disgust me!

Meanwhile…

Jonathan Coachman is standing by with the new Hardcore Champion, Justin Credible.

Coach: Congratulations on winning the Hardcore title, Justin. Knowing your history in ECW, this must be a tremendous honor!

Justin: Oh, it is. But you know what was a greater honor? Making Lance Storm look foolish! That was, by far, the greatest thing I ever did in my career! First, by turning on him in the middle of match, and then when I screwed him out of the World Heavyweight title last month at Unforgiven. (HBK walks in).

HBK: Hey Justin! I can’t believe what a role you are on! First you get your referee license and now you’re that Hardcore champion! I must say, you really are just incredible!

Justin: Very cute, did you stay up all night thinking of that one?

HBK: Oh, you know it! Anyways, I think you are so impressive that I think you should make good use of that ref license. I think you should ref Lance Storm’s #1 Contendership match that is coming up next!

Justin: Oh, it will be a great honor!

HBK: I’m sure it will be, but keep this in mind. This time you are going to be completely impartial. If you aren’t, I’m going to strip you of the Hardcore title and fire you tonight! Have fun!

#1 Contendership: Steve Corino vs Lance Storm

Match Background: This will be a special guest referee bout. Justin Credible will be the referee for this match. Both of these men challenged for the World title in a 4-way last week on Raw. They also met in the finals of a #1 Contendership tournament in September.

The Match: Big forearm by Lance Storm makes me want to go to the mirror and check MY teeth. Storm charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Storm is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. The referee bumps after catching a wild right hand and is down. Steve Corino scores with a big spinebuster. Hooks the leg, but the referee is still out! Lance Storm once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Vertical suplex by Lance Storm. Steve Corino got absolutely creamed by a KILLER back suplex. There's a two count on the pin. Corkscrew BRAINBUSTAH~! Corino gets destroyed by it. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Corino ducks a wild right hand. Storm walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Pin, but Storm is out just before the three count. Storm blocks a punch. Steve Corino is in trouble. Super Kick!!! That shook the ring. Justin Credible counts the1....2....3, with a disgusted look on his face!

My Opinion: Really good match, given a surprisingly long amount of time ***1/2.

Tenay: Lance Storm did it! He’s the number one contender!

Snow: Justin Credible had no choice but to do the 3-count! He must be beside himself.

Storm gets up and Credible attempts to super-kick him. Storm dodges and when Credible turns around, gets nailed with Storm’s very own super-kick. Storm plays to the crowd and Raw goes off the air.

Winner at 23:54: Lance Storm

Smackdown!

October 26th 2006

A video package highlights No Mercy, and Tazz and Michael Cole welcome us to another exciting edition of Thursday Night Smackdown! They inform us that Rhyno did indeed suffer a concussion during the “I Quit” match at No Mercy, so he won’t be in action tonight. Cole also announces that tonight’s main event will have the United States Champion, Rodney Mack, defending his belt against none other than Johnny Stamboli!

Who’s Next?

Chad Collyer’s music plays, and he enters to a massive pop from the crowd. He is all bandaged up from the “I Quit” match, but he makes a point to wave to the crowd. He makes it to the ring and takes a microphone.

Collyer: Last Sunday, at No Mercy, I was in the fight of my life. I endured over half an hour of hell with Rhyno, trying as hard as I could to make him quit. In the end, I fulfilled my promise, and I never quit. Yet, I’m still not the WWF Champion. Rhyno will defend his title once in November, and I want to make sure it is me getting the shot, because I never quit. (The music of Paul London plays, and London makes his way to the ring with another microphone).

London: Chad, you wrestled an unbelievable match at No Mercy and it’s a damn shame that you didn’t win the title. However, Rhyno’s title defenses are few and far between. I took myself to the limit at No Mercy, and WON my match against AJ Styles. I think it’s quite obvious that the next person to get a shot at Rhyno’s title should be me!

Collyer: You know something, Paul. You’re right. You do deserve a shot at Rhyno! But so do I! Before we get carried away and start getting angry at each other, let’s just stop and remember who is being a coward. Rhyno would rather die than be a fighting champion. I saw the desperation in his eyes at No Mercy, he would have suffered ten concussions if it meant saving his title. (Mike Sanders music plays, cutting off Collyer. Sanders has Reno and Bill DeMott with him and stays on the stage).

Sanders: I think the both of you should shut up this instant! Rhyno is a coward? How so? Are you aware that in the golden years of professional wrestling, the champion would defend his belt once a month, if that! Rhyno is doing nothing but going back to an old tradition, bringing honor and prestige back to the WWF Championship. So you’re right, only one person can challenge for the belt, but that makes it worth that much more!

Collyer: You’d have a more convincing argument if you hadn’t let Rhyno chosen his opponent in September. He was well on his way to letting an announcer or a fan get a shot at the belt. That doesn’t sound like “bring honor and prestige” to me!

Sanders: Well, maybe YOUR argument would be more convincing if you hadn’t just wasted your shot at No Mercy (Reno and Bill start laughing). And as far as you two wanting a title shot, you can forget about it. Rhyno has beaten both of you already and I will hand-pick a challenger for Rhyno to face next week on Smackdown. As far as you two go, why don’t you have a little match later on tonight against Reno and Bill DeMott. You better get used to this too, because Rhyno is never going to lose the WWF title and you two will never get another shot as long as he’s the champion! And believe me, I intend on seeing that Rhyno reigns longer than Bruno Sammartino did!

Cole: This isn’t fair! Collyer and London are the best Smackdown has to offer and they aren’t allowed to challenge for the WWF title anymore!

Tazz: Hey, they had their shots. Sanders is right, Rhyno did beat them both.

WWF Tag Team Championship: Doug and Danny Basham © vs Ken Shamrock and Simon Diamond

Match Background: Basham Brothers are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. This match is for the WWF Tag Team titles. Basham Brothers have been WWF Tag Team champions since 20 August 2006. Shamrock and Diamond won a four-way tag match at No Mercy to earn this title shot.

The Match: Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Ken Shamrock by Danny. Remember when that was a legit finish? Big piledriver on Shamrock. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Doug Basham. Basham Brothers whip Shamrock into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. BAAACK Body drop by Shamrock gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. Covers for a quick two count. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Doug Basham ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Ken Shamrock pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Belly to belly off the top rope! Shamrock tags out to Simon Diamond. Simon Diamond snap suplexes Basham HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Diamond is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! BRAINBUSTAH~! by Simon Diamond! Doug Basham reverses a hip toss. Tag between Doug Basham and Danny Basham. Full nelson slam on Diamond. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Diamond! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Diamond is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Danny Basham misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Danny takes a quick lariat. Simon Diamond gets whipped into the corner. Danny charges in, but into a pair of raised boots. Diamond uses a roll up, with feet on the second rope! The referee hasn't seen it: 1....2....3!! Shamrock and Diamond climb opposite turnbuckles, working the crowd as they celebrate their victory.

