Brock Lesnar quits WWE after Mania!

Recommended Posts

Like others have said I don't see what the problem is. I mean going to South Africa to meet Holly?? And of course, those matches with Holly and Gunn.

And question how is that like when HHH protects his spot. Brock is a ME and he's getting treated like shit and he's going to stand up for himself unlike Angle. Ok, Brock may have had some complaints about dropping the title to Eddie but, he did it and made him look good. When HHH trys to protect himself he ends up fucking up a feud, fucking up a guy's career, pissing off the fans and making them not care and bring down the ratings.

The feud with Holly and the matches with Gunn. People bitching about him getting a plane, the way his feud with GB is being booked, and if the rumors are true he's going to be feed to UT again.

I don't care why Brock wants time off, or how he does, but he should take it. All guys should take a month or two off so they don't get burnt out. After some time at home and rehabing old injuries their begin to miss the ring and they will return fresh and ready to go.

Of course there will always be a few who go home and get fat and return out of shape. But they can be sent back home w/out pay until they get in better shape.

These guys don't get an off season. A few months or even a few weeks off the road would help a ton.

???? It's from PWInsider!

Just seen it there as well.

To add to it, I do remember an Austin interview over here in the UK a few weeks back where Austin said he has spoke to Brock Lesnar at length about his character. It is here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003560...4050033,00.html

This is the particular quote:

Brock Lesnar was getting to the top, but I think he got stalled with his storylines and got caught up in the mix a little bit. I talked to him extensively at the Survivor Series and he was a little concerned about some of the things they are doing with him. They need to get that guy pointed in one direction and run with him, because he's gone heel and babyface a couple of times now and early on in your career you don't want too many changes like that as the fans have to believe in what you are.

Looks like Austin has Lesnar's ear.

Brock has a right to complain.

Just like Vince has a right to tell him to beat it.

What Brock doesn't realize:

The Undertaker will ALWAYS get the push and the main-event feuds. When everybody started leaving, he stayed. He ALWAYS stayed. Short of boning one of his kids, this loyalty thing is something else that makes Vince weepy. He''ll do business with guys that left, but the guys who stuck by him when it was crappy will NEVER be made to look bad.

That's why Hogan was jobbing to Brock and Undertaker was beating him.

the undertaker did indeed contact bischoff in 96 or 97. bischoff's answer basically was :"thanks but we are not interested". Probably due to the fact that he isn't really marketable without his WWF-owned gimmick.

Wrestlezone probably copied it from PWI. If you don't believe stuff from WZ why go there? Pop-up deficiency?

Does he think he's going the be the main event top guy for as long as he's there? Personally I think he's in a good spot. Guys like Jericho, Benoit, Big Show, Angle, Undertaker, and Kane always seem to dip in and out of the main event. One month they can be in a meaningless midcard feud and at the next ppv be a world title contender. I think Brock should be in that area. Keeping him at the top would hurt him more, HHH is the only guy there right now who's been at the top non stop and we can't stand him anymore.

You can say he got pushed too quick, but with his look and attitude they had to. Like GOldberg

Who the hell does Brock Lesnar think he is. It's a freaking worked sport. No one is asking him to work Velocity every week against Billy Kidman. If this story is true then WWE screwed up by giving Lesnar too much too quickly especially for a man of his age. Lesnar obviously needed another year in OVW and a year in the lower card with this attitude. Ask almost any other performer in WWE or pro wrestling and if they were told that they would be working a program with Taker then they would consider it an honor. Lesnar should be humble. Rock laid down for him as did Hogan and I believe also Taker in the past if memory serves me correctly. As for moaning about working with Holly overseas - what a cry baby. Holly may also have an attitude problem and be stiff in the ring but at least Holly always gives 100 % and doesn't complain and he's been stuck in the lower/midcard for nigh on TEN years.

Whilst Lesnar is entertaining to watch and IS the future for WWE, he is not bigger than the company and he should realize that WWE will do just fine without him.

Maybe this was leaked so that we'd have reason to boo Brock at WM, or actually pay to see the lame card as this could be his "last" match.

I agree with Brock on his gripes regarding UT, but in all honesty I don't even think Brock is all that great either, and would hope he is not really a long term solution as the champ.

He already went over the Undertaker twice. If there is any truth to this story, then Brock is a whine-ass. You never seen Hogan bitch about having to feud with Kamala or Killer Kahn :P .

