Longest you've ever stayed awake.

Recommended Posts

My birthday is right after Christmas, so 2 years ago I had all these new video games and a bunch of DVDs so I was up playing games and watching movies for about 40 hours during which several different friends made stops over. I went to sleep after that and then stayed up for another 20-some hours after. Sucks now that I have a job that doesnt let me take off several days to play video games.

Around 96 hours a long time ago. I don't really remember why I did but I was in really bad shape by the end of it.

Im going on 28 hours right now myself (10 am friday). I doubt I'm gonna push past it past 11 or 12 tonight because I want to get up and watch the Las Vegas race tomorrow, and luckily it doesn't start til like 2:30.

I can't stay awake for any abnormal amount of time, and excess alcohol will put me to sleep as soon as I lay down. My parents put rum in my bottle as a baby to keep my quiet, wonder if there's a connection. I don't use drugs, dunno if they'd have an effect.

Meh, about 40 hours back in my insomniac days.

I can't last 12 these days.

You know, for all you insomniac types, I've heard that insomnia is often caused from excessive computer usage. But maybe that's one of those catch 22 deals..whatever. Anyway, I believe I stayed up for about 24 hours once in June of '02 (I remember the time because I NEVER stay up very late). I've tried to stay awake for a day or so just for the fun of it, but usually around 20 hours I just slip into "fuck this, what's the point?" mode and end up going to sleep.

Word to the wise:

Early 90s WWF PPVs will not aid you in staying awake. Honestly.

Around 24 hours...when I was younger.

I could probably do it again now, but it's hard. After 1 am I can't watch any movies with a slow pace or slow spots, it puts me out in twenty minutes. Of course the majority of movies I care to watch fall into that description.

I don't know the exact number but I know a Pepsi can started to slide across a table and a stuffed rabbit started talking to me. Which was very odd, since I didn't own a stuffed rabbit nor was I drinking Pepsi.

I do know the rabbit was making sense.

I think it was up around 3 or 4 days but the days kind of ran together. My job is a b*tch sometimes I swear.

I'm going to say it was probably around 30 hours. It was from a Thursday to a Friday night, and while I can't remember exactly when I woke up on the Thursday (it was probably before noon, but I'm not 100% sure) I know I lasted until about 9 on the Friday night.

I went from monday morning around 10 to wednesday morning around 6 with no sleep which is something like 44 hours straight and then i took a four hour nap and then stayed up another 24 hours. So thats like 68 of 72 hours being awake the whole time.

I managed to get in bed at about 1:00 and my phone rang at like 6:15 this morning. I got up to answer it, wrong number. I trudged back to bed, 15 seconds later, phone rang again, I let it go thinking they'd get the idea, but they hung up before my machine could get it and called right back a 3rd time, hung up, called again and hung up (4 total calls). At this point I was pissed, so I got up waiting for the phone to ring so I could pick it up on first ring but they never called back.

So now Im up and pissed off. Stupid people cant figure out they're calling the wrong damn number once, twice or three times, but four damn times.

I can't stay up for very long, me record is something like 31 hours, from 6:30 AM on a friday to 1:30 PM on saturday, but I can function with very little sleep for a long time so I slept for 90 minutes and got right back up.

40 hours i think, on a school trip to France. I got up at 9am, got on the coach 15 hours later, we travelled through the night and i couldn't sleep, we went up the Eiffel Tower in the day which cleared my head a bit then when we got to the hostel me and my friend stayed up talking in the night. Finally went to sleep at 3:45 ish and got up at 7. The next night, i slept from about 4-7 and the night after that. I felt pretty good, but it looked as if i'd been punched in the face. Good times.

I would say for about 60 hours.

The trick is to occupy yourself.

I think I made it 42ish hours my freshman or sophmore year in college, paper or test.

It's funny maybe I was just getting old at 22 my senior year, but I would try to stay up all night instead of missing class, but I would cash out at about 4-5 for about 2 hours of sleep. Or I just stopped giving a shit about waking up.

Choken's right staying occupied is what makes it easy. In college it was always procrastinate until there was only three hours before the paper was due and it was easy to whip out 5-8 pages.

Exactly.

A mistake that people who TRY to stay up for a long time is that they try to Watch Tv/Movies...

BAD MOVE. That keeps you in ONE place. You HAVE to be moving, video games are a GREAT source to go to, although you are seated, you still provide your body with more stimulation then you would watching a movie.

The Internet is nice as it gives you endless things to do.

Although it's risky in the post 40 hour mark, Driving will kill off a good a few hours if you have nothing better to do, drive around and get "lost" and explore the unknown areas.

What do you mean by "goofballs", Agent? I'm pretty well-versed in drug terminology, but I've never heard that one.

I was indeed referring to substances in general. Acid and cocaine, in the particular instance I was thinking of, which lasted at least 4 or 5 days. I'd highly discourage using illicit drugs for a purpose like staying awake. Those things are better left for recreation, if that's your thing. I pretty much hate meth though. Anyone who uses that compulsively is a fuck.

If it's still allowed by the FDA, I remember being tweaked as shit on GNC's Ripped Fuel a few times at school. Didn't have the pukey feeling that shit like Mini Thins give me, either. Honestly, I think the easiest way to stay awake, is either completely sober, or with a hallucinogen, though the latter isn't too helpful if you're doing something constructive.

Two weeks ago I went 42 hours without sleeping. Incidently, I picked up my first ever traffic ticket near the end of this period of sleep deprivation, getting cited for blowing through a right turn on a red light.

This weekend I went 34 hours without sleep during a binge of Madden 2004 and NFL Street.

Oh yeah...I stayed up 6 months one time, and all I took was a Advil and some No Dose....beat THAT!