My Opinion: A badly blown spot prevents me from giving out more snowflakes. ***3/4

Cole: These two former Evolution members cheated to win the match!

Tazz: Whatever. The greatest team in Raw’s history is now on their way to becoming the greatest team in Smackdown’s history!

Cole: Hey, look at the stage! It’s Jimmy Rave and Nova!

Tazz: What are they doing out here?

Cole: It just looks like they are getting a good view at the new champs.

Tazz: Shamrock and Diamond don’t look too pleased to see them.

Winners at 9:01 and NEW WWF Tag Team Champions: Ken Shamrock and Simon Diamond

The Hunt for Gold

Josh Matthews is standing by with Erik Watts and Johnny Stamboli.

Josh: Johnny, at No Mercy you pulled off a huge win over Sean O’Haire.

Johnny: That’s right, Stacey. Just when people were starting to think O’Haire was unbeatable, I went and proved them wrong.

Josh: Are you at all afraid of repercussions from the win? Trent Acid has been having a most unusual influence on O’Haire.

Johnny: If they are still steaming about losing to me, they know where to find me. I’ve seen how they like to abduct other wrestlers, but if they try that crap on me, I will destroy them all.

Josh: And tonight you will be challenging for the United States Championship against Rodney Mack. Any thoughts?

Johnny: Rodney Mack is a better United States Champion than Rhyno is WWF Champion. Even still, he supports a mad-man and I will take the U.S. belt from him.

Josh: Okay, good luck!

JC Ice vs Frankie Kazarian

Match Background: None.

The Match: Implant DDT by Frankie Kazarian! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Super kick by Frankie Kazarian. There's a two count on the pin. JC Ice counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Kazarian walks into a high dropkick from JC Ice, almost losing several teeth in the process. Flying elbow from JC Ice connects. There's a two count on the pin. Kazarian walks into a face crusher variation. Has anyone's face ever really been crushed by one of those though? Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Flying elbow from JC Ice connects. Frankie Kazarian once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Spinning bulldog in the corner and JC Ice is down! Covers for a quick two count. JC Ice walks into a face crusher variation. Has anyone's face ever really been crushed by one though? Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Frankie Kazarian kicks the leg, knocks JC Ice down, and goes to work on it. Frankie Kazarian misses a clothesline. JC Ice hits a rolling kick on Kazarian. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Vicious chokeslam by JC Ice! I'd compare it to Akira Taue, but then that would start another argument on the TSM Forums. Sean O'Haire just slid into the ring out of nowhere! Frankie Kazarian gets grabbed, and they start brawling. JC Ice takes some shots at Kazarian as well. The referee, seeing the chaos, calls for a no contest ruling. Sean O'Haire has grabbed a chair. JC Ice walks over...and gets floored with a hard shot. Kazarian also takes a hard shot. O'Haire has laid everybody out!

My Opinion: A ***3/4 rating! Yay!

Cole: What the hell is O’Haire doing?!?

Trent Acid is now at ringside and is yelling “Grab them!”

Tazz: Uh oh, looks like O’Haire is about to make another abduction!

O’Haire lifts up JC Ice and puts him over his shoulder. When he goes to get Kazarian, Kazarian fights out of it, and O’Haire can’t really do much since he already has JC Ice. Kazarian escapes into the audience. Trent Acid is now screaming “You lost him! Our master is going to be pissed!”

Cole: Their “master?” You don’t suppose it’s that demon Trent Acid keeps going on about?

Tazz: I don’t know, Cole! I just wish someone would put a stop to this!

No contest at 7:15.

Masters of Kissing Ass

Mike Sanders is making his way through the backstage area, when he comes into Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.

Shelton: Hey, Mr. GM. We just wanted to let you know that we think you’re right on about Rhyno and the WWF Championship.

Charlie: Yeah, Rhyno is doing an unbelievable job of restoring prestige to the title.

Shelton: Yeah, and if there is anything we can do to help, just let us know.

Sanders: You know what, guys? You might actually be able to. I’ll get back to you soon.

Cole: Oh give me a break! What a couple of suck-ups Haas and Benjamin are!

Tazz: What are you talking about, Cole! That was a great act of selflessness!

Cole: I don’t buy that for a second! I can assure you that they want a shot at Rhyno’s title as badly as anyone else!

Low Ki vs Alex Arion

Match Background: These two competed in a triple threat match at No Mercy, both losing to Rodney Mack. Low Ki has attacked Arion in the past, not believing he was worthy of the opportunities he was getting.

The Match: Low Ki walks into a high dropkick from Alex Arion, almost losing several teeth in the process. Low Ki flips out of a Alex Arion bodyslam attempt. Arion takes a back suplex. The ref is bumped, as goes down after accidentally getting caught by an elbow to the face. Emerald Fusion by Low Ki on Arion! Hooks the leg, but the referee is still out! Alex Arion pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Low Ki takes a flying neckbreaker from Alex Arion. Arion crushes Low Ki with a running senton. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tor-NADO DDT from Alex Arion, Low Ki got planted! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Low Ki counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Reverse DDT into a backbreaker by Low Ki. That was interesting. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Arion blocks the suplex attempt and is able to hit the suplex instead! Low Ki grabs Alex Arion from behind and shoves him into the ropes, then scores with a roll-up...but Arion rolls through with the move! 1....2...3!!

My Opinion: Let me practice my math. 13 quarter stars equal a ***1\4 rating, right? Yeah, it does. That's what you get.

Cole: What a huge upset! Alex Arion just pinned Low Ki!

Tazz: And look at Low Ki’s face!

Low Ki grabs the referee, then nails him with a right hand! With the referee down, Low Ki starts repeatedly kicking the ref in the back of the head. Dozens of people hit the ring to stop any further incident.

Cole: What the hell is Low Ki’s problem! He lost the match fair and square! For someone who is always talking about how honorable he is, Low Ki never, and I mean NEVER shows any signs of honor himself!

Winner at 5:13: Alex Arion

Chad Collyer and Paul London vs Reno and Bill DeMott

Match Background: Mike Sanders made this match earlier, out of annoyance of Collyer and London.

