The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 http://ps2.ign.com/articles/495/495767p1.html I'd have gone Vegas all the way. Playing in a San Francisco clone...not so much...
Aero 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 I would have definitely preferred Vegas, as well. Think of all the cool stuff... Vegas strip and lighting, gambling and casinos. Screw the beaches, I want the desert.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 That would've been cool if they had Vegas. You could bury someone in the desert.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 I vote for Vegas as well. But hey, this comes out on my birthday! Sweet!
DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 I know the GTA message Boards on Gamefaqs just exploded after hearing this. personally, i would have went with two cities.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2004 The hilly terrain of San Francisco works... Could make for some wild driving missions... Plus, you're all forgetting one potential AWESOME element: Alcatraz. EDIT: Well, crap, after doing some digging, it appears that San Andreas will be based on Los Angeles this time around, not San Fran. So much for the Alcatraz idea. Anyway, according to GTASA.org, a pretty comprehensive GTA: San Andreas site, here's some of the stuff you can expect in the game: Weapons - Nunchucks - Throwing stars - Twin desert eagles - Multi-heat seeking ground to air missiles - Militarygrade weapons Vehicles There isn't a lot of information about San Andreas and the vehicles, but it has been confirmed that in San Andreas you can finally swim, use jet skis, and mini subs. You can also enter the airport and the jumno jets and other aircrafts. Also an rescue helicopter to to amublance missions is now available. Storyline rumors, missions Most rumours resolve around the setting: LA-esque San Andreas during a massive riot. Tommy Vercetti isn't set to reappear as the main character in the game, but instead plays as the fat mob boss who tells you what to do. Your character (unnamed) has to work out a way to get rid of the power-mad Vercetti and take control of the San Andreas underworld. You're hampered by destruction derby-style driving as rioters make life hard for you whilst you attemp varied missions. Riot police are out in force trying to regain control. Players see certain areas fall back into rioters' control, cutting off exits to home or making it very difficult to get freedom. FYI: For those interested in the site I found this stuff on, check out: http://sanandreas.thegtagarage.com/informa...tle=Information
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted March 2, 2004 Riots? That should be fun. But man, I was kind of envisioning the bright night life of Vegas.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 I just want a kick-ass soundtrack and the ability to riot for cash. (breaking windows, setting fires, and stealing items to the tune of "April 29, 1992" by Sublime)
El Psycho Diablo 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 - Twin desert eagles ..despite the fact it's not really -possible- to shoot two desert eagles at the same time.. *cough* Might as well throw in my nomination for what may be the "most overhyped game ever", right next to the MGS sequel. The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 Man oh man...gimmie a gun in each hand, and I'll be happier then a pig in shit. I don't care how fucking plausible it is, I wanna use both hands, fer fuck's sake.

Hmm...I have mixed feelings. On one hand, GTA5 will probably be the same damn thing we've had the last two games. On the other hand, at least it probably won't be a damn movie game like MGS3 probably will be.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 On one hand, GTA5 will probably be the same damn thing we've had the last two games. Am I the only one who has no problem with this? I enjoy that some games can do that, like Mega Man or the Tony Hawk games. Each game is essentially the same, but with slight tweaks and new additions each time. It's great if the basic system is good, which I think the GTA system is.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 All I want to know is how will they advance the hooker situation in the new one? Cause it's funny. And rioters you say? I've been dying to drive a hummer into a crowd of people and killing about 10 of them at once. It sounds interesting but Vegas would have been awesome as well. Oh well, just wait for the NEXT one in the series. You know what I'd really like to see? Rockstar to get a license to do a Dawn of the Dead style game. I don't know why but Capcom isn't doing it for me with all the puzzles. I just want a game where the goal is to survive and get the hell out of the city before I'm zombie dinner. Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 Ray Liotta's going to be in it?! Woooo! They need actors who are used to playing mob guys to do voices. I want Joey Pants(since he was in GTA3) and I could also see Joe Pesci in there.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2004 it has been confirmed that in San Andreas you can finally swim, About damn time... that was one of the biggest flaws in the last two games.

Each game is essentially the same, but with slight tweaks and new additions each time. It's great if the basic system is good, which I think the GTA system is. But in those games, there was real gameplay, not "OMG YU CAN KILL H00K3rz LOL!" The missions themselves are not fun and have no replay value. It's the non-mission shit that people care about. GTA is sooo played out, and R*'s programmers became pompous pricks because of their games' commercial success, so fuck them.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2004 The missions themselves are not fun and have no replay value. Well, that's really just opinion, now isn't it? I mean, I'll agree on the reply stuff, but to just say they're no fun is just your opinion. Somehow, I doubt people would play the game in such great numbers if they didn't get at least some enjoyment from the missions.

The side stuff is nice for giving you something to do after you've beaten the storyline, but the missions are the glue that hold the game together.

SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Uh yea...I love the missions. Without the missions, I wouldnt have purchased any of the games. The other stuff is just cool to fool around with during boring summer days. Or...whenever you want to I guess.