He is a bit too young and too new to make these type of remarks, but he has the right idea. Whether you like Brock or not, if he keeps up at the pace he's going, he'll become THE man in the WWE, hands down. I also cringe at the idea of Brock being fed to Undertaker. And the whole loyalty aspect is such BS. Billy Gunn has been with the company for over a decade. Should he suddenly get inserted into a main event program because he never left for WCW? No. Why? Because he SUCKS. Why should Bob Holly get a main event push all of a sudden? Because he stayed with the company for so many years? He is not a good worker as well, and don't apologize for his lack of in-ring abilities. Brock is already better than 85% of all the workers in the WWE, and he's only around 27. I don't think he should be getting a million World Title reigns, but don't keep putting him into the mid-card, and then just insert him with a main eventer out of no where. Look where that got Kurt Angle. The reason Undertaker or someone established can go into the mid-card is because he's already established as a legend in the fans' eyes, so they'll cheer him no matter what, and he'll always get attention. Brock is still proving himself to the promotion and the fans, so of course he needs to protect his spot. If Triple H realized that he can work a mid-card program without losing his heat, he wouldn't be viewed as such a dickhead.

"Might"??

I miss Undertauro. He was peaking in that gimmick; fuck the deadman.

You mean MMA Taker? He fucking ruled as MMA Taker. He showed off some decent submission skills. This showed he wasn't afraid of changing up his moveset after the same old stuff for 10 years.

You mean like the regular hold names, but with "of DOOM!" or "of EVIL!" afterwards? I would mark out for that.

'Cole, the Dead Mans going for his patented Ude Garamae of DOOM!'...yeah that scans well.

There's no excuse for shipping someone off to South Africa to fight Bob Holly.

Holly may also have an attitude problem and be stiff in the ring but at least Holly always gives 100 % and doesn't complain and he's been stuck in the lower/midcard for nigh on TEN years.

Because Bob knew he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. He was awful and heatless.

Update from Meltzer

ProWrestlingInsider.com reported earlier today that Brock Lesnar may be taking time off after the Smackdown European tour which ends on 3/21 and that all post-Mania plans for him are being rewritten. The report was that Lesnar was unhappy about being removed from the top of the card and that his next planned program was being fed to Undertaker to get over the old Undertaker gimmick as an unstoppable monster. It is no secret that Lesnar wasn't handling the demotion as no longer being in the title picture well, and that Undertaker part of the story has been going around since Royal Rumble time. As of checking on things, the story is accurate but it's an issue that still hasn't been resolved as to how it's ending up. But it's not even guaranteed at this point that he's even doing the European tour.

Yeah, this sounds like the Austin situation two years ago. I wonder will he come back and have shit matches after beating his girlfriend?

That sums up Austin's situation to a tee.

I think with Brock it's a combination of both ego and misuse. He knows he's good, probably not as good as he thinks he is, and he also knows that certain people (i.e. the Undertaker) are walking all over him. Think about it this way: you had a fantastic match at NWO, put a new guy over, and now you're being told that not only are you taking on a guy who's no showing until WM, but he will also probably go over. THEN they say after that you have a feud with the most selfish guy on the roster to look foward to. I'd be pissed.

And why IS Taker staying around? The "Old school" Taker image works for his WM match because of the history behind it. After WM it will just look silly.

Maybe we'll get lucky...and "Undead" Taker will still use the MMA moves, but give them "demonic" names...

That would be really, really cool.

So does this mean that the Goldberg/Lesnar is going to have the same finish as the UT/Kane match at JD 98?

I actually called this in the Strange WM Predictions in HD.

By the way, Brock has his points, but he needs a break anyway. The Undertaker should be putting over Kane and Lesnar (again), not the other way around.

Oh and another Undertaker reign? Joy...

Thank god Brock has become smart behind the scenes. He put over Kurt angle at Summerslam 2003 and look where Kurt is now, he turned heel again. I'm still pissed at the Huge push Taker always get. With his old gimmick expect him to walk all over both the heels AND the faces in Smackdown. Brock has FINALLY realized that the WWE writing team fucking sucks and they have no idea how to book their shows. My guess is that he wants to take a break untill the deadman nostaligia fades away before he comes back fresh and hot again. Let's see what WWE are going to do about it.

While I don't disagree with his outward reasoning (that the inevitable Taker push part 1000000 is a BAD IDEA)...

Everyone else has that travel schedule too...and they don't make as much money to do it.

Plus...he's only been doing the traveling for 2 years or so...

I've seen the question "how good will Brock be in 5 years"...

Now I wonder "What frame of mind will Brock be in in 5 years".