The Match: Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and DeMott goes down. Second rope flying axe handle, DeMott goes down. One day, Collyer might even consider coming off the top with that. You know...for more impact and stuff. Back heel kick off the second rope, DeMott goes down. DeMott tags out to Reno. Collyer takes a headbutt from Reno. Reno charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Spinning back kick from Chad Collyer. Collyer tags out to Paul London. Collyer \ London hook up Reno, then hit a double suplex. Flying cross body off the top rope! Power drive elbow by Paul London. That sounds like a feature on a 4 x 4, doesn't it. Tag to Chad Collyer. Chad Collyer moves in for the kill. Spinning DVD! 1....2....3. Collyer \ London climb opposite turnbuckles, working the crowd as they celebrate their victory.

My Opinion: Nothing offensive, but nothing too special either. **1\2 rating.

Cole: What a decisive win by Collyer and London!

Tazz: Hey, look, Mike Sanders is coming out again and he has a microphone.

Sanders: Reno! DeMott! You two have failed me for the very last time! I’m firing the both of you from Sanders Administration for Rhyno’s Success! Feel fortunate that I’m not firing both of your worthless asses from Smackdown!

Winners at 4:17: Chad Collyer and Paul London

A Surprise Guest

After the break, the music of Shane McMahon plays and out comes the Boy Wonder. Shane gets into the ring and is handed a microphone.

Shane: Every week I watch Smackdown from the comfort of my own living room, but I couldn’t sit back any longer. There are a few things about this show that have been bothering me. First off, Mike Sanders, you are an impartial GM who’s biases could not be any more obvious! But yet, you can keep your job. Without villains, there wouldn’t be heroes, and that’s what Smackdown needs. However, what I cannot stand is Rhyno only defending the belt once a month. I don’t know if you ever watch Raw, but last week World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit defended his title. Next week, Benoit will defend the title again! It makes for exciting television! I know Sanders believes that Rhyno is bringing back an old-school mentality, but guess what. Smackdown isn’t supposed to be old-school! Smackdown is all about being new-school and innovating the wrestling industry! But I don’t want to undermine the authority of Mike Sanders, so I’m making a match for Survivor Series. It’s going to be a classic survivor style elimination match! Rhyno must find himself four tag team partners to face Chad Collyer and Paul London, with three other tag partners of their choice. The stipulation is this: if Rhyno’s team wins, Rhyno can continue to defend the WWF Championship once a month as he pleases. If Collyer and London’s team wins, Rhyno must become a fighting champion, and be willing to defend the belt more often than just Pay-per-views and against challengers of his choice.

Cole: That match is going to be huge! Finally, Shane McMahon arrives to deliver some justice!

Tazz: This isn’t fair! Why should Mike Sanders listen to Shane McMahon?

Cole: Because Shane is Mike Sander’s boss, that’s why!

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs Nunzio and Tracy Smothers

Match Background: Haas and Benjamin are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. This is a heel vs heel match. Nunzio has been feuding with Orlando Jordan.

Haas and Benjamin hook up Nunzio, then hit a double suplex. Hooks the leg for a two count. Haas hits a dropkick on Nunzio and gets right back up. Charlie Haas gets taken down out of nowhere! Nunzio almost belly-to-belly suplexes Charlie Haas through the mat. What? It's possible. There's a two count on the pin. Tag to Tracy Smothers. Haas walks into a jaw breaker. Pin, but Haas is out just before the three count. Tracy Smothers snap suplexes Haas HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Smothers is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Haas powers out of a headlock. Smothers gets caught with a short powerbomb from Haas. Tag between Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin. Shelton Benjamin gets up and gives a Belly to belly suplex to Shelton. Smothers tags out to Nunzio. Big dropkick by Shelton Benjamin, who got a ton of air on the move. Orlando Jordan comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Nunzio turns around. Orlando Jordan slams Nunzio down. Orlando Jordan climbs to the top rope and hits the Moonsault! Jordan leaves the ring, the damage done! Cover gets three for Shelton Benjamin, Nunzio got pinned.

My Opinion: A ****1\2 rating for a great match. Keep on trucking...you'll get there.

Cole: Orlando Jordan cost the FBI the match! That’s probably for what Nunzio and Smothers did to him at No Mercy!

Winners at 20:13: Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas

Another Survivor Series match is named!

Sanders is sitting in his office with his head in his hands when Orlando Jordan crashes in. Before he can say anything, Sanders cuts him off.

Sanders: Stop, just stop! I know what you’re going to say. You’re going to say “That mean old Nunzio wouldn’t wrestle me fairly at No Mercy and I’m pissed.” And then you’re going to say “I want mean old Nunzio again, but I want assurance I’ll get the match I want.” So why don’t I just make Orlando Jordan vs Nunzio in an INFERNO match at Survivor Series! Will that make you happy!?!

Jordan: Actually, yes.

Sanders: Good, now get the hell out of my office!

Tazz: An inferno match?!? We haven’t had one of those in years!

United States Championship: Rodney Mack © vs Johnny Stamboli (with Erik Watts)

Match Background: This match is for the WWF United States title. Rodney Mack has been WWF United States champion since 14 September 2006.

The Match: STIFF~! chop lights up Stamboli who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! Stamboli counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Johnny Stamboli ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Rodney Mack charges, Stamboli moves, and the referee is knocked silly! Brutal spinning powerbomb on Mack! Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Rodney Mack comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Johnny Stamboli by Mack. Remember when that was a legit finish? Mack hits a piledriver on Johnny Stamboli. That used to end matches, you know. There's a two count on the pin. Spear! Stamboli is down! Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Stamboli flips out of a Rodney Mack bodyslam attempt. Arn Anderson-like Spinebuster by Johnny Stamboli, executed to perfection. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Rodney Mack comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Sean O'Haire comes running down the aisle and onto the apron! Stamboli turns...and is dropped throat-first onto the top rope by O'Haire! Sean O'Haire has left Stamboli in big trouble. Rodney Mack floors Johnny Stamboli. Here it comes...Blackout! Johnny Stamboli taps! Sean O'Haire has a chair. Johnny Stamboli stands up...and gets floored by a shot to the head. Another two shots smack down across his back, leaving him unmoving on the canvas. Watts tries to make a save, but Trent Acid and Scoot Andrews run in through the crowd and jump him. O'Haire sets the chair up, then picks up Johnny Stamboli. He gets whipped into the ropes...and then drop toe holded, sending him face first into the chair! Sean O'Haire has left Stamboli down and bloodied in the ring after a brutal assault!

My Opinion: Let me practice my math. 13 quarter stars equal a ***1\4 rating, right? Yeah, it does. That's what you get.

Cole: What a vicious assault! Trent Acid is beating the hell out of Erik Watts as well!

Tazz: Scoot Andrews is giving O’Haire a microphone!

O’Haire: So, Johnny. What was that you said earlier? I could not abduct you?!? Well, if I wanted to right now I think I damn well could! Fortunately for you, my master has no desire for you. He does not think you’d be of use. Unfortunately for you, this also makes you expendable. No one screws with Sean O’Haire and gets away with it. You are no exception to that rule, Johnny. (Spits on Stamboli).

Cole: This is sickening! Trent Acid’s entire group of wannabe demons has gone too far!

Winner at 14:53 and STILL United States Champion: Rodney Mack

WWF News and Notes

-Taka Michinoku has been released from his contract. The World Wrestling Federation wishes him the best of luck in future ventures.

-There is a lot of backstage heat on Stevie Richards right now. Sources indicate he has been acting like a spoiled child as of late and is unhappy with his current push.

-There will be increased efforts in the coming weeks to include the women superstars on Raw. In the past few months, most of the Raw divas have been working on Heat, with the exceptions being Trish Stratus and Women's champion Victoria being regulars on Raw.

-Head booker Ernie Rowe has been very vocal in his praise of John Jeter. Jeter has been on a roll since returning from rehab.

-It is currently up in the air whether or not Taylor Matheny will be used when she returns from rehab. This is her second stint in rehab, and even though she was one of the better women performers, Rowe doesn't find her to be reliable.

-Survivor Series is now officially sold-out. Even with business on the decline, pay-per-view crowds have still been big. Unforgiven was the only pay-per-view without a sold-out audience this year.

Raw

October 30th 2006

Before the theme music and pyro, we see an earlier recorded clip of Evolution arriving at the arena.

Benoit: I’m not happy about this.

Hastey: Neither am I. This sucks.

Lee: Come on, you two. So Shawn Michaels is teaming us up with Steve Corino tonight. What’s the big deal?

Benoit: The big deal is that we cannot trust Steve Corino. I swear, Michaels did this on purpose. Since I’m defending my title tonight, he knew he could play this game with us.

Lee: Well, we have to work with Corino whether we want to or not. I say let’s just get this over with. We’re facing that rat-bastard Randy Orton, girly Shannon Moore, and Shane “I need speech lessons” Helms.

Hastey: We’ve beaten them before, we can do it again.

The Raw theme plays, the pyro explodes, and Mike Tenay and Al Snow welcome us to another exciting episode of Raw.

Snow: Those Evolution cry-babies don’t want to learn to play nice with others, tough luck for them!

Tenay: What a great match that is going to be, but don’t forget folks, tonight we see Chris Benoit defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Lance Storm!

Steve Corino, Adam Hastey, and Austin Lee vs Randy Orton, Shane Helms, and Shannon Moore

Match Background: Steve Corino made an enemy out of Evolution leader, Chris Benoit. This match has seemingly been forced onto everyone.

The Match: Corino takes a headbutt from Randy Orton. Bodyslam by Orton. Tag between Randy Orton and Shannon Moore. Shannon uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Flying reverse elbow by Shannon Moore. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag to Shane Helms. Shannon Moore scoops up Corino. Helms bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. Hard back suplex on Corino. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Steve Corino powers out of a Shane Helms headlock. Corino slams Shane Helms down and motions to the crowd. Tag to Adam Hastey. Flying elbow from Adam Hastey connects. SHINING WIZARD~! on Helms by Hastey! Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Flying elbow from Adam Hastey connects. Hastey tags out to Austin Lee. Standing leg lariat by Austin Lee on Helms. Austin Lee hits a rolling kick on Helms. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Helms counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Tag between Shane Helms and Randy Orton. Flying shoulder tackle by Orton sends Lee CRASHING to the mat. Tag between Austin Lee and Steve Corino. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Steve Corino ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Spear by Steve Corino. Steve Corino moves in for the kill. Here it comes - Old School Expulsion. 1....2...3, it's finished.

My Opinion: Solid bout, but they could do a lot better. ***

Snow: Oh boy, Evolution wins AGAIN! This is starting to get real old, Mike.

Tenay: But look at Evolution and Corino!

In the ring, Hastey and Lee are all excited and celebrating with Corino. There appears to be no tension whatsoever.

Tenay: Is this going to sit well with Chris Benoit?

Winners at 10:34: Steve Corino, Adam Hastey, and Austin Lee

Love is Hard

Jonathan Coachman is standing by with John Jeter.

Coach: So, John, my man. I’ve been hearing a lot about you and Trish Stratus and I…

Jeter: Just shut up, Coach. I heard those things you said about Trish and me while you were doing commentary. Let me begin by putting an end to any rumors. Trish Stratus is a fine woman, who I respect. There is nothing more.

Coach: Wow, I never thought I’d see someone become offended by being viewed as the lover of Trish Stratus.

Jeter: Because it’s not the truth, Coach. However, I’m not about to stand back and watch Trish be disrespected. But since I’ve befriended her, that is all I see. Stevie Richards has disrespected Trish by forcing a kiss on her. You, Coach, disrespect her by gawking and making rumors about her on the air. And last week? Christian and Test disrespected Trish. Is chivalry dead? It would appear so! Tonight, I face Stevie Richards, but not just for myself. Tonight I fight for the honor of Trish Stratus!

Coach: That is by far the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.

Jeter: Oh yeah? We’ll see if you’re still laughing when you see what is left of Richards when I’m done with him.

Tenay: Wow, I’ve really grown to respect John Jeter. We work in an industry where women are all too frequently abused.

Stevie Richards (with Victoria) vs John Jeter

Match Background: These two have built up a bit of a rivalry stemming from an inter-gender match weeks ago on Heat. Since then, Jeter and Trish Stratus have become somewhat close, and during this time Richards has forced a kiss on Trish and attacked her.

The Match: Jeter just WAFFLES Stevie with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Stevie kicks John Jeter in the gut to reverse the momentum. Jeter is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. The ref is bumped, as goes down after accidentally getting caught by an elbow to the face. Spear! Jeter is down! Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! John Jeter pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Implant DDT by John Jeter! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Lightning kick by Jeter on Stevie. Covers for a quick two count. Power drive elbow by John Jeter. That sounds like a feature on a 4 x 4, doesn't it. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Jeter charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Spear by Stevie Richards. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! John Jeter powers out of a Stevie Richards headlock. Stevie Richards gets knocked to the ground by Jeter, who is already climbing the turnbuckle. Flying Spin Kick!!! 1....2....3!! It's all over.

My Opinion: I can be generous sometimes. Well, depends on your definition of generous. **1/4.

Tenay: Jeter followed up on his promise and picked up an upset victory over Stevie Richards!

Winner at 6:30: John Jeter.

Hardcore Renewal

Todd Grisham is standing by with Raven.

Todd: Raven, tonight you get a chance to win back the Hardcore championship in a match with current champion Justin Credible and Frank Shamrock. What are you thoughts on the upcoming match?

Raven: It is always a pleasure to bleed alongside Frank Shamrock. Tonight it will be my pleasure to bleed against him. As for Justin Credible, he thought he was real bad-ass for pinning me for the Hardcore title. Tonight, I burst his bubble. Quote the Raven… never more.

Hardcore Championship: Justin Credible © vs Raven vs Frank Shamrock

Match Background: This will be a hardcore bout. This match is for the WWF Hardcore title. Justin Credible has been WWF Hardcore champion since 16 October 2006.

The Match: Raven takes a right hand to the temple from Credible. I bet those hurt more than Sgt. Slaughter's Noogies. Singapore cane shot by Frank staggers the opponent. Raven once again takes the advantage after blocking a few punches and connecting with some forearms. Raven DDTs Frank, but it just looked terrible. Weak bodyslam by Raven. Covers for a quick two count. BURNING HAMMER~! from Frank Shamrock is executed with perfect brutally! Pin, but Raven is out just before the three count. Raven reverses a Frank Shamrock hammerlock. Frying pan shot by Raven. Flapjack from Credible on Raven. Raven slugs Justin Credible, sending him down into the corner. While Raven fires up the crowd, Credible is removing the turnbuckle pad! Raven comes over...but Credible grabs him by the tights and uses the leverage to slingshot Raven face first into the exposed steel turnbuckle! Justin Credible rolls up the stunned Raven, and even puts his feet on the second rope to add insult to injury! 1....2...3! What a display of cheating from Justin Credible.

My Opinion: This match gets two stars from me. Nothing more, nothing less. **

Snow: You know, I never thought it was even possible to cheat in the Hardcore division until Justin Credible came around.

Tenay: He pinned Raven for a second time! I can’t believe this.

Winner at 5:12 and STILL Hardcore Champion: Justin Credible

Friends?

Matt Hardy is getting ready for his match against CM Punk. Matt Stryker is sitting next to him with a pleased look on his face.

Hardy: I don’t understand why I have to go fight CM Punk, but YOU get an Intercontinental title shot! I’m a former WWF Champion for crying out loud! What have you done lately?

Stryker: That’s just the way the cookie crumbles, man. Don’t worry about it, if I win the title tonight, I’ll let you challenge me for it.

Hardy: For real?

Stryker: Sure, after all, we are friends, right?

Hardy: Yes… yes, we are.

CM Punk vs Matt Hardy Version 1.0

Match Background: Punk has lost to Hardy in tag matches prior to this match. Hardy wants to prove himself as a force on Raw. This match means a lot to both men.

The Match: STIFF high kick on Hardy by CM Punk. Big forearm by CM Punk makes me want to go to the mirror and check MY teeth. Hardy is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Covers for a quick two count. Fallaway slam by CM Punk puts down Matt Hardy Version 1.0. There's a two count on the pin. Hardy kicks CM Punk in the gut to reverse the momentum. Dropkick connects to the BUTT of the jaw and Punk goes down. There's a two count on the pin. Tiger bomb by Matt Hardy Version 1.0, which is nowhere near as cool as a botched Pedigree but gets the job done. Punk blocks a kick from Matt Hardy Version 1.0. High Angle DDT by CM Punk just SPIKES Matt Hardy Version 1.0 down! CM Punk floors Matt Hardy Version 1.0. Matt Hardy Version 1.0 gets locked in the Devil Lock! Submission victory! CM Punk remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

My Opinion: A **** rating is well deserved for the competitors in this match.

Tenay: CM Punk cleanly beats Matt Hardy!

Snow: I bet Matt Hardy wishes he was still on Smackdown!

Winner at 15: 10: CM Punk

In the back…

Brian Kendrick and J.R. Ryder have been watching the match on a monitor.

Kendrick: That was awesome.

Ryder: Yeah, Punk is the freaking man. I always wondered what it would be like to work with him while I was on Smackdown.

Kendrick: Speaking of Smackdown, I was wondering… do you ever find yourself missing it?

Ryder: Yeah, quite a lot actually. It’s been a blast here on Raw, working with you and Shawn Michaels, but I think Smackdown really is where I belong. Plus, I hear Mike Sanders is real pissed that I’ve remained on Raw this long so when I go back I’m going to have a great time dealing with him.

Kendrick: You’re total disrespect for authority amuses me.

Ryder: Heh, not all authority, my friend, just stupid authority. That would be the Mike Sanders category.

Kendrick: It’s been a great time having you here on Raw, man. I just hope we can hang onto our Tag titles for a good long while. I’m going to hate to see you go.

The two men shake hands.

Intercontinental Championship: Tommy Dreamer © vs Matt Stryker

Match Background: This match is for the WWF Intercontinental title. Tommy Dreamer has been WWF Intercontinental champion since 20 February 2006.

The Match: Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Matt Stryker by Dreamer. Remember when that was a legit finish? Massive backbreaker on Stryker and I get happy flashbacks to Bret Hart's Five Moves of DOOM. Hooks the leg for a two count. Stryker flips out of a Tommy Dreamer bodyslam attempt. Stryker just WAFFLES Dreamer with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Covers for a quick two count. Springboard dropkick from Matt Stryker. Nicely done. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Stryker hits a dropkick on Tommy Dreamer and gets right back up. Dreamer kicks Matt Stryker in the gut to reverse the momentum. Tommy Dreamer hits a bulldog off the ropes. Covers for a quick two count. High Angle DDT by Tommy Dreamer just SPIKES Matt Stryker down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Flying shoulder tackle by Dreamer sends Stryker CRASHING to the mat. Stryker is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Stryker counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Hard back suplex on Dreamer. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Dreamer walks into a face crusher variation. Has anyone's face ever really been crushed by one of those though? Tommy Dreamer is in trouble. Here it comes - Stryker Driver. 1....2...3, it's finished. Tommy Dreamer has a temper tantrum, kicking the ropes and punching the turnbuckles.

My Opinion: I'll give it a ***1\2 rating, but that's because I didn't mark out once...but nothing was too bad.

Snow: Holy crap! Matt Stryker just ended Tommy Dreamer’s eight month reign as Intercontinental Champion!

Tenay: I cannot believe it, and neither can Tommy Dreamer!

Stryker is acting like he just won a World title. He’s even crying a bit.

Winner at 18:39 and NEW Intercontinental Champion: Matt Stryker

World Heavyweight Championship: Chris Benoit © vs Lance Storm

Match Background: This match is for the World Heavyweight title. Chris Benoit has been World Heavyweight champion since 27 June 2006. These two already met for the title at Unforgiven in September. In that match, Benoit won due to Justin Credible screwing Storm out of the win. This time it’s just one on one.

The Match: Benoit slams Lance Storm. Chris Benoit snap suplexes Storm. Lance Storm takes a butterfly suplex from Benoit. Flying shoulder tackle by Benoit sends Storm CRASHING to the mat. Storm blocks a punch. Lance Storm hits a rolling kick on Benoit. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Super kick by Lance Storm. Covers for a quick two count. Benoit ducks a wild right hand. BRAINBUSTAH~! by Chris Benoit! There's a two count on the pin. Spear! Storm is down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Chris Benoit misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Benoit walks into a high dropkick from Lance Storm, almost losing several teeth in the process. Benoit reverses a Lance Storm hammerlock. Chris Benoit snap suplexes Storm HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Benoit is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! The two competitors end up fighting to the outside of the ring. The referee tells them to bring it back in, but neither of them are listening. The ref tries again, and again they keep brawling. The referee completes a ten count, ending the match in a double count out! Bryan Danielson comes running down the aisle, and gets into the ring! Bryan Danielson drops Benoit to the canvas. Bryan Danielson quickly locks on the Cattle Mutilation! Chris Benoit passes out to the pain.

My Opinion: Almost got a **** match, but was lacking in certain areas, so i'm knocking off a quarter of a star. Yes, there is such a thing as a quarter star. ***3/4.

Tenay: I can’t believe it! Bryan Danielson has left Chris Benoit out cold!

Snow: Shawn Michael’s merry men were missed tonight, but I think I see what their plan was now. Evolution must have been sitting in a false seat of comfort.

Lee and Hastey run in to make the save, Danielson bails from the ring. Threats are exchanged and Raw goes off the air.

Winner at 13:59 and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Chris Benoit

Smackdown!

November 2nd 2006

Michael Cole and Tazz welcome us to Smackdown as the music plays and the crowd goes wild. They announce that tonight we will see the new WWF Tag Team Champions Ken Shamrock and Simon Diamond in action, as they defend their titles against none other than Jimmy Rave and Nova! But first, Rhyno’s theme music plays, and out comes the WWF Champion himself, along with Mike Sanders, Chuck Palumbo, and U.S. Champion Rodney Mack.

The Evil GM

Sanders: Last week I made a decision in the favor of the continued success of Rhyno, and that was to end our relationship with Bill DeMott and Reno. Let’s face it, they just never contributed and were dead weight.

Rhyno: Yeah, Reno was a crappy fisher-man to boot.

Sanders: Anyways, I must say I’m quite disturbed at what Shane McMahon announced last week. A ten man survivor match at Survivor Series? If Rhyno’s team wins, then Rhyno can keep doing what he has done since July, and restore prestige to the WWF Championship by defending it so very rarely. If Chad Collyer and Paul London’s selfish team wins, then Rhyno must defend his belt against undeserving opponents week in and week out. This isn’t fair and Shane McMahon knows this!

Now you might all be thinking that Team Rhyno will consist of members of SARS. Well, that’s just not necessarily true. After I came to realize the truth about Reno and Bill last week (turning to Rodney and Palumbo) I’m not sure I have as much faith in the both of you either. That’s why you two are going to face Chad Collyer tonight in a 2 on 1 handicap match. If you win, you will be a part of Team Rhyno at Survivor Series. However, should Collyer win the match, the person he pins will be kicked out of SARS.

Cole: Mike Sanders is on a power streak!

Tazz: And why shouldn’t he be? He’s the Smackdown General Manager!

Sanders: Also, last week on Smackdown I promised that Rhyno would defend his belt in this very ring tonight. (Turns to Rhyno). How’s your head feeling?

Rhyno: I’ve fully recovered, Mike. I’m ready to GORE somebody’s sorry ass!

Sanders: Excellent. I looked long and hard, but I found you an opponent. Your WWF title defense for the month of November will be against none other than, THE BLUE MEANIE!

Cole: What the hell!??

Tazz: My thoughts exactly!

Cole: The Blue Meanie is back in the WWF?!? And he’s getting a title shot?!? Mike Sanders is out of his mind!

WWF Championship: Rhyno © vs Blue Meanie

Match Background: Meanie is making his debut at this show. This match is for the WWF World title. Rhyno has been WWF World champion since 16 July 2006.

The Match: Rhyno hits a right hand. Blue Meanie pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Rhyno is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. The referee bumps after catching a wild right hand and is down. Massive lariat! Stan Hansen would approve. Covers for a quick two count. Brutal spinning powerbomb on Meanie! Pin, but Meanie is out just before the three count. Meanie reverses a waistlock. Spear by Blue Meanie. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Rhyno comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Blue Meanie is in trouble. Here it comes - Gore. 1....2...3, it's finished. Blue Meanie leaves and walks back down the aisle. Wait...Rhyno comes running as well, and Meanie gets dropped with a clothesline, followed by a load of stomps. He is left lying in the aisle.

My Opinion: I'll give it a *3/4 rating. If you think of it like currency, it's a 1.75. You can't even take the subway with that anymore here. Work harder man.

Cole: “Restoring prestige to the title” my ass! This is sickening, there are so many talented superstars on the Smackdown roster who would have deserved this title shot over a former star making his return tonight!

Tazz: Another successful title defense by Rhyno. First he beat Paul London, then Alex Arion, followed by Chad Collyer, and now the Blue Meanie. That’s an impressive list if you ask me.

Winner at 3:34 and STILL WWF Champion: Rhyno

Here Comes the Good Guys!

In the back, we see Paul London and Chad Collyer arriving at the arena. They head into a locker-room where they see Jimmy Rave dancing around to some techno music, with Nova sitting nearby, reading a book.

Collyer: What’s he so excited about?

Nova: Jimmy just gets happy whenever there is a chance we’ll win the tag team gold. I think we have a real shot tonight.

London: I’ll say. Best of luck to you both.

Nova: Thanks, man.

London and Collyer, turn around as Josh Matthews comes running up.

Josh: Chad Collyer! Since you’re just arriving now, I doubt you heard the news?

Collyer: Uh oh, what did Mike Sanders do now?

Josh: He made a handicap match for you, against Chuck Palumbo and Rodney Mack!

Collyer: Oh, isn’t that great.

Josh: Yeah, and it’s after the next commercial break.

Collyer: Even greater! I guess I’ll be wrestling in my jeans tonight!

London: Don’t worry, I’ll have your back.

Collyer: I know. Let’s do this!

Chad Collyer (with Paul London) vs Chuck Palumbo and Rodney Mack

Match Background: This will be a 2 on 1 handicap bout. Rodney Mack is the reigning WWF United States champion, and has been since 14 September 2006.

The Match: Palumbo walks into a high dropkick from Chad Collyer, almost losing several teeth in the process. Collyer hits a dropkick on Rodney Mack and gets right back up. GORGEOUS Spinning bulldog in the corner and Mack is down. Covers for a quick two count. Implant DDT by Chad Collyer! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Palumbo ducks a wild right hand. Palumbo \ Mack whip Collyer into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. BAAACK Body drop by Collyer gets a bit of a pop from the crowd. Spinebuster by Chuck Palumbo. Mack \ Palumbo whip Collyer into the ropes and hit a double clothesline. There's a two count on the pin. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Collyer! Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Chad Collyer connects with a back heel kick on Palumbo and gets back up quickly. Chad Collyer charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Mack \ Palumbo whip Collyer into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. There's a two count on the pin. Palumbo scoops and slams Chad Collyer. What's the difference between a scoop slam and a body slam anyway? Collyer counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Mack walks into a drop toe hold. Tiger suplex on Mack. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Chuck Palumbo can barely stand. Spinning DVD! 1....2....3.

My Opinion: I'll give this a ***1\4 rating. If I left it up to you, you'd probably think it was the greatest match ever! Keep trying...

Cole: Collyer won the match! Paul London didn’t even need outside help from London!

Tazz: I guess this means that Palumbo is out of SARS! That’s three members Sanders will have fired within two weeks!

Cole: This leaves Rhyno as the sole member of Team Rhyno, unless he thinks of something.

Winner at 10:01: Chad Collyer

More Handicapped Nonsense

Shelton Benjamin is lifting weights in a training room, while Charlie Haas is coaching him. Mike Sanders enters.

Sanders: Hello, gentlemen.

Shelton: Can we help you.

Sanders: You sure can. You see, I’ve lately found myself admiring both of your talents. I was wondering if you would like the chance to be a part of Team Rhyno at Survivor Series?

Charlie: Wow, that would be an honor! What do we need to do.

Sanders: I need you two to destroy Paul London. I’m making a second handicap match, this time as the main event. It will be the both of you taking on Paul London, and I’m banning Chad Collyer from ringside!

Shelton: You have a deal, Mr. Sanders. I love what Rhyno has done for Smackdown, we will gladly fight by his side.

Sanders: Just make sure that Paul London can’t leave the arena tonight on his own will, and you are definitely in.

Cole: Another handicap match! Someone really needs to stop Mike Sanders!

Tazz: No one can though, he’s the GM! He’s unstoppable!

Low Ki vs Alex Arion

Match Background: Arion defeat Low Ki in a huge upset last week on Smackdown.

The Match: Low Ki slams Alex Arion. Low Ki drives a thrust kick into the chest of Arion. Hooks the leg for a two count. Alex Arion fights out of a grapple. Flying elbow from Alex Arion connects. Alex Arion connects with a back heel kick on Low Ki and gets back up quickly. Hard back suplex on Low Ki. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Low Ki pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Vicious snap suplex! Alex Arion got whipped over hard. Low Ki has Alex Arion down on the canvas. Alex Arion gets locked in the Dragon Clutch! Submission victory! Alex Arion leaves and walks back down the aisle. Wait...Low Ki comes running as well, and Arion gets dropped with a clothesline, followed by a load of stomps. He is left lying in the aisle.

My Opinion: I'll give this a ***1\4 rating. If I left it up to you, you'd probably think it was the greatest match ever! Keep trying...

Tazz: Well, it looks like Low Ki has recovered his honor and pride from that loss last week.

Cole: You cannot take anything away from Alex Arion though. The past couple of months has been amazing for this young superstar.

Winner at 6:17: Low Ki

Cruiserweight Championship: Jamie Noble © vs Ultimo Dragon

Match Background: This match is for the WWF Cruiserweight title. Jamie Noble has been WWF Cruiserweight champion since 28 September 2006.

The Match: Standing leg lariat by Jamie Noble on Ultimo. Ultimo blocks a kick from Jamie Noble. Ultimo Dragon connects with a back heel kick on Noble and gets back up quickly. Jamie Noble charges, Ultimo moves, and the referee is knocked silly! Springboard dropkick from Ultimo Dragon. Nicely done. Cover, but there's no one to count for Ultimo Dragon! Noble flips out of a Ultimo Dragon bodyslam attempt. Jamie Noble hits a rolling kick on Ultimo. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his shitty execution of it. Big piledriver on Ultimo. Hooks the leg for a two count. Wicked suplex out of the corner from Jamie Noble, is executed so well, it hurt MY back. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Jamie Noble gets taken down out of nowhere! Flying reverse elbow by Ultimo Dragon. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Noble counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Sean O'Haire just slid into the ring out of nowhere! Ultimo Dragon gets grabbed, and they start brawling. Noble takes some shots at Ultimo as well. The referee, seeing the chaos, calls for a no contest ruling. Sean O'Haire has grabbed a chair. Noble walks over...and gets floored with a hard shot. Ultimo also takes a hard shot. O'Haire has laid everybody out!

My Opinion: A ***3/4 rating! Yay!

Cole: Sean O’Haire has ruined yet another match!

This time though, there is help on the way! Johnny Stamboli and Frankie Kazarian rush in to make the save. The two of them seemingly overtake O’Haire, until Trent Acid, Scoot Andrews, and JC Ice (sporting some new gothic-looking attire) jump Kazarian and Stamboli. A three on two beat-down begins, which isn’t helped anymore by O’Haire getting back to his feet. When the chaos settles down, it is Jamie Noble, Ultimo Dragon, Johnny Stamboli, and Frankie Kazarian all layed out on the mat.

Cole: Yet another superstar has been sucked into this cult being run by Trent Acid!

Tazz: Not only that, but another perfectly good cruiserweight match has been ruined!

No Contest at 11:45.

Managerial Concern

Mike Sanders is sitting in his office, making conversation with Rhyno and Rodney Mack when Erik Watts storms in.

Watts: Did you see what just happened out there!?!

Sanders: You mean that whole nonsense involving Acid’s little cult activities? Yes, I did notice.

Watts: And you’re not annoyed by them frequently interrupting matches and causing potential legal problems?!?

Sanders: Actually, I am. I had the cops questioning me for days because I was supposedly legally responsible for the safely of Smackdown superstars while traveling and JC Ice was abducted! He seems happy enough now, but I’ve had enough! That is why I’m going to make my own survivor match at Survivor Series. It will be your client, Johnny Stamboli, teaming up with Jamie Noble, Ultimo Dragon, and Frankie Kazarian. Their opponents will be the team of Sean O’Haire, Trent Acid, Scoot Andrews, and JC Ice! And I’m also officially announcing that the next time the “abduct” someone, I’m firing them all!

Cole: Gee, that was um, rather good thinking on the behalf of Sanders.

Tazz: See, Cole, even you don’t totally hate Sanders. Aside from Rhyno, he’s actually pretty fair.

Cole: I wouldn’t go that far, Tazz. You’d be forgetting that he’s made TWO handicap matches for tonight.

WWF Tag Team Championship Ken Shamrock and Simon Diamond © vs Jimmy Rave and Nova

Match Background: This match is for the WWF Tag Team titles. Shamrock and Diamond have been WWF Tag Team champions since 26 October 2006.

The Match: Diamond takes a flying neckbreaker from Jimmy Rave. Spinning bulldog in the corner and Diamond is down! Covers for a quick two count. Tag to Nova. Nova scoops up Diamond. Rave bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. Nova uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Covers for a quick two count. Nova hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. Nova misses a clothesline. TIGER DRIVER~! '91 nearly crushes the spine of Nova! Tag to Ken Shamrock. A Gut buster connects on Nova and hits hard. Ken Shamrock hits an ugly looking bulldog off the ropes. Nova reverses a waistlock. Tag between Nova and Jimmy Rave. Shamrock takes a NICE hurrancarana from Jimmy Rave. Vicious kick to the teeth from Jimmy Rave. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Shamrock walks into a high dropkick from Jimmy Rave, almost losing several teeth in the process. Shamrock blocks a kick from Jimmy Rave. Weak bodyslam by Shamrock. Jimmy Rave hooks up a suplex, but it is blocked. Shamrock scores with a low blow, then turns it into a small package! The referee didn't see the illegal blow! 1...2...3! Jimmy Rave got screwed out of the victory! Basham Brothers come running down the aisle and into the ring! Shamrock turns...and gets floored by a clothesline. Diamond walks into a vicious boot to the face. Basham Brothers set him up, and nail the Double DDT! Shamrock is grabbed...and he gets hit with the Double DDT as well! Basham Brothers have done a number on them!

My Opinion: Some blown spots really drag this match down a notch, so its ***1\2 for you.

Cole: Rave and Nova got screwed out of the titles, but the Bashams are making a huge statement here!

Tazz: They must not be too happy about having lost the titles to Shamrock and Diamond last week.

Cole: It’s a shame, Jimmy Rave was in such a good mood earlier too!

Winners at 8:01 and STILL WWF Tag Team Champions: Ken Shamrock and Simon Diamond

A Fiery Hatred

Nunzio is seen walking through the backstage area, looking rather frightened. He runs into Stacy Keibler.

Nunzio: Stacey, have you seen Orlando Jordan today?

Stacy: Oh yes, I did! He was playing with a lighter earlier today and made some comments about “not wanting to wait until Survivor Series to set some miserable rat on fire.” I wonder who he could be talking about!

Nunzio: Oh, that jerk! Where did you last see him?

Stacy: Well, right now he’s right behind you 

Jordan jumps Nunzio from behind. He attempts to light Nunzio’s sweater on fire with his lighter, when Tracy Smothers makes the save.

Smothers: Maybe we didn’t get the message to you, when we bloodied you at No Mercy! You are no match for Nunzio!

The FBI stomps away at Orlando Jordan, but suddenly…

Stacy: Please stop hurting him!

Nunzio: Huh?

Stacy: I asked you to stop hurting him.

Smothers: Why? Should we hurt you instead?

Stacy: No… maybe you shouldn’t hurt anyone?

Nunzio: (cornering her) But Stacy, someone has to get hurt. Otherwise, where I get my fun? (Makes a kissing motion).

The FBI leaves and Stacy attends to Jordan on the ground.

Paul London vs Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin

Match Background: This will be a 2 on 1 handicap bout. Haas and Benjamin are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion. If Haas and Benjamin win, they will be a part of Team Rhyno at Survivor Series.

The Match: Shelton Benjamin gets up and gives a Belly to belly suplex to Shelton. Spin kick by Charlie Haas to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Charlie Haas scoops up London. Shelton bounces off the ropes and hits a flying Hart Attack clothesline. There's a two count on the pin. NASTY Tiger Suplex by Shelton Benjamin on London. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Haas and Benjamin whip London into the corner. Shelton Benjamin whips Charlie Haas in for a hard clothesline to follow-up. Shelton Benjamin comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Super kick by Paul London. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Shelton Benjamin reverses a hip toss. London gets caught with a short powerbomb from Shelton. Haas and Benjamin whip London into the corner. Shelton Benjamin whips Charlie Haas in for a hard clothesline to follow-up. Hooks the leg for a two count. London reverses a waistlock. Tiger suplex on Haas. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Hooks the leg for a two count. Shelton Benjamin reverses a hip toss. Doctor Bomb and London is hurt. Flying reverse elbow by Charlie Haas. Paul London is on his way to winning this match, but then AJ Styles comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Paul London turns around. AJ Styles spins London around. AJ Styles hits the Styles Clash! Styles leaves the ring, the damage done! The ref gets into position, administers the three count, and it's over. Shelton Benjamin pins London.

My Opinion: A ***3/4 rating! Yay!

Cole: It’s AJ Styles! He’s back!

Styles raises Shelton and Charlie’s arms in victory! The three then start stomping away at London, when Chad Collyer runs in to make the save. Collyer cleans house, throwing Shelton over the top-rope, slamming AJ into the turnbuckle and laying some stiff punches on Haas. However, Low Ki is next to make the save, and he hooks a dragon sleeper onto Collyer and he goes down.

Cole: Hey, look! Sanders and Rhyno are back out.

Sanders: Well, well, well. I wonder if Shane McMahon still thinks he is so smart! Just when everyone thought Rhyno would have no one to back him up, I go and prove everyone wrong. Look before you, as Team Rhyno stands in that very ring!

Cole: No, this cannot be! Sanders has recruited AJ Styles and Low Ki to fight in Team Rhyno?

Tazz: Makes sense, as Sanders is on good terms with their manager, Don Callis. Speaking of Callis, where is he?

Cole: I don’t know, but Collyer and London are going to have to find some supporters fast!

Winners at 18:41: Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas

Interesting S.S. card.

Thanks, I'm enjoying seeing it get played out.

I so totally wish that I had another Smackdown pay-per-view coming after Survivor Series. I do have some Armageddon match ideas floating through my head though. It should be an interesting show to say the very least.
